one be put on the Colour Guide Page?

A few are missing I think:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp?v=1&itemType=P&itemNo=
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp?v=2&itemType=P&itemNo=

I never look at any version of this except List, so this was a nice change of
pace.

The only other ones that are missing are colors that only appear in Gear items
(a known issue that we have no way around) and some Modulex colors (not very
important). Flat Silver is the only color that should really have a representative
image that doesn't.

Randy

We are currently waiting for a bug fix to the admin page that allows us to be
able to make changes to the Color Guide. Once that is in place, I will get this
fixed right away.

52 orders for a zero-feedback new seller with tons of Star Wars items priced
too good to be true?

Yikes, that's either a lot of people confident of getting their money back
if scammed or just maybe people need some more skepticism.

That's one way to put it.

SilverHawks! Yes!

Throw in ThunderCats and you have my absolute two favorite cartoons from when
I was growing up in the 80s!

It is unfortunate that SilverHawks did not last very long. I remember it being
on for only a short period of time.

It's not.

Nice catch!

As already mentioned in a prior post, there are indeed three black 4L axles needed
for the first build in the set instructions (2x in Step 6 and 1x in Step 7).

After accepting this request, I manually adjusted the inventory to have a total
of three and removed this separate line entry.

So basically I found this guy selling 200+ regular 501st troopers for $5 which
is suspicious. Quickly, all the stock is bought out I bought 52 from him for
$290
total because shipping and sales tax, and I ask him when he would ship,
he said in 2-3 days, then he closed down the store and the store message says
"refunding buyers". Seems like other buyers had an issue same as me.

There was also a negative review saying there was no refund and the seller ghosted.

He also had other suspiciously cheap items like 10 (sealed) (complete) 2022 AT-TEs
for $90 each which were like $140 retail maybe $120 on discount at best so this
makes no sense. Also a ton of complete 2023 501st battle packs for only $10 which
isn't possible, even on discount it's still $12, and $15 retail. I ask
him how the ATTEs are so cheap and that I want to buy some, no response, store
closed.

Should I file for a refund with PayPal before this guy gets away? Is there
a guarantee that PayPal can refund me if this is a scam or what if he closes
his bricklink account and closes PayPal and just disappears what am I supposed
to do?

The submitter of this request confirmed that the 4079 version was found in two

Since the 4079 version should be an alternate, this request cannot be accepted.

Comments from Submitter:
Looking on the images of the bucket, specifically the inventory, it looks as if the 2x4 brick with pins should be dark gray, not light gray. As well as every other similar bucket set I own uses dark gray, and not light gray. I own 3 buckets of this set, I can email pictures if requested.

I agree.

The image of the part on the package is definitely darker than the light gray
image of

Part No: 2460 Name: Tile, Modified 2 x 2 with Pin
*
2460 Tile, Modified 2 x 2 with Pin
Parts: Tile, Modified {Light Gray}

Secondly, the LEGO replacement parts data for this set specifically has this
part listed in dark gray.

And even though the Peeron inventory is from source "Instructions" (which
I would take to mean the parts list on the box), they have the part listed in
dark gray, also.

Request accepted.

Cheers,
Randy

Comments from Submitter:
My brother got this set brand new back when it was released, and it had a trans yellow visor.

I think you are correct here. But just to be sure, I ordered a new set to confirm.
If the visor color is different, we will need to have a completely new minifigure
entry instead of changing the inventory of the current one. Unfortunately, the
current one has been in the catalog for far too long for a change such as this.

Randy

You are absolutely correct. Any parts that are always included in the set and
meant to be used in the main build or alternate builds should always be in the
Regular Items section of the inventory.

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562

According to the set packaging, this set contains 38 pieces. If I look at the
LEGO replacement parts data, all of the above pieces should not be extras. That
means they are all meant to be used in the alternate builds.

These requests have all been accepted, and the BrickLink inventory now has 38
pieces in it as well.

Randy

Interesting. After another quick look at the inventory I think that there should
be 2 of

Part No: 3647 Name: Technic, Gear 8 Tooth
*
3647 Technic, Gear 8 Tooth
Parts: Technic, Gear {Light Gray}
instead of 3, but I don't know if it's an extra
part or not

That is one of them, but there are more.

Since I didn't have this set and I think it is pretty neat, I have bought
a new one to go through for inventory confirmation purposes. I should have it
within a week and be able to correct the rest of the inventory.

was released in the year 2010, almost a full decade after the release of the
My Own Train sets. I find it extremely hard to believe that a My Own Train set
was still being produced in 2010 when 92340 was released. Therefore, I have no
idea why this piece would have ever been in this set. For now, this request will
not be accepted, but if you have proof from a sealed set, please provide the
evidence.

Does a decorated part mean the same thing as a printed part?

I'm just curious here, does there have to be a base part with a decorated
part entry for the stickered part to be added?

Or does decorated part mean stickered part?

Very unclear and confusing terminology being used. That's a lot for someone
to understand.

Cheers ...

ghyde

"Decorated" parts include both stickered and printed parts.

All this confusion. I propose the following:

Decorated part: means any printed part.

Stickered part: Means any part with a sticker on it.

Fortunately we already have "Sticker over Assembly" covered.

This usage of the terminology interchangeably just confuses my brain and Nubs's
too!

Hopefully someone will see reason and distinguish between stickers and printed
parts!

Cheers ...

ghyde

In the catalog, "decorated" means that something has a pattern. This
pattern can be printed, it can come from a sticker, or it can come from the molding
process itself (dual-molded parts, marbled parts, etc.)

So, it is pretty easy to comprehend if you get your information from the right
place.

Cheers,
Randy

This request will not be accepted.

As stated by another member, this set was redesigned during production. This
is mentioned in the inventory note at the bottom of the inventory page.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=75072-1

Basically, everything that has a Match ID 99 in the Regular Items section (the
earlier version of the set) was swapped out for everything that has a Match ID
99 in the Alternate Items section (the later version of the set).

It looks like you have the later version of the set, so you should use the quantities
of parts listed in the Alternate Items section to check your set against.

Cheers,
Randy

I won't promise anything, but as a start it would be helpful to know the

20 (without fin) x 27 x 5.5

Thank you!

I believe it's from

Maybe you can find someone who has the set with the inner box parts (for sale)
to confirm the size. Unfortunately I don't know if the numbers on those cardboard
parts were always the same for one part, or if they were random or varying numbers.
Good luck!

Hey Randy,

Interestingly, in the instructions currently available online with Lego.com,
they are not used in that step.

Nor are they included in the parts listing.

Did they change the design of the set?

Cheers
Douglas

Yes, they have definitely redesigned it.

There are now 3x

[P=3069b,85]

instead of 2

And only 1 x

This appears to be a mistake. These parts don't appear in the manual.

They are used in Step 116 on Page 120.

I just purchased some minifigs because I like the Muscles look of the torso,
which are visible thru the shirt but not specifically visible as bare skin
or flesh or hair, etc. The muscles are the main reason I like this piece.

However, the description lacks any mention of "muscles" or "muscles
outline" like other torsos have in their descriptions. So, it was not searchable
using "muscles." It took me a long time to find this fig/torso using
other methods.

Bare flesh does not appear to be a solid rule or requirement when using the term
"muscles" to describe several other torsos, for example those for Batman
or Robin. And sometimes the words "muscles outline" is used and sometimes
just "muscles"

So, I am just wondering if "muscles outline" should be added to this
item description:

Part No: 973pb4148c01 Name: Torso Shirt with Muscles Outline, Torn Collar, Yellow Neck, and Red Diamond with Ninjago Logogram 'VS' Pattern / Yellow Arms / Red Hands

  Hello everybody,

Based on more than a year of excellent work, we have just promoted BrickLink
member TakeAbricK (Diana) to the Catalog Associate position:

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/member/community_experts.page

The Catalog Associate position is equivalent to the old Catalog Administrator
position with privileges on the catalog side only. After a year of activity in
the new area, Diana will be eligible for promotion to the new Catalog Administrator
position with privileges on both sides.

Diana was the first Inventories Administrator who exclusively used the new Inventory
Comparison Tool for inventory approval work:

https://www.bricklink.com/r3/inventorycomparison/main.page?sourceB=1&invB=60001&sourceA=0&invA=60001-1

She has also done considerable work in improving the Help Pages for those contributing
inventories to the BrickLink catalog. For example, this page explaining the Inventory
Comparison Tool was just completed recently:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2594

This page also happens to contain the first-ever BrickLink-hosted color chart
comparing BrickLink color names with official LEGO color names.

We trust Diana will continue with the enthusiasm and dedication she has shown
over the past year. Please join me in welcoming her to this new position!

Woohoo! 🎉👏🎉

  Here's a strange one....
Just acquired 2 older sets that are semi-sealed. By that I mean that due to age,
the clear, roundish lego sealing tape (on the sides) has pulled away from one
side (on both sets).
Because of this, you can actually get into the boxes, but everything inside is
sealed/new.
Also, there is a number printed on the clear lego tape...anyone know what that
number means?

It is a manufacturing code. The first two numbers are the week it was made, the
third digit is a plant code, and the last digit is the year it was made. So if
your set was made in the 18th week of 2002 in the plant with code "R",
the code would read 18R2.

Any opinions on whether the tape drying out is common on older but new sets?

Yes, it is extremely common.

Randy

Hello Diana,
I did immediately what you asked for. I have 10 unapproved submissions to the
catalog. These are rather straightforward entries. I'd be happy to add more,
but I don't think there's any sense in that. I added them to help the
community and myself (so that I have a consistent inventory). After two weeks,
nothing has changed.
I don't know what to do next.
This is not a complaint - just a question

Tomasz

Books are lower priority than new sets, new minifigures, and new parts, and we
always have a ton of those these days. When we get small lulls in the main LEGO
release schedule, we can get to some of the other stuff. Having said that, I
will try to squeeze in your submissions in the next couple of days.

Cheers,
Randy

I got an extra of this in both packets I opened of her, hence why I added it
as an extra. I guess some packets didn't get one though. Maybe a note is
needed to say that you may or may not receive an extra of the part.

That's up to an admin though.

Josh

The definition of an extra is that you may or may not receive it. We are not
going to add that note to every set in the BrickLink database.

Set your oven to a low temp of 200
Place items in oven for a short time period, start with 1 minute.
Pull them out of the oven and test their temperature.
Continue to put into oven until they are warm enough.
Once they get warm enough the bends will fall out.

Over cooking will ruin the clutch on the studs so be careful.

Remember to season with salt a pepper and to first oil the part so it dosnt stick

And then serve with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Parts: Technic, Brick

For some time ...

I build a lot of Classic Space(stations) and since having moved away from baseplates
I use a combination of platelayer + bricklayer + platelayer to create my own
"baseplates" with Technic holes at the ends to make a modular setup

These 16x16 thingies, mostly used in mosaic sets, are pretty close to that so
I've bought some for testing

Since they're invisible (I will put a layer of tan plates on top so the colour
doesn't matter to me), I've bought five new ones in lavender (cheapest
colour)

But they're all very clearly warped!

All five in the same maner

Is this a known problem with this part?

Now, I haven't build anything with them yet so they may straighten out with
some weight on the top?

Cheers,

Ole

I have seen a lot of the black ones, and I have never seen any sign of warping
in any regards. Maybe it is an issue with the lavender ones?

I will say this one time here for everyone's sake. We do not make decisions

& now I’m faced with a decision, do I fork out hundreds of pounds to get it (if
I can find one), or just sit with the knowledge of my collection never being
complete & quitting altogether?

The catalog is a fluid entity, and it ebbs and flows in many ways all of the
time. Some things get added (sw0202b), some get deleted, and some just get changed
(like five Star Wars "figures" that were just decommissioned [ https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2571
]).

It was decided by the current catalog administration team as a whole that sw0202b
should get its own entry because it was made and distributed in sets in significant
quantities.

The Star Wars figure mentioned is no different than this Technic figure

Minifig No: tech041a Name: Technic Figure White Legs, White Torso with Red Harness, Blue Arms, Red Helmet, Trans-Clear Visor
*
tech041a (Inv) Technic Figure White Legs, White Torso with Red Harness, Blue Arms, Red Helmet, Trans-Clear Visor
Minifigures: Technic
that was printed incorrectly and distributed in sets in significant quantities.
That was just added to the catalog in December of last year.

As catalog administrators, we cannot play favorites and we try to apply guidelines
and decisions as consistently as possible.

Cheers,
Randy

Ok—I’ll say hi here

I am putting together info on sw0102–again as the admins have asked of me since
it was years ago when the full triangle of this minifigure helmet was misprinted
into many sets but never got it’s separate variant entry. It was I and a couple
others that tried to get this accomplished but without success. At present Sw0202
torso misprint was accepted really quick by the admins. Why? Just split the
sw0102 to add the variant correctly as sw0102a and sw0102b.

None of the current administrators were around for the old discussions or yet
understand the issue fully for sw0102. That is why we need the information.

We received all of the necessary information promptly when dealing with sw0202b,
and we were able to make a decision based on our collective prior experience
as an admin team dealing with similar scenarios (such as the Technic figure).
Once we feel like we have enough information, a decision will be made and acted
upon.

Cheers,
Randy

We discussed this very recently at an admin meeting. It was decided from higher
up the management chain that the site will no longer be adding cancelled sets
to the BrickLink catalog in the future. The ones that are there from the past
have been grandfathered in.

Yep. This is why I don't like all these "ideas" things and copycat

used for other purposes outside of a train, and without a hinge around. It is
just bar connections all around. This part should be listed either under Bar

been for electric trains).

Meanwhile, the old part 2881/2922 did have a hinge component and can be left
alone under hinge. If part 37494 moves to train in the inventory, however, I'd
argue 2881/2922 should join it there despite having a hinge component.

I’m still wondering why it’s still spelt “gauge” when it’s pronounced “gage.”

And I keep wondering why we used the same word, spelled the same way, but said
slightly differently for "read" in present and past tenses.

And then I keep wondering about "rough" (ruff) and "tough" (tuff)
but not "cough" (coff instead of cuff) or "dough" (doe instead

Ah, forget it. English is a screwy language.

Horrible advice. You definitely would *not* want to do the above in the United
States. That could get you killed.

If he does not, perhaps the best thing is simply to ignore his responses. Once
a response chain degrades to nothing but the same thing being revived over and
over again, it's time to stop responding and ignore them. It takes a lot
to do so, but if you want him to stop, you must not respond back.

Minifigures in the catalog are based on how they are shown built in set instructions,

as to why it takes so long?

Not to mention that the inventory is being completed by a Catalog Admin who has

There are actually 12 used in the set, so I have manually updated the quantity
in the inventory. They should also be listed as Counterparts, so I have updated
that manually, too.

You need to add an onsite payment method (PayPal or Stripe) in order for Bricklink
to be able to collect sales tax.

And what happens if I don't want to accept onsite payment?

Then you will not be able to receive orders from members that live in the vast
majority of the United States:

  Hello all,

Just picked up a Phasma and noticed what look like cracks on both sides of torso.
On investigation theres no movement and seller assures me its only been on display.

Ive seen lines in other flat silver torsos before from moulding or wherever they
come from.

Lines are identical on both sides with a small flair at the hip and run under
and up inside the torso.

Are these stress marks or just from manufacturing?

Weld lines from manufacturing. They are especially noticeable on any of the pearl
colors like Pearl Gold, Pearl Dark Gray, or Flat Silver (which Phasma is created
in).

The two new entries are

Part No: 23801 Name: Technic, Steering Wheel Hub Holder with 2 Pin Holes and 2 Arms with Axle Holes with Slots

23801 Technic, Steering Wheel Hub Holder with 2 Pin Holes and 2 Arms with Axle Holes with Slots

The newer version of the part has much higher friction within the axle holes.

The new Ninjago 2023 season has been confirmed by the writers to actually be
a new series, so we need a new Category for it, and the existing entries need
to be adjusted for clarity going forward.

Please create Categories "Ninjago: Dragons Rising" and "Ninjago:
Masters of Spinjitzu".

The new Category structure should be as follows:
- For all seasons prior to NDR (as well as Legacy), "Ninjago - Ninjago:
Masters of Spinjitzu - Season Title (e.g. Rise of the Snakes)".
- For TLNM, "Ninjago - The LEGO Ninjago Movie".
- For Core (as it is not fully canon, despite some vehicle and suit appearances
in canon material), "Ninjago - Core".

Do you have any idea how long it would take to recategorize approximately 500
sets, 820 minifigures, and an unknown number of book and gear items that probably
reaches into the thousands?

I think it is pretty safe to say that we will not be doing this.

We will figure out what to do when it comes time.

Cheers,
Randy

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

It wasn't just the bright pink one that was under an improper entry. There
was a white one and also the one that is all dark bluish gray. Because of this,
a new entry has been added to the catalog for the parts that have the same color
wheels holders as the main body of the part. It can be found here:

b21hp08?

Welsh is not a language that is currently included in the BrickLink interface.
It would need to be added to the database from someone at BrickLink before we
could move forward with this.

Greenlandic was added last year, so we shall see what we can do.

But check the inventories and https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102

Yes, they are in the Regular Items section, but they are not necessary to sell
a used set as complete. Only sets that are listed as new and complete need to
have them.

Now classing them as probable clones.

No Lego markings on either but we know this may be ok.

Flat silver has only one circle close to guard on reverse when viewed as images,
it does have shallow hole in hilt.

Black is without hole in hilt and faint circle on reverse close to guard.

Patterns on hilt appear different to each other.

Anyone have more experience with these Katana parts with square guard without

Cheers.

They both look like clone parts to me. The black one for sure is, and the other
one should have the part number on it.

This minifigure is listed as having a plain black torso with black arms. However the figure I have with the set and the instructions/box all are plain black torso with yellow arms and yellow hands.

So the instructions are incorrect?

Yes, there is a clear error in them. There are two images on that page, one with
black arms and one with yellow.

I know the minifigure comes with yellow arms in the set. We have definite proof
of that. I want to know if the submitter of the change request has instructions
that look exactly like the ones that are online or if they have a corrected version.
