It might be clutch strength measuring/testing tool that they use in the mould

LEGO-site a while back.

Yes, thats why my question over here. Look everywhere at the internet, no known
prices

Could you add the inventory to Bricklink? At least that would give you the part
out value as a starting point.

"It said the reason for that was because extra steps were required in the
production process, which meant it needed to use more energy.

As a result, it said it has "decided not to progress" with making bricks
from the material."

I'm somewhat skeptical. If the new bricks would have caused more carbon emissions
because they require more energy to produce, then wouldn't that be less of
an issue if the energy used to create them was sourced from wind, solar, or nuclear?

If some of those extra steps are during brick production (moulding factories),
then tell me which of these countries are 100% “wind, solar, or nuclear”?
China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, USA, Vietnam.

My guess is (most of) the extra steps are during the making of the raw material.
So, second question: in which country should the PET be recycled to use 100%
wind, solar, or nuclear?
You have more choice here (lots of more bad choices ).

And then, how do you transport the to-be-recycled PET to this new recycling factory
and how do you transport the recycled pellets to the moulding factories?  Without
adding more CO²?
(PET transport should be as CO²-expensive as for ABS (unless the weight is highly
different), so that question should reduce to: Without adding more transport?)

Besides, even if you found a magical country that has 100% wind, solar, or nuclear,
and that could produce the PET (yeah, that small 2-huts island won’t do), neither
wind, solar, or nuclear are 0% CO²: you’re using energy that could be used for
something else, so you’re requiring more energy capacity, so you’re requiring
more wind turbine, solar panel, or nuclear plant to be built, and that’s never
CO²-free.

Good questions making a good read.

Let's make that CO² → CO₂ and I totally agree. Did you use up all your Unicode
credits with the œ explanation? The ₂ Unicode U+2082 is intended for the fractional
part of custom fractions, but since this forum strips the (sub)2(/sub) markers,
this will do. Let's not square the carbon monoxide but stick to carbon-dioxide
only - or actually, this is more about the entire picture of energy transformation
that's irrevocably lost to entropy.

  I'm asking physically. Here's where I am:

My house is small so I can online get so many Akro-Mils into my garage. I've
got twelve and having trouble fitting in any more. My parents offered their basement
which is far larger than my house; in the open corner alone I might be able to
get thirty-six to forty-eight. Plenty of space to upscale to many times that
if they allow it. I may be able to start carrying many hundreds of thousands
of elements.

My parents also offered their labor because they're Door Dashing to make
ends meet and I want to help them out by splitting profit for their effort filling
orders during the week while I stock, fund, supply, and manage everything else.

Is this taxing on the body? My parents are aging and I wouldn't be helping
them out if they're having to strain to get orders filled. For me in my garage,
standing for hours can be painful so I'm afraid it'll put them through
hell.

I care about my parents. I put them through a lot growing up and I want to improve
their situation any way I can. They at the very least seem receptive to a BL
store.

Every time I read a story here about Akro-Mils or similar systems of 'many
tiny drawers', I think: Why? Meaning, why to have a separate drawer for each
part spread out vertically, when you can also use wider drawers that can each
hold 20 to 60 cups / bags / open boxes? If you group similar but not easily confused
parts together in a drawer, you can do many sorting operations by taking out
just a few drawers at a time and can do most work sitting. In my setup I can
easily fit 4.000 lots in a few meter cupboard space.

For bigger lots, they get split over the small lot in the drawer box and the
remainder in a ZIP bag into the 40 liter containers.

I checked my set 6017 from 1987, one year after the initial release of these

And as these flags in black only appeared from 1996 onward, it's safe to
assume those should have the logo.

It could also be a custom print on a genuine Lego part of course.

In one of your wanted list - and it does not have to be the current one! - there
is a duplicate entry. You have to find and fix that first before you can do any
edit on any of your wanted lists.

This duplicate entry may be caused by a catalog merge, so not necessarily something
you have done yourself.

Does anyone know of a tool that can take a list of parts (e.g. a BL wanted list
or BrickStore file) and print them (or format them in a file that I can then
print) in a grid similar to how set inventories at the back of instructions
look or how BrickSet and ReBrickable set inventories look?

I know I can print in a list via BrickStore but that wastes both paper and ink.

(1) Quick and dirty:
If you have a page that shows just what you need to see, copy the html page to
a multi-column Word-document so you can format it quickly as you like.

If you just want the part images, a convoluted way is to write the part numbers
as macro tags — or use Excel to format your list as "[p=" + partnr
+ "," + colornr +"]" — and paste that in the forum post editor.
Use the preview button and copy the resulting html into a multi-column Word document
as described before.

(2) Professional BOM:
Import the list into Studio and use the instruction maker to add the BOM to your
pages.

And what should I do now, because I dont have it
Thank you in advance

For a next time, you should always check if what you part out matches with the
physical parts you put in your inventory.

As for

Set No: 77013 Name: Escape from the Lost Tomb
*
77013-1 (Inv) Escape from the Lost Tomb
585 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2023
Sets: Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark
, the hat is listed in the Extras section, which definitely
means you should check whether you have received this part in your box before
you add it to your inventory. It may or may not be there; some people may find
this part in their box and some may not. That's what's the Extras section
is about.

As for your current sales order that you can't fulfill: What I believe best
practice is to inform your customer of your problem and offer to source the part
for him, apologizing for the delay in delivery of this part might cause. Ask
the buyer what they feel is the best solution, but source the part anyway so
you'll be prepared regardless of their answer.

For updates, you could re-download the file every few weeks and cache the downloaded

You can just lookup the prices here on Bricklink, but as long as you have buyer-only
status you can not sell them here. Note that on each set's detail page there
is a separate tab for box and instructions.

For everyone's better understanding in ease of through clicking, I have added
the macro tags in your post by adding [s=####-1] around each of your numbers.

I am designing a fighter craft that uses solar panels attached at the end of
it's wings. I want to display the panels at a 45 degree angle relative to
the horizontal axis.

Yes, although a 37° angle might be easier to build in real life.

Welcome to Bricklink. First thing you have to understand is that Bricklink is
not a single shop; it is a platform where 17.000 stores sell their bricks and
sets.

If you buy from a store in India, there is no customs involved. If you buy internationally,
you are dependent on what regulations apply for import into India/Gujarat.

i thinking it's because i'm stupid but i can't find the right
angle of the piece

It's a 3-4-5 Pythagorean triangle, so the angle is 36.87 or its complement
of 53.13 degrees, plus a multiple of 90 degrees.

However, in a case like this it is often easier to first connect one point, then
hinge around that point and find the proper angle by trial and error. If you
look at the model from the top, you can see rather well whether the second hinge
is coming close to the ideal location. You can always hide all parts not needed
for the hinge operation so you have a clear view.

I expect the same rules apply as to the forum, especially:

"6. No active promotion of a competitor's website. Linking to other websites
that offer items for sale that can be sold on the site is also not allowed."

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=126

And indeed this is specified in the terms as:

"Linking - Linking to pages outside of BrickLink which offer LEGO brand products
for sale.
Action: Submit a Problem Member Report

Members must not link from their Splash Page, Terms & Conditions, Shipping
Policy, About Me page or items for sale to another site that offers items for
sale which are LEGO brand products."

Please note that this definition includes Pick a Brick and Lego.com

100 sealed sets of the new Promo Houses of World 3, has to be knockoffs right???

I don't think they "have to be" knock offs but having 6,400 of a
promo set is a little suspicious.

Not 6400, only 100 which you need to buy in multiples of 64.

100 copies sounds reasonable enough to get from such a set. That's not truckloads.

related to UV influence but is similar to the yellowing of white bricks.

What's up with the Chewbacca face printing? Is their two variants? Does anyone
actually have a Medium Nougat printed Chewbacca? Or were these mis-identified?
All of my 15307 definitely have Dark Tan Printing and the BL catalog only lists
this piece as having 'Medium Nougat' fur printing. SW1184 also looks
Dark Tan.

Part No: 15307pb01 Name: Minifigure, Head, Modified SW Wookiee, Chewbacca with Medium Nougat Face Fur and Teeth Pattern
*
15307pb01 Minifigure, Head, Modified SW Wookiee, Chewbacca with Medium Nougat Face Fur and Teeth Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Head, Modified {Dark Brown}

Even rebrickable labels the part as "Minifig Head Special, Wookiee with Dark
Tan Face Fur and Teeth Print (Chewbacca)" and it also lists both legs on
sw0532 and sw1253 as having Dark Tan Fur, but slightly different print patterns.

Minifig No: sw0532 Name: Chewbacca - Medium Nougat Fur
*
sw0532 (Inv) Chewbacca - Medium Nougat Fur
Minifigures: Star Wars

Minifig No: sw1253 Name: Chewbacca - Medium Nougat Face Fur, Dark Tan Leg Fur
*
sw1253 (Inv) Chewbacca - Medium Nougat Face Fur, Dark Tan Leg Fur
Minifigures: Star Wars

Minifig No: sw1184 Name: Chewbacca - Snow
*
sw1184 (Inv) Chewbacca - Snow
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

So I think the descriptions of these should change, because at the moment, they
are very confusing, and I'm pretty sure all the fur on these is Dark Tan.

Shouldn't these be viewed as minor colour variations? Just like this part
...

Part No: 3626bpb0664 Name: Minifigure, Head Balaclava with Face Hole, Stubble and Rakish Smile Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
*
3626bpb0664 Minifigure, Head Balaclava with Face Hole, Stubble and Rakish Smile Pattern - Blocked Open Stud
Parts: Minifigure, Head

Some of the shades in that are very pale, through to very dark. Trying to colour
match the print colours to plastic colours is an impossible task when there is
so much variation.

As Jennnifer's picture shows more clearly, it is not just the colour of the
print, it is the pattern of the print on the legs that's different as well.

I know the Rebrickable website has such a function, but the implementation looks

I don't know the exact answer to your question, but I would start with the
old version at https://www.bricklink.com/wantedXML.asp?showOld=Y
which probably uses simpler technology.

  Hello!

I have an awesome idea, and I hope you would be able to help me.

Our company sells Industrial agitators and mixers and one of our colleagues overseas
built this little model with his son ( see picture attached).
We love it! With the company’s 40th birthday coming up next year, we want to
make up little packs with these blocks to give to customers with instructions
to build their own little replica of our system.

Where in SA can I find a store to order specific blocks in bulk to make up these
sets?
I have asked the colleague for a breakdown of the exact blocks he used ( still
awaiting feedback).

Looking forward to your advice.

Kind regards,
Yolandie

You may have to shop outside of your country to achieve this. Looking at the
availability of

Part No: 3011 Name: Duplo, Brick 2 x 4
*
3011 Duplo, Brick 2 x 4
Parts: DUPLO, Brick {White}
there are not that many shops that have any quantity.
For the LEGO parts, I am sure you can easily find enough quantity; for the DUPLO
parts, you may run into the limits of worldwide availability depending on how
many copies of your model you want to source the parts for.

You will have to make a 'Wanted list' of all components you need and
the quantities. After that, you best use the [Buy] function to find suitable
shops.

Bricklink being a world wide platform for sellers with a catalog of 100.000 different
items in as many shops, there is a 'slight' learning curve involved in
using this site.

It appears completely identical to 87610pb19 which is 6447097.

I am new to inventories, not sure how this is resolved.

The seven digit numbers are called 'PCC' (Part Color Combinations) on
Bricklink. You can not compare these to the Bricklink part numbers without also
mentioning the color.
The mold number usually does match the Bricklink part number, but the PCC never
does.

If you find a new PCC mentioned for a particular mold (part number) in a particular
color, you can add the PCC here: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogReq.asp?itemType=P

In this case, make sure the part you have is indeed Flat Silver.

In my daily working programm, I have the possibility to replace part of a Name/

to find by typing %345678%).

Does bricklinK have a similar funktion to find all items that are on the site
with number + pb.../px... etc?

would be great if so, mostly for items that are decorated so that one can find
all decorated variants of a part by typing "number%" in the searching
field.

Thank you in advance

Only the * asterix at the end is supported. Like 3001pb*

You need to fix this duplicate. It may be in another of your wanted lists. Usually
this is caused when two parts in the catalog are merged.

In your list of wanted lists, the problematic lists are flagged.

Try to type an asterix after your search term like 2418* and you'll find

Just go to https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp and enter the set number.

However, this only works for sets that have been inventoried.
If you look at the newest of sets, they may not have been inventoried yet, or
their parts may not have a price guide value yet.

So if you have been checking only the newest sets, it makes sense that you have
not succeeded. Try an older set to check how it is supposed to work.

So... I'm still interested in any tips you may have, but it looks like shopping
from the set page is the way to go.

That's a possible strategy, but not the best. Take some time to familiarize
yourself with this website. It is a lot to take in. There are extensive help
pages (bottom of the page) and it may help if you browse through the forum and/or
search for similar questions there.

Your first step was to find a single part.

Your second step was to find a set inventory containing many parts.
If there's only some parts of this set you need and you find a single shop
that has them all, feel free to buy them directly from that page.

Normally, your next step is to collect the parts you want to buy into a wanted
list
. You can even make more than one wanted list and specify things like
used/new, the maximum price you are willing to pay and the quantity you need.

After you have made your wanted lists, you can go shopping effectively. It is
recommended to use the [Buy all] feature.
There are still some optional steps after this to manage all your purchases.
When time comes, you'll find out.

You've to wait until midnight EDT time.

5000 requests is easy, with pictures and pages it's like a hundred shop pages.

If you've pages and pictures in your cache it'll help.

You may avoid browsing "randomly" shops, and use price guides, wanted-lists,
easy buy, searches, etc.

Every time this comes up, I shake my head in disbelief that in 2023 an e-commerce
website still operates like this. Come on Bricklink, fix this asinine limitation.

This limitation is one of the things that enables members like yourself to use
the site freely without concern of performance issues. Unlike many other sites,
BrickLink is a treasure trove of useful data not available anywhere else. We
can't allow people to abuse this resource at the expense of our other users.

There are no plans currently to increase the 5000-per-day call threshold for
API or other requests.

Dear Russell,

Despite Sylvain stating the 5000 limit (for the API) and mentioning images (which
don't count towards this particular limit), the OP's report is not about
that limit but about the number of shop pages you can visit in a limited time
frame. That's a much lower limit. Can you please specify what that limit
actually is? It has been changed at some time to a limit in the hundreds. Please
re-evaluate the actual limit, as this problem comes up frequently and blocks
well intending buyers from buying.

For normal - fair - use, when preparing to buy from 10 shops only, I'd like
to compare what they have in store. With each shop having on average around 10K
lots in their store, and breaking up the browsing in chunks of 100 lots per page,
that's around a 1000 pages I need to view. The top-off limit seems to be
around 200 pages only. Not quite enough for normal use.

Thanks for your reply.

to prepackage them by 100/200/500. The first version was made out of 1x16 bricks
but the repeated opening and closing of the "jaws" loosens the connection
and it needs constant adjustments to stay tight. it was also 1 stud wide, so
when the jaws closed everything worked together so that they fit tightly in a
single row of 10.

During the redo I decided to try 2 rows of ten and it works if you do a lot of
jiggling. What tends to happen is a single tile wants to nestle between two
sets of two on either side (see photo). Is there something like a sawtooth plate
that can grab and align the parts?

For round plates, a 60° triangular enclosure works better.

You just have to count a little differently; for each additional row the total
size increases:
1 - 3 - 6 - 10 - 15 - 21 - 28 - 36 - 45 - 55 - 66 - 78 - 91
So with a 45 (9x9x9) + 55 (10x10x10) you get to a 100.

Yes, kind of.

(1)
Above the results on

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page

there is an option "Show first: [] Favorited"

(2)
In your wanted list settings at

https://www.bricklink.com/wantedSettings.asp?viewFrom=P

there is an option "Sort My Most Favorite Stores on Top and My Least Favorite
Stores on Bottom in My Wanted Items By Shop."

This has effect on the Classic Wanted List By Shop:

https://www.bricklink.com/wantedShop.asp?showOld=Y

Nicely found! .. only thing is that i need it on item level. This gives me the
number of items what are in my favourite shop. This is for solution 2

for solution 1 : I see the option, but it's still sorted on price

I know, it is not ideal.
You could make a wanted list for a single item, and show only that wanted list
in the above overview. You can sort the overview as well, using the dropdown
selector on top.

2335p43 Flag 2 x 2 Square with Black Falcon Shield Bottom Round Pattern

The difference is the shape of the shield. First issue is more rounded, with
curved edges that extend to the tip. The re-issue has a more triangular shape,
where curved edges straighten before reaching the tip (sharper bottom tip).

Thanks,

See https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562

Alternate is for instance when some copies of the set contain a brick with solid
studs and other copies of the same set have been found with this brick with open
studs.

Counter parts is for instance a wheel and a tire listed each separate in a set,
with the combination of both in the counterpart section. Similarly for unstickered
parts + sticker sheets in the main section, and the stickered parts in the counter
parts section.

In Suggestions, SylvainLS writes:
  In Suggestions, Ey.Has writes:
Another solution to the problem you mentioned:
Insert into the result the cheapest "set" that contains the item. If
I'm looking for a part of the set, I care less about the rest of the set,
I care that the item I'm looking for is there (and of course, the other items
on my list) I don't want to find a store that sells me 5 minifigures with
red pants, because in the end I'll settle for the cheapest minifigure which
contains these pants, because the main item I'm looking for is the pants.

There’d still be the problem of defining “cheapest.”

Cheapest is not so difficult to define, it is the actual amount you pay for the
item; the only uncertainty is the shipping costs in relation to the total order
amount as that adds to your total cost. And that only only when you have to compare
shop were this varies greatly.

What you do have to consider is the rest value of the assemblies you find. When
you need e.g. the arms and the legs, and both pairs are on your wanted list,
then both of them have value (But if the torso that's not on your wanted
list does have value to you? Nobody knows.) Even if you find a complete minifigure
to fulfill your need for arms, they also fulfill your need for legs. The value
of the legs for you is defined as what you are currently paying for those legs
while fulfilling your wanted list. It is cyclic, since when you find cheaper
legs, their value is less, and thus the complete minifigure might be not so profitable
to you anymore.

If it’s about choosing a store (Auto-select…), “cheapest” is already complicated
(shipping, fewest stores…).  Anyway, the feature is nearly impossible:

Nearly impossible yes, but impossible no.
When I started the major part of my collection, I implemented this 'advanced
wanted list' feature in Excel. I did have to feed it with information about
all part compositions that I was considering (mostly the plain and HTF torso
assemblies and the corresponding HTF minifigure assemblies, in the hundreds)
and I did manually pre-select the shops I was considering (also in the hundred).
It was a lot of work, it was very complicated, but it did work.

  the algorithm
already cuts corners for items you (really) want, it won’t have the resources
to add substitute items, that would blow the search space exponentially.

Not exponentially, but of some order of O(N2) I believe. Still more than I'd
expect from Bricklink. Even simpler suggestions to make the wanted lists more
tolerant with regard to variants have been denied by Bricklink as being 'too
complicated for new users' and 'we don't want this'.

I am not sure that the limitation on computing power is still a valid argument
nowadays. The argument of complexity might be void if an AI is trained on the
full catalog data. I would not expect a 100% best answer, but a suggestion like:
"You are trying to buy some parts of set X, have you considered buying the
set instead?" might be in the line of what the marketing people of Bricklink
come up with in the far future.

As I work through a client to do useful things with the Bricklink API, I'm
curious what issues other developers have experienced that may impact the robustness
any application.

One thought I just had was that there is no guarantee that the underlying data
is stable within the various catalog related resources.

An obvious example is assignment of part numbers. Clearly, they may change over
time. When they do, are new element ids assigned or would the element id be a
reliable way to ensure data integrity?

Would it be wise to preserve the old part numbers in some way either with a soft
delete or some other kind of deprecation flag?

I would like to work with the assumption that certain values are essentially
primary keys. category IDs, color IDs, really anything named xxxx ID. It seems
to me that the nomenclature in use implies that anything called 'id'
is immutable while anything else is fair game for modification during catalog
updates.

Thoughts?

There are numeric primary keys in the database, but unfortunately, those are
not exposed through either the API or the UI. I remember vaguely that years ago
I did spot some places where the primary keys were exposed, but I don't see
any of the catalog object ID's exposed anymore. You can tell from the changelog
that there must be some immutable primary key laying under the data that we see
through the UI.

Store Items still have an exposed ID. You can tell from the hyperlinks and URL's.
Other objects that have a ID=numeric URL are supposed to have an immutable ID:
Forum Messages, Forum Threads, Direct Messages, Wanted Lists, and probably some
more.
Color IDs are immutable, although merges may occur.

You probably won't need to keep the old Part Numbers, as you could always
trace back older part number references through Bricklink's catalog change

It would be wise not to limit yourself to only one country. Shipping from some

If you have a better idea of what you are looking for, you'd best make a

I feel it is manipulated, but is that possible?

Not possible (or very unlikely as there are 16.442 stores and none is experiencing
your problem).

Check your store currency versus your display currency. It sounds like some currency
conversion is going on between what you entered/see (NOK) and what is actually
stored (maybe USD?). If so, this is a setting on your side that you can correct.

Hello. I think you know the lego set with the Mercedes F1 car and the Mercedes

F1 collection. The problem is in the build description the piecelist of the two
cars is mixed. I don't know how i should start to find out which pieces i
need. Could anyone please help me

1) Download the 76909 building instructions from lego.com
2) Part out the set on Bricklink in the 'Want' section to a new want
list
3) Remove the parts needed for the 'AMG project one' car from the want
list using the building structions booklet 2
4) When finished you should end up with a want list with all parts needed for
the F1 W12

Use Studio. Import the set (i.e. the parts of the set) and built the racecar
digitally, following the 76909 instructions you downloaded from LEGO.com.

Then you can experiment with different colors while simultaneously seeing availability
and trying out alternative parts wherever necessary.

The final result can be uploaded as a wanted list on Bricklink.

  Hello everyone,

I've been using the Bricklink API to retrieve pricing information for different
parts, and I'm having an issue with the "Price Guide" API endpoint.
The endpoint returns a lot of data, including the minimum price, maximum price,
average price, and a list of all the sales records, which can be a lot of data
to process for parts that have been sold frequently.

Ideally, I would like to retrieve just the total quantity sold and the average
price for a part, without having to parse through all the sales records.

Is there a way to retrieve just the total quantity sold and the average price
for a part, without having to parse through all the sales records? This would
greatly simplify my code and make it more efficient.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

In the API, no.

An alternative: For most common parts, you could use Studio and access the JSON-data
it caches for each part. Caching is refreshed daily when you run Studio. One
file for each part, containing info about all available colors.

See the %AppData%\..\Local\Stud.io\BLBrickMetaInfo\ folder.

Are you using the BrickTinker browser extension for Chrome? If so, there is a

that is turned off.

  Hello !

OK, let's better explain :

#1/ Create a Wishlist from the set 31124 / Small Robot
-- you'll have Black / Dark Azure / Dark Bluish Gray / Light Bluish
Gray / Red / Yellow and Trans Yellow colors for 159 parts.

#2/ Open the wishlist and, into More Option, just select the Color Picker. You
have all the colors of the database...

So, according my point of view, I'd just need 7 colors into the selection
list.

Is this clearer ?

Thank you,

Vincent

Yes, now it is very clear.

What you see on screen is a dropdown list with all colors; this is part of the
user interface. This list apparently is currently not filtered on which colors
are actually present in your wanted list. You would like this list to be adaptive
to show only the colors that are used in your wanted list. Similarly to what
happens in a shop's inventory, showing only the categories and colors that
shop actually has. Makes sense.

I don't expect this to be implemented anytime soon though, as changing this
from a static list (= simply all colors in the color table) to a dynamic list
(= select all unique colors from your individual wanted list(s)) might be a burden
on the system (or the system's engineers).

Already in the rules at https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=41
but not enforceable as the definition of 'shipped' may vary around the

Also, without more in-between statuses, the work process of the seller may dictate
the time an order is flagged as shipped.

  Hello all,
I stepped away from my Lego collection for a while to get involved in other things.
Today I decided to dust off my old 8043 Motorized Excavator to play with it for
the first time in probably 10 years. Unfortunately I left the batteries in the
controllers and they leaked. I was able to salvage one controller, the other
I will need to replace. Not an issue, I have more.
The real issue is the motors are all VERY weak. This unit worked fine (as fine
as an 8043 could anyway) when I last used it a decade or so ago. The battery
box was clean, I had taken the batteries out. Tried new alkaline, nope. New
Lithiums, nope. All four motors are weak. The gear change won't shift gears.
It barely drives on a hard surface. It can't pivot in place on its tracks.
It reluctantly moves its arm VERY slowly.

Sorry for the long post, but does anyone have any ideas before I go trying to
replace all the PF components to make this thing work again?

As an aside, I put some batteries in my 8110 Unimog to try that instead. The
motor was also very weak in it, even with the lithium batteries that checked
out as 1.63-1.65v, but it did work. Are these motors or receivers decaying over
time? Thank you!

Also check that the cables are not damaged and causing a short circuit. I've
just had my entire collection of cables crumble in my hands.
Check the voltage at various locations, over the batteries, over the battery
box without cables, over the motor connection and over the motor when switched
on.

But the shipping costs should already have been taxed. The costs we are charged
by the post office or some private shipment company does already contain any
taxes like value added tax. If Paypal or Bricklink takes taxes on top, it means
double taxation. This is illegal.

Your claim is not true. If the postal charges are taxed (and often postal services
are exempt!), those are the taxes you deduct and thus there is no double taxation.
Even if you decide not to deduct the taxes you already paid, that's totally
up to you and not illegal.

On the contrary, Bricklink as a marketplace is obliged to calculate and take
the tax.

Since you already do part in Excel, I'd copy the order and wanted lists into
Excel as well and do the comparison there.

You can find all parts in all your wanted lists here in one list.
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/search.page?type=P&sa=1&storeSort=8®ion=6&sort=1&pageSize=100

You can use [Copy] + [Paste values] with only a little clean-up to do in Excel.

  Hi guys

Wasn't sure how to title this, so if it doesn't make sense, sorry.

I finally got round to retrieving the 70 or more Lego models dating from early
2000s from my loft and trying to replace all the badly damaged and missing parts.

It has taken ages already to check the completeness and create individual "Want
Lists"
for each model and I've now started to buy parts.

Each part in each Want List as it's model name as the "Remark"
to help keep track of what's what.

Each model only requires a 2-4 pieces, with the odd one needing up to 20.

So, I placed an order last night, which consisted of over 50 pieces, but nowhere
on the order can I find which model it was for, meaning I'm gonna have to
go through each of the 70 or some Want Lists to allocate each piece.

The way I bought was to find a part I required and then check the link in that
seller's shop to see what what else I required and clicked the Auto-Fill/Min
link.

I have created a spreadsheet in order to keep track of what I buy so I don't
end up buying duplicates or not enough of pieces where I require multiple, but
is there an easier way to disribute the received parts into the Wanted Lists

I have bought on Bricklink before and used a similar method, but not with such
a huge amount of models to take care of.

Wonder if there is a setting somewhere that adds the "Remark" to the
order receipt?

Thanks guys.

How do you know it is a minority? Since variants on Bricklink are generally only
split when there is a FUNCTIONAL difference, I'd say most buyers would care,
at least for some of the variants.

Bricklink has made their point in previous discussions: They want to make the
process for the buyer as simple as possible. Any suggestion as to add more flexibility
to the wanted lists (such as 'don't care if 3794a or 3794b' was
either ignored or rejected in full. According to Bricklink, the buyer should
get exactly what they order and the seller should ship the exact product as defined
by the Bricklink catalog.

Robert

100% - or as I mentioned in another related thread, if even there was a page
that automatically updated that tracked variants added to the catalogue. I'm
not sure how it works behind the scenes for it to even be feasible, but that
alone would be useful. Alerts would also be great, but having a page tracking
all variants would be incredibly beneficial because we could refer to it often
simply to educate ourselves to be aware that new variants of various parts now
exist.

Well, we have the Items Relationships log for Newest Relationship Items.

From the Catalog main page, What's New, More: Relationships

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelList.asp?viewDate=Y

However, we would need to be able to sort the results to show only the Similar
Parts with Different Molds and not all the pattern stuff.
------------------------------------------------

We have the Item Relationships tab and we can choose Similar Parts with Different
Molds.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRel.asp?utm_content=subnav

But then we can't sort the results by date.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelCat.asp?relID=4

This is a fabulous reference anyway. I would just routinely check whatever category
I was working on when listing Used parts.

Jen

You can sort by date if you choose [Show Dates] on one of the category pages
and then delete the category reference from the URL:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelList.asp?showUsers=&v=1&pg=1&relID=4&viewDate=Y

but indeed there are many patterned parts obscuring the more relevant variants.

The modified plates are also different with 6157 on the 11650 and 39767 on the

hold the modified plate.

Here it is compared with the White one from set

Secondly, I was unable to remove the wheels from my used 11650c02 without damaging
the plastic. Am I crazy or has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thanks!
Je

The other difference is the shape of the LBG wheel holder plates.

Part No: 6157 Name: Plate, Modified 2 x 2 with Wheels Holder Wide and Hole
*
6157 Plate, Modified 2 x 2 with Wheels Holder Wide and Hole

*
11002 Plate, Modified 2 x 2 with Wheels Holder Wide and Hole, Reinforced Bottom

Since these are deemed functionally different already, a new entry for the vehicle
base might be necessary.

You are confusing IC (Instant Checkout) and Onsite Payment which can be used
with manual invoicing just as well.
And the warning is there on top of every onsite invoice e-mail to the buyers
not to pay to an offsite PayPal account disregarding anything the seller would
say about this.

In Suggestions, Emporiosa writes:
Since marketplace tax inception, there have been countless posts about sellers
not understanding why they can't change an order to Paid/Shipped etc when
they've received payment by PayPal offsite. This is not impacting only small
sellers. The following two very recent threads are from a small store, and a
very large store:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1395788

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1398000

As it obviously not clear to many, especially those who have been around for
a while and have previously had no problems accepting any kind of offsite payment
such as e-transfers, cash, direct PayPal payments, etc... It would be beneficial
to have a warning at the top of an order page to the seller to say that this
order has automatic tax collection on it, and should not be shipped if payment
was received offsite as payment must be made onsite (and a link to the page explaining
marketplace tax collection). This primarily impacts manual invoices.

Even that I'm not sure will catch 100% of these issues, but it could help
reduce them, and provide more awareness for sellers. Of course, if everyone used
100% IC a lot of these issues could also be alleviated, but BL does not have
any of the features of a more robust marketplace for handling shipping (such
as API integration with shipping partners, or even more granular shipping table
control). Speaking as a Canadian seller, our country alone has the most vast
variance of shipping rates I think I've ever seen, and we can't even
break down by province (which isn't granular enough either anyways due to
remote postal codes).

Long-term, I believe that more development on the shipping side for sellers could
alleviate many of the residual issues for more IC adoption. But a short-term
warning on these orders could cutdown a lot of the headache for both sellers
and BrickLink.

Putting parts in your shopping basket does not reserve them for you. Most likely
another customer happened to buy all the things you were preparing to buy. That
can happen. No ill will as nobody can see what's in your cart but you.

The recommended workflow is to gather everything you want to buy in a wanted
list and then - in a short time span - match your wanted list with actual orders.
The [Buy] tools may help you with that.

Some shops allow you to create orders in multiple batches. They will offer a
shipping 'keep order open'. Nowadays, these shops are rare - as this
does not match well with the instant checkout function.

Welcome to Bricklink, Michael. LEGO only sells parts that are currently in production,
but it is nice of them to have pointed you here. The Bricklink platform is also
owned by LEGO, but is totally independent.

Bricklink is a marketplace: a central catalog with tens of thousands of different
shops across the world that share the same catalog. They are independent shops
though, so beware of their store terms and shipping conditions.

With the link in the other post you can choose from all the possible parts in
the catalog and see which shops have your part available.

When you have found the part or parts you want to purchase, you might directly
buy them from the shops that you found. Consider that each shop will add shipping
costs, so preferably you find a shop that is in the neighborhood (i.e. EU) and
try to find all in the same shop.

If you have more than a few parts to buy however, you best add your choice parts
to a wanted list first, and go to the Buy page to help you select the best shop
or shops.

Bricklink takes a bit of getting-used-to, so take your time.

The newby questions are asked quite often on the forum, so it might be worth
searching or browsing the forum a bit too.

Enjoy and discover!

What's the trick?

(I did the same for MLCad where they showed up and were useable, so it's
not a problem with the parts themselves)

The trick is to go to the proper forum at https://forum.bricklink.com and browse
the posts there, or ask there.
The parts don't show up because they are not listed in the StudioPartDefinition2.txt
file, and you can't/shouldn't edit that file as it would break by any
update.

Only resolution for now: ask Cheenzo to forward the specific parts to the team,
or add the parts as custom parts instead.

Back in the good old days, any order could be changed from any status to any
other status i.e. Pending, Shipped, Ready, etc.
Then the status progression path was restricted, and orders could only be changed
to certain statuses depending on which status they currently had.
It seems to have changed again. I suppose in an effort to stop any nefarious
payment processes, an order which selected PayPal Onsite as the payment method
cannot proceed beyond Packed status unless BrickLink sees that the PayPal payment
indeed occurred.
I'm having an issue with this as I have orders that selected PayPal Onsite
(which is the default at checkout) and then paid through other means. Now while
I've been paid, BrickLink logged the fees, and the customer received their
order (and even left feedback), this order is now trapped in either the Processing,
Ready, or Packed status for the next 6 months until it is purged.
I'm going to have pages of these orders sitting as Packed cluttering my Orders
Received page and I cannot even imagine how many there will be by the time the
first one purges.

Nope. Unless you are in a state where there is no sales tax, you are actually
forcing Bricklink to skip the tax payments.

The payment was not properly performed, as it *MUST* go through Bricklink for
them to collect the sales tax. If paid offsite, the tax has not been paid.

The proper solution is to refund the offsite payment and ask the customer to
pay through the onsite link instead.

And to avoid this problem in the future, remove any offsite Paypal link in your
invoices.

It's perfectly normal to occur and depends on how you build your structure.

Every stud-antistud connection adds a little bit of sideways pressure in order
to maintain the 'snap'. All these pressures add up so that the bottom
of plates extends and the top is compressed. Result: bending.

This is one of the reasons that in the BDP you are not allowed to stack large
plates.

A solution is to build 3 layers instead of 2, so there are 2 connecting layers
where the pressure evens out. Preferably with the middle layer bricks so as to
have a larger height and tenfold rigidity.

I have noticed a rather significant mould variation on this part :

Part No: 2641 Name: Support Crane Stand Single

2641 Support Crane Stand Single

I reckon the original part "2641a" was not structually stable enough
so TLG made "2641b"

However, the "cut out" under the top plate was never used to any effect
in the two sets that used the part?

So TLG could have gone with "2641b" from the start ...

I only noticed this after buying a bunch for a MOC and I wanted to put a 4x4
structure uunder the supports. Not doable with half of them

This part was also made in black for the Blacktron prototype set btw

What do you think?

Cheers,

Ole

  Hi,
I was editing a wanted list and was calculating what I already have. When I either
lower the amount wanted or put in how much I have it comes up with 'Only
one item/color combination is allowed per list.

Does anyone know how to properly put in what you want/remove the wanted amount?

Thanks

The error points to an error in *ANY* of your wanted lists. This was not caused
by you, but is a side effect of a merge on the catalog side. You have to first
correct the duplicate in the list that is causing the problem, then continue
editing the wanted list you want to change. There should be a warning sign next
to the wanted list that is causing the problem.
