I currently can't confirm an inventory more than once. It would be nice to
be able to confirm an inventory again if changes were made since the last confirmation
so I'm able to confirm the inventory with the changes. For instance I have
previously confirmed

Set No: 7929 Name: The Battle of Naboo
*
7929-1 (Inv) The Battle of Naboo
185 Parts, 12 Minifigures, 2011
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 1

before part

Part No: 92747pb01 Name: Minifigure, Shield Elliptical with SW Gungan Patrol Shield Pattern (Undetermined Type)
*
92747pb01 Minifigure, Shield Elliptical with SW Gungan Patrol Shield Pattern (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Minifigure, Shield
Marked for Deletion
was split. I would like to confirm that the change
to

Part No: 92747pb13 Name: Minifigure, Shield Elliptical with SW Gungan Patrol Shield with Dark Pink Glow in Center Pattern
*
92747pb13 Minifigure, Shield Elliptical with SW Gungan Patrol Shield with Dark Pink Glow in Center Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Shield
is correct but I can't.

When I perform a search, say on Millennium Falcon sets, and then click on a set,
the weight and dimensions of the set are in Metric units. I live in the USA,
and have lived in Europe. So, metric is pretty easy for me to convert in my head.
But, for the people on the planet that use the Imperial system, and haven’t had
to use grams, millimeters, etc., metric is just a bunch of gobbley-gook that
required the extra step of converting somehow..

Feature Suggestion: Add a setting in the settings menu that allows the display
of Imperial units instead of metric units.

p.s. May the flees of a thousand camels come to rest in the armpits of all those
who comment with: “Everyone should just convert to metric!”

I would love to see a feature that included an auto email alert function.

Say if I were looking to buy a specific element / color but didn't want to
pay current prices listed, I could set an trigger point where specific parts
listed at a specific price (or lower) would trigger an automatic email to let
me know.

When I want to buy something under the “Items for Sale” tab, all of the items
from all of the countries are listed.

It would be nice to see only USA sellers.

Under the “Price Guide” tab there is a way to change the settings to see only
USA prices.

Can that also be applied to “Items for Sale?

Thanks

If I open this page

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=8017-1#T=I

the inventory shows "Match ID 1" in the counterparts, but if I open this page:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8017-1

the inventory shows "Match ID 99". Is this a known bug?

A bricklink user may be an A + buyer but a mediocre seller. I’m dealing with
a seller who’s had bad reviews, ranging from water and crush damage to an order
that was cancelled without explanation. But this user has stellar buyer reviews
that reflect his overall rating.

If there’s not already, there should be a way to filter between these two types
of reviews so that users aren’t stuck with a bad seller who’s being advertised
so positively from their reviews as a buyer.

For a long time, there has been a lot of new buyers with (0) feedbacks ordering
from my store but ended up not paying, which I have to manually cancel the order
after a few weeks or so. Sometimes Bricklink charges me service fee across the
month for these orders that are not paid and not shipped, which I have to wait
for a refund the next month after the order is cancelled, resulting in me paying
for things upfront without the necessity of it.

I am getting frustrated about new users making orders but not paying. It is a
burden for me (spending time calculating shipping cost and handling fee, sending
invoice, being billed by Bricklink) ending up to no avail. Sure, I could leave
a negative review on these buyers, I could ban them one by one... but what's
the point when they can easily make another fresh account and do the same thing
over and over again.

To deal with this, I have 3 suggestions:

1. I vaguely remember there was an option to disallow buyers below certain points
to buy from my own stop... it was probably Yahoo auction or somewhere else I
don't really remember... But I think this should be an option for sellers.

2. Perhaps the system has to make it even more clear that one legally HAS to
pay after clicking Order. Because apparently, people don't read anymore,
even warnings.

3. Charge sellers after the order has been paid, not when they are made. Imagine
if someone made a fresh spam account, orders EVERYTHING from my store but not
paying for weeks. I will end up with getting charged by Bricklink, and my sales
hindered because they are off the shelves. And said buyer will suffer from little
or no consequences whatsoever.

I hope changes will be made to secure sellers from such unfair treatment.

Is there a way to apply a cart to a wanted list?

I know there is the option to "Apply Order" to a wanted list. However I want
to play around a bit with my wanted lists to figure out the best prices before
I start the actual ordering.

Why not add a feature to the site where you can select multiple models and then
Easy Buy them all at once?

For example, say I upload two small models to the site and I want to buy both.
I could Easy Buy both models at the same time and possibly find one store selling
the parts for both models!

Hi,

I guess default photographs of Minifig Heads (specifically their expressions
and facial features) are being replaced with graphics.

I find the angled, turned-away graphics (example (a) below) notably less visually
informative than straight-on great photographs of a Minifig Head's expression
and facial features (example (b)).

Please retain good photographs as the default image for shoppers.

If a large effort is underway to create angled, turned-away, less clear heads,
I do not understand how this loss of immediate (i.e. default) visual presentation
data constitutes a site improvement. In addition to, for example beard/brow/cheek/glasses
alignment details, a straight-on photograph also informs the shopper of a Lego
paint scheme's older or newer production art quality.

Even if the great photographs are retained as alternates to the default graphics,
BrickLink administrators are adding more process steps to get to the best information
available, which is more time-consuming for users and illogical beyond uniformity.

I can obsess by the way, and love nice shiny rows of similar thingies, but not
if such uniformity is going to make any customer process more difficult.

Lastly the type of stud is no big deal for my uses, so I do not need a partial
top-down view. I suspect this is true for most shoppers.

Apologies if my overall image transition guess is mistaken.

Thanks for listening, Matthew

I suggest that members with 2 or less feedback have their forum posts moderated,
meaning that posts must be approved by a moderator before appearing in the forum.
This should resolve the issue of scammers joining BrickLink merely to post spam

When clicking on a store name in the list of open carts (see image), sometimes
I am taken directly to the cart (as anticipated), and sometimes to the store's
featured items page. The behavior seems to be consistent with each store, so
I suspect this inconsistency is caused by the store's settings for landing
page.

I would like to see the open cart links take me straight to the cart within the
store by default.

Thanks

Miffy.

Hi

I'm totally new to bricklink. Firstly thanks to all the people who make this
happen.
It's awesome!

One suggestion / request though...

We all know that shipping costs are the real killer when it comes to ordering
bricks. I recently purchased a bulk lot of used lego sets and had to order around
200 pieces that were missing. Ultimately I had to order parts from about 7 different
stores and three different countries to get all the bits I wanted. No one store
had all the bits I needed. It was a very pain-staking process to try and find
the smallest number of different stores that could fill my order. Ultimately
the price of each brick wasn't too important. It worked out a lot cheaper
to buy bricks at twice the price from half as many different stores.

I think it would be great if users could enter a list of desired parts and bricklink
offered an automated search that could generate the shortest possible list of
suppliers (the fewest number of different stores) that would be able to supply
all the parts needed.

My sincerest apologies if this already exists.

~Ben

Similar to the way amazon checkout works, it would be helpful in situations where
I have to meet a sellers shipping weight/price bands..

For Example.

If I find parts or sets in a shop I want but I know the postage for upto 1000g
is $20, but upto 1500g is $35

my cart is 1.050g, I would now be able to select 50g of items to (save for later)
and when I next shop with the seller, if still available the parts would be ready
for me to (add to cart) again thus saving postage.

At the present time if my cart is too much I have to remove Items I actually
want, complete checkout and then find the parts again later. Finding and adding
parts can be time consuming.

I was messing around trying to fix this page and for some reason added the "my
order note" field and now it just will not go away.

Please fix! It makes this page even worse, hardly thought that possible.

Just today the Orders Received and Orders Placed layouts were changed, with no
announcement from Admins. I am suggesting that Admins make a forum announcement
when implementing major changes such as the ones today. The announcement would
serve as a place to give feedback to and discuss the changes being made. While
the roadmap is a good feature, no one checks it everyday to see if any new features
have been implemented. The Admin announcements would alert everyone to the new
changes being made, and if they were announced a day or two in advance with a
preview, we could give our thoughts about the coming changes, and not have things
change so unexpectedly. Bug fixes would not need to be announced, just the improvements
and new features.

Thanks for your consideration,
M.Boss

Our store inventory pages have a subtle background color change that alternates
between each item.
I suggest that the catalog pages have that same feature.

When you go to buy items in your want lists, it ask you to select the want lists
you want to buy from. Well I have like 60+ lists (one for each set) so I have
to click ever single one each time I want to run a search to find items. But
there is a deselect button there so I can unclick all in one shot, but can we
add a select all button?? A small suggestion, but try clicking 60+ times before
you even start your search lol. Thanks

The item filter in the wanted list allows to select for "Wanted qty" but more
usefull would be a "Missing qty" filter or checkbox. I have many wanted lists
and some are 90% complete - but their parts still show up. I would like to have
a filter option to allow this feature: Show only parts where "Have Qty" is less
than "Wanted Qty" (Or the difference of "wanted" and "have" is greater x)

So many stores... could they be organized into new sellers, used, and, set sellers?
As there are some that specialize in these areas. I find it time consuming to
find reputable used brick sellers. I like to find parts from simpler times 1980's
before the franchises took over

Hi,

it would be very helpful if there would be a link directly to the catalog entry
of an item/set when browsing an item/set in any store. This way, you don't
need to go all the way back to the catalog page and manually search for it or
browse your way to the entry.

As far as I know this is now not possible (or I have completely missed it for
years).

I would love to see a sort option in the inventory listing of a set to see the
parts by average 6-month sold price for new/used.

Often I have a set that I don't want to go through the trouble of inventorying
and listing. I would however pull parts from the set that were valuable and
hard to find if I could easily tell which parts those were.

Thanks!

Is this a bug or is this a new 'feature'? Stoplisting a member should
prevent them from entering or contacting the store.

If Stoplisting no longer prevents a member from contacting the store, there needs
to be a new function to block members and prevent messaging (spamming) the store.

How would buyers and sellers feel about a best offer feature?

Of course I know no suggestions are ever implemented, but let's have fund
discussing the topic.

First the concept in general:

Buyers could submit offers to sellers for items they have on sale.

Quick example: Seller has set A, set A sits on the shelf for a while and buyer
comes along and offers 10% under the asking price for Set A and will see if the
seller will part for that price knowing it sells right then and there. When
seller accepts offer, it is a binding sale.

Of course there are all kinds of problems from offers, spam, lowballers etc.

So some obvious programming features to include or consider:

Make Best Offer optional

Make it only allowed for sets, minifigures or some combination and leave out
parts or include all

Limit the number of offers a seller can make per hour/day/week, etc, throttle
them

Allow sellers to report buyers abusing the new feature

I think BL admin should be implementing any features that can increase buying
or selling.

I would like a feature like this instead of messaging, which can be a total waste
of time.

Buyers could enter in shipping prices in their offer helping buyers know what
they will pay ahead of time.

So what does the community think?

Good idea/bad idea?

Any other programming/implementation features to be including for buyer/seller
protection?

Would you use the feature?

Thanks,

Happy Weekend,

Ken

Hi,

2 Requests..

1. I would like to see if I have a part in inventory when I look at a set and
it's parts. This connects to the 2nd request bellow.

2. It would also be useful to see if I have a part in inventory without having
to search my inventory for it.

I am constantly adding parts to my inventory. I first have to locate the part
by searching by type, color, etc. once I find it I then have to do a 2nd search
of the part number an cut/paste in search and change the dropdown to [my inventory].
Would be nice to have a GREEN Heart indicating that you have it in inventory
and links to that part in you inventory. This could go next to the RED heart
for wanted list.

SUGGESTION: Display items in stores in the exact order they were added, per
Lot ID Number when viewing by DATE ADDED.

Items listed for sale in shops are now appearing in mixed up random order when
viewed by NEWEST ITEMS.

I dislike this. When I list items, often I list them in a specific order on
purpose. And I wish for them to remain in that order. For example, if I list
all 2 x 4 bricks together, I want them to show up in that order.

The biggest reason why listed items should stay in order is to check for errors.
If a seller uploads a bunch of stuff but they appear in their shop all mixed
up, it makes it difficult to compare (to the original listing file) and trace
possible errors.

Until the site update, listed items always appeared in the order in which they
were listed, as the lot ID numbers were kept in order. I see no reason for the
now random ordering. Please correct this.

Also, I really miss the _horizontal divider line_ between each day's batch
of items. We always had that before and I see no reason to have removed that.
Please put back the horizontal divider line when viewing by NEWEST ITEMS.

Thanks.

Hi,

this one is very basic: I'd like to have a watch lists, that allows to "save"
certain items from certain sellers, to find them easily again.

Hello, imagine all your parts are in your inventory and you want to know if you
can build the set number XXXX. I know that the option "Parts from set ..." exists
in "Search my inventory" but it doesn't do exactly what I want. I've
been thinking about this :

When you go on a set inventory, each line the inventory shows if you have this
part in your inventory and if the quantity is enough. At the end of the inventory,
a list of the missing parts (with quantity) is showed and you can upload it in
your wanted list ...

example :

Consider the set XXXX composed of the following parts :

3 black part #1
5 red part #2
1 white part #3

Consider I own the following parts in my inventory :

8 black part #1
2 red part #2
2 blue part #3
8 green part #4

When I would go on the set XXXX inventory, I could read :

3 black part #1 : OK !
5 red part #2 : 3 are missing
1 white part #3 : 1 is missing

At the end you could easily add the following parts to your wanted list :

3 red part #2
1 white part #3

You could also easily substract the parts that you new from your inventory ...

Would it be possible to add this functionality ?

Please add the option to show the 'submit' button on top of the overview.
Please add a select box to remove quotes from the overview

Also in the Quotes Summary,
Change the 'Qty Left' heading in something like 'Total Qty in Inventory'

Is there any way to have the number of batches in an order show in the order
recap line of the Orders received page. In the order summary, there is blank
space at the top to have a line number of batches or a flag "MORE THAN ONE BATCH."
Finally in the order summary when you select print view for the order, have a
setting where that could include all batches. This would save on paper, confusion,
and weight if you include the pick reports with your orders.

Batches just require constant double check-and it seems they could be dealt with
programmatically. If I am missing a current setting my apologies.

I would like to have implemented that members that are stoplisted by me
- would also not be able to send me messages
- would also not be able to enter my store

If I remember it right, this is how it was before.
Today I received another request to unblock a member. I don't want messages
from member I stoplisted, for they are stoplisted for a very good reason.

I am stoplisted by some sellers I never had any transaction with, not as seller,
not as a buyer. It's very annoying when I spend a lot of time searching for
parts and fill my shopping cart and then get the message that I can't buy
from this seller.

Just an idea

is it possible to create a shopping list?

what I mean is that you select the parts / sets you want and then bricklink searches
all stores to see if anyone has everything you need in one store. The results
can then be filtered by cost or other headings such as country for easy reference.

I think this would be really useful.

(If this has been previously suggested, please forgive me repeating it, but my
very brief skimming of the suggestions page didn't find anything similar.)

On an Item's Catalog page I would like to see not just an Add to My Inventory
link, but a My CURRENT Inventory Qty (w/Link). I feel like I spend forever digging
around on the site to find a part and then spend an equal amount of time trying
to find that part in my inventory if I don't know the part # off the top
of my head to enter into the search bar. It would be one more shortcut to allow
easier usability.

Currently, BL messages sent to Admin are NOT copied to the sender's email
or BL message inbox like they are for messages sent to every other BL member.
Many messages sent to Admin are rather important or may need some follow-up.
So I don't understand why the sender does not receive a copy for his records
and reference purposes.

Please copy all messages to Admin both to the sender's email and BL message
inbox. Or at least put a checkbox asking the sender if they want a copy. The
same checkbox that is on every other BL message draft to every other BL member.

Also, why are BL messages to Admin not previewable? You draft a message and it
is sent right away with no chance to preview it for errors. Please make messages
to Admin previewable just like messages are for every other BL member.

Suggestion....

Be able to filter your own wanted list like you can while shopping in a store..
(ie show multiple wanted lists together while being able to turn off others)

This is to allow those of us with multiple wanted lists (ie completed, seraching
for, unordered) to only look at the lists needed.. right now you can only look
at the contents of one list at a time or all not 2 of 5 or 6 of 25...

It would be very helpful if you could include some horizontal lines (and possibly
an alternating light background shade) on the "Orders Placed" page between the
listed orders so the eye can easily track from the order number on the left to
the Status & Feedback fields to ensure buyers are changing the Status and adding
feedback to the correct order.

Good morning,

In my normal life beside LEGO I have to travel a lot. During that time I am not
able to manage any orders and my children are to Young to do this Job alone.

Now I have two possibilities at Bricklink which are more or less OK:
a) closing the shop completely - my experience Shows that it takes again a few
days after my shop is re-opened to receive some orders
b) using the announcement in my Settings as a dismissable message. The message
Shows when I will be back to ship the orders. I am afraid that the buyers can
oversee this banner although it's with red Background.

My Suggestion is to have a out-of-Office message like you can have it at - sorry
for using it here - eBay with a Shop. The buyers can see the message that I am
out-of-Office and that there could be delay during the shipment. And in Addition
the buyers are getting an additional message to their order confirmation which
was generated by the System.
The Advantages are that there are two ways of Information of the "delay" for
shipment and that the late shipment is not negative for me (Feedback System at
eBay).

I know that I could Change the auto-Messages in my Settings - but I guess I will
Forget to delete this sentence after return.

Any comments are welcome.

Best regards from Paris (just on a Business trip),
Oliver.

I suggested this in the past with little to no response but I would like to be
able to have a different minimum order threshold settings for domestic and international
orders. Personally I'm tired of having small value orders that have high
shipping rates eat into my paypal limit. Even the cheapest international shipping
price isn't so cheap anymore. If I get bashed for being a cheapskate so
be it, but I'd like to get everybody else's input on this too.

Beyond the feedback system, which has its nuances. I'd be great to see stats
for sellers, in particular:

- Average time to invoice
- Average time to ship from payment
- Average time to respond to buyer emails

Ranking sellers on this as a badge (i.e. Top 10%, etc), would help buyers beyond
the Feedback system.

I don't know if this has been formally suggested before, but I suggest that
BrickLink revise the format of the Store Terms and Checkout pages to more clearly
show any and all fees the seller will charge for that order.

First, the checkout page... BrickLink should automatically calculate and show
any and all fees that will be added to the order. This is NOT about calculating
shipping. It is about calculating only fees. As such, it should be much simpler
to code. In their Store Settings, each seller will be free to set their own parameters
regarding any fees they may or may not charge. If the fee is conditional and
something like a fee of "up to $1.00" for orders "less than $10.00", this can
also be easily coded, input by the seller in their Store Settings and automatically
calculated by the BrickLink system at checkout. If a fee is not shown on the
checkout page, it cannot be charged later by the seller.

So, on checkout, the page could begin by reading something like:

Order Amount: $88.50
Shipping: To be determined
Packing and Handling Fees: $1.00

OPTIONAL additional line items can include State Sales Tax (if any, for US sellers)
and VAT (if not already included in the prices). Although this option is NOT
part of this suggestion and can be discussed and added later.

Second, the Store Terms page... Information about any and all fees should be
required to be clearly stated at the very top of that page with a minimum of
text (maybe 80 characters or less) to explain it. Information about fees should
not be buried deep in the text of long terms and conditions.

Anything that more clearly shows up-front the fees a buyer may have to pay should
be good for everyone. And, as a seller who does not charge fees on most orders,
I like the idea of my checkout page saying: "Packing and Handling Fees: $0.00".

I anticipate someone will ask how BrickLink will be able to code all the different
fees charged by sellers. First, for this suggestion to work, BrickLink needs
to limit the fees that can be charged. I would include the following as permissible
fees:

1. A simple fixed fee on all orders, or on all orders below a certain amount.
E.g. $1.00 fee on all orders, or $1.00 fee on all orders below $10.00.

2. A variable fee *UP TO* a certain amount on all orders, or orders below a
certain amount. E.g. UP TO $1.00 fee on all orders, or UP TO $1.00 fee on orders
below $10.00. The seller will need to set points where this variable fee changes.

3. PayPal fees (in countries where they are permitted). E.g. 3.9% plus $0.30
for all orders being paid via PayPal. Since most sellers that charge PayPal
fees base it on the total payment amount including shipping, and since shipping
may not be known in advance, sellers will just have to slightly increase the
percentage of the order amount to compensate for the fee portion on shipping.
BL will also need to limit the availability of this fee only to sellers located
in countries where PayPal fees are allowed to be charged to buyers. Thus, this
fee would NOT be available for US sellers.

4. Lot fees. E.g. $1.00 fee if there are 50 or more lots in the order, or $1.00
fee if the average lot amount is less than $1.00, or $0.10 fee per lot for all
lots after the 50th lot.

I know some here do not like lot fees, but BrickLink has allowed them for 14
years now and they do serve a legitimate purpose. I ask that you do not let
your aversion to lot fees (or PayPal fees) cause you to vote against this suggestion.
Instead, consider the entire package and the fact that this suggestion will
make fees more clear and obvious to you and all other buyers.

Please provide the ability to HIDE specific forum threads. By this, I mean that
if I HIDE a specific thread, I will no longer see ANY posts in the thread or

Some threads can go off the rails, and they crowd out the other more relevant

Is there a way to print a wanted list check list? I have done by going through
each page & printing off the pages but it seems to waste a lot of paper & & toner,
spacing the items weirdly as well, maybe there is already a way to do it but
I can't find it?

I like to check back through my Lego before I place an order so i'm not needlessly
ordering items, which I may have overlooked when first going through the inventories.

I know that minifigure listings on BrickLink do not include utensiles/weapons.
And some stores will sell minifigures with their respective weapons. I do not
have a problem with this, it makes sense. However, I would like to recommend
some kind of system that will at least tell you which utensiles/weapons go with
each figure.

Say that I wanted to buy Mr. Freeze

Minifig No: sh049 Name: Mr. Freeze, Medium Blue
*
sh049 (Inv) Mr. Freeze, Medium Blue
Minifigures: Super Heroes: Batman II

from set 76000

Set No: 76000 Name: Arctic Batman vs. Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice
*
76000-1 (Inv) Arctic Batman vs. Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice
184 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 1 Book, 2013
Sets: Super Heroes: Batman II

If I also wanted his freeze ray, I would have to find the instructions online,
find his assembly and lookup the specific pieces for that weapon. It would be
nice if there was a link on the minifigure page that gave his weapon inventory.

I'm looking for a feature within Bricklink that can tell me which parts only
have appeared in one set. This information is already within bricklink, just
not displayed as a list anywhere.

(another forum poster suggested that since we already have a MOST common parts
function, a LEAST common parts function could be a solution - as long as it takes
into account color, leaves out parts in colors that never appeared in any set,
and includes more than 25 in the list)

This will be very helpful to me and others, as noted in this thread: http://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=842426

I have a huge bin of my childhood LEGO, and unfortunately I did not keep all
of my instructions. This list would be very helpful in figuring out which sets
I have. For example,

Part No: 2826 Name: Windscreen 5 x 8 x 3
*
2826 Windscreen 5 x 8 x 3
Parts: Windscreen
only appeared in dark blue in 1 set. I have this
part, which means I have the parts for

Set No: 6175 Name: Crystal Explorer Sub
*
6175-1 (Inv) Crystal Explorer Sub
152 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 1995
Sets: Aquazone: Aquanauts

Thank you for your consideration!!

Back on July 13th CS_Sean informed us that you use a help desk software called
Smarter Track. http://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=836748

In his message he said: .... Right now we're not using the Smarter Track
portal
as we already had the Help Desk page set up and usually everyone can find it....

Hmm. Well the other day when I had a technical answer I searched and searched
on Bricklink for this new help desk and I couldn't really find it. I ended
up sending an email to admin@bricklink.com and I am happy to report after some
back and forth and many replies from Jaclyn, the issue was finally resolved.
(Big thanks to CS_Ryan, who ultimately fixed the issue after I forwarded my
emails from Jaclyn to him)

Anyways fast forward to today. The forum is flooded with replies to a post about
non-payment of fees. Really all the OP was asking was how do I pay my fees and
how do I get my store back to where I can sell! The thread has been inundated
with people berating the OP about how silly he is that he didn't pay on time!
Post with questions about technical issues or payment issues really shouldn't
even be posted in the forum, as it is no longer the communities role to answer
these questions. There are now people who get paid a wage to answer these questions.
I feel though that the OP felt it best to use the forum because either A) he
couldn't find the help desk or B) the old help desk is nothing more than
an email form that you have no idea of where or who those emails are going to.

Anyways based on Sean's post I just searched google for bricklink smarter
track and found the elusive helpdesk, it is setup here:

http://helpdesk.bricklink.com

Apparently I did have an account there but my Bricklink password didn't work
so I reset the password, logged in, and guess what?!? My previous emails with
the admins were there, as well as a status of what was going on. it is actually
a pretty handy tool. So my question/suggestion is, if you are going to utilize
this software, why not have link to it in the open so that others can utilize
it? This would cut down on questions in the forum that should be, being answered
by the people paid to answer such questions. And leave the forum open for general
discussion not constantly answering and sometimes assuming things about policy.

So after all that here is the suggestion. If you go to the Help tab up top it
takes you to: http://www.bricklink.com/helpMain.asp. Great page as it answers
alot of quetions. But at the bottom there is a link that says Contact Bricklink
underneath of which is a link that says Help Desk. That link currently goes
to: http://www.bricklink.com/helpDesk.asp. This page once again is helpful
as it has answers to some common issues, but then if those answers don't
work it gives an email text box. My suggestion is, remove those text boxes and
just put some simple text, that says "If the above solution doesn't work
please file a ticket with our help desk. And that text can be a link to http://helpdesk.bricklink.com

The advantage is they will be creating a ticket that they can then follow up
and see that it has indeed been read. Currently when you submit an email there
is no way to see if they got it, if it is just being ignored or what. The help
desk is a powerful tool in your arsenal admins, now you just have to make sure
people are using it!

Right now when people ask how do I get help, I see lots of reply's saying
message Jacylyn, message Sean, email admin@Bricklink.com. There are 100 different
ways to contact you guys. There should be one method, and then you all can see
every message. That way if Sean is on vacation (which maybe he is since his
last forum post was on the 16th of July) or worse yet no longer employed, then
every CS sees the issue and can jump on it. Rather than just one. The standard
answer to how can I get help? File a ticket in the help desk located @ http://helpdesk.bricklink.com

I am afraid that the answer is going to be, why sure this is all setup to be
linked in BL 2.0!! But noone knows how far off BL 2.0 actually is. This is
an easy fix that can help the customer service response time right now in BL
1.0!

Thanks for reading!

Hi,

I would be happy when you could include the seller option to enable/disable PayPal
for countries with Euro currency

Countries see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro#Direct_usage

Reason: Everyone within the Euro currency zone can pay via bank transfer and
this is free of charge for sellers and buyers. It's also very fast (payment
takes 2-3 days). But seller could save unnecessary PayPal fee.

Thanks,
Markus

Please make PayPal acceptance into two types (either of which the seller can
specify).

One would be 'seller accepts PayPal from buyer's country'

The other would be 'seller accepts PayPal from seller's country'

The first indicates that you accept cross-border PayPal, the second says you
do not.

This suggestion is a result of a growing number of orders that I have received,
where the buyer is physically in another country, has a US based re-shipper specified
as the buyer's address, but wants to pay with cross-border PayPal. Buyers
are using the address field to try to circumvent the country list that the seller
will ship to, when in reality the situation is more than where the seller ships
to, it is also a cross-border payment issue.

Thank you.

I was playing around with the reporting feature today, and I think it needs some
tweaking. Kind of hard to do for me, as logging out causes the system to require
me to log-in in order to report something, but I wanted to see how the general
public sees things. I did notice a lot of things have slipped by without being
reported, and took care of them. Anyway, I was able to determine that there doesn't
seem to be an easy way to report forum TOS violations. Perhaps a link for reporting
spam, flooding, swearing, etc. could be added to each message. Then, when a user
clicks on the link, they would click on a violation, add a comment if needed,
and the report message is sent to us as it is now, with an automatic link to
the message.

Please forgive me if that already exists, as I can't see it.

Please add the tracking number to the columns available for display on purchases.
Currently the tracking number is only displayed after clicking into the order.

This column is available on sales.

Hello. Would it be nice to have an option to save a basket before placing the
actual
order and be able to open it wherever I log in .. ofcourse the items that sold
would update or be removed from the basket but still this would really help a
lot becasue sometimes it takes more than 1 day and 1 place/1 pc to figure out
what I need and want to add something later without placing the order.

When I do the order and close the browser I sometimes end up having the option
to open it next day and continue but mostly becasue I log in from more computers
I simply
come back and the basket is gone ... also this does not work well with more shops
opened at once.

This would probably help a lot especially with big orders where they simply cannot
be completed in 1 day or at 1 place and peaople have to move travel etc inbetween.

I would like to make the suggestion that there be buttons or a drop down menu
added to the order detail page, to allow for buyers and sellers to perform common
activities, without having to navigate away from the order and over to the 'problems'
area of the site.

For example, as a seller, I should be able to do the following actions from the
order detail page:

Remove items from an order
Cancel an order
Report a Non-Paying Buyer status
Respond to a Non-Shipping Seller status
Add Feedback
etc.

As a buyer, I should be able to do the following:

Request removal of items from an order
Request to cancel an order
Report Non-shipping Seller status
Respond to a Non-Paying Buyer status
Add feedback
Add a higher quantity of an ordered lot (if available, and the order is still
in a state that the seller is willing to allow it)
Change my preferred shipping method (perhaps the seller has taken a while to
pull the order, and now it needs to be shipped priority to get to the buyer in
time)
etc.

When browsing items inside categories in stores, would it be possible to implement
a few new options for sorting.

Current these are:

Item name, color
Item number, color
Condition, item name
Color, item name
Price
Quantity
Sale amount
Date added

However, it is useful to be able to search for only new parts, by price. So could
we have

Condition, price

added, as that will then show all new (or used) ones grouped together sorted
by price (like we used to be able to do). It is then possible to skip over the
used stuff and list new stuff by price.

Or better still, have a condition: new/used tickbox, so we can filter to only
look at new parts if we want, and then use the various sort options. It seems
strange to me that you can filter items for sale globally by new / used yet cannot
do this in a store.

PS. Being able to see the date listed is a good feature too. Thanks for adding
that.

I just started my adventure with Stud.io. I made the "Big Ben" set 10253.

It would be great to have a funcionality to feed a list of parts required for
a set to Stud.io and only those would be visible on the list. Without the tons
of other bricks I simply have no use for in given set.

Searching for parts was very hard in few moments. Not all bricks have the correct
name/design ID so searching using that criteria was sometimes impossible. Is
there any way I could correct the names by myself?

Currently, when I move on to 'buy' the parts/ mini figures on my wanted
list, there are a few sort options - one of which allows the shops that provide
most of the items on my list to appear first - this is a great improvement from
a few years back! Is this concept in the process of being further developed to
include more search options and if not, could the brick link team consider this?:

Is it possible to apply a similar sort option to other variables such as price
(lowest price first) and also postage (lowest cost of postage first)?

This is kind of covered for price when I check individual items, but it
is not currently possible (as far as I'm aware) to locate the best store
for me which includes both the lowest priced parts AND highest quantity of wanted
items.

To take this one revolutionary step further, it would be great if sellers had
to state their shipping policy in a set format. For example, each store would
have to fill out a table containing price per weight and different regions of
the world.

Many stores already do this, but if it were a compulsory action, this could lead
on to the cost of postage being included in the combined search I have already
suggested.

Therefore, when searching for the best store to buy from, brick link will automatically
sort the stores by the store with the most items on my wanted list first, the
store with the lowest priced parts first, AND the store with the lowest p&p first.

If it would be impractical to contain all these sort options at once, perhaps
they could at the very least be done individually?

Thanks for your time

Scenario:
I have 800+ wanted lists (one for each incomplete set)
I want to search by shop for any wanted list that starts with "Bri" and only
has 1 part on the list.

Current:
I have to use the search function "Bri" and deselect all (some 300 lists)
I then scroll and click the checkbox for all that only have 1 part

Preferred:
Advanced search criteria for the search functionality when searching wanted lists
(could apply for instore wanted list searching too). These include;

Number of items on the list
That contain a remark with text = xx
Option to include AND or OR statements
That contain NEW and or USED parts flag

SUGGESTION:
BL development team needs to implement a validation process to validate any changes
made to BL prior to live roleout. This should include the use of personas,
a focus test team, and potential involvement of community members.

This is common industry practice for any software development team, and is needed
if BL is operating in a Scrum/Agile development fashion (which appears to be
the case).

--------------------------------------

I REALLY like how BL is finally starting to implement some of the
suggestions from the BL community. Many of these changes are positive, and I
commend BL for starting to take action to improve the website.

Having said that, too many of the changes are seemingly being implemented without
any sort of validation or consideration to what the impact will be. It is
like the developers working on the site have no process to prove-out the changes
prior making those changes live.

Case In Point:
A new 'color' box was added to order line-items to help with color-picked
parts. This was implemented in HTML as a 'background' color. On-screen
this looks good, but to print you must enable background printing. This, in
turn, caused the entire page to print, which was too much. So BL removed all
background color, made the order page completely white (even overriding default
browser settings) and added a thick black border around the order.

Problems with this:
(1) To print the color boxes one still needs to change print settings specific
to BL. Then change back the settings for other websites.
(2) If you DO print orders, you now have roughly doubled your black ink
comsumption due to the unneeded black border
(3) If you DO NOT print orders, you are blinded by the glaring order page.
This is bad for your eyes and bad for your monoitor.
(4) You cannot override the layout/color scheme due to webpage implementation

All of these problems should have been identified and addresses prior to the
constant changes being implemented. A proper validation process would have identified
the root problem (i.e. how the color boxes were implemented) and created a solution
to fix the root problem rather then its symptoms (i.e. unable to print the color
boxes). This would have resulted in the issue being identified and corrected
(i.e. implement the boxes differently) before the new feature was mode live on
the website.

Hello. I'd like to be able to search for store descriptions of items in the
general search - often stores will write htf or rare when it's a non production
part. Currently you can only search when you're on someone's actual store
page, but that requires already knowing that a store has the parts. I want to
find the stores that sell these parts. Is there already a way of doing this?

And another suggestion - being able to find all the non production parts in a
particular colour - I'm sure toy looking for dark turquoise and blue and
old light grey and dark grey.

Best wishes
Guido

There was a post earlier about bricklink over seeing bad sellers, I cant remember
where. I vote yes to a complaint section to have administrator's review
complaints about poor seller's. I received a order I placed a while back,
well first off I never recieved any messages back from the seller, they mailed
out the package 5days after there store terms sead they do.not usually a problem
since I typically send a message like ( hi just checking in to se if the payment
got to you thanks) the seller always contacts me back with yep got it will be
sending out soon got a little bizzy. That is no problem but from this seller
nothing.

so when the package arrived I was very unhappy now take a look at the packaging(
lack of bubble wrap ore any type of protection. But I did get some religious
propaganda that I didn't order. And yes the parts were just in thin cardboard
with tape around it from post office. I have not left feedback yet was waiting
to calm down. Will update in a bit if you want the name of the seller pm me for
now till I post the feedback.

Hi,

I wanted to see how much would cost me to built a set from pieces, using the
Wishlist feature.
After I parted out the set I ended up with a 13 pages wishlist (there is no way
to display more than 25 pieces on one page, which is annoying). The apply price
is a very handy feature but I could not find a way to apply it to the whole wishlist
so I had to apply it page by page (all 13 of them!).

The problem is now I can't make a summation of all the prices in order to
find out the overall wishlist "value". As there is no other way of exporting
the wishlist I'm stuck because I can't add by hand 300+ prices.

So, my suggestion is to make a way to list the "wishlist total price (value)".

Thank you!

Please restore the max price filter in a store's wanted list results so that
it hides overpriced items. Or at least gray out the entire entry so that it's
easier to find the items that are under my max price. It can of course be an
option alongside the other filters.

Simply showing overpriced items with the price in red is makes acceptable prices
very hard to spot, especially when the good prices are in black like all the
other text. I use the wanted list extensively to find utility parts at good prices
so I can pad out my order. Having a store turn up hundreds of overpriced results
when they only have 5 parts that fit my criteria is useless.

Do we really have to now go through each Wanted List to apply an order's
contents? The old way had an option to let you remove those items (in bulk) after
ordering/invoicing. It would be nice to have that option back, instead of this
new system that does not seem to allow removal of those items until the user
goes back to each individual Want List.

Even putting that "Apply Order" button on the Main Wanted List (or from the Orders
Placed) page could help.

For instance, I received an order with missing pieces. Now it looks like I have
to go through each Wanted List (currently 9) to see which one the missing items
belong to, in order to add those pieces back.

Also, having the Wanted List name listed by each piece on an Order could possibly
help users with multiple lists as well.

Ability to Duplicate wanted list, so second new wanted list would have all the
same parts as the first wanted list, with the number '2' at the end,
so we can keep our original colour scheme plus mess with the colour scheme of
second variation.

Say I have a wanted list for a complete custom airplane.
I'd like to be able to duplicate the wanted list as 'wanted list for
plane - 2', and set up a different colour scheme for all the same parts in
the second new list.
So when I'm making a bulk order for customers, I can easily order lots of
colour scheme A, or colour scheme B of the airplane.
As a simple example.

When opening a wanted list in a store it now shows everything available from
that list, even the items that are already fulfilled (want: -).
It would be a real timesaver if I could filter out the items that are fully done.

I have always had a problem with vagueness when sellers say a set is complete.
When a seller says a set is complete I don't know if that means its just
all the pieces, or if its all pieces, instructions, and box. My suggestion is
that when selling a set there are three bubbles to fill. One to fill if it has
all pieces, one for instructions included, and one for original box included.
That way buyers can know for sure that they are getting a "complete" set. Thank

Hi
Since the website is now in another hands (since a certain amount of time now),
i am afraid that Bricklink start to capitalize in some weird ways and decide
to show some advertisings (for anything) in one or another corner.

My suggestion is to keep this website clean, for the comfort of all members.
This is a important trait of Bricklink since the beginning.

Thanks
from all members

I would like to have an option that will show which stores have the highest concentrations
of items that are on my wanted lists. If this already exists, how do you use
it?

After you have posted feedback for an order that has been shipped used to be
one click to take you back to orders received after feedback confirmed so you
could leave feedback for next order, now its not so easy to get back to list
of received orders.

Another option could be ability to post feedback for multiple orders like you
can do on ebay where you scroll down and put in feedback then post it all together.

Please make it so that people can see the entire description of an item instead
of part of it, because my descriptions for some items are long and it cut them
off. It would be much appreciated. XD

Most of it I like, and am just re-learning to navigate, as we all are. Patience,
patience, patience; I keep telling myself.

While I love the little icons at the top: Shop, Community, Help, My Store, My
BL, Want & Cart....one is missing: Catalog! I realize it is a sub-category when
you hover over 'Shop' but my gut instinct is for it to be a sub-category
in Community, not Shop. Then I realized....it should actually be it's OWN
icon up at the top, not a sub-category at all. It is important, and I want it
to be up there to access.

I miss the page that had 'My orders' and on the left was orders placed,
on the right was orders received. Now each under a separate place: one under
My BL, the other under My Store. No....I still want to have both together, and
then I can choose when I have the page showing them both. The way it is now,
it is too many steps to go from one to the other.

Am I making any sense with both of these?

Please inform your users OR fix this ASAP, this is the MAIN reason I use your
site...there is NO WAY that a 1000+ part Wanted List is going to get hand-jammed
and will drive me to your competitors!

Opened a bug report:

No option to search for ALL items in a Wanted List - can only search for one
page's items at a time, not select the ENTIRE wanted list and search.

thanks.

and received the following in response:

Hi There,

Thank you for taking the time to write in. You can currently search all of your
items in wanted lists by using the Search page from the Wanted List feature.
However, items can only be modified one page (25 items) at a time. This is
a feature not a bug
, however, if you would like to see this changed please
feel free to post this on the Suggestions topic of the Forums so that other users
who feel the same way may vote on this. Thank you again for your feedback and
I hope we are able in time to adapt the website so that it is once again an enjoyable
experience for you. Thanks!

Sincerely,
Sheryl
BrickLink Quality Assurance

um...you broke how we interact with our Wanted List(s) and call it a feature
- honestly this isn't a user-friendly "feature"...and if SHOPPING is MODIFYING
then perhaps I stated it incorrectly.

please post support of this in response, I cannot figure out how to add a YES
| NO vote option...

When checking out, there is an "agree and continue" button (see example, I'm
using Marc's store, I'm sure he doesn't mind).

I think this should say something underneath - either:

"Clicking this button places the order" (if it does) or "You can review this
order before it's final" (if it doesn't place the order just yet).

I haven't placed an order under the new system yet, so I am in a position
of a first time buyer. It is not clear to me if the order will be placed if I
agree here.

It is not really clear to me if I am agreeing to anything yet. If the agreement
is not placed here, shouldn't the button just say "continue"?

The same wording is also used on a quote button (which I have used). Why do I
need to agree to anything when placing a quote? Surely this one should only say
"continue".

I am not a seller

I have a dozen "wanted list" based upon various projects

I have an inventory based on my ebay, BL and local purchases

When I "query stores" on a "wanted list" (or 2), I would like it to hit my inventory
first.

Any ideas?

I'd like to be able to click a link and see any forum posts that I commented
on or started. I don't have a way to know if someone responded other then
searching the pages for the original post

Not sure if this is a feature or a possibility, but can you search the sales
sections by country? USA/Canada/Europe ect.

Thanks in advance

I'm almost sure I've read forum posts about this before but couldn't
find it.

@ BrickLink: Please display the country flag next to the buyer/seller names on
feedback pages. It's just that simple.

LS,

I have a suggestion.
Would it be possible to add checkboxes in the inventories.
If I inventories one of my sets I often find items that are mentioned later on
in the list.
It would be very usefull to be able to put a marker in a checkbox so i know I
already inventorised that part(s). And later on maybe, you can delete the already
checked items and you hae a complete list of missing items, which you can then
add to a wanted list.
I hope I explained it clear enough. If you have any questions. Let me know

Kind regards

Ariënne

Hi.

A long time ago, when you clicked on "view cart", the estimated weight of the
items chosen by you was available, which helped buyers to know how expensive
the shipping could be.

Will that functionality be enabled again?

Thanks.

José.

"79 messages in this Thread. blah blah blah"

Could we have an option to stop collapsing the message tree? It's a great
annoyance while trying to read through a large thread.

I'm guessing the only reason it does this is because when the site was written
billions of years ago, web browsers couldn't handle large pages very well.
Now that they can, it would be nice to see the entire message tree without the
extra click.

Thanks,

- Josh
