Yes please.

You only need to look at sets (sorry, gear) like this to see why ...

I would like to be able to x out certain displays, ie the feedback.

I don't understand the purpose of the change? is it to enable mobile? because

Note also, I am making PRAISE: the current myBL page works.

I find much of the old one completely unnecessary, especially everything in the
lower half of the page. Nearly everything in the site map is unneccessary for
the MY BL page - it isn't about me. I'd prefer a cleaner page with a
single link to the site map for those that want to access it, rather than everything
in the site map on the MY page. After all a lot of that stuff is not about ME.
For example, the catalog section is not about ME and it is all accessible from
the SHOP tab. Same with stores. The forum stuff is accessible through the COMMUNITY
tab and so on and so on. Very little of that information is actually about me,
my store and my orders. It doesn't need to clutter a page about me, especially
if all of it is available within the menus.

There are so many links close together in the site map that they are next to
impossible to click on and get right first time if you are on a tablet or
worse on a smartphone. I'd much prefer an icon based screen with clickable
pictures rather than text links, even on a PC. I hope it is not just the My BL
that gets updated like this, but all pages.

Most of my first time customers have said that they had difficulty finding the
pieces they wanted when first coming to Bricklink. Perhaps a link on how to navigate
the catalog or use the wanted lists, or a guide as to how to learn what piece
you need on the main page may be useful to people first coming to the site. I
believe this should be prominent.

And the "How do I find Items?" page is not what I'm thinking about. Maybe
a short youtube video explaining where the numbers are on Lego pieces, what they
mean and how to look for pieces you don't actually have. ie set inventories.

Thanks for considering,

Tyson.

Below each page are the Helppages.

Wilbo, did you click on the link and read the page? It's not very useful,
especially for a new user.

Did you click the correct link, as it provides a buying tutorial explaining step
by step the process:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=10

My point was it should be more prominent than what
it is currently and more helpful. Which Jennifer has pointed out is in progress.
I hope when the video is done it is front and center on the main page, not buried.
The main page I believe would be used by new users most. I don't think very
many return users use it, but that may be a bad assumption on my part.

Tyson.

  Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you to Teup for writing this post. I've heard from many
other users about this and since we certainly have no intention of "killing"
the European market, nor do we want any users to feel marginalized, we've
decided to allow IBAN for new sellers again.

Here's how it will work:

-New sellers who have not upgraded from a buyer in good standing† will need to
go through the verification process to open their store and will also need to
request IBAN permission.

-New sellers who have upgraded from a buyer account in good standing will need
to contact the help desk to request IBAN payment.

†"Buyer account in good standing" = Has had an active account for 100 days and
has received positive feedback from 5 different legitimate sellers.

***All new sellers will be required to have at least one onsite payment method
available in their store in order to accept IBAN**

I'll be updating the help topic for onsite/offsite payment methods and will
mention this on the new seller verification page as well. If anyone would like
to request IBAN for their store, please send me a direct message.

Thanks!

Great news.
Thanks Bricklink for allowing it again for new sellers.

Offsite Payment - No longer available for new users as of June 8, 2017.
To cover various payment options, BrickLink also provides Offsite Payment Methods.
Please note that BrickLink cannot provide any transaction related support for
the Offsite Payment Methods listed below. All responsibility for Offsite Payments
is solely upon buyer and seller.

I'm lost for words. Does Bricklink really want to kill the European market
or something? In my real life I don't even know anyone with PayPal (or a
Credit card). In the NL €20,000,000,000 is spent in webshops per year, and almost
all of these transactions are bank transfers. Almost no-one that I know will
consider PayPal, certainly not since it costs money while bank tranfers are free.

IBAN has really become simple in use; Transactions are free, fast, and bank account
numbers have been standardised to IBAN recently. Interfaces for bank transfers
(such as iDeal in the NL) are thriving more than ever and are the undisputed
standard.

And now Bricklink is moving in the opposite direction.

They will lose the Dutch market, which is the 4th largest country on the platform
in terms of store count. Bricklink always seemed a bit America First but this
decision right here really changes my opinion of Bricklink. I personally will
survive since it doesn't affect existing stores and I will move more of my
business over to BO which does support bank transfers. But they will certainly
scare away lots of potential customers here, and for new sellers this is crazy
unfair. This is either a huge mistake or Bricklink just isn't interested
in the European market..

Please support my suggestion to re-enable IBAN/Bank transfer, also if you don't
use it. For an accessable and thriving site that benefits all of us, and a site
that is fair to everyone.. it's really in all of our interest if you want
Bricklink to be #1..

Hi Jaclyn,

Thank you so much for your feedback on this and most of all for the decision
to reenable it! I am very glad to hear this, not that it "affects" me in the
immediate sense but I feel much more comfortable about the future of Bricklink
now. Great news for alot of (future) Bricklinkers! Happy to run my business here

Cheers,

Mathieu

believe this should be prominent.

And the "How do I find Items?" page is not what I'm thinking about. Maybe
a short youtube video explaining where the numbers are on Lego pieces, what they
mean and how to look for pieces you don't actually have. ie set inventories.

Thanks for considering,

Below each page are the Helppages.

Wilbo, did you click on the link and read the page? It's not very useful,
especially for a new user.

Hello,

You are in luck! This project seems already to be in progress:

'Creation of a new user welcome message with a video tutorial'

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2453

I agree this will be a very helpful feature.

Jen

the Offsite Payment Methods listed below. All responsibility for Offsite Payments

Note the Shipping Cost Suggestion is already favouriting the more expensive tracked
parcel option over the €3.50 cheaper untracked parcel option.
The buyer selected the cheapest method.

Let users customize their My BrickLink page with BrickLink page links they find

The site map on the old My BL page was quite handy and must more condensed than
the full site map.

I would like to suggest that it be added to the new page in some form. Maybe
a button that when clicked opens/expands the old map without changing pages,
if possible.

Also, the new page is nice to look at, but it has too much empty space leading
to unnecessary scrolling. Only half of the page is displayed on a 22" monitor
w/o scrolling, whereas before 3/4 of the page was displayed with 100% of the
major info on one.

Comments from Submitter:
I have checked my original directions multiple times and my count of the above items seems to be correct.
The additional black plate is needed to build an alternate model of the ship as shown on the last page of the directions. Can provide scans if needed.
If there is any interest i can also provide a better scan of the front page of the directions. But i need someone who can tell me were to send the image.

I wanted to reply to the thread of the same subject, but it was locked by BrickLink,
so here's a follow up.

Quote from QA_Sheryl:
We would love to hear some constructive feedback about what you do not like about
the new My BL page. Without specific complaints we aren't able to make the
new page advantageous to users that don't currently like it. Please feel
free to contact the help desk with any suggestions for improvements.

The original post was right on the point: there is nothing to fix. The "old"
My BrickLink page is quite fine the way it is.

Seriously, there is nothing to fix there, please don't fix what isn't
broken.

The old page is highly practical: we can _immediately_ see everything we need
to know, and obviously without having to scroll anywhere. And on the same page,
without having to scroll, there's this very useful table of all links to
all of BrickLink. What else could one ask for? It's perfect.

The only thing that's broken with the "old" My BrickLink page is the huge
banner on top the messes up both the horizontal and vertical spacing. That could
be fixed.

I voted yes.

I continue to do approximately 10% non-PayPal BL orders ...money orders, cheque,
Interact (Canadian bank to bank) as well as International bank to bank and cash
on local pickup.

I don't like this trend towards PayPal only.

BL page will eventually be removed. We will remove the dialog box at the top
when the classic page is no longer an option.

How about making it smaller? The size of the dialog box is causing the layout
issues with the classic view. This is especially true on "unsupported" mobile
devices.

The same can be said for those who are using the new My BL page.

Set No: 60052 Name: Cargo Train
*
60052-1 (Inv) Cargo Train
871 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2014
Sets: Train: RC Train

* Add 1 Part 58123bc01 Light Bluish Gray Electric, Power Functions Receiver Unit with Dark Bluish Gray Bottom and Black V2 Print (Version 2), Complete Assembly (Alternate) (match ID 1)

Comments from Submitter:
The Powerfunctions Kit would either contain a V1 and 8 train wheel (meaning it was from 7938/7939 originally but receivers may have been replaced with a new one to avoid defectives), V1 and 4 train wheels (meaning new production), and V2 and 4 train wheels (meaning special production during the release of the 9398 and 41999 where all IR receiver production was V2 for the 10,000 41999's and a large amount of 9398's).

More information from this submitter pertaining to this request:

Back when the 9398 and 41999 released, pretty much every technic set and train
set advertised those coming with the V2, also. In fact, if you look at the 60051
pictures on shop.lego, they actually use a V2 receiver (2nd last picture) and
60051 was released whilst the 41999 and 9398 was still in production. When the
41999 and 9398 went out of production, so did the V2 receivers. The Volvo Front
Loader, in Sariel's Lego Workshop, he mentions his Front Loader came with
V1 receivers, instead of V2 receivers. This is because he got the set after the
production end of the crawler sets. Every set with an IR receiver produced after
the production end was packed with V1's or V2's.

And a correction from previous comments:

Special Production: there were 20,000 sets made, not 10,000, 8 train wheel to
8 train wheels, and receivers to power functions.

That would be handy. If they are ever going to rollout the instant checkout,
city/state/county will be imperitive info for both buyer and seller. We are over
in Juneau if your searching for local sellers

You took what I wrote and applied it to a completely different type of commerce.
My post clearly referred to e-commerce between individuals.

Your given example on BL members losing hundreds of dollars is based on occurrences
that involved actual FRAUD. If you ask me, it had very little to do with the
payment method, but had everything to do with BL not implementing an intelligent
solution against scammers.

You're saying bank transfers are not in the spirit of fair e-commerce, but
here e-commerce is absolutely huge to the point that entire brick-and-mortar
shopping centers go empty, and almost all of that goes through bank transfers.

  Voted no.

In fairness for security of buyers, I would only vote yes if sellers were required
to offer a payment option that allowed recourse at no penalty (fees, etc).

Over the years I have read many forum messages about buyers losing money due
to using IBAN (often in the hundreds of $, euro). Bank transfers don't seem
to be in the spirit of fair e-commerce between individuals. Registered businesses
may be a different story.

Aliexpress offers Buyer protection for IBAN payments.
If BL implements a buyer protection program, they could use AliExpress as example.

Is it possible to make a version of BrickLink Studio for
Virtual Reality? VR is the ideal platform for Lego
building, especially with VR hand controllers allowing
you to snap Lego bricks into place.
It also would be fun to build Lego together online
with Facebook friends, and shrink down to play/socialize with Facebook friends
inside Lego houses/sets.
And you should also be able to upload/download Lego sets to an
online Lego library.
Thank you for considering making BrickLink Studio for VR!

It would be helpful if the city/state was also listed on the item results page
when searching for lots, instead of just country. If a store or buyer is closer,
it can mean 2-3 days less in transit time for shipping.
