| Hello
We have 2 sets with faulty print box of Pet Shop (front of box shows 1332 pieces
vs 2032 official) - as relative new to selling appreciate help how best to put
it into the store inventory? Should it be a custom item, or should it be 10218-1
with custom image?
Many thanks in advance

| This is sort of akin to Number Six on your roadmap. I think.
Is there a standardization scheme in the works for items like these shown, and
similar items, where the length exceeds the footprint of the attachment plate?
If you're going by the scheme used for 6239, then 2430 ought to be a 1x5.
If you're going by the scheme used for 2430, then 6239 ought to be a 2x3.
I know this is bound to have implications all over the catalog with many modified
bricks and plates and other things, especially when you get into SNOT pieces,
but there's inconsistency within and across categories now.
One would think the overall x-y-z dimensions of the piece would be considered
every time...
I know this is going to require some quiet contemplation followed by noisy debate,
but some semblance of consistency would be really nice to have.

| Hi everyone,
my set came with a new minifigure head type with two holes and new
number 28621. It is already listed at Brickset:
https://brickset.com/parts/design-28621
Looks like the new mold is only used for transparent heads. All three trans-neon
green heads (1x plain, 2x printed) in my set are the new type while all other
heads are 3626c.
How should the new type (and the printed variants) be added to the catalog?

| I was trying to identify some Marbled Bionicle Rhotuka Spinner and I noticed
that only 2 colors show up in the known colors list. However, if you click the
link for Color Images it shows actual pictures of 13 identified colors. Why aren't
the other 11 colors shown in the known list? I have the Yellow Marbled and Dark
Red Marbled on hand if additional pictures are needed. The ones I have came from
a bulk lot purchased years ago so, I have no way to identify which set they are
from. My intuition tells me they were from either set #8748-1 or set #6620-1.
While I'm on the topic, does anyone know if the Spinners in set 8749-1 were
all of one color (I am referring only to the 4 Marbled Spinners without code)?
A standard mix of colors? or Completely random assortment of color?

Such as:
bricklink: 98138pb023
Tile, Round 1 x 1 with Black Number 5 Coin Pattern
Lego: 17968
FLAT TILE 1X1, ROUND "NO.24"
Obviously the Lego description needs some work, but I would prefer to see the
Lego number when it is known. It facilitates checking shop.lego.com for new bricks.

| At long last, it is time. By the end of March, my goal is to eliminate duplicate
catalog entries for sticker sheets:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelList.asp?relID=15
You can see that this has been moved from Section 11.1 to 11.2 on the roadmap:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2476
I have some ideas, but I'd like to hear yours - especially those of you who've
given this some thought over the past decade or so that some of us have wanted
it.
Sticker sheets are handled quite consistently at the present moment. How can
we retain that consistency while eliminating duplicate entries with the least
amount of disruption?
As a side note, how do you feel about the NA/International duplicate entries?
These are the same sticker sheets, but have different item numbers, differently-sized
paper backing, and in some cases a slightly different finish (matte vs. glossy).
I don't want to get too distracted with this particular side discussion,
but do we need to maintain separate catalog entries for these sheets? Do you
want us to?
Looking forward to hearing some discussion and seeing some ideas other than my
own to get these duplicate entries handled.

I know, there'll be pain with the renaming and whatnot, but it would be nice
if all the axle holes on all the pieces were named consistently and were referred
to in a consistent manner in the item number.
Then there's the issue of sometimes two things that are the similar have
two different catalog numbers and other times two things that are similar have
a single number and a note. So the whole handling of naming and suffixing is
kind of all over the place.
If that page isn't clear, hit me up.

Author: | yorbrick | Posted: | Feb 19, 2020 09:31 | Subject: | Custom prints/stickers ... | Viewed: | 207 times | Topic: | Catalog | Status: | Open
|
| There is still something I do not understand about custom items and LEGO/BL rules.
Modified Parts: All parts listed in your store must be genuine LEGO parts
in their original, unmodified condition. Custom printed, engraved, chromed, or
painted parts are not permitted.
Non LEGO Items: Certain non LEGO items that are deemed by BrickLink to be part
of LEGO fan culture may be listed. These include literature about LEGO products,
LEGO memorabilia, and items used to make custom sets (e.g. stickers, instructions,
and boxes).
As I read the rules, a custom printed (or painted) minifigure with genuine LEGO
parts is banned. However, the exact same design can be printed onto a sticker
and would then be allowed if it is used to create a custom set. This set could
be a minifigure - so minimally a head, torso assembly and legs. So custom printed
minifigures are banned if the print is direct on the minifigure, but minifigures
with custom prints attached to them via stickers are allowed.
Is this a correct view of LEGO's new rules?
Custom stickers would obviously be non-LEGO, but how does anyone know if a new
design they create will be deemed by someone that works at Bricklink to be part
of LEGO fan culture (whatever that means).
For example, I have a load of Brickforge custom sticker decals for torsos. They
have existed for years - are they part of fan culture? What if I create a new
torso sticker design, is that part of fan culture because stickers have been
used to decorate torsos (both officially and unofficially) in the past, or not
part of fan culture as the new design has no history and is not part of fan culture.

I have submitted a new part for an 8x3 flag with rod under 35252pb01. I did
this following the number for the previous decorated flag in the catalog, 35252pb01.
When i was confirming the inventory, i noticed that the white flag under 30292

the 35252pb01 listing is wrong and should be a 30292pb number as should the one

Are they different parts or is just a catalog error that i followed?

Author: | StormChaser | Posted: | Feb 7, 2020 14:45 | Subject: | February Roadmap Project: Old and New | Viewed: | 243 times | Topic: | Catalog | Status: | Open
|
| We are finally making serious headway with the catalog backlog. The catalog
change requests queue is cleared out.
In the spirit of trying to ensure that the Catalog Roadmap is not just something
to look at, I am continuing with the goal of moving through one project each
month. We have essentially had a January project (flesh to nougat) and there
is a new project starting today for February:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2476
What is this project?
This project involves accurately describing the differences between early (old)
versions of an item and later (new) versions. We need this for two reasons:
1. Using the words "old" and "new" were easy ways to avoid having to describe
actual differences between items. Set numbers in minifigure titles performed
the same function, which is why they were removed.
2. When a third version of an item appears, the old/new descriptors are useless.
Similar items should be described by their differences (usually the way in which
the later version is different from the earlier version).
There are around 500-1000 items expected to be affected by this project.
How can members contribute?
For the immediate moment, members may contribute by submitting title change requests.
I'm not sure how we're going to do item numbers yet, so hold off on
those. If you're not confident that you know exactly what this project entails
or need clarification on a specific issue, then please ask before submitting
a request.
For the immediate moment, ignore the additional topic bundled with this project
(looking at the use of with/without in titles). We may be able to include that,
or it may need to be made its own project. This project should also look at
the use of early/later descriptors since they serve the same function as the
terms old/new.
The goal is to wrap this up by the end of February. Of course, we also have
catalog work still to do and that takes precedence over projects - so this may
run over schedule.

| Found some frosted trans-light-blue 1x4 bars in a set recently and I'm not
comfortable mixing them with my current inventory. They are quite different and
I don't think a customer who orders several would be happy getting a mixture.
The additional notes state:
"Alternate item number 28697 is used for transparent colors. This mold variant
has no bubbles and number 28697 molded on it. It has been found in two variations
clear and frosted as showed on additional images."
So it seems the catalog admins are aware of the difference and have decided not
to reflect it in the catalog here? Personally I think this is a mold variation
worth recognizing.

According to the information which I found here

line
My with short line is from set
I have also two in my collection with long line but bought them years ago loose
without sets.
I submitted both as new as in this case sw0166 should be marked for deletion
as we don't know which one is currently sell under this entry.

| Hello,
I get a NAM (Shell) 2014 Christmas Holiday Giveaway from the brand Blokbrick
with seemed to cooperate with the Lego Company.
I've never seen these item and it's not listet in the bricklink.
Probably these set is an interseting item for the bricklink catalouge. If these
set will listed, I can send you better pictures, a tile list and the instruction
as pdf.
The parts are completly orignial Lego, the 1x1 Tile with the NAM Logo is printed.
Greetings from germany

| When adding photos to the catalogue, can you only add 1 at a time for the same
part?
I just added 2 photos of a new part that i added to the catalogue, one a rendered
photo and the other showing the part from 2 angles. Now it only shows the second
photo i added and the other has disappeared.
Cheers

| Hi
For now as we have more changes in discussion, can't we put the colours back
to how they were. I'm sure a few more days/weeks of flesh isn't going
to hurt us.
Then discuss with the Lego Company regarding changing all colours to their colours
- we are part of their group. What they say will be correct !!

| I had a crazy week last week and didn't get a chance to manually pull my
Brickarms inventory before Lego kicked it off the site. I was hoping it would
be somewhere that I can still see what I had in my inventory. Does anyone know
if this is possible? Otherwise, I have absolutely no way to find them in my shelves
without access to the old listing details. Am I just going to have to stumble
across them over time as I pull other orders and see them? I was hoping they
would go into stockroom with no option to relist or something like that, not
just completely disappear. I should have screenshotted it so I had a record of
my previous inventory and its location, but didn't get a chance to between
when I saw the notice and when they pulled the listings.

|
| in your list of item for the 1880 set, you mention 3 of the green plant flower
stem (3741), but to complete the set you need 4.
Also, you listed 4 green window 1X2X3 shutter, which is the case, but on the
original list of pieces, there is 8 listed, I don't know why.
have a nice day
