Yes, kind of.
(1)
Above the results on

there is an option "Show first: [] Favorited"
(2)
In your wanted list settings at

there is an option "Sort My Most Favorite Stores on Top and My Least Favorite
Stores on Bottom in My Wanted Items By Shop."

It is described in the title of both:
The difference is the shape of the shield. First issue is more rounded, with
curved edges that extend to the tip. The re-issue has a more triangular shape,
where curved edges straighten before reaching the tip (sharper bottom tip).

See https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562
Alternate is for instance when some copies of the set contain a brick with solid
studs and other copies of the same set have been found with this brick with open
studs.
Counter parts is for instance a wheel and a tire listed each separate in a set,
with the combination of both in the counterpart section. Similarly for unstickered
parts + sticker sheets in the main section, and the stickered parts in the counter
parts section.

Insert into the result the cheapest "set" that contains the item. If
I'm looking for a part of the set, I care less about the rest of the set,
I care that the item I'm looking for is there (and of course, the other items
on my list) I don't want to find a store that sells me 5 minifigures with
red pants, because in the end I'll settle for the cheapest minifigure which
contains these pants, because the main item I'm looking for is the pants.
|
There’d still be the problem of defining “cheapest.”
|
Cheapest is not so difficult to define, it is the actual amount you pay for the
item; the only uncertainty is the shipping costs in relation to the total order
amount as that adds to your total cost. And that only only when you have to compare
shop were this varies greatly.
What you do have to consider is the rest value of the assemblies you find. When
you need e.g. the arms and the legs, and both pairs are on your wanted list,
then both of them have value (But if the torso that's not on your wanted
list does have value to you? Nobody knows.) Even if you find a complete minifigure
to fulfill your need for arms, they also fulfill your need for legs. The value
of the legs for you is defined as what you are currently paying for those legs
while fulfilling your wanted list. It is cyclic, since when you find cheaper
legs, their value is less, and thus the complete minifigure might be not so profitable
to you anymore.
| If it’s about choosing a store (Auto-select…), “cheapest” is already complicated
(shipping, fewest stores…). Anyway, the feature is nearly impossible:
|
Nearly impossible yes, but impossible no.
When I started the major part of my collection, I implemented this 'advanced
wanted list' feature in Excel. I did have to feed it with information about
all part compositions that I was considering (mostly the plain and HTF torso
assemblies and the corresponding HTF minifigure assemblies, in the hundreds)
and I did manually pre-select the shops I was considering (also in the hundred).
It was a lot of work, it was very complicated, but it did work.
| the algorithm
already cuts corners for items you (really) want, it won’t have the resources
to add substitute items, that would blow the search space exponentially.
|
Not exponentially, but of some order of O(N2) I believe. Still more than I'd
expect from Bricklink. Even simpler suggestions to make the wanted lists more
tolerant with regard to variants have been denied by Bricklink as being 'too
complicated for new users' and 'we don't want this'.
I am not sure that the limitation on computing power is still a valid argument
nowadays. The argument of complexity might be void if an AI is trained on the
full catalog data. I would not expect a 100% best answer, but a suggestion like:
"You are trying to buy some parts of set X, have you considered buying the
set instead?" might be in the line of what the marketing people of Bricklink
come up with in the far future.

| As I work through a client to do useful things with the Bricklink API, I'm
curious what issues other developers have experienced that may impact the robustness
any application.
One thought I just had was that there is no guarantee that the underlying data
is stable within the various catalog related resources.
An obvious example is assignment of part numbers. Clearly, they may change over
time. When they do, are new element ids assigned or would the element id be a
reliable way to ensure data integrity?
Would it be wise to preserve the old part numbers in some way either with a soft
delete or some other kind of deprecation flag?
I would like to work with the assumption that certain values are essentially
primary keys. category IDs, color IDs, really anything named xxxx ID. It seems
to me that the nomenclature in use implies that anything called 'id'
is immutable while anything else is fair game for modification during catalog
updates.
Thoughts?
|
There are numeric primary keys in the database, but unfortunately, those are
not exposed through either the API or the UI. I remember vaguely that years ago
I did spot some places where the primary keys were exposed, but I don't see
any of the catalog object ID's exposed anymore. You can tell from the changelog
that there must be some immutable primary key laying under the data that we see
through the UI.
Store Items still have an exposed ID. You can tell from the hyperlinks and URL's.
Other objects that have a ID=numeric URL are supposed to have an immutable ID:
Forum Messages, Forum Threads, Direct Messages, Wanted Lists, and probably some
more.
Color IDs are immutable, although merges may occur.
You probably won't need to keep the old Part Numbers, as you could always
trace back older part number references through Bricklink's catalog change

Not possible (or very unlikely as there are 16.442 stores and none is experiencing

Check your store currency versus your display currency. It sounds like some currency
conversion is going on between what you entered/see (NOK) and what is actually
stored (maybe USD?). If so, this is a setting on your side that you can correct.

1) Download the 76909 building instructions from lego.com
2) Part out the set on Bricklink in the 'Want' section to a new want

3) Remove the parts needed for the 'AMG project one' car from the want
list using the building structions booklet 2
4) When finished you should end up with a want list with all parts needed for

Use Studio. Import the set (i.e. the parts of the set) and built the racecar
digitally, following the 76909 instructions you downloaded from LEGO.com.
Then you can experiment with different colors while simultaneously seeing availability
and trying out alternative parts wherever necessary.
The final result can be uploaded as a wanted list on Bricklink.

I've been using the Bricklink API to retrieve pricing information for different
parts, and I'm having an issue with the "Price Guide" API endpoint.
The endpoint returns a lot of data, including the minimum price, maximum price,
average price, and a list of all the sales records, which can be a lot of data
to process for parts that have been sold frequently.
Ideally, I would like to retrieve just the total quantity sold and the average
price for a part, without having to parse through all the sales records.
Is there a way to retrieve just the total quantity sold and the average price
for a part, without having to parse through all the sales records? This would
greatly simplify my code and make it more efficient.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
|
In the API, no.
An alternative: For most common parts, you could use Studio and access the JSON-data
it caches for each part. Caching is refreshed daily when you run Studio. One
file for each part, containing info about all available colors.
See the %AppData%\..\Local\Stud.io\BLBrickMetaInfo\ folder.

Yes, now it is very clear.
What you see on screen is a dropdown list with all colors; this is part of the
user interface. This list apparently is currently not filtered on which colors
are actually present in your wanted list. You would like this list to be adaptive
to show only the colors that are used in your wanted list. Similarly to what
happens in a shop's inventory, showing only the categories and colors that
shop actually has. Makes sense.
I don't expect this to be implemented anytime soon though, as changing this
from a static list (= simply all colors in the color table) to a dynamic list
(= select all unique colors from your individual wanted list(s)) might be a burden
on the system (or the system's engineers).

box was clean, I had taken the batteries out. Tried new alkaline, nope. New
Lithiums, nope. All four motors are weak. The gear change won't shift gears.
It barely drives on a hard surface. It can't pivot in place on its tracks.
It reluctantly moves its arm VERY slowly.
Sorry for the long post, but does anyone have any ideas before I go trying to
replace all the PF components to make this thing work again?
As an aside, I put some batteries in my 8110 Unimog to try that instead. The
motor was also very weak in it, even with the lithium batteries that checked
out as 1.63-1.65v, but it did work. Are these motors or receivers decaying over

Also check that the cables are not damaged and causing a short circuit. I've
just had my entire collection of cables crumble in my hands.
Check the voltage at various locations, over the batteries, over the battery
box without cables, over the motor connection and over the motor when switched

go through each of the 70 or some Want Lists to allocate each piece.
The way I bought was to find a part I required and then check the link in that
seller's shop to see what what else I required and clicked the Auto-Fill/Min
link.
I have created a spreadsheet in order to keep track of what I buy so I don't
end up buying duplicates or not enough of pieces where I require multiple, but
is there an easier way to disribute the received parts into the Wanted Lists
I have bought on Bricklink before and used a similar method, but not with such
a huge amount of models to take care of.
Wonder if there is a setting somewhere that adds the "Remark" to the
order receipt?
Thanks guys.

How do you know it is a minority? Since variants on Bricklink are generally only
split when there is a FUNCTIONAL difference, I'd say most buyers would care,
at least for some of the variants.
Bricklink has made their point in previous discussions: They want to make the
process for the buyer as simple as possible. Any suggestion as to add more flexibility
to the wanted lists (such as 'don't care if 3794a or 3794b' was
either ignored or rejected in full. According to Bricklink, the buyer should
get exactly what they order and the seller should ship the exact product as defined
by the Bricklink catalog.

100% - or as I mentioned in another related thread, if even there was a page
that automatically updated that tracked variants added to the catalogue. I'm
not sure how it works behind the scenes for it to even be feasible, but that

all variants would be incredibly beneficial because we could refer to it often
simply to educate ourselves to be aware that new variants of various parts now
exist.

Well, we have the Items Relationships log for Newest Relationship Items.
From the Catalog main page, What's New, More: Relationships
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelList.asp?viewDate=Y
However, we would need to be able to sort the results to show only the Similar
Parts with Different Molds and not all the pattern stuff.
------------------------------------------------
We have the Item Relationships tab and we can choose Similar Parts with Different
Molds.
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRel.asp?utm_content=subnav
But then we can't sort the results by date.
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelCat.asp?relID=4
This is a fabulous reference anyway. I would just routinely check whatever category
I was working on when listing Used parts.
Jen
|
You can sort by date if you choose [Show Dates] on one of the category pages
and then delete the category reference from the URL:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogRelList.asp?showUsers=&v=1&pg=1&relID=4&viewDate=Y
but indeed there are many patterned parts obscuring the more relevant variants.

The other difference is the shape of the LBG wheel holder plates.
Since these are deemed functionally different already, a new entry for the vehicle

| You are confusing IC (Instant Checkout) and Onsite Payment which can be used
with manual invoicing just as well.
And the warning is there on top of every onsite invoice e-mail to the buyers
not to pay to an offsite PayPal account disregarding anything the seller would
say about this.
In Suggestions, Emporiosa writes:
| Since marketplace tax inception, there have been countless posts about sellers
not understanding why they can't change an order to Paid/Shipped etc when
they've received payment by PayPal offsite. This is not impacting only small
sellers. The following two very recent threads are from a small store, and a
very large store:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1395788
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1398000
As it obviously not clear to many, especially those who have been around for
a while and have previously had no problems accepting any kind of offsite payment
such as e-transfers, cash, direct PayPal payments, etc... It would be beneficial
to have a warning at the top of an order page to the seller to say that this
order has automatic tax collection on it, and should not be shipped if payment
was received offsite as payment must be made onsite (and a link to the page explaining
marketplace tax collection). This primarily impacts manual invoices.
Even that I'm not sure will catch 100% of these issues, but it could help
reduce them, and provide more awareness for sellers. Of course, if everyone used
100% IC a lot of these issues could also be alleviated, but BL does not have
any of the features of a more robust marketplace for handling shipping (such
as API integration with shipping partners, or even more granular shipping table
control). Speaking as a Canadian seller, our country alone has the most vast
variance of shipping rates I think I've ever seen, and we can't even
break down by province (which isn't granular enough either anyways due to
remote postal codes).
Long-term, I believe that more development on the shipping side for sellers could
alleviate many of the residual issues for more IC adoption. But a short-term
warning on these orders could cutdown a lot of the headache for both sellers
and BrickLink.

Putting parts in your shopping basket does not reserve them for you. Most likely
another customer happened to buy all the things you were preparing to buy. That
can happen. No ill will as nobody can see what's in your cart but you.
The recommended workflow is to gather everything you want to buy in a wanted
list and then - in a short time span - match your wanted list with actual orders.
The [Buy] tools may help you with that.
Some shops allow you to create orders in multiple batches. They will offer a
shipping 'keep order open'. Nowadays, these shops are rare - as this
does not match well with the instant checkout function.

Welcome to Bricklink, Michael. LEGO only sells parts that are currently in production,
but it is nice of them to have pointed you here. The Bricklink platform is also
owned by LEGO, but is totally independent.
Bricklink is a marketplace: a central catalog with tens of thousands of different
shops across the world that share the same catalog. They are independent shops
though, so beware of their store terms and shipping conditions.
With the link in the other post you can choose from all the possible parts in
the catalog and see which shops have your part available.
When you have found the part or parts you want to purchase, you might directly
buy them from the shops that you found. Consider that each shop will add shipping
costs, so preferably you find a shop that is in the neighborhood (i.e. EU) and
try to find all in the same shop.
If you have more than a few parts to buy however, you best add your choice parts
to a wanted list first, and go to the Buy page to help you select the best shop
or shops.
Bricklink takes a bit of getting-used-to, so take your time.
The newby questions are asked quite often on the forum, so it might be worth
searching or browsing the forum a bit too.
Enjoy and discover!

The trick is to go to the proper forum at https://forum.bricklink.com and browse
the posts there, or ask there.
The parts don't show up because they are not listed in the StudioPartDefinition2.txt
file, and you can't/shouldn't edit that file as it would break by any
update.
Only resolution for now: ask Cheenzo to forward the specific parts to the team,
or add the parts as custom parts instead.

| Back in the good old days, any order could be changed from any status to any
other status i.e. Pending, Shipped, Ready, etc.
Then the status progression path was restricted, and orders could only be changed
to certain statuses depending on which status they currently had.
It seems to have changed again. I suppose in an effort to stop any nefarious
payment processes, an order which selected PayPal Onsite as the payment method
cannot proceed beyond Packed status unless BrickLink sees that the PayPal payment
indeed occurred.
I'm having an issue with this as I have orders that selected PayPal Onsite
(which is the default at checkout) and then paid through other means. Now while
I've been paid, BrickLink logged the fees, and the customer received their
order (and even left feedback), this order is now trapped in either the Processing,
Ready, or Packed status for the next 6 months until it is purged.
I'm going to have pages of these orders sitting as Packed cluttering my Orders
Received page and I cannot even imagine how many there will be by the time the
first one purges.
|
Nope. Unless you are in a state where there is no sales tax, you are actually
forcing Bricklink to skip the tax payments.
The payment was not properly performed, as it *MUST* go through Bricklink for
them to collect the sales tax. If paid offsite, the tax has not been paid.
The proper solution is to refund the offsite payment and ask the customer to
pay through the onsite link instead.
And to avoid this problem in the future, remove any offsite Paypal link in your
invoices.

parts I used are new and show no signs of being warped or otherwise bent out

but it's enough to bother me. I think the culprit might be the 6X16 plate
underneath, though the 2 2X16's also strike me as possible stability issues...
|
It's perfectly normal to occur and depends on how you build your structure.
Every stud-antistud connection adds a little bit of sideways pressure in order
to maintain the 'snap'. All these pressures add up so that the bottom
of plates extends and the top is compressed. Result: bending.
This is one of the reasons that in the BDP you are not allowed to stack large
plates.
A solution is to build 3 layers instead of 2, so there are 2 connecting layers
where the pressure evens out. Preferably with the middle layer bricks so as to
have a larger height and tenfold rigidity.

The error points to an error in *ANY* of your wanted lists. This was not caused
by you, but is a side effect of a merge on the catalog side. You have to first
correct the duplicate in the list that is causing the problem, then continue
editing the wanted list you want to change. There should be a warning sign next

It does not have to do with age, although it may be a generational issue.
This behaviour is by design. If you want to include the plural in your 'hole'
search, type 'hole*'.
There are simply two styles of search entries:
- assuming literal search and requiring you to specify a pattern when you want

- assuming pattern matches and requiring you to specify when exact matches are

I am quite happy with Bricklink using the first.

These are evolutions of the same brick with the same purpose. They were made
in different years, but there may have been overlap with older and newer molds
being in use simultaneously.
First iteration, yellow: stabilization of the side walls by a separator that
links every second pin to the wall.
Second iteration, blue: stabilization wall is lowered by half a plate, so that
it does no longer interfere when placing the brick at a half stud offset on open
studs.
Third iteration, red: improved stability by adding extra stability walls. This
also prevents the not-connected bottom pins to break off.
Fourth iteration, green: reducing the amount of plastic by making the bottom
pins hollow. Accidentally this also adds connectivity for hair accessories with
a 1 mm pin but I don't believe the holes in the brick's bottom pins have
been formally designed for this purpose.

For bigger builds that are not part of a competition: yes, very common.
Example: https://www.youtube.com/@BobBrickman
an entire LEGO city with elevations for which the base is made with wood.
For the mountain, the substructure can be made with bricks like
or and alike, or DUPLO.

It's Match ID: a number that links the alternative parts to the primary parts

| In Suggestions, WynnSmith writes:
| As a builder, wanting to find available parts, or as someone wanting to research
a part in my hand, it would be useful if each piece, in the database, was associated
with the connections on that piece. The obvious connections include studs and
stud-receivers, technic pins and technic pin holes, small pin holes and small
pins, bars and bar receivers which include clips, hands, and open studs, and
several others. Additionally, this implies the ability to filter a search by
selecting the possible connection types.
I imagine this filter as providing a checkbox for each connection type and
an optional number field. For example, design ID 20482, "Tile, Round 1 x 1 with
Bar and Pin Holder", includes one stud-receiver, one bar, and one small pin hole.
One problem is that there's no standard for describing "small pin holder".
If you search on "pin holder", your search is overwhelmed by technic pieces
while not revealing many pieces which include a "small pin hole". Many parts
with such a connection, call it a "pin hole" or "pin holder" rather than a "small
pin" something. Other descriptions use the word "hat". Most such parts don't
provide any information at all on this feature. Nor do the parts which include
the "small pin".
Another problem is that many parts don't follow what most of us consider
the standard for dimensions. Is it a 4x1 or a 1x4? This becomes a bigger problem
if the part isn't exactly one brick tall. However, I can count studs and
enter that number into a filter.
The first goal is to standardize the vocabulary. For example, do you say "stud-receiver",
"anti-stud", or "antistud"? The word "pin" should be stricken from the database
and replaced with either "techpin", "smallpin", or "handpin". (are there other
pins?)
Finally, imagine having this feature in Studio. wow.
|
Someone please correct me if I am wrong or missing something.
There's a pin: technic pin
There's a bar: with clip connections and hole connections
There's an accessory pin
This explains the dimensions:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=261
Also, I know some people will always be eager for 'standardized' everything.
I get it. It's a bit trickier than you would think. Some stuff is only obvious
with the benefit of hindsight. Continuously changing stuff to match that hindsight
can be disruptive. Our Item Names are already doing a ton of work so I am leary
of adding any more.
That being said... I think a connection database would be a great addition to
our catalog! That would require some snazzy new coding, built on a nice solid
infrastructure, and by someone who really understands our product and our catalog.
Oh...
Thanks,
Jen
|
The connectivity information is already in a kind of database: in the Studio
part files under the PE_CONN tag, including the position and orientation of the
connection.
What would be newly needed is an interface and search mechanism to filter on
these, both on types of connection and on relative orientation.
It might not be very long until we can feed the parts database into an AI and
query it to build our LEGO projects for us.

Studio is good for creating building instructions for MOCs. Other softwares are
available and do a better job of the building side of things (eg LDD), but Studio
still does OK for builds and instructions. It should contain pretty much all
of the parts for that car build.
|
Ok, but far as I understood the terms of Studio, I have to offer my MOC for sale,
which is not my intention.

No, you misunderstood. Studio is just the graphics tool and does not force you
to upload anything. It just lets you create your 3D model on your local harddrive.
You would have the option to upload your creation on the Studio Galery,
but even then it is not forced to sell your instructions or make them available.

You'll need some off-site tinkerin. Start with:
(1a) download the catalog of all 74115 parts as csv at https://www.bricklink.com/catalogDownload.asp?utm_content=subnav

Small simplification here: on the same page, download the “Part and Color Codes”

Good idea, but the PCC list is far from complete if you are also interested in

Of the 16K non-patterned parts in the catalogDownload, only 7K have any PCC and
9K do not. Only 1650 of these have a PCC for White.

(1a) download the catalog of all 74115 parts as csv at https://www.bricklink.com/catalogDownload.asp?utm_content=subnav
or
(1b) extract the 14036 part numbers from the 71 pages at https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=0&pg=1&colorPart=1&catType=P
(configure it to show the maximum of 200 lines per page)
then (in a spreadsheet):
(2) manipulate this to extract the part numbers you are interested in (e.g. you
might want to skip all parts numbers that have a 'p' in their number
when you don't want decorated parts).
(3) manipulate further to format the part numbers in the Bricklink wanted list
format (https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=207). You'll need to split
it into manageable chunks of 1000 lots and have to set the color to white (1),
the maximum to 6 and perhaps the max price to something acceptable for you to
eliminate the rare and expensive parts.
then back to Bricklink:
(4) copy-paste the wanted list xmls at https://www.bricklink.com/wantedXML.asp?showOld=Y
or upload them at https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/upload.page?utm_content=subnav
(5) use the classic wanted list function 'search by shop' to locate the
shops that have the most unique lots of your wanted list: https://www.bricklink.com/wantedShop.asp?showOld=Y&wantedMoreMultiple=&qs=
It is not a ready-made solution, but this make your task doable in a few hours.
I hope this helps.

Going through the parts list to a set, and printing it, the result is a very

to see and still very long.
Ideally I would like to be able to generate a grid format with part number, picture

a couple of sheets of paper.
There’s some other sites with checklists but most seem to be geared for online
checking. While nice for some purposes, this doesn’t help me put a checklist
with a set to I have the confidence it’s complete. It being printable in a reasonable
number of pages is key.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Option 1:
In the print dialog, under [More Settings], there is an option [Format] where
you can choose between Original and Simplified. Try the latter and see if this
helps.
Option 2:
Print to PDF and use a PDF-tool to trim the pages so you'll only see the
image and count. Then combine multiple pages on a page.
Option 3:
Copy the contents of the table to Word or similar and adjust the layout there.
Option 4:
Learn how to use CSS and access the page using your own style sheet.
Option 5:
Use an app that allows you check the items on screen, so you don't need to
print it at all.

You are using the alternate numbers. Bricklink does only recognize those numbers
when you search manually, not when you put them in the URL or when you import
them. That's really something that Bricklink should fix.
LEGO assigns a new number for every (minor) mold change. Bricklink only follows
if it is a functionally relevant or visually distinctive change. Thus more and
more parts get alternate numbers assigned.

The keyword exclusion list seems something 'they' can't change as
this has been brought up and ignored many times before. But it is the wrong list
for the purpose of this database. The exclusion list is compiled for the most
frequent used words in English full texts. But we are not using full texts in
Bricklink titles. Thus, the list defeats the entire purpose.
It is likely very easy to fix: tell the database engine not to use the exclusion
list, or if that is not an option, tell the database engine that this database
is another language, like EN-BL (English for Bricklink catalog) and not EN-US.

| Has anyone experienced this problem: you have a design in a Stud.Io file. You
upload it to Bricklink so that its parts go into your wanted list so you can
order them (let's say for the sake of argument you have none of the parts
in the design on hand already, so you need to order everything - this was the
case for me). You place your order(s), and when the parts arrive you find certain
parts are missing - not because the seller made a mistake, but because the missing
parts were never included in the order!
Example: my newest build was missing a specific minifig torso, six 1x1 light
blue gray plates and one dark blue gray 1x1 technic brick (I needed 5 of those,
but for some reason only 4 were loaded into the wanted list and ordered). All
the parts were specifically in the Stud.io file, but they didn't make it
to the ordering stage and with so many parts they got overlooked.
Is there a way to prevent this, especially with large orders where its easy to
overlook something? Why would Bricklink skip them? Is there maybe a setting clicked,
or not clicked, during the automatic buying process?? Remedying this problem
cost me an addition $11 tonight, mostly due to shipping costs, and I'm tired
of having to spend extra money for missing parts. It's bad enough if I forget
something on my own, but BrickLink shouldn't be forgetting FOR me!
|
Note that you are seamlessly stepping over a stage in your conclusion: from wanted
list to order. Did you use the Easy Buy or Buy All feature? There is no guarantee
that Bricklink managed to find all the parts you would like to order in the shops
selected.
From Studio to Order goes like this:
(1) Studio file (.io) to upload wanted list (.xml)
(2) Bricklink wanted list import - wanted list that says how many you want
(3) Buying process, whether automated through Easy Buy, Buy All or manual -
choose shops, choose lots and amounts to buy in that shop - order
(4) fulfillment of your order by the seller, shopping and receiving by you.
If the missing parts are from stage (1) or (2), it is a bug. Please specify more.
If the missing parts are from stage (3), you have not paid close enough attention
to which parts of your wanted list you were buying and which parts could not
be fulfilled by the shop(s) you or the system selected for you.

Otherwise, use https://www.bricklink.com/searchAdvanced.asp (click the magnifying
glass in the top search box) and use the colour dropdown.

Thanks for trying and reminding me of the advanced search feature
https://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?viewFrom=sa&itemType=P&colorID=49&q=tile&searchSort=C&sz=500
is indeed the list I was looking for,
(And I got my answer: this color is too rare to even try using it in the model
I'm working on.)

| While searching for Items for Sale by color, 'Very Light Gray' is not
recognized as color name. I get 'The following keywords were excluded from
your search: very'.
What did they do to the search box algorithm this time? Or has this specific
search always failed?
---
The order of processing the search request should be:
(1) strip the leading color name if any ( 'very light gray' )
(2) replace 'space x space' by 'x' for dimensions
(3) apply the exclude words algorithm (but it should be done with a vocabulary
frequency list relevant to the Bricklink context only! It would make much more
sense to completely skip this step.)
(4) find the matching lots for sale based on the remaining search phrase ( 'tile'
)
---
How to find these lots now?
Searching without color filter gives the entire 2,002,093 lots of 'tile'.
As if the rare word 'very' is more common in our Bricklink database than
the common word 'tile'.
In this case I could just check each of the few tiles that exist in this color
separately, but how to get them together in a single search like for any other
color?

gone missing, you really need to address to cause of it. NOT the symptoms.
|
Wrong. The topic was created by Admin Russell, who is BL admin, not a forum mod.
The topic is not for missing help desk responses (that your story refers to),
but for situations where filling out the help desk form did not result in a help
desk ticket only. That's a software bug that has been proven to be very difficult
to trace the origin of. Admin Russell creating this topic to post about specifically
this technical problem is part of the necessary tracing. For a programmer, when
something goes wrong intermittently or at seemingly random times, this is notoriously
difficult to debug. Getting more data about when exactly it goes wrong is quintessential.
| If the Help Desk processes are badly run, FIX that instead of streamlining the
flow of alarming forum posts concerning the badly run Help Desk processes.
|
True, but that is not what this specific forum topic is intended for.

It'd be great to get your input as to what the next color brick were to be.
Please vote too (up or down) on the topic: should there be another feedback level?

are now seven, two years later)

Mathematically, the next level in this logarithmic series would be 100.000 only.
That would mean a long wait for us and a great lot of work for Stefan or anyone
challenging.
With the bricks numbered from 1 to 10, I feel that Violet might be ultimate destination.

I am more interested in how many feedback a seller has had over the last months
than over the lifespan of the shop.

I wish to understand why a Seller would set NOT to be contacted
|
That contact setting does not apply to messages related to placed orders.
So this would prevent a seller from getting queries that would scarcely lead
to a sale, while still allowing all communication with their confirmed buyers.

Traditionally, tiling against angled walls was done by overlap: you don't
tile against the wall, but you build the wall on top of the layer of plates and
tiles. The triangular tile is only a fairly recent addition.

| In the spirit of team building and sharing knowledge, in our company every month
one of the employees is invited to make a short presentation for the team meeting.
This presentation is supposed to share something about a personal interest, not
necessarily work-related but of reasonable interest to your co-workers.
Last week I had my turn: Modelling with LEGO.
Many of my co-workers fell silent in discovering that there is an entire world
of LEGO behind the childhood play they know. Given their enthusiastic responses,
I'd like to post this presentation here too.

own my Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett from that set. Sadly the rest has went to
the bin which I sold a few years ago. ( I remember having a 2014 Grand Inquisitor
in there too! 😕
|
There is a big difference in my first memory getting a new set, the
and my memory of the sets I had in my childhood. My parents and I were having
a weekend camping in a caravan my uncle had. My sister was yet to be born, but
my neighbor friend aged 4 came along. I was a little over 3 years old at the
time. We visited the fairy tale forest in the Efteling - which I mostly remember
through the pictures of me and my friend holding our ears against the giant mushrooms
in the park. These mushrooms played soft music and fairy tale stories. A lovely
amusement park. It still is, but I digress.
My parents were to give me the LEGO set but would not want to create havoc between
us boys, so creatively my father gave himself the present of the harbor. Of course
when arriving at home, the set was joined with the rest of the LEGO I had. And
my father never got any more LEGO but he was allowed to help me play with mine.
There must have been quite some LEGO and Duplo around at the time I got the harbor
scene. Most of it I remember having (as I still have it) but hardly any I remember
getting. Vague memories of family Sinterklaas festivities and birthday parties.
Those early childhood memories are mostly strengthened by moments you happen
to have photos of. (photo: me at age 2,5)
