I was the kind of person that never wanted instant checkout to be implemented
here in BL. I thought it would bring problems, overpaying or underpaying,
and also would stop a way of communication with my buyers. I really like to communicate
with them.

However, I was recently invited to test out another Lego selling website that
is under production. This site in particular has instant checkout implemented.
Well, after receiving an order today... I was thoroughly impressed by how well
it worked.

When setting up your store, it requires you to add your shipping methods, either
by weight bands or price bands. On countries where you have dimension limits,
that could be hard to implement. Anyways, after some thinking, this would be
my solution.

First, the simplest things would be to add weight ranges from the cart (you'd
need to weight your envelopes/boxes) and add the price. In example, if my bubble
envelopes weight less than 20 grams, I'd add a shipping band from 0-75 grams,
and put the price for under 100 grams. Or, if my boxes weight about 150 grams,
I'd put another band from 450 grams to... 750 grams, for under 1 KG!

That is the simple part, now let's get to restrictions or special needs.
I'm not sure about restrictions on other countries, but here the restrictions
are not too harsh. For them, and special bulky items, my solution would be to
have a special intern mark in the catalog, so the system knows they are bulky.
For example, let's say I'm adding a raised baseplate to the catalog,
another field could be if it's bulky or not. Bulky could be considered over
2 centimeters high on all three dimensions, or something like that. Yes, it
would
require some work to be implemented in the actual catalog items, but with this
community's help, it would be easily done. You could also make differences
between big bulky items, such as raised baseplates, or semi-bulky items, such
as some panels. A raised baseplate would make a difference in my shipping costs,
but not a panel, normally.

Now, with the mark, what it would happen is, you get a special option on your
shipping methods to see if your store "cares" for bulky items. I mean, when the
system is making the shipping price to give it to the buyer, it would detect
that his order has bulky items, and then, predefined by the seller, you could
get two different options. Either the seller could establish new rates for bulky
items, or the make the buyer request a regular invoice, so the seller can calculate
the shipping cost.

Solved the restrictions problem. Now on to fees. All fees should be noted up
front, anyways. It's easy to automatize lot limits/fees, packing fees, etc.
The seller would be required to add them, and the system would add them to the
order and show them to the buyer along with shipping prices, before checkout.

Lastly, I would make automatic checkout, at least in the beginning, an option,
not a must. I'm sure many, many sellers would implemented, and those that
feel that they can't, just would not. Probably the former would be small
stores who cannot afford to loose 2$ on shipping and that. That way, you'd
make everyone happy.

On another note, I would automatize fees as a priority, and that cost should
be noted up front before checkout, even if you don't have instant checkout,
as you don't need postage to calculate them.

After this, and having all fees noted up front, postage should always be real
PO cost.

I hope you made it to the bottom of the page, as it was hard for me to write
this long thing.
I you have any more ideas, I'd love you to post them, or to refute my ideas,
that is what the forum is for. I posted is as a suggestion as it is how I'd
like the system to work, or how I think it would work the best. Lots of ideas
in my head!

Cheers,
Gerald

Currently, when shopping, if you run across an item that needs to be reported
for one problem or another, it is a multi-step process to do so. I would like
to propose a simple "report this item" button be implemented so that simply clicking
it will take you to the "problem with item for sale" section, bring with it the
lot number from the item and when you have submitted the item, have a button
to bring you right back to where you left off so you can finish shopping.

Too often things do not get reported due to the current reporting process. A
one click reporting button with a simple return to previous page button would
be wonderful.

The only way I know of to report offending items is as follows...
1) find listing
2) roll mouse over picture of the listing
3) write the number down
4) find the problem report page, and enter the number

Please find a way to make this process easier. This is even more annoying when
after all that, the item has already been reported .

Rant:
I am tired of looking in stores to find Minifigs that are missing parts -- Particularly
Feathers and Plumes from Castle Minifigs -- frequently the most expensive part.

Suggestion:

A) Add complete/incomplete to minifig listings -- this might be too large of
a change - not sure how hard this would be.

OR

B) Make a rule that ALL minifigs MUST be complete as inventoried. Otherwise
they should be listed as their component parts.

OR

C) Make a rule that ALL incomplete minifigs must have the phrase INCOMPLETE included
in the comments so that they can be excluded from searches somehow.

Above the [Submit Order] button, when placing an order in a store, is the "legally

Funny, I wonder how long it's been there?

I looked through the open catalog requests and there doesn't seem to be one
for this. It could be a site development issue, but I'm not sure so I'm
making it a catalog request.

Currently BrickLink uses an unholy mix of the following numbers for books:

BL numbers:

Book No: BioCMN Name: BIONICLE - Challenge of Mata Nui
*
BioCMN BIONICLE - Challenge of Mata Nui
Books: Story Book: BIONICLE

13-digit ISBNs:

Book No: 9780439501200 Name: Bionicle Collector's Sticker Book
*
9780439501200 Bionicle Collector's Sticker Book
Books: Sticker Book: BIONICLE

10-digit ISBNs:

Book No: 3499609053 Name: Die LEGO Story - Der Stein der Weisen by Margret Uhle
*
3499609053 Die LEGO Story - Der Stein der Weisen by Margret Uhle
Books: Informational Book

TLG website numbers:

Book No: 5002889 Name: DC Universe Super Heroes Batman Visual Dictionary
*
5002889 (Inv) DC Universe Super Heroes Batman Visual Dictionary
Books: Informational Book: Super Heroes: Batman II

LEGO Education website/catalog numbers:

Book No: 2009723 Name: Cities and Transportation Activity Pack
*
2009723 Cities and Transportation Activity Pack
Books: Curriculum Activity Book: Educational & Dacta: MINDSTORMS

Item numbers printed on the item:

Book No: 4218234 Name: BIONICLE - Rahkshi Informational Card
*
4218234 BIONICLE - Rahkshi Informational Card
Books: Informational Book: BIONICLE: Rahkshi

TLG identifying item numbers:

Book No: 226 Name: Idea Book 226
*
226 Idea Book 226
Books: Idea Book

and Thor knows what else I've missed. This makes the Books section of the
BrickLink catalog confusing and difficult to navigate or work on (as evidenced
by someone recently submitting several books which already had catalog entries).
I've been told that alternate item numbers aren't allowed for books.
Fine, let's change that. Some books have alternate item numbers and should
be searchable and findable by any of those numbers.

There are 3,000 books in the catalog and volunteers willing to do a little work
to make those entries more complete. It won't be so easy if we wait to add
the alternate item number field until we have two or three times that many books
(or more) in the catalog.

Thank you for considering this request.

When examining a part on a catalog page, in a specific color, and then clicking
on "Add to My Inventory", pass the previously selected color to the add page
as the initial setting.

If you are looking at a specific color, odds are that is the same color you wish
to list, and will save one step on many many part listing specifications. Doing
this in no way prevents changing to a different color.

Thank You

When shopping using the auto-finder, the result shows a percentage indicating
how much the part is cheaper or more expensive than some unknown average.

Since the exact calculation is unknown, this value is without meaning. We do
not know if it compares to averages sold or offered for sale, nor if those
averages simply take the max/min values of the quantity average. Also, there
are indications that the price calculated when the item condition (used/new)
is set to "all", or if the color is set to "any" that some average between all
those is calculated.

In my opinion, this is VERY misleading.

For example, there are very good reasons why a 30 year old new part is much more
expensive than a used one, or why a MISB set is more expensive than an incomplete
used one, or why a part in a very rare color is more expensive than the same
part in a common color. Comparing these as if they were the same item is wrong.
It will show genuinely valuable items as being overpriced, and common used items
as discounted. This is very unfair to the sellers that bring unique and rare
items to BrickLink. As a buyer, without fair comparison the value shown is meaningless
but that knowledge will be restricted to experienced buyers only. Inexperienced
buyers might feel misguided, cheated and/or scammed. We should not want that.

In making the price comparison the part should be compared to parts that are
actually the same. This means they should have an identical part number (including
version), condition (used/new, complete/incomplete/MISB/etc) and color. The calculation
should also use the quantity average because otherwise the calculation can de
be easily manipulated by listing a single item with a very high price. Finally,
by preference the prices of items sold should be used. Those are a much better
indication of what buyers are actually willing to pay and the actual value of
the item, and also it reduces the effect of items that are priced extremely high
or incorrectly (typing errors, new users testing their store, etc).

Please update the calculation where needed,
and provide a description of the formula in the help files.

Right now, my store's URL is www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=FigBits

It should be www.bricklink.com/FigBits

(or even figbits.bricklink.com)

The suggestion won't really help me at this point, since I have a much simpler
URL than either of those (figbits.com), but I think it would be good for others.

BL team - Can you please put back the link to Customize Order Invoice somewhere
on the orders placed page?

I think we used to be able to click on settings to get to that page from the
orders placed page, but now clicking on settings does not go to the Customize
Order Invoice.

Thanks

I would suggest that the Auto Finder should ignore "multiples" of items during
his search.

Explanation: When I search for (as example) 44 1x2 Bricks in a specific colour
I get results including shops which have "multiples" (x10). This is unusable
because I'm forced to either buy 50 instead of the 44 and end up paying more
than intended or to buy 40 in one shop and another 4 in a second shop which could
result in higher costs.

There should be an option to deselect those stores...

If Bricklink supported tags on catalog items (which could be reviewed/flagged
by catalog admins just like any other change) it would make it easier to find
things and there would be less "what is this" questions on the forums. For example
a minifig torso from a NinjaGo Zane minifig could have "NinjaGo" and "Zane" added
as tags. Or a part like 60208 (Wheel 31mm D. x 15mm Technic) could have tags
like "turbine" and "engine" added since its been used as an aircraft/spacecraft/boat/hovercraft
engine part in so many sets. (its never even been used as a wheel as far as I
can tell and no tyres exist that fit it).

I am sure people here can think of many other uses for tags on catalog items...
Brickset has tags on sets and its quite useful.

I have been trying to put together several orders and get the most out of each
store. But I am not able to do this in one sitting. It may require a small
design change, waiting to hear back from the proprieter or *gasp* actually working.
So then all my carts expire after about 2-3 days and I have to work on rebuilding
them. It's enough to give up and source parts elsewhere.

Sure, I can save screenshots and try to save in Brickstock but these are extra
unnecessary steps. Likely there is a variable somewhere in the bowels of the
BL code that could be changed from "72 hours" to "720 hours". If Amazon, Target,
and the Owl can remember my carts indefinitely, I don't think it's asking
too much for BL to do the same.

And for those who would complain that it's unnecessary, tell me also how
it would inconvenience you to have a longer cart timeout.

I don't believe much in forum's suggestions, but you never know...

The API lets us do "mass creation" of lots, but we can't do a "mass update"
to perform operations such as updating the prices of all lots at once.

We could send a bunch of "update inventory", a call for each lot, but then any
big seller will hit the limit of 5000 calls / day easily.

Can we please either get an API call for mass updates, or raise the limit of
5000 calls/day?

The software I'm writing will be free and open source once complete and tested
enough, so I don't really want just my personal limit of 5000 raised (as
the API docs suggest one can ask).

Thank you.

This feature, described here: http://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=520798
, is very useful when shopping by wanted lists. The only flaw is when the quantity
ordered differs from the quantity entered on the list. If a buyer orders any
quantity of an item on their list (regardless of the quantity entered on their
wanted list) the item appears in the Wanted Items in Order page.

Since Bricklink's system can see the quantity on the WL and can see the quantity
in the Order, then could the screen show an additional line below the item's
line when the quantities aren't equal.
When shopping and you click "All Items" it shows the quantity in red when it's
below the quantity on your WL. Something like this would be great in the IiOoWL
page and prevent accidental over-buying and save buyers time from having to manually
make changes.

Could we get the condition listed on the Wanted List Detail Pages?

such as:
http://www.bricklink.com/wantedDetail.asp?catType=P (Note: this link will only
show information if you have parts added to your Wanted List)

See image below, I added the column of Text inside the Red Box to the first entry
(1).

Brian R.

(1) I randomly assigned the values of "U" (Used) and "N" (New). I do not know
what condition this head is in these stores.

On pages such as this:

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32174

you should be able to click on a colour under "On Wanted Lists" to add it to
your wanted list thereby bringing up the normal "Add Items to My Wanted List:
Add Parts" screen, but with the color already selected.

I think Bricklink has covered all bases as far as features that are useful but
there is one thing I would like to see added. After you make an order you are
given the option to remove items purchased from your wanted list. This is a
great feature but it would be nice if it removed the exact quantity you purchased
from your minimum quantity set for that wanted item on the list. Rather than
just giving the option to delete the item entirely or manually have to do the
math and change the quantity yourself.

Is it too difficult to have the system recognize the quantity you purchased and
pass it over to the wanted list editor for that order and have it automatically
modify the remaining quantity needed? With an option to submit the changes just
as there is now in case there are any errors of course.

Thanks for everything Bricklink. Love the site.

When browsing a store and looking for items on your wanted list, click "Show
All Items this store has on my Wanted List" and it will show ONLY items on your
wanted list that meets your specific wanted list criteria (ie, i want 5 green
1x1 bricks, but they only have 4 - this item would not show).

Click "All Items" and it shows all items on your wanted list ignoring your specific
wanted list criteria for quantity and pricing (ie, i want 5 green 1x1 bricks,
but they only have 4 - this item would show but the qty would be in 'red' to
denote it does not match).

My suggestion is this = When clicking "All Items", condition is also ignored,
along with qty and price (ie, I want 5 green 1x1 bricks in new condition, but
they only have 5 in used condition - this item would show but the condition would
be in 'red' to denote it does not match).

There should be a way to search for multiple items at the same time and show
which store has the majority of what you are looking for. Almost like a shopping
list. Instead of putting in an item and then going through a store looking for
other items needed, it would show many options (i.e. the cheapest store with
the most items or just the store that has the most of what you need). Is there
a way for bricklink to engineer something like this?

Hello all,

So just a suggestion -

Ok so like Amazon when you have a wishlist and you or someone else buys off that
list it disappears from that list. This should be super if it worked in the
same way on here. If there is an option to do this then sorry i havent found
it.

Thanks Phil.

It would be great to be able to add an item to a wanted list from the catalogItem.asp
webpage. Is there a way to currently do this somehow, and I just don't see
it?

It's a bit cumbersome to use the "Add Item" feature on the Wanted List.
I think it would be easier to view a set, view the inventory and choose which
parts to add to your wanted list or be able to do so from the item's page
itself.

Hi,

the changes to Wanted lists seem quite nice, but some fine tuning will make it
even better.

- Missing the prices directly in the list - was a nice feature from old list.
If not directly shown in the new design, maybe just add a + sign to roll them
out or pop-over dialog.
- Transfer from list to catalog item to remember filter - now, if I click on
item in wanted lists it will get me to catalog item page. Both of these pages
allow filters, but they do not transfer. So let's say in my wanted list I
select New item and some max price. Would be nice that clicking on this item,
on the next page (catalog item) I will get these filters pre-filled

Quick shop is a nice feature, but has some drawbacks and lack some features
- Super-Lots - have a filter to ignore them in the shop lists
- Super-Lots - add a color to highlight wanted items (on left side) if present
only in super lots (currently green = match single lots quantity, yellow = some
quantity present, no color = "dear user please guess why this shop shows X of
X (100%) lot matches in shop list, but items do not show as present, maybe it's
part of super-lot, maybe not" )
- return more than one hit on auto finder, let's say top 3 - technically
you spent the CPU cycles to search them all, no ? So why not to display more
results.
- Sort shops by price option - enough said. If it's a resources problem,
then display only after running Auto Finder. Reason ? As per point above, you
already did the calculation, so why not to reuse and display the results.

I hope these help to make BL more usable

I would like to see an addition to the “My Action Items” notification area on
the “MyBrickLink” under the selling category. When the seller marks an order
“Paid” we see the following on our MyBrickLink page …

My Action Items:
(Customize)

Selling:
1 Order not yet shipped (?)

However, when a buyer pays for an order and goes into their My Orders Placed
page and marks the order as “Paid” – we (the seller) have no idea the buyer paid
by looking at our MyBrickLink. We have to go to the My Orders Received page
and see if the grand total is “bold” or go to our emails and see if we received
payment (if electronically).

Wouldn’t it be easy if we could log into BrickLink and go to our “MyBrickLink”
page and see this right away …

My Action Items:
(Customize)

Selling:
1 Order marked paid by Buyer (?)

I believe it would be a nice addition to the site and be an easy way for sellers
to see if their buyer has paid for their order. This may have already been suggested,
but I thought it couldn't hurt to get it out there.

Thanks for any support!

I am probably not the only person here who often has something to say or ask
about the MOC shop. Currently anything someone wants to post something, he/she
has to decide just where to post the message. With the MOC Shop coming along,
but not having it's own dedicated sub forum, the message might end up anywhere,
even if the place posted is not the most appropriate.

The MOC shop needs it's own dedicated sub forum in the boards. Please give
us one.

Often when I am buying I find myself going back into the store from my cart multiple
times to check on the price of parts I have put in my cart.
Please make it so we can see a breakdown of cost per item in our currency of
choice in the cart as well as the store. It seems silly to me that it is not
already this way. I often like to adjust my quantities depending on how much
I have to spend on any given order, and knowing the price per piece (in my currency)
is very helpful, not just the total of the cart in my currency.
I would also find it very helpful if the cart would include the item number as
well.

Ok, back to sleep.

I am currently doing a project and I have a list of items I need. The way the
current wanted list works is to show me lowest priced items in specific quantities
on the list from the stores with the lowest prices for that item.

What I think would be awesome is if somehow we could see which (if any) stores
had the entire list of items in the appropriate quantities (or failing that,
which stores can complete the highest percentage of my order).

For example: say I need 100 Black 1x1 Bricks and 250 White 1x1 Bricks and 50
green 2x1 bricks (totally made up example) - rather than order each item from
a different store and pay shipping multiple times, often I would prefer to pay
a few cents more for some items (especially ones I might only need a few of)
but ship everything from a smaller number of stores.

For a complicated project with hundreds of items, the shipping expense can become
a significant cost for the project after paying several dollars shipping from
dozens of different stores - I for one would prefer for the Lego community to
keep that money and purchase more Lego than the post office get it.

Wanted list item needs status: "Item ordered".

When I buy something from the wanted list, I change the max price to 0.00001
or something so item doesn't show on the next shop's "show wanted parts" list.
This is the only way to mark what items are already bought.
Not the best way, but don't know any better.

Deleting parts from the list is not the best choise because if order is lost
or some part is missing, you have to add those parts all over again to the wanted
list.
I delete them when items are in my hand.

Or maybe someone has better idea to do this?

Hello I am suggesting a new buyer tool..

This tool would allow buyers to query specific stores for parts from their wanted
lists by either typing in the name of the store or using their favorite sellers
list.

The results would be out but much like the normal Wanted list with the name of
the store, quantity, and price ranked in order.

The reason for this tool.. As a buyer I know the lower priced stores but sometimes
those stores don't always have what I need so I check 4-5 stores at a time. In
checking all these stores to find out the store that has the best pricing to
selection I have to add all the parts to the carts and compare. This takes a
long time to do. by having this tool I would be able to just type in several
store names and be able to compare inventory and pricing to figure out which
store or stores would best maximize my shipping dollar as well as initial price.

I would suggest having the option to select certain wanted lists or all much
like the stores search for wanted as well as an option to ignore minimum quantities
and/or condition.

I think the infrastructure is within the site to make this possible as it already
has query capabilities in the wanted lists and within the shops themselves it
is just lacking the ability to specify multiple specific shops.

I just received my second Order Cancellation Request and didn't know this until
I checked my personal e-mail. I would really like the option to see 'Problem
Order' notices on the Bricklink Homepage, where other notices like non-invoiced
orders and unpaid orders show up. Hopefully this option would also include NPB,
NSS, etc.

One reason I've easily missed these OCR's is that the order has dropped to the
second page of my invoice screen. (and I'm at 50 orders per page on one screen)
I would really like to see an OCR when I first log in to Bricklink, so that I
can quickly resolve the issue.

If there is an option somewhere that I may have missed, please let me know.

Thank you,

- Chris

Please exclude all superlot entries from the Price Guide. There are too many
people who do superlots with one item for some insane price, then list all other
entries for a penny or something. That ends up screwing up the averages for everything
in the superlot. If superlot items were just excluded from the Pricing Guide,
then it won't prevent anyone from doing their preferred pricing, while not
harming the pricing averages.

Note that this even helps with other pricing strategies, as the general use is
to price the individual items lower than they otherwise would be, which still
screws up the averages.

For most parts, which are commonly available, I have my wanted list set up with
the following option:
In View and E-Mail Notifications, Include only Items in Stores which are Located:
In Country: USA
This way I'm not bombarded with notifications for items in stores I'm
not likely to purchase, because of high shipping charges.

However, there are rare parts which infrequently show up in USA, but sometimes
are available in Europe. I would like an option, within the item, to have wanted
notifications regardless of location settings. This would be available both on
the "add item" screen as well as the "edit item" screen. Or, similar to how the
"notify" checkbox already functions. Or, have this as an option for entire want
lists - I could set up my main want lists and have a special want list just for
items I dont care where they are sourced from - because in those instances I
am willing to pay for them

Thanks for considering this suggestion for the revamped bricklink!

I searched the most recent suggestions but didn't find anything about this.

Can a link to the Problem Order page be put on the Order Details Page (anywhere)
and be pre-populated with the order number when clicked?

I find it cumbersome to have to either remember the order number or copy and
paste it after navigating to the Problem order page. I can't be the only
one who has accidently canceled the wrong order (only once, but almost a few
other times).

I can't see that this would be hard to do since there is already a link to
message the buyer/seller on that page and is pre-populated with the order number
as the title.

Thanks,
Donna

with multiple listings for nearly identical items (darth w/eyebrows, darth w/o
eyebrows...)
we could really use the option to enter multiple items simultaneouisly (rather
than having to reload and reset ten different identical entries just to find
one darth vader minifig, as i just did...and then again for 3PO. exhausting)

I likely won't use this feature again, until this is possible. it just sucks
up too much time.

I am of course not a programmer.

But it would be nice to have a seller alert when you get an order.

I have had situations where I am out of town and I did not know someone had placed
an order.

I come back to find a complaint that I had not billed it in a few days when I
checked before I left.

Only happens every once and awhile but it would be nice to have an alert setup
that informed me of a sale in the store.

Have a great weekend.

I think the wanted list is an excellent feature. Having multiple wanted lists
is even better.

Going to the wanted list by shop page - automatically runs a search of all wanted
lists.

This page should load then have a [search now] button. I typically just want
to search for one wanted list and this initial query is large - my wanted list
is not that big under 300 items - but this search is not needed at all.

The ability to load this page, choose a wanted list then search would save me
and everyone else some time. May even alleviate some of the server time-outs.

If I could have one, and only one, change made to bricklink, this is the change
I would want.

It would save me so much time and effort if my carts would stay there until I
was ready to make the purchase.

If the seller changes the price, have the cart then indicate that the price has
changed.
If someone else buys the item, have the cart indicate the item is no longer available.

I may want to keep a cart for several days (even weeks) before I have enough
in it to actually make it worth the purchase.

Hi
Please add a quantity box/field in the 'wanted list'.

Created my 'wanted list' with about 250 different items in it from about 25 different
sets.
Queried the shops with good results. Now I have to go back to the piece of paper
where I have written missing parts from each set. They are all different quantities
and are not in the same order like 'wanted list'. It will take a lot of time
now as oppose if I was able to type the quantities while creating the list..

I am still new so please excuse and inform me if solution to this problem exists.
All the best!
Michael

Please consider fixing this problem, any change in part quantity seems to delete
the part from my cart, even if the part is still available from the same store.

I spent several hours last night putting several carts together for a large project.
This morning I finished working on them, and proceded to place three orders.
When I placed two of these orders, a warning came up that one part was no longer
available. Well, I placed the first order anyway, then checked the price guide,
and found the same seller still had them. I added to my order and moved on to
the next order. Then it happened again...this time I checked the store before
I checked out, and behold, again, the seller still had the part in stock .
I don't think these sellers both relisted this part overnight, but I suppose
there is a VERY slim chance of that. I do know they each had only one lot of
these parts when I added them, as I wanted all that they had.

Thanks for your time,

Darren

Sometimes I want to find a store which has several parts of interest for me,
to minimize shipping expenses.
However, now it is impossible: I have to find one such store, than I have to
search inside the store for the next item (or the same, but in different color)
and next one...

This is very annoying and hard work, especialy for bigger orders! I would like
to be made more powerful search, e.g. to search more items in one store.

I'm positive this has been proposed before, but the people who run Bricklink...
have you ever considered updating the look of Bricklink? It just seems to me
at least that this site still looks like a website from 2000. I'm sure there's
a good reason its look hasn't been updated yet, but I was just curious. And perhaps
a mobile app?

Sincerely,

Zac

I would like to see an improvement to wanted lists - when browsing by store,
it would be nice to see what wanted list each of the parts is from and also to
be able to sort by wanted list. It would also be nice to be able to rate wanted
lists by importance so that you can focus on one list more than others. Additionally,
it would be nice to indicate both suppressed parts (ones that you have unchecked
before searching by store) and also indicate parts that may have restrictions
on them based on wanted list - ie price, quantity. That way when you are buying
from a store, you can see if they have the part but it is outside of the search
criteria (too expensive, short desired quantity).

I am trying to note any of these improvements as I run into them.

Thoughts?

Hi there,

as many of other sellers I mark the box where parts are store in remarks field.

It would make the collecting job more effective when there would be a possibility
to order the order sheet by remarks. Especially when you have many lots in the
order.

Thanks,

Today I had a customer at my retail store ask me to source parts for a project
he designed in Lego Digital Designer. There are 3,742 pieces in 209 lots. I
am obviously not going to create a wanted list for this manually.

I figured i'd just import the parts list into BL and go from there, thinking
surely BL is setup to handle such things.

NOPE!

The only format BL is setup to import is BL XML files. The only formats that
LDD exports as are LXF and XLS. I am sure that there is some magic that can
be worked involving BrickStock, but I shouldn't need a third party program
to get this to work.

With people designing all sorts of things in LDD and LDRAW, BL should be able
to import these formats directly so that those people can source their parts
here. Why this wasn't a priority over the MOC Shop is beyond me. People
are going to be more willing o buy their own designs over someone elses.

So, my suggestion is that BL be able to import, at a minimum:

LEGO Digital Designer files
LDRAW files
Excel Spreadsheet parts lists.

For further incentive: This already works at BrickOwl. I was able to import
the LDD file directly, and BO provided me with an estimate of the cost. This
is all that was needed at this point, but I was able to go further and search
stores for the parts.

Would much prefer to buy here, but if my customer decides to proceed with the
project itlooks like i will be shopping at BO.

Two improvements to the wanted list would greatly increase the workflow of buying
pieces on the site.

1. Quantity, the actual quantity desired not the minimum. I can understand the
reasons for the min quantity, however I believe the desired quantity would be
much more useful. With this information two new abilities can be done.
- As we order parts the quantity could automatically lower.
- The item count in "by shop" could be limited to our desired quantity making
it reflect our desire for there parts versus there stockpile of a single part.

2. Bulk Wanted List Load.
I would be nice to load say 100 parts at once using CSV.

I would like to see
- a list with dates for the monthly maintenance
- a warning 10 minutes before it starts

The daily maintenance we all know it's every day, ánd we receive a warning
a few minutes before. The monthly maintenance takes an hour, we have to log in
again, but it always starts by suprise.

Depending on what you are doing at the time, I would like to see a warning 10
minutes before at least.

In Past when I try upolad file .xml or .lxf BL uploader when cant reconized part
just put null in next screen I just fix it in XML and upload was done.

Right now I have got error like:
1] upload .lxf file "Filed to Upload File: Part not found in catalog." or
2] upload .xml file "one of the items in the xml file is invalide or does not
exist in the bricklink catalog"

And I dont know which one is wrong. When I have 100 project is OK but when My
file have 20 000bricks and there is few bricks with error how I can find wrong
brick in my list??

There should be list of wrong bricks on top of the next screen to fix it just
put right code/number and finish upload without any problems.

I would like to be able omit Super Lots from my search results.
As mainly a collector of minifigs, my biggest pet peeve is finding the first
4 or 5 stores I go to for a minifig and find out it's part of a Super Lot.
Right now the only option I know of is to mark those stores as a least favorite
store and use the omit least favorite store filter.

Perhaps I'm missing an obvious solution that is all ready there
