I like to keep sellers updated on what I build with the bricks they send. It
would be very helpful if Seller Email Address was one of the fields returned
when I download my order history.

There should be a way to put your inventory into BrickLink without being a seller
so that it’s easier to part out sets for wanted lists

If I’m missing something please direct me to the page

Hi,

I want the possibility to see how many parts I already bought from a certain
item.

Cheers,

(I promise not to get butt-hurt if this suggestion gets shot down while in low
orbit).

At this very moment, I am in the middle of processing 49 orders, received in
the last 48 hours. No complaints on that score...I'm glad my store has what
folks are looking for.

However, as I don't like to keep my customers waiting for who-knows-how-long
for an invoice, I felt like I had to at least keep up communications by sending
each of them a quick note on the order of "Your number in line is X (of Y orders)".
My reason for this is so that customers will not simply assume that I am ignoring
them, and that it takes time and effort (on top of working a regular full-time
job) to pull, package, and invoice orders.

So my suggestion is simple, although I am unsure how difficult it would be to
implement code-wise. If a seller has, say, more than X number of orders (minimum
could be set by the seller) at a specified time of day, an automated short message
to the buyer (which the seller can also author the basis of) could say something
like "Please be patient. Your order number in line is #." As orders are invoiced,
tbe number in line drops by -1, and if the number of un-invoiced orders drops
down to the specified minimum, the notes are no longer sent, and will not be
sent unless, again, that seller gets more orders and the number of un-invoiced
numbers again rises to the minimum or greater.

Q: Doesn't that mean that the buyer will keep getting these as their number
in line changes?

A: Preferably not. The idea is that they only get one message - at the moment
that the minimum number of un-invoiced orders reaches or is greater than the
minimum value at the specified time.

Q: But sellers get orders at all hours of the day. When exactly does the system
decide that, okay, this seller at this time has this many orders, which equals
or exceeds X?

A: At a precise time of the day by US Pacific Time; say, early in the morning
following daily maintenance. So say that the seller, at 3:30 AM USPT, has at
that moment 14 un-invoiced orders. Now, the minimum set by the seller to implement
the number-in-line option is 5. But, of these 14, seven have already received
this message. Thus, the remaining seven would, at that time, receive a message
saying "Please be patient. Your order number in line is currently # (of Y un-invoiced
orders)."

Probably a long shot at best, but I daresay that many of us have been in a busy
store (a NY deli comes to mind) - before COVID - where you had to take a paper
number while glancing at a digital indicator which said "Now serving #". This
idea is based on that. At this moment, I am thinking of Baskin-Robbins ice cream
store. Do they still have those?

We, along with others, are investigating payment methods as an alternative to
Paypal who are going through a raft of changes to do with new EU regulations
(PSD2 and SCA).

One such method being looked at is Stripe, however we can find no real information
about its penetration into our UK market/stores as there is no current capability
to set that as a payment method in the find store search page.

One suggestion, and a good one, has been to ask Bricklink to do a one off query
to show some facts and figures of payments processed by which methods (By region)

This might even help you convince people online payment methods are worth looking
at.

Can you, or are you willing to help here? I know it can be done.

When new parts are added to the catalogue and these parts have only a catalogue
weight, please do not default the item to weight bound for packaging type. Just
as IC is not possible if the item does not have a weight entered for the catalogue,
it should be just as impossible for IC if the volume is patently a problem.

This seems to be the only workaround at this time to make the inventory search
function for "Instant Checkout Unavailable" useful.

Case in point this part, which do not appear on that list even though all of
the information to determine whether or not IC should be applied, is not provided:

Part No: 67138 Name: Aircraft Fuselage Forward Bottom Curved 6 x 24 x 1 1/3 with 4 x 21 Recessed Center and 12 x 6 Wings, 20 Holes
*
67138 Aircraft Fuselage Forward Bottom Curved 6 x 24 x 1 1/3 with 4 x 21 Recessed Center and 12 x 6 Wings, 20 Holes
Parts: Aircraft

This part qualifies for IC, will fit my requirements for medium letter by weight,
but is in fact a small packet due to its height, the cost difference is 250%.

The argument that IC is useful enough without being too precise is not valid
if BL do not give sellers the reporting tools required. Setting defaults with
the potential of causing sellers financial loss, without giving sellers the opportunity
to address the issue on listing the item, is not useful.

It would be nice if the seller would be able to change the order status back
to shipped after it is changed to completed.
Especially if the seller accidently changes it to completed.

Suggestions have not worked on the site for quite a period of time, however we
have yet another one which is becoming pressing.

The part-out log. ~It really does need looking at. You cannot search to find
sets that you think you have parted out without walking through all pages - boring
and tedious,

once you find what you are looking for all you get is the date instead of a copy
of what was done. - boring and not very helpful

Please look at this as an area that needs a rethink.

We certainly should be able to search and once you find it you need to be able
to see what was done - e.g. which parts - at what price etc. etc.

I’ve posted about this before but got no response.

It would be nice if the wishlists has a pending status in addition to the “wanted”
and “have” statuses. That way once an order is placed items can go to “pending”
and when it is confirmed it can go to “have”

This is particularly useful with Covid causing shipping delays so items may take
a month or more to arrive if the order is placed from another country.

Its pretty simple, every printed astromech head (for instance) would link back
to its unprinted version under Mold (and vise versa in the "Item Appears In"

Please add a line for "Orders in this store" to the quote page. I cannot remember
the user name of every buyer so I will miss return buyers and quote incorrectly,
leading to acceptance and costly financial transactions to refund discount monies
which should never have been paid. Sometimes buyers forget they have coupons
or to ask for the coupon or coupons expire in which case I have to add those
discounts manually on quote. It is a bit difficult to quote correctly if not
all of the information is available.

TIA

The current forum setup is basically like a mailing list. Not very easy to navigate
or search.
It shouldn't be hard to setup a phpBB or myBB forum that is much easier to
navigate. It is probably even possible to integrate accounts here.

There's actually already a forum at https://forum.bricklink.com/ for stud.io

I think that everybody knows that in the last two years there was a lot of peaople
connecting with BL the first time.

I'm sure that most of them to nopt read the rules...

It is becaming quite common to receive orders from people with zero feedback
that after some days ask for order cancellation.

I think it would be great to have a function to avoid orders from people with
0feedback or at least having the possibility to approve or deny the order before
it became a registered order. It is quite frustrating to cancel orders after
some days and then restock everythink...

We've seen people who have opened up to 5 accounts because they have burned
out previous accounts by being repeat NPB offenders. We report those accounts
it takes a while and they get merged and the offender just opens another account,
completes the orders that suit him and NPBs the others.

As it stands right now, a repeat offender can re-register a new buyer account
with THE SAME MAILING ADDRESS, SAME NAME AND SAME IP ADDRESS.

All you need is a new email address.

This makes it very easy for a buyer to place orders in stores that have banned
him.

The suggestion we're making is to somehow cross reference new accounts with
banned accounts other info (currently BL only cross reference email address and
no other info.)
Such as mailing addresses.

We understand that someone can use a friend or neighbor's mailing address;
it's still more cumbersome for that buyer than just keep the same address
as they can right now.
The current system makes it just too easy for someone to open multiple accounts
with no obstacles.

I'm sure sellers don't want buyers to block their inventory for 10 days
(course of npb process) and i'm sure that buyers wouldn't want inventory
blocked from their favorite stores as they will have to spend more to ship from
multiple sellers.

Hi,

with over 100 Wanted Lists, I would like the chance to organize my Wanted Lists.
Perhaps something like superlists or categories, for instance;

- active (buying)
- save for later

Or the possibility to name them yourself

Just my 2 cents.

Reach out if you want to discuss this more

PS! Keep up the good work

Kind Regards, Pål R

When selecting the option 'Upload My Own Image to BrickLink on Next Page'
when selling something please automatically don't show the BL Catalog images
as well (or give the option to not show them)

Sometimes the reason for using your own image is that what you are selling is
not represented correctly by the default catalog images and for that reason it
would be good for them not to show.

Couple of examples:

An incomplete set.

Selling a single instruction book where there are more than one book for the
set.

Could we have a more complete original box description in the catalogue?
Currently there is only a, not always good, picture of the box and measurements.

The current boxes are usually only a simple, 1 layer, cardboard box with pictures
on all sides.

But the older boxes can be a cardboard sleave with inner box (and what colour
is the inner box). And possible one or more inner trays (plastic of a certain
colour).
And the older (train) sets may have the flap/lid and a see through cover.

I am currently processing some older train sets. And there are some with original
boxes (or parts thereof). But I have no way of knowing if the box I have is complete.
Is the outer box I have all there ever was, or does it also need a inner box
or tray?

So I would like to suggest:
-add more pictures of original packaging
-add a full description using some standard terms (to be determined)

Of course this would need some effort from the bricklink community to add this
information to the catalogue.

When you have 2 or more manuals for one set
it would be very helpful to be able to choose
if I as a seller have complete set of books
or only particular ones.

Right now prices for multiple manuals in one set are messed up
because they single manuals and complete set of manuals
are treated as equal.

I think that separate entry for every single manual would be ideal.

My order processing would benefit from having the Lot IDs on the Order Detail
page.

Maybe the showing of Lot IDs could be an option in the Order Detail Settings?

Am I making myself clear? If not, I have prepared a high quality mockup of
my vision.

I really suggest adding a column to buyers' Cart table to show the sellers'
conditions
(Min purchase, max lot, avg$/lot). Sometimes I have various
sellers with the same items, and I decide to purchase the ones with fewer conditions
(regardless of price). However, I currently do this by creating a table of my
own, which takes time, or by opening multiple browser tabs of the cart I have
with each seller, which is annoying. Besides, there's plenty of room for
an extra column. The box "Source" is too wide anyway.

When you are in a store you can use the auto-fill to build a cart from a wanted
list. It would be nice however if there was an option to auto remove items that
exceed your set max price.

On checkout from my store, please stop:

Pre-selecting a shipping method in my store for any buyer to use.

I cannot and do not set those defaults. BL cannot assume for itself the right
to pick and choose defaults for any contractually determined matter between myself
and the buyer, on my behalf. The shipping method to use is the one the buyer
actively chooses.

I had an order this morning where the buyer told me in prior negotiation what
he wanted. He was then able to place an order using a different shipping method.
This because that experienced buyer did not think to change what was pre-selected
by BL during checkout.

I also had an order last week from a new user who did exactly the same thing.
It is not for BL to choose what shipping method is applicable for any buyer.

BL should stop showing estimated shipping and handling charges, as this gives
a false impression of what they are. For example, I almost placed an order at
this store. But reading through the terms, there are extra handling fees, extra
paypal fees and different shipping costs to those estimated and shown here.

Showing an estimated value gives a false impression, and may lead to a (supposedly
legally binding) order being placed only to find out the actual costs are significantly
higher than those estimated.

Of course, this could be completely removed by making the orders non-binding
until the seller has disclosed all costs and the buyer has a chance to agree
to them. But in the meantime, stop misleading buyers with incorrect estimated
values.

I find that it's very time consuming, adding multiple pictures to the things
I have for sale. The process of uploading them to Bricklink, and adding them
to the items I have for sale is difficult and takes to much time.

I know the rules says, that it is not allowed to link outside Bricklink. But
is there another way to do it smarter ? Multiple pictures, describes the condition
better than words. And it's much easier for the buyer, to see if it's
something they want to buy, instead of waiting for the seller to sent pictures.

Hello,

The site is amazing and very useful. Thank you.

I can choose quite easily a store to buy the specific blocks in a wanted list.

But many of blocks are only sold in abroad stores and that increases the price
and the ETA. In some case, considerably.

Is some case is worth to buy a set that can be find easier to sale than specifics
blocks in my country.

And that is my suggestion: a option to show what is the best set to buy for a
wanted list.

In the result some similar what exists today to choose a store: a list of sets,
with the total of blocks in each want; how many blocks can be used and which
are the blocks.

Thank you for your time and the great work.

Hello

I would like the wanted list(s) to be automatically updated when i purchase certain
items that are on those list(s).
It would really save me a lot of time not having to figure out which items to
delete from the wanted list(s), and which ones to keep.

Kind regards
B3iR3

Hello,

I'm here since 10 years and I really find it wrong that a newcomer has 3
NPB as much as someone who is here since years.

I'll explain you why.

I really believe that a newcomer with 0 to 9 feedbacks shouldn't be allowed
to have more than 1 NPB chance. If you miss that, you're out.
As a seller, I have been targeted too much with newcomers that realize they don't
want to buy after the order was placed. This means my bricks are blocked for
7 to 21 days.
If I do cancel the order, the buyer can give me a negative, so I have to undergo
the NPB procedure in order to prevent the seller from giving nasty feedbacks.

My suggestion follows like this:
0-9 feedbacks rating : 1 NPB / NSS
10-99 2 NPB / NSS
100-999 3 NPB / NSS
1000-9999 4 NPB / NSS
10k+ 5 NPB / NSS

I believe that sellers may be targeted with NSS for facticious reasons, like
"1 piece wasn't in the package, I start a NSS" from a 0 fb rookie who still
doesn't know how BL works. Sometimes BL takes a lot of time to reply and
this lead in the past in the closing of many shops for a third NSS which wasn't
actually real. Giving a 4th or 5th NSS chance it's just a compensation for
possible "fake NSSs".

I'd personally prevent 0-9 feedback rating users from leaving negative feedbacks
too. But that's another story.

Hi,

Can we get a feature that tells us what year a part comes out in a new or previoustly
discontinued color for that part, or a previoustly discontinued color in general
(eg dark turqoise) and also the set that it comes in.

I say this because right now I have to wait for a new set to be on the web, look
closley at photos of it and see if there are any new part recolors, then I will
put it in a table with the part number, the color, the part name, the set it
comes in first, and the quandity.

Luckily Im only doing this with technic / sami-technic parts but as you might
imagine it is quite tedious.

I am aware that there is the NEW keyword bedide a part that has been released
in a new color however this does not tell us what set it comes in right away
because you can have a bricklink part catalog entry but the section "part appears
in" can be blank for a while,

I know that a load of people are interested in part recolors so I think this
feature would make the bricklink catalog a more powerful tool for lego fans!.

Any questions, leave a reply.
Thanks, SNIPE

Hi,
There is one minor problem with login for me:
On double or more wrong login tries, there isn't a clear information about
next login fails, as message stays same.

After additional login error, clearing old error message then adding "Loading
..." text or loading icon for 1-2 seconds or fail counter would be nice to inform
user that login button works and page is loaded again.

As it goes a rule not allowing retaliatory feedback should also be added for
removal of said feedback since as the rules stand retaliatory feedback is allowed:

Feedback you Received:
The following are currently the only valid reasons for which you can request
feedback you received to be removed:
Feedback you received contains vulgar language.
Feedback you received contains personally identifying information including your
name, address, e-mail address or telephone number.
You are the seller and the buyer has not paid. Non-Paying Buyer Alert has been
completed or the buyer has accepted the NPB penalty via NPX.
You are the buyer and the seller has not responded or shipped. Non-Responding
Seller Alert or Non-Shipping Seller Alert has been completed.
Feedback you received was posted by a duplicate account of a user who had their
membership terminated.
Feedback you received was posted by a duplicate account of a user who was on
your Stop List before the order was placed.
If you're requesting feedback to be removed for the last 2 reasons above,
you should contact the Help Desk before you submit the request and let us know
the original username of the duplicate account.
Requests can be submitted until the order is purged from the system - up to 6
months from the order date. Requests are submitted to the BrickLink Administration
for approval. If the feedback is removed, it cannot be reposted. Each request
has a status:

The way i use my wanted lists, I don't want to flag a part as owned until
i get it IRL. As such i use remarks to keep track of things i have ordered and
don't have yet.

Ideally, a 3rd stat e of items on a wishlist would be added - something like
pending. However as that would be a significant back end change for the developers
of the site, i created my own tampermonkey/greasemonkey script to add links to
the my wishlist search for each given part on the order page.

So underneath the part/minifig/set image is a link to search my wishlists for
the given item in the given color. That way when i make an order i can click
through for each of the items and update just the remarks for the parts across
all wishlists.

a feature like that would be really helpful and should be fairly trivial to add
to the codebase. (particularly using server side code instead of scraping the
info needed for the links from content already on the page.

It would be wonderful to have a function to load an incoming order into the personal
inventory, as it is done for partout.
Actually the loading of parts shall be done manually...

I think it would be a good function for both the re-sellers and the users that
want to simply use the inventory function.

Please add filters to the gallery search and the first one should be to filter
out all display only models.

I go to the gallery to find models to download, order and build, not just to
look at. I like to filter out the display only MOCs.

Thank you.

Please consider the implementation of other Stripe payment methods such as Ideal
and Sofort which can be used for instant check out. With these options offsite
payments like IBAN / bank transfers are less needed and it's very convenient/normal
for a lot of European customers to use these methods.

I have to admit that it's also a lot more cost effective to use these payment
methods over the ever increasing PayPal costs. Especially since we're not
transferring those costs to the people who buy Lego from us.

I hope that it won't be that much of a deal for the site developers to implement
since Bricklink already has a connection with Stripe, but I'm no expert in
API's etc...

For more information, please check: https://stripe.com/docs/payments/local-payment-methods

Hello,

I'm currently struggling with multiple wish lists, and updating the owned
parts with my orders, to keep track of how many I still need.

My lists often share the same conbinations of pieces&color, and this prevent
me from applying orders on more than one, without messing the overall count.
(This also prevent me from merging my lists.)

I think it would be great to be able to apply an order on multiple wish lists,
making sure pieces applied to a list aren't applied to the other ones.
You would have to specify which list is the first one, the second one and so
on, and the algorithm would apply the order to the first list, then the remaining
pieces to the second one, and so on.

An alternative feature would be to be able to merge lists which have conflicts
(same pieces&color combinations). Why not addition the wanted quantities, owned
quantities and concatenate the comments? It should be fine with a message explaining
how it deals with the conflicts and asking for confirmation.

Since I have the store, I've noticed that buyers generally don't know
what kind of work there is behind he preparation of an order.

the idea is to give the sellers the possibility to set up a "timeline" (even
automatically, as it happens with the istant invoice) shared with the buyer.

it would turn out as a more "amazon" experience; and help the buyer being calm
while waiting orders

It would be really useful if there was an inventory system implemented for buyers
not just sellers. That way if I buy a set for parts I can simply come on here
and add those parts to my inventory and then any wish list I have containing
those parts would be updated accordingly.

I think we should get a better system for the gallery. I tried searching up something
simple and got many results that don’t match. Should we get an upgrade for it
or not?

Now and then (today for me) it would be handy to be able to merge two orders
from the same customer. I'm going to be sending two separate invoices to
be paid because it seems to be the most proper way to do it in this case. It
would be nice to just merge them.

I wish Bricklink would take a closer look at Brickstock and incorporate at least
some of the features that exist there.

For example the use of multiple filter capabilities would be superb for the order
detail page as well as lots of other areas e.g. part identification etc.

If you look at the image I have attached you will see what I mean. It is a natural
element of SQL and when we had goatleg and miniconfigurator that is how both
of them worked (with some modifications)

It really is not a difficult feature to add and would save hundreds if not thousands
of hours work on behalf of the stores for a small amount of time for developers.

Anyone else feel the same?

The 'and/or' filter is a great tool - is easy to learn and use and with
the catalogue getting more and more complex and populated with data this is really
a must.

BTW - we would have expected something like this in the long delayed (and probably
forgotten about) sellers tools

We've been parting out and listing a lot of sets lately and we use the remark
field to put in the location in our inventory system.

One thing that slows us down a lot when storing parts is that there is no way
to sort the list by remark. That means that we have to run around the warehouse
to put parts in their correct spot and it's a big waste of time. If we could
sort the part out by remarks then we wouldn't have this issue and it's
very likely an easy fix on the side of the site.

Hej,
Would it be possible to show a quick list of items that the shop doesn't
have in a given wanted list ?
Say I have 100 items in any wanted list. While in a shop it says there are 90
available but it's not easy to know which arn't. Plus some duplicate
items and in reality it's just 80/100. So I'd like some option to show
me what's missing.

Hello!

I'm finding it could be useful to be able to search my store inventory for
parts from my wanted lists, or for them to come up when I go to buy from my wanted
list. I would assume my the auto buy thing searches my store as well, but considers
the cost of the pieces. Maybe it could be improved to show parts from my store
as free for me (I have a buyer/seller account, rather than separate ones).

Thanks!

I would really welcome a Bricklink Gift Card, e.g. for 5, 10, 20, 50 euro. Since
that would be a perfect gift for me as a AFOL Lego designer. So a gift card that
anyone can buy directly online from the main Bricklink page, without needing
a membership or login. Because the people gifting, are mostly not Lego fans themself.

Hi,

I would like to suggest that "Date Listed" information be made available to a
seller on each "Item in Order" listed on an Order Summary. This is particularly
helpful when an entire lot has been purchased. Allow me to explain:

On several occasions, I have found the "Date Listed" information to be quite
useful when looking for a part that I am unable to locate in my inventory. For
example, when I see that I listed Part X last Tuesday, I might remember that
I put Part X in Tray Y, in preparation for storage. However, "Date Listed" information
is only available when an item is still in stock or in a stockroom. Once the
lot is sold, the information is no longer available (to the best of my knowledge).
Which puts one in an unfavorable situation if they have misplaced a part and
are on the clock for shipping an order out!

Such a feature might look something like the attached image.

Thanks for your consideration.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement, but it would be helpful if
any part variation notes were present for an un-decorated part, were also shown/propagated
to the catalogue entry for decorated parts, especially in cases where those differences
can cause issues when parts are used in MOCs

I'd like to suggest a new feature for sorting inventories.

Currently, inventories can be sorted "By Color," which groups items alphabetically
based on the color names. I don't find this feature to be very helpful, and
I don't use it very often. Would it be possible/reasonable to add a feature
that uses the Color Guide list instead?

(i.e. sort as "Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet;" not "Blue, Green, Orange,
Red, Violet, Yellow")

the thing I dislike most about ordering from this site, in how hard it is to
control the quality of the pieces that I get.

And I don't think loose pieces should be categorized between "new" and "used",
because all loose pieces are used (Yes I know you can order them individually
from Lego at times, but functionally when you buy lego it comes in a set, outside
of that set they are used).

What there needs to be is a grading scale, either number based (1-5) or description
based (Comics use words like Mint, Near Mint, Very Fine, Fine, etc; playing cards
will use words like Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Damaged, etc).

Sellers would be forced to classify all their pieces into one of these conditions,
and then I would be able to filter out conditions that I thought were unacceptable.

Create a clear cut visual guide for conditions, and award disputes based on that.
I sell cards on www.tcgplayer.com and knowing that buyers can win disputes if
I send them cards that are worse then they wanted, I make sure to put forth the
effort to accurately grade the cards when I list them. Yes it is more work, but
I have never once had an issue with a buyer buying a card from me that they were
unhappy with because of the condition.

In my first batch of orders on this site I got several pieces that were damaged,
etc. It was really frustrating, because when doing mass purchases on this site
it is seemingly impossible to filter out bad pieces, and when you let the site
build the orders for you, its hard to see and notice all the "notes" that sellers
put on their items.

So I don't feel justified in blaming a seller because I received two saddles
with broken clips, forcing me to order two new saddles, because they noted it
on their items. The issue here is the functionality of the website to convey
that to me, and allow me to filter their items from my potential orders.

I honestly would suggest you take a hard look at www.tcgplayer.com Coming from
card games, I was really surprised at how similar the process of buying/selling/collecting
individual cards/decks/sets is to Lego pieces/sets. Like, functionally they are
completely the same, and TCGplayer is a really well honed marketplace (nothing
is perfect), but learning from what they do right would greatly improve your
already fantastic site.

I really wish I didn't have to click into a specific order to see the tracking
#.

It would make a lot of sense, and be really helpful if there was a column on
the Orders page that listed any available tracking number along with the order.
Bonus points if clicking on the tracking number takes me to viewing the tracking
history (via usps website or google, or wherever).

Also, incentives should be made to encourage tracking numbers. 1st class postage
with tracking can be had for around $3 in the US for small items, most places
have charged me at least that regardless of whether they include tracking or
not. It should be prioritized, and required for purchases over a certain amount
as it alleviates a lot of headache and prevents a lot of bad interactions.

When I sell cards on www.Tcgplayer.com, I waive my right to win any dispute with
a buyer if I do not include a tracking #, and I have to include one in order
to get paid for an order over $50. I love it, because when things go missing,
I can just politely point them to the USPS and both Tcgplayer and Paypal will
have my back.

I've been getting more and more messages from buyers wanting to know where
on earth their parcels are.

I've already gotten a neutral over this and I'm sure more are to come.
I know that allowing removals of these negs is a slippery slope so I wont go
there.

I'm suggesting that until the covid crisis is over that BL puts an extra
disclaimer on the feedback area explaining that postal delays are not our fault.

It doesn't even need to be permanent. Just something official. They aren't
reading our terms disclaimers.

Open to any input on this.

So you have a wanted list of 5000 pieces and 350 items. You go ahead and order
them using the auto select feature and it goes to say 17 stores. On the orders
page, as they come in, you choose "completed" to show ou have received the full
order.

Now why would be incredibly helpful is that as you "complete" an order the Wanted
List is was bought from is auto updated to reflect that you now have these pieces.
All the necessary information is already in your system, it should be a relatively
simple matter of pulling those data sources together.

Just like you have a Want List I'd like a Missing Parts in inventory list
option. As we enter parts, when saving to inventory it will alert us 'This
part needed on xxx set or xxx minfig' do you want to continue? Yes to add
to inventory or no. This could be triggered by a mandatory first word Missing
in comments followed by the part number.

Why does bricklink show this? A simple IF statement could be used to only show
a discount when it is possible for a buyer to achieve. Then it doesn't make
the store look stupid by offering discounts that a buyer cannot possibly take
advantage of.

I recently decided to add instant checkout to my store. I received my first
ever neutral feedback because I didn't include a note as requested in the
buyer's comment section. My suggestion is to add the buyer's comments
section on the sellers invoice (like it always has been on the invoice when an
invoice was requested). There is no buyer's comments section on the email
I receive notifying me that an order has been placed. In this instance, this
caused an unpleasant experience for the buyer.

Is it possible for Bricklink to improve the method of requesting insurance for
an order?
Currently one has to add a comment to another area, which I am not sure if the
seller sees.
Also when doing instant checkout through Paypal, there is no way to add insurance,
as the order gets paid for before the seller even sees it. (To the best of my
knowledge, as I am not a seller.) I do add the comment anyway, but it seems
kind of pointless once the money has been sent.
Not sure if I am in the minority with my consistent request for insurance. If
so, then it is more understandable why this may not have been addressed previously
and/or may not be addressed soon.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Someone just ordered from me and marked the order paid when I haven't even
sent an invoice yet! But now the line is grayed out, and I am unable to send
an invoice! Why is there even the option for a buyer to mark the order paid?
As a seller, it doesn't matter to me if the numbers are in bold (showing
'paid' since I don't think it is paid until I check Paypal to make
sure it is in my account. (or received the check in the mail or whatever).
Like Scrooge, I don't ship until I have the 'cash in hand', so I
should be the only one to mark it paid. (or the Paypal link, that is fine too,
just not the buyer).

Hello I am having a small problem. I was wandering if there was a best way to
inventory all my parts I have without putting them into a store? The problem
I am having is I keep reordering parts over and over I already have. My next
question would I be able to compare my wanted list to parts inventory I got already?
Thanks

I think that when going to a category such as Minifigures, parts, or sets there
should be an option to sort from highest to lowest price and vice versa. A benefit
of this would be if I wanted, say, a Ninjago villain because all I have are ninja,
but I don’t want to pay a lot, I could just sort the entire Ninjago minifigure
category from lowest to highest price and select the first cool villain I find,
which is obviously the cheapest because of how it would be sorted. It would make
it a lot easier than searching through a bunch of characters and writing down
all the prices. I have added a picture of where this should go in the catalogue.

I hope you consider my suggestion.

On the page where you can edit the 'mystore' message templates
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/message_templates.page (see picture 1)

please add the link that is used on the "Customize Wanted List Notification"
page
https://www.bricklink.com/mailTempDetail.asp?ID=6&viewFrom=W (see picture 2)

This would be a great help for sellers when searching this subject and it can
easily be done within the current so called spaghetti code

The result could look like the second picture attached to this post.

I have been in the process of designing, buying the parts, and building the set
that I envisioned and created through Lego Digital Designer.

Through this process, I discovered that I have been buying too many of some parts,
not realizing that I had already ordered them. Plus completely forgetting to
buy other parts. With that being said, a question popped into my head as to what
could Bricklink create to help designers, and buyers keep track of the parts
they need.

Why doesn't Bricklink have a history of parts a buyer purchases in their
activity, or account profile history? This feature would definitely make things
super easy while being in the process of building a design, and sticking to a
budget.

Personally, I have never used the "upload" feature for Lego Digital Designer,
so I cannot say if this feature already exists or not. Given that I am trying
to keep my build a secret, to a point, I did not use the "upload" feature, thinking
it may reveal my design.

The thing is, it would be handy to see the history in how many specific parts
I have purchased in total. This feature could then break down where I purchased
these parts, and allow me to add, and see the notes I left for myself for each
store. To make it extra easy, these parts could then be categorized under the
set's design each creator have made, keeping them a secret until after their
reveal.

Perhaps I am over thinking things? Perhaps not?

I do know one thing: When you have a budget, and something is much easier to
use, we tend to use them way more.

Thankfully, I have discovered that most in this community are wonderful individuals,
whom I would easily become great friends with. Working with them to build my
creations has been a blessing.

Thank you to all of those who are amazing, and have helped me along my journey
to build my creations.

Hi

I have been buying and selling on BrickLink for nearly 10 years now and although
it can be a bit clunky it does the job of bringing buyers and sellers together
but just recently changes have been made that have caused problems for buyers
and sellers alike due to lack of communication from those making the changes,
I have listed 2 that have affected me and my buyers int the last week or so.

1) The change to the way the order and payment status works was a complete surprise
and took me a good 30 minutes to work out what was going on (not everyone has
my analytical ability to work this out).

2) The email sent out to buyers when a seller is short of parts (i.e. Problem
with Item in Order), has been made less useful as the link that used to be there
to help buyers 'approve' removal of item(s) is no longer given (yes the
email looks nicer but it is as good as useless). Because I wasn't aware
of this change I chased a buyer saying there was a link in the email which made
me look like I didn't know what I was doing.

I have been working in IT for 40 years and it is recognised good practice to
send out a 'release note' to all users (post it on the site somewhere
and email everyone a link) detailing key changes that are going to be made in
the next release (before the event) so everyone knows and can prepare accordingly.
Please don't say this doesn't apply to 'apps' or Internet based
systems because some of the best sites do this (e.g. www.mid.as).

BrickLink relies on the income provided by it's buyers ordering parts and
sellers paying commission, if you don't communicate properly you risk buyers
and sellers going elsewhere, which would be a big shame.

Please keep us all better informed so we can service our customers properly and
support you all at BrickLink to continue to proved an otherwise great site.

I would appreciate a constructive response from admin to this message

Thanks

We've been using Zelle, which is a Wells Fargo payment method to send/receive
money.
I believe it's only available in the USA but it is a payment method powered
by one of the largest banks in the US- Would it be possible to add this as an
offsite payment method? It is not currently showing on the long list of payment
method that we'd be able to add to our payment profiles as a seller.
Thanks for considering.

I think shipping cost for items should be on this site. Because I love clicking
on an item and expecting to see the shipping cost. ONLY TO SEE NOTHING EXCEPT
A TBD. I WANT TO SPEND MONEY IT IS REALLY THAT HARD TO JUST SHOW WETHER OR NOT
THE SHIPPING PRICE IS ON THE ITEM ????????????????????????????????????????????????

I have verified payments from buyers in PayPal, but the order status has not
updated to "paid", and I can't manually change it. I used to be able to do
this. Did you guys change this feature. Also can't change to shipped once
I do, please advise.

Hi there,

Is it possible to have a feature added to a sellers inventory in which everything
or selected catagorys can be update all at once to average pricing like on the
price guide? You can put sales on and increase and reduce prices by a certain
percent but not all items in that catagory will have gone up or down the same
amount so being able to put everything to this average pricing would be handy.

Hi there,

It would be really good if in the sellers store shipping settings page we could
add in a automated message. For example I have a shipping option which is 'I'm
still shopping' it would be good if when someone selected this option it
automatically sent them a message like 'thanks for your order, please message
us withing 7 days to say you have completed your order so we may invoice you'.
It would save a lot of time from having to write them out for each individual
order. Even better would be if this whole shipping option was avaliable for all
sellers to select and turn on instead of making a shipping option and having
to put in prices (in which mine is 0 until the order is done then worked out
manually).

Hi,

As a BrickLink buyer, I would like to make some suggestions to improve the GUI:

1. It would be great to be able to search for parts in all my orders.

2. In the orders, I would like to keep the ID# of each part. Currently,
only the name of the part is kept.

3. I would like to "prioritize" my Wanted Lists, maybe in two categories
to keep it simple: "priority" and "non priority". Thus, when I shop, I can focus
on the "priority" lists to buy their missing parts, and then potentially add
additional parts to already ordered parts if common with "non priority" lists
(that's what I do manually, currently).

4. In a Wanted List, in the search options, I would like to be able to save
my usual search parameters
, i.e. :
- 100 items per page
- "Hide Items if Have Qty is ≥ Want Qty"
Currently, I have to painfully redo this each and every time I browse my Wanted
Lists.

5. 100 items per page is not enough. 1,000 would be cool, so that there
is a good chance to see all parts in one page (in a Wanted List, in a shop, etc.)

6. In a shop, when you look at a part, BrickLink indicates just below
in a grey line some useful information:
- In which Wanted List this part can be found
- The total wanted and have quantities
a) It would be great to have also an indication of the quantity currently
in orders not yet received
.
b) It would be great also to be able to click on or fly over "In XX Wanted Lists"
to see the actual names of the corresponding Wanted Lists.

7. a) In a shop, it would be cool to have a "Max" button on the right
hand side of the "Add to cart QTY" field, to directly fill the field with
the max quantity available in the shop
. I know there is the "Min/Max" feature
at the top of the page, but they apply to all fields in the page, not part by
part.
b) By the way, it will not apply to other pages of the search, which is a pitty,
because we need to move from page to page in the search to do the operation as
many times as there are pages.

8. + and - buttons are way too small in the QTY fields. They are also
too close one from each other, so you can easily erroneously click on the wrong
one. Maybe if possible, make the buttons bigger, and put one on the right of
the cell, and one on the left, for instance.

9. Tab key should go to the next identical field in the page. For instance,
if my cursor is in the HAVE QTY field of a part, typing Tab should send me to
the HAVE QTY field of the next part in the list.

10. In the Wanted Lists, I would like to be able to "lock" the "Want" fields,
so that I cannot erroneously modify them while I modify the "Have" field just
below. Maybe a simple tickbox in the preferences of the Wanted List to protect
this field would be great.

11. It would be great to be able to present the parts in a "mosaic" view,
like what ReBrickable does. This would be convenient to print in a condense way
the list of parts we are looking for, and maybe keep it with us while going to
the Pick-a-Brick Wall in a Lego shop, for instance.

12. Export functions could be improved:
a) put the full name of the parts with its color name in REMARK XML field, for

b) allow to export all or a selection of Wanted Lists at once, adding the names
of Wanted Lists in the REMARK XML field, for instance.
c) add export functions to orders

What do you think?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hi,

I'm using BrickLink as a Lego builder, buying regularly missing parts to
complete two dozens of sets in the form of Wanted Lists.

A great improvement to the tools provided by BrickLink web site would be to be
able to match ordered parts with my Wanted Lists.

For instance, we could imagine to list below each ordered part in an order the
same part wanted in all my Wanted Lists, with integer fields (with +/- buttons)
to allocated the ordered parts to the Wanted Lists.

Thus, once I've allocated ordered parts to my Wanted Lists, I will be able
to shop again without buying parts already ordered.

In addition, it could be even greater to make a distinction between ordered
parts allocated to Wanted Lists (not yet received) from actually received parts
.
It means that for a part added to "Have" in a Wanted List, we could add a status
"ordered" or "received".

What do you think?

Thanks,
Jonathan.

Hello there. Could be possible please, to add the Costa Rican Colón (CRC) among
the other supported currencies in Bricklink? It can be helpful when pricing the
shipping cost is not compatible with the USD since the fees given by the local
post service are in CRC and thus this wouldn't make possible to create an
onsite payment. Thank you very much.

This may not have been an issue previously, but due to COVID-19, I am weary of
buying from international sellers as a result of reduced flights to and from
certain countries. I say that because through no fault of the seller, 5 of my
orders have been delayed by 2 months now. I still have no idea when / if I will
receive them.

The sellers I've dealt with have all been great (even with a language barrier)
but as a purchaser moving forward, I think it would make sense to see feedback
based on geographic location.

For example, if I'm a US buyer and I want to make a purchase from a store,
I've been finding that I go to the feedback, click on the person who left
the feedback and see where they are located. Doing that is entirely manual and
cumbersome. It would be so much easier to filter the feedback from a specific
location and I can see the most recent orders and feedback from that person by
on location. If they have plenty of US buyers, I can make an educated decision
about parcels still being shipped and reliability of those orders making it to
their destination.

Maybe others won't find that helpful, but as someone from the US that has
not received 5 of their orders, seems like a great way to find feedback from
others in my same area to make me feel more confident in buying from overseas
sellers.

Even after COVID - I think that feature makes a lot of sense.

My wanted list is "foldered" into sets, Minifigs, and parts among other things.
I have some families in there that deserve their own folder but that I still
want under their respective set, Minifig, or part umbrellas. I really think there
should be a way to create a folder within a folder which would further categorize
items and make it much easier to organize and buy.

I would also like to see:

- The ability to move entire folders instead of their contents

- The ability to rename the default wanted list and give it a more appropriate
name for whatever's inside (It's empty for me and is a waste of space
as a result)

Why not continue it to be more layered and intuitive? Not that it isn't already,
I especially love the "Buy All" feature which saves me from an otherwise insufferable
hunt for stores that fulfill my list. These are just things I think would help
make it even more user-friendly.

I don't know the proper place to post this but I have a question about order
received settings.

I see 12 ways to sort items but not really any that sort by item number. I would
like
Condition - Category - Item Number - Color Name

Do most sellers sort by category than number? It seems like that makes most
sense. It would be nice then, if orders could be sorted that same way.

Thanks

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but it would be nice to be able
to edit forum posts after posting them. I can see where this might cause issues,
but many other forum sites support this feature and no matter how many times
I proofread my forum posts, some typos always seem to slip throught.

The functionality to request to remove items from an order, generates an email
to the buyer with this request.
Email is fine!
However, the action that the buyer needs to take (accept or reject, I guess)
is not in that email! It's absolutely unclear where the buyer can accept
this change!
In short: put a functioning link in that email that points to the action(s) that
need to be taken please. I still haven't found where to accept the request.

With the recent changes re. the order statuses, is it possible to prevent buyers
from setting an order as Complete BEFORE the seller has set the order as Shipped?

Many sellers follow their own protocols when processing orders, and orders that
show up as Complete even before they've actually been pulled can really throw
a spanner in the works.

Currently the wanted list "SORT BY" defaults to "Newest."
Could there be a way to remember the last choice?
Or change the default setting for the user?
I prefer to see it in alphabetical order, because it makes it faster to find
what I'm looking for. Currently I have to change it every time, and wait
for the page to reload.

Thanks!

I expect you have heard about the inaccuracies of part lists before.

Since bricklink is now part of Lego, perhaps the bricklink part lists for sets
cold be compared with the Lego lists and corrected as necessary. I expect most
of this could be done with a computer program although it would be nice if one
could get accurate part lists for all those really old sets that one can find
in a friend's great grandfather's attic.

Thank you.

There is an app online called "Set Finder" (http://www.spoofdata.com/setfinder/?id1=6144805)
which allows the user to enter the part number for several parts then the app
will suggest sets that contain those parts. It is not very user friendly and
part numbers are difficult to determine. The part numbers need to be complete
with colour code (sensible for logically reducing the number of possible sets)
but the numbering systems are not very well explained. In addition there are
different numbers for similar parts e.g. "2 x 4 Brick Red" has at least two different
numbers. I think there is an overlap between parts in older sets that have a
different number than newer sets but it can be quite frustrating.

Perhaps this is a function in bricklink which I have not yet discovered. I rarely
Use "Part Out" so perhaps it is there or if not perhaps that would be a good
place to add the "Set Finder " function.

Thank you.

Hi,

According to BL's TOS you must be of legal age or 18 at least to register.
That is completely understandable from the buying/selling point of view.

But what about a junior account without the privileges to buy or sell?
Kids could browse the catalog, make wanted lists - maybe "publish" them or somehow
share them with "proper" users (e.g. parents) and get used to the platform.

This would lead younger users to BL without being "illegal" and without the chance
to make "bogus" orders or other interference with the "business" on this site.

Just an idea as my daughter is building a lot of stuff in Studio and would like
to create her own wanted lists in BL and is generally interested in this site.

Hi,

today I received payment for two orders in "ready" status. So I went packing
them and after that I drove them to the post office right away. Upon my return
I wanted to set these orders directly to shipped. - Not possible - had to set
them to packed first, save, and then to shipped and save again. Just a minor
issue compared to other ones already mentioned but still annoying.
The orders would have been in "packed" for less than 15 minutes. Why make this
mandantory?

To save the almost constant threads that come up in the forum for things like
dealing with shipping to , as well as sales history as well as .... Please add
a new topic to the forum for Knowledgebase items.

That way Brickwilbo and others can refer people to the knowledgebase area for

Do not restrict the ability to send invoices in any order status. The statuses
were implemented for seller convenience and different sellers use different processes.
Further, there are times when I want to send multiple invoices, for example if
the buyer wants to change shipping type. I shouldn't have to fiddle with
the order status repeatedly to get to where I can send an invoice.

This is a recent change, please undo it.

If it's feasible, it'd be nice to be able to organize your want lists
into custom categories. For example, I'd like to be able to have categories
for MOCs, Restoration, and so on. That way I could quickly find lists without
having to change the order or toggle categories to hide them what I don't
immediately need.

I have no idea if this is something that is doable... (I mean, on this site,
I am sure it CAN be done) but a lot of people who buy large collections often
are faced with an issue of finding a partially built set they cannot identify.

To that end, it would be amazing if there was a search available where you could
pick say, 10 or more pieces (would likely pick the least common pieces you
see on it) and enter those and have the results display only the sets that contain
all of those pieces.

Right now, I am sitting on a large number of partial sets and while some are
much easier than others to identify, others are just impossible.

This would be a massive help!

Personally I don’t think we should lose the term minifigure because it’s very
key to how we and Lego describe the majority of their figures and at the moment
there are talks about Minfigs category being changed to ‘Figure’ and possibly
including everything from Lotso Bear to Baby Groot

I did discuss a solution here:-

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1192727

but I think it may have become a bit lost in the rest of the debate but I would
be interested in others thoughts on this or whether the term minifigure is even
still important or what minifigure should refer to going forward?

Here is my original suggestion:-

“On the subject of categorizing figures in general I think breaking down some
of this stuff might make more sense than renaming Minifigs to Figures and then
piling everything into the same place.

It’s a difficult one but I guess you have to start with defining a minifigure
and at the moment I can only think of two ways of doing this where by you define
it by Size after all a clue is in the word MINIfigure which does unfortunately
leave a lot of ambiguity or better still you define minifig by the fact it usesa
Torso Assembly?

Torso Assembly may be a good clear cut way of defining a minifig because almost
all traditional minifigs from a Dementor to a Lord Garmadon use the all-important
standard Torso design that holds a minifig together and its probably the one
key part that really defines what a minifigure looks like when we think of a
minifigure and with that in mind you could categorise as Follows:-

Minifigure – Anything that uses the Standard Torso Assembly design

Modified Figure – Anything from droids, to brick built Droids, to Skeletons and
stuff like Gollum, Slimer, Unikitty, Scurrier, Scooby etc..

Microfigure – Anything very small consisting of a single or maximum of two parts
such as Baby, Baby Yoda, Palpatine Hologram, Baby Groot, Trophy figures and all
those game figures etc..

You are then left with things like Cave Troll, Big Hulk etc. which can either
go under ‘Modified Figure’ or a separate ‘Large Figure’ Category?

Likewise are animals/creatures separated so that Polar bears, Wargs and Horses
go under ‘Modified Figure’ and stuff like baby dinos, spiders and snakes under
‘Microfigure’ or do they have their own ‘Animal category’?

Lots to think about....”

I'm trying to replace a large number of missing parts from a single set.
I think it would be helpful if - from the set list - I could select multiple
pieces and add to my wanted for ordering. If there is a way - I must be overlooking
it

The last couple of weeks we've seen an increasing number of forum posts from
new members with questions about how to use Stud.io.

@Bricklink: Please take some effort to make it more clear that when working in
Stud.io, there's a special forum dedicated to those questions so we won't
have to deal with it here.

I know SilvainS is happy to respond to the questions but the BL forum is not
really the place for it.
Thanks.

One preference that I think might be useful to add to Studio is the ability to
have the Viewpoint move towards where the Mouse is located as you Zoom In or
Zoom Out (using the mouse roller for example.)

Panning the screen does not work very well for me (my mouse roller button is
twitchy) which makes me have to Pan the screen using 2 hands. There may be a
good CAD reason Not to do this, but if you could move the mouse over an area
and have zooming in and out zero in on the location of the mouse, having that
preference I think that would be handy. Basically Mimic the way the big online
Map programs work.

Here are a couple Preference options I'm suggesting be considered.

First, when I open one of my Wanted Lists, it Always defaults to 25 items per
page. Most of my Wanted Lists are larger than that and I have to Change the
default size every time (so that I can see everything on 1 screen). With internet
speeds the way they are today, 100 items pop up quickly. I would like to see
the number of items per page be an option that is remembered. (In fact, in general
I would like to see number of items per page be a preference saved across Bricklink.)

Secondly, along these lines, I would like to see a few more preferences saved
when I select a part. Specifically, a lot of times I have to click "More Options"
and I always have to select "Seller Location". I would like to see both of those
as saved options so I don't have to select them every time I bring up a new
part.

Thanks for your consideration!

Store: Bricks on the Dollar
At least once each day, I have a buyer who either places a second order and pays
for shipping a second time or emails about needing to make an addition to their
paid order.

I'd like to suggest a new feature be worked into the checkout process. If
a buyer places an order in a store which they currently have another order that
is not in the Packed, Shipped, Received, or Completed status, the orders either
be combined or flagged in some way to alert the seller. If would also be helpful
if the checkout of the second order took into consideration any postage already
paid on the first order.

I keep my domestic shipping simple. Spend up to $50, pay $5 postage. Spend $50-$100,
pay $10 postage. Spend over $100, get free shipping. On a system like mine, it
would be very easy to recognize if the buyer needs to pay more in postage, has
already paid enough, or would potentially get a discount back from postage already
paid.

The buyer shouldn't have to do any extra work if they want to order more
from a store that hasn't yet shipped their order. And I'm getting a little
tired of issuing duplicate postage refunds and checking to see if a buyer has
another order. What may be a few hours later for a buyer could be another page
for the seller.

Buying Privileges - OK
I'm relatively new here, but I have about 10 purchase orders completed and
on-the-go right now. I'm not finding Bricklink overly intuitive to be honest
but I haven't goofed since my first order.

So I understand committing to a purchase. As soon as I place an order I take
the seller's item off the market which means a potential lost sale (or more
likely a delayed sale) if I don't follow through.

However, as a buyer, I now find myself in a position where I've committed
to purchase something from a non-responding seller. It has been a week and I
haven't heard a single response. The store's terms do not mention anything
about possible slow response times. I'll consider this my second goof because
I didn't pay attention to the fact that the store also had no selling history
(only purchase history). Fine.

So now I can post an NRS in an attempt to cancel my order -- but now my understanding
is that I have to wait another 2 weeks for it to be truly cancelled! There is
a really good chance that I'll miss out on picking up this item at a reasonable
price from another store during that time. If the seller doesn't come through,
I might now have to spend a lot more to get this item. On the other hand, if
I choose to buy from someone else the original seller could come in at the 11th-hour
and still ding me as a non-paying buyer (at least that's my assumption on
how this works). Right now, I'm thinking I should just take that chance.
Unlike the store who has potentially limitless buyers, item availability is
*definitely* limited and prices just tend to go up over time.

Personally, I think that if a seller doesn't respond within a minimum time
(and I think a week is plenty) a buyer should be given the option to simply cancel.
Maybe it's something the store could configure so buyers can be made aware
of stores that are not managed frequently. If the seller has at least acknowledged
the buyer during that time, then perhaps different rules could apply.

Hi there,

Maybe this idea has been launched by other people.
But I regularly come across items that are not labeled as "incomplete", therefore
at first glance you assume they are complete, but reading the description you
quickly discover the item is not complete (i.e. "missing minifigs and weapons,
otherwise complete"). Which I would argue, is clearly a case of *not complete*.
As a user I would like 1) to be able to quickly filter these offerings out, but
of course this all depends on the seller correctly labeling his offering, and
therefore 2) I would like a quick option to flag such items.

Frankly, I think it's pretty unacceptable to have sellers keep labeling their
items as "complete" when clearly they are not. This is just a sneaky way to mislead
people, or in the "least worst" case, a way to make your item pop up on top of
a search query when really, it shouldn't be there. I don't want to see
your incomplete items when I am searching for complete ones.

N.B. Of course I read descriptions before I read them. But this becomes increadibly
tedious when you are searching for multiple items. And frankly, this shouldn't
be necessary to check for completeness since there is a filter for that, and
it kinda bugs me that sellers are trying to circumvent this system.

Is there a way to fix this that I am missing? Or could something be implemented.

Greetings,
RaginR2

The topic of Neutral feedback and how they are seen as minor negatives comes
up
quite a lot and although I’m sure this idea may not go down well with some....
I think one interesting concept could be to make it so that after 3 months any
feedback
that has not been left automatically turns into a Neutral which would probably
mean about 30% of any sellers feedback will no doubt be made up of Neutrals which
might then make leaving a manual Neutral seem less Negative and more acceptable
for a buyer to submit and for a seller to receive?

A seller could say why should I have to accept receiving Neutrals just because
a buyer couldn’t be bothered to leave feedback but firstly you have to remember
that the same situation will occur for everyone so that shouldn’t matter too
much especially if Neutral is more commonly expected however my theory is that
those customers that are particularly happy with their order be that because
it shipped quickly, well packaged, great parts, no fees, reasonable shipping
cost etc, etc.. are much more likely to WANT to let the seller know its arrived
and they are very happy with everything.
If a customer is left pondering because they are disgruntled about a couple of
things they may then be more inclined to leave Neutral or let it turn to a Neutral
automatically rather than leaving the usual somewhat less than deserved Positive
rating!

My other theory is that you may actually get more people choosing to leave feedback
in the first place because they may not want the seller to receive an automated
Neutral from them but on the other hand this option allows those buyers that
don’t want to leave feedback for a seller who delivered a less than perfect transaction
the option to allow it to just turn to a Neutral.

If you think about it every transaction would be destined to become a Neutral
feedback and only those that specifically choose to give Positive or Negative
will change that eventuality which would probably make more sense?

Therefore two sellers with 100 feedback instead of looking almost identical may
end up looking very different based on their overall performance:-

Seller A:- 70 Positive, 30 Neutral, 0 Negative
Seller B:- 55 Positive, 45 Neutral, 0 Negative

Or at least that’s the theory if you go by the law of averages when it comes
to those that don’t leave any feedback and then add to that all those who had
previously been holding back with giving sellers a Neutral rating!

When you look an item up it has a choice of color: "not applicable". This defines
a item of unknown color. When you chose "not applicable" in the wanted list
it looks like it shows all colors. Instead of using the wording "not applicable"
in the wanted list use the wording of all colors??? But then how would you chose
all colors for the wanted list? Thank You. How can you easily chose more than
1 color instead of what is now an separate entry on the wanted list.

Please don't blame me for bringing up the following suggestion, it might
be a sensitive issue. I don't know if this suggestion has been done before.

I am one of the dealers (both buying asnd selling requently) very slow or even
not giving feedback. The problem is lack of time. We used to give FB once a month
and it took me 1-2 hours. I know, feedback is important and yes, I should give
feedback. But I simply have a lack of time. It looks something done very quickly-
but with many orders it adds up. And there is allways soo much else to do. I
know, I am sorry...

I am mild in my feedbacks as a frequent buyer and seller and 99% are positive.I
give my feedbacks in batch and I paste-copy the comment.

So my proposal is as follows: Most buyers and sellers are mild as well and giving
neutral or negative feedbacks will be done immediately. So most feedbacks will
be positive and have the same message.

Wouldn't it be an idea to have the possibility for AUTOMATIC feedback after
say 2/3 weeks (that can be turned on/off) being 'positive' and a fixed
message? (that can be set by the member)

Of course with the possibility to give 'manual' feedback in those cases
it is required. So only filling in the 'gaps'

And if this goes too far: won't it a good idea to have the possibility to
add a fixed comment in making batch positive feedbacks? It is quite dull work
to copy-paste the same comment 300 times. It would make it at least 65% faster.

For those now spending hours giving all the same FB's it will be a relief
and for those now not giving FB's (including me) it will take away feeling
guilty about this.

For buyers and sellers often not getting the FB's they want it will also
be a great.

And in general it will give a better picture of the proportions. Neutral and
negative feedbacks will allways be given. Getting all the positive feedbacks
will bring a better balance in the FB rate.
