It'd be nice with a link to the feedback for a purchase from the price guide
of a product, to get an idea of how happy the buyer/seller was with the purchase
for the price they gave.

Does it annoy any other Sellers that when you visit your quote page you see EVERY
quote you have ever given? Please add a FILE option so that once a quote is no
longer valid, has been rejected or is even accepted and finished we can make
it go away.

Also, the number in parentheses beside the Quotes (4) link should only represent
open, active, or incomplete quotes. Every time I see it I get a jolt thinking
I have left something undone.

My suggestion is for invoices for new users to automatically go thru the BL message
system (as well as email). This may cut down new users not seeing invoices in
their email for whatever reason.

I don't see that receiving BL invoices via the message system & email is
labeled as the default setting, so I thought I'd suggest it.

The on/off button is currently found in the My Settings: My Contact Settings
section.

There can be a link to disable the feature within the message.

I really like having this feature on at all times, but I can see how some may
find it bothersome.

Hey folks!

Buyers can't see their cart weight unless they enable some obscure option.
Why is that option even not enabled by default? Why can't I, as a seller,
force buyers to see their cart weight in my store?

This means that if buyers aren't aware that this option exists, they have
to guess the weight, ask the seller continuously as they add batches, or request
a bunch of quotes.

Why force this upon ourselves when the website can automatically do it for us?

I suggest we allow sellers to show cart weights to their buyers, even if the
buyers haven't enabled that option.

Thanks for voting!

Hey folks!

I think this option is counter-productive for buyers. (See image below)

Sellers are allowed to turn off the display of cart weight in their store, even
if the buyer has chosen to see cart weight.

This means that if buyers are cost-of-shipping-sensitive, they have to manually
calculate the cart weight, or ask the seller for a quote.

Why force this upon ourselves when the website can automatically do it for us?

I suggest we force sellers to have the weight of cart shown within their store.

Thanks for voting!

In my opinion the largest problem of the Bricklink page is that the final shipping
costs are often unknown till the invoice. It is much too late. I suggest calculating
the maximum shipping costs before the final checkout.
Let me display an example:
The buyer Alice orders parts which weigh 80 grams. The seller Bob states that
the shipping costs are 3 EUR up to 100 grams and 4 EUR up to 200 grams. Bob means
the TOTAL weight while from Alice's point of view the weight of packing materials
is unknown and never stated. This way Alice doesn't know the final price.
(Btw. I suppose it is against the EU law.)

Once I have come across such a case that in seller's opinion the maximum
net weight of parts was about 30 grams to keep the total weight below 100 grams!
Is it fair and clear?

I can see the following solutions:
(i) suggest the buyers to state their shipping costs precisely, in terms of net
weight of parts or dimensions of parts
(ii) apply automatic calcultion of maximum shipping costs on the checkout page
so that the seller couldn't apply higher costs.
The latter one is much better.

Best regards

When you click on an item in a store at present, you go first to the small image,
then have to click again to get a large image. Why not go straight to the large
image?

If your goal is to go to the item in catalog, the picture you go to first makes
no difference.

If your goal is to see a bigger picture of the item, you still have to click
again, why not go straight to larger picture?

There are a number of slow shippers on Bricklink, but bricks are perfect when
they arrive.

I actually like ebay system of being able to rank item/communication/shipping
separately.

hi

not sure if this has been suggested before

I have been a member for a while but only recently started buying lego off here
and I like to keep track of what lego I have but its a pain writing it all down
when I buy lego, as you have an inventory for sellers I think it would be a good
idea to have one for buyers.

as orders arrive I would like to be able to add it to my inventory and also see
a total amount I have of that lego piece next to each item when in a shop, so
it tells me how many Technic, Liftarm 1 x 7 Thick, Black, next to the qty that
the seller has if that makes sense?

not sure about anyone else but this would make it so much easier for me as I
then don't have to keep checking if I have that lego piece when im looking,
this will help me decide if I need more of that lego piece or if I have enough
of them for now and stop me maybe ordering the same pieces from 2 different stores
days a part when I place orders

thank you

Hi,

I don't use the forum very often, but was on yesterday and was annoyed by
the amount of spam that was flying around offering passports etc.

Can i suggest that the forum is restricted to members who have received some
(one) positive feedback for either a purchase or sale.

This would prohibit people from just registering and posting SPAM.

As I understand it, BL sellers and buyers are earning BL several million quid
a year via commission. Can I humbly suggest that some of this profit is redirected
into giving the platform an active customer support staff that is available 24-hours
per day. That such a site relies on volunteers to keep the wheels greased is
a bit perverse given the circumstances.

Just wondering if there is a way to remove "my wanted" list from My own store?
Rather than removing parts for a set line by line.

There are people putting a very rare and expensive part at a very low price in
a super-lot in order to attract people.

That is imho unfair, but permitted.
This also spoils the average price in a terrible way. There should be a simple
option in which you can EXCLUDE super-lots as much as you can exclude incomplete
sets.

The System is already able to find out if a lot is part of a super lot, so that
should be super-easy to implement, and would really help a lot.

Thanks.

It's probably been brought up before, but it would be very handy to include
a tracking link for all open orders. Assuming there is tracking. It would make
things a lot easier for the buyers.

And speaking of the buyers, please bring back the lowest price option on the
auto-finder. Making things easier for the buyers make people buy things. If
you make it harder to buy things, you lose sales.

It makes no sense that you can enter a store you are stoplisted from (let alone
be able to fill your cart and only find you are stoplisted when attempting to
checkout)

Please change it back to the way is used to be that when you tried to enter the
store it tells you you are stoplisted.

Thanks,
Paul.

Maybe this is covered somehow, or I'll just make it as a suggestion. If
I'm looking building a set, or parting out a set, I'd love to know what
the most valuable pieces in that set are. Is there no way to do that already?
I'd love to see a sort by average price on the set inventory page!

It can take a lot of scrolling to find my price/quantities in the price guide
overview.
I always use 'sort by price and group by month' (consolidated currencies).
These options should remain.

So my suggestions for the price guide of a part in a certain color:

-As a seller I would like to see my data (price and quantities) at the top part
of the screen, or at the top of a month.

-Most of the time I am not immediately interested in each separate entry (sold
or available). I would prefer an overview of quantities per price. So instead
of seeing 10 separate entries for each transaction where the part sold for 0.01,
there would only be one entry per price. This will hopefully shorten the overview
somewhat.
--condense/collapse the separate entries to one per price
--it should be possible to click on the condensed/collapsed entry to see
all individual entries

In my own case, I don't use tiered pricing or % off at all and rarely
use reserved. Unless I am mistaken, every field in a web form like a page of
my inventory is taking up memory and slowing down processing and I don't
even use half of the fields. If I could turn those off, the site would be much
more friendly to my iPad.

Hello Admin,

Please add the Community tab back on top of the page when in a store.

To go to Community now we have to either click the Bricklinklogo and end up at
the homepage or click the MyBL link and end up at My Profile and then we see
the Community tab.

Preferrable add the Search too.

Hi,

Is it possible to have a check box within the quotes page to allow us sellers
to remove quotes that have been cancelled/accepted?

I can see the future scenario of where sellers will have multiple pages of quotes
and none of them will be relevant...

The reason I suggest name change is that

NOW

Catalog order:

Mini Doll ...
Mini Fig ...

AFTER CHANGE:

Mini Fig ...
Mini Friend ...

Because having Mini Doll first is driving me crazy.

Also Friend is matches brand name of series for those searching.

Would it be possible to have a number pop up on the my store button when an order

but not a lot of time checking emails so I would be good to see I have an order.

With instant checkout looming around the corner, I would like to have the option
for my buyers to be able to use the instant checkout option when purchasing my
electronically delivered custom model instructions.

However, at the moment, I cannot differentiate these electronic instructions
from actual paper instructions. I am not allowed to set the weight to zero grams
or selecting a checkbox that these are electronic. How will this be handled during
instant checkout with causing some sort of error?

Please allow for an option for sellers of custom instructions to be able to allow
instant checkout.

There are other sellers who use Bricklink for selling these and would benefit
from this implementation. It would also cause less issues and confusion if this
is properly handled. Lastly, this will draw more sellers of custom instructions
to sell through Bricklink instead of other venues.

Thank you for the consideration.

Howdy guys! I was wondering if it is possible to have our picking list separated
into New and Used But still be in order of item number? For example, all the
new would be at the top of the list but be in the correct item number order,
then the used (in correct order) would be after the new. It would be soooo helpful
since the New and Used are obviously in different places in our physical stores.
Yikes, dare I say this BUT, that is how Brickowl does it and it is just much,
much easier to pull.
thanks for lending an ear

With instant checkout coming in the near future, please upgrade the Stripe integration
to perform validation checks between the buyer address and the credit card records.

Also upgrade Stripe so that API is used versus only submitting the user name.

Now that everything minifigure is dual sided, the pictures have effectively halved
in size. Also, the description on the page is large, and picture small (in a
store).

Ebay has gone to bigger pictures (free) which tends to prove they work. Can
we allocate more space to pictures?

Hi, when using the BUY NOW feature of the wanted list, it shows me the stores
but not:
a) condition of the item (new / used)
b) what the price is in each store

Instead I see a "minimum purchase" total.

So you have to go to each store and check, or to the price guide, which doesn't
make a quick buy that quick.

Could we change this?

I'd like to know what the sum of all my 15 current orders are - so I'd
like a "total" section on the orders page.

Piece 2420 (2x2 corner plate) in dark gray is in this set 8 times according to
the Bricklnk parts list, but in reality you need 16. Please fix this, so others
who want to bricklink the set don't encounter the same problem I did when
putting everything together . Thanks!

Please combine the catalog categories on one category:

Bionicle
Hero Factory
Large Figure Part
(and even a few bionicles parts that are for some reason stuck in the technic
category when they are used for nothing other than bionicles).

Then, sub-divide that category into several smaller categories such as:
Head, Mask, Torso, Limb, Foot, etc.

There is no reason to have these three categories. Large amounts of a part found
in one category is used by another. For example, some Hero Factory parts are
used in more bionicle figures than Hero Factory. And wading through any of those
three categories even in their current state in order to find something is almost
ridiculous.

Please revise the catalog policy by removing this restriction to the catalog
from:
"Items that should not be added to the catalog:", Section 1, on this page:
http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=71

"Also, do not submit items which have been verified as never released, even if
a picture is available."

There is already a large list of unreleased sets on bricklink. There is no reason
why more should not be allowed to be added, so that bricklink can remain the
most complete Lego database. (Otherwise, what's the point to even having
the current list???)

And there is no reason why people should not be able to buy and sell these sets
even if the boxes and instructions were not officially released (since many of
these sets can be fully made from the released pieces).

(NOTE: This is not a catalog request, or anything of the sort -- this is
a post which is to be voted on by the community and for the head administration
to see in the SUGGESTIONS for them to possibly implement.)

Thank you for your consideration,

Please revise the catalog policy by removing this restriction to the catalog
from:
"Guidelines for adding items to the catalog:", Section 8, on this page:

"Decorated Minifig Hips and Legs - Submission of entries for the separate component
parts of a printed Minifig, Legs Assembly item is currently discouraged except
under certain circumstances. Those are 1) an administrative judgment that the
minifig involved is significant in some way, and 2) the general design of the

Some sellers don't have anything listed in the terms and conditions and nothing
listed in thes shipping section. Instead everything is posted in their splash
page. This gives those sellers the ability to change their terms and shipping
rates at anytime without the buyer being able to go back and look at the terms/shipping
when they made their purchase.

The only method to prove what the terms were is to make a screenshot of the splash
page when the purchase is made. Then the burden of proof is on the buyer to
prove that the screenshot was the terms/shipping policy when the purchase was
made.

Please start keeping a history of the splash page. For sellers that externally
host their splash page maybe and automatic daily screenshot can be captured and
retained as the terms/shipping policy for the day.

Thank you,
Jacob

Because the new pop up login screen pops up in the middle of the screen is it
disappears under the also popping up keyboard on my mobile phone.

Please consider moving it to the upper right, where it was before.

Thank you.

but takes a good bit longer to load on my computer and/or with my not-so-great

However, there does not seem to be an equivalent for the previous "go to My BL"

Otherwise, great news on attempting to address scammers!

Hello
Maybe this topic was a long time ago, but I would like to ask if you think that
payment via paypal should be immediate after the order is placed. Many of you
had situations where customers canceled orders after a week / two, did not pay,
and you had other people interested in your products and prices. Should not it
be like many other well-known sites that like to buy something immediately pay
for it (via paypal)? What do you think about that?
(Sorry for my not quite good english)

The wanted list search page here https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/search.page
does not provide an option to use the "on hand" values in that search.

Scenarios:
Show me all items on all wanted lists where I have a value in the on hand field
Show me all the items of a particular nature where I have a value in the on hand
field
Show me all items where I do not have a value on hand
Show me all items where the value on hand is equal to the qty wanted

The wanted list view at this page https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/list.page?utm_content=subnav
does not remember my search settings and keeps reverting back.

Scenario:
Change the search to by "Completion" and "Down" sort order.
Open a wanted list to review
Hit browser back arrow to return to the page
Reverts to default search settings

Can you please add the ability to save your default search criteria?

Additionally, a filter to only show those with items on hand / not on hand /
not completed / partially completed would be useful

Consider allowing a user preference to exclude the On-Hand quantity of an item
when searching a store for items on the wanted list.
Scenario:
I have multiple wanted lists with a total of 6 of 1x6 white plates on them
I have previously marked two of these plates on one wanted list as "have"
Search a store and locate that item in the store
Bricklink on that item line tells me I have a total of 6 on my wanted list with
2 "on hand"
When I click the Auto-fill min option bricklink places a quantity of 6 as the
minimum on the item.
I would like the option to exclude the on-hand quantity thus placing a quantity
of 4 on the item line.
Logic is that I have 2 on hand, so why would I want 6 more (only need 4 more)

LEAVING BULK FEEDBACK:

As a seller, this would be very nice to be able to leave feedback in bulk.

Also, being able to create a few preset feedback message that also can be randomly
assigned would be nice as well.

Hello Administrators.
I wanted to point out something.
The order in question never arrived at the destination. My feedback (not negative
but neutral) only indicated this. If to keep the vendor feedback from being immaculate,
you are removed by your administrators, losing the feeling of leaving the feedback
yourself.

Suggest adding brick weight field to the catalog.

I have observed that a buyer cannot tell if a seller has been reasonable in calculating
the shipping costs for an order until they have received the bricks, at which
point it is too late to question it as the order is paid.

In at least two cases I've had a seller overcharge for shipping and fees
by using packaging which is unreasonably heavier than the bricks being shipped.
The only option available to the buyer in this case is to give negative feedback.

If the catalog included brick weight then the buyer could make an informed choice
before paying and negative feedback could be avoided.

I frequently work on a split screen to upload items, compare things etc. If
Bricklink could have the SUBMIT button (i.e. for SEARCH) centered instead of
right justified, this would enable me to not have to scroll.

Suggestion from Matt of White Horse Bricks, in response to my query below:
It would be great if they could be listed against each other as 'alternate
part numbers' in the same way as some parts do.

It would need to be in a way that the search engine and wanted lists point to
both so that people searching in sets get the part listing and vice versa.

Original Question from OOO_Shiny:
I have several new, sealed power functions pieces. They have a set number, and
then a different part number, but it is the same single item.

Examples

Set No: 8886 Name: Power Functions Extension Wire (20cm)
*
8886-1 (Inv) Power Functions Extension Wire (20cm)
1 Part, 2008
Sets: Power Functions
contains only

Part No: 60656 Name: Electric, Power Functions Extension with one Light Bluish Gray End (length 20cm)
*
60656 Electric, Power Functions Extension with one Light Bluish Gray End (length 20cm)
Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector

and

Set No: 8883 Name: Power Functions M-Motor
*
8883-1 (Inv) Power Functions M-Motor
1 Part, 2008
Sets: Power Functions
contains only part

Part No: 58120c01 Name: Electric, Motor 9V Power Functions M with Dark Bluish Gray Bottom
*
58120c01 Electric, Motor 9V Power Functions M with Dark Bluish Gray Bottom
Parts: Electric, Motor

If a buyer is looking for the part, will the single part set also appear? If
not, how do I suggest an addition to the listings pointing out that they are
the same?

Also an issue for

Set No: 8870 Name: Power Functions Light
*
8870-1 (Inv) Power Functions Light
1 Part, 2008
Sets: Power Functions
and

Set No: 8871 Name: Power Functions Extension Wire (50cm)
*
8871-1 (Inv) Power Functions Extension Wire (50cm)
1 Part, 2009
Sets: Power Functions

I use wanted lists and wondered if the following could be added.

1. The option to add a image to individual want lists.
2. The option to set sort order of want lists and for it to remember the order
3. The facility to group different want lists together

Thanks for taking the time to read.

A lot of sites let you click on a tracking number and it takes you right to that
carriers tracking page and shows where your item is. Maybe bricklink could have
sellers "choose a carrier" and then put in the tracking number. Bricklink could
turn that tracking number into a link on the order page. Not sure how all the
fancy stuff works but I didn't see this suggested and it would be really
nice to not have to open a new window all the time.

Hello, Admins

I sell all the parts from sets, but keep the minifigs.
Would it be possible to add a third option to the "Price Guide\Part Out Value\Include"
drop down that excludes the minifig parts?

This will allow me to obtain an average price for only the parts of a set and
sell them as one lot.

Many thanks and regards,
Dan

It would be nice to have the ability to save several addresses and easily switch

keep all the old lists and formats and call it the 'Pro version' for
all the big professional business sellers. Dare I say it some may even be willing
to pay a subscription to keep it the old way and this 'Pro version' !

all the new lists, bulk buy - quick buy thingys and new wanted lists for 'Bricklink
lite Version' for casual inexperienced members

I was wondering its a long shot Im not sure if it is even possible to implement
any of these ideas lol

But I know how Bricklink are trying to get us to embrace new changes a little
bit and I know change is sometimes really hard to take. Especially for some
of the long time users that run as a full on professional business, may find
it really difficult.

Instead of forcing it upon all members. Maybe make it that all new members that
register from say 1st June will not get access to old lists etc, they will only
see the new lists and they will not even know any different!

I don't know if changes to the Bricklink database are even possible, but
I think this would really benefit Bricklink and their vision for the stud.io.

Part variants was one of the problems with sourcing parts for the MOC shop, and
it will be again for stud.io. Users who create a model and want to order the
pieces don't have any efficient way to look for different suitable variants
of a part. It can make a big difference for price and availability.

I suggest that a new "variant" field be added for catalog parts, wanted lists
and store inventory. This would be an attribute similar to the color. It could
be left n/a if the variation hasn't been identified or isn't important.
Or it could be selected a, b, c etc. to specify a particular one.

Unlike the color, variant "a" would have a different meaning for each part. This
would be captured in the part description and pictures.

I've just closed my store, and went to verify my closed message, and instead
saw the 29 minute doomsday message any prospective buyers would see, with zero
inventory to choose from in the highly likely event an active shopper was not
finished shopping.

If my understanding of the logic is correct, this situation would be unpleasant
for anyone whose shopping is interrupted -- 29 minutes and you're stuck
with what you have and no more, i.e. do you want the present unfinished cart
(assuming quantity changes are allowed) or not?

Above is a BrickLink administrator message, and not mine. My closed message
is simply, "Please contact me if needed to finish up an order.".

While no closure interruption is pleasant, I believe my approach is more courteous
than BrickLink's take-it-or-leave-it one.

If I've misinterpreted the added process (Do Store Settings work yet?), apologies.

I suggest allowing sellers to open and close our stores without having to explain
ourselves to BrickLink (e.g. "Other"), and letting us handle potentially interrupted
shoppers, rather than giving them 30 minutes to take-it-or-leave-it.

The implementation 'Items count in selected shop screen' (Apr 27, 2017
15:49) is wrong.
Now you show Unique lots and Total lost (Example: 51 Unique Lots / 51 Total Lots)
My suggestion was Total Lots and Total Items (Example: 51 Total Lots / 230 Total
Items)

We would like to see the following additional sorts added to the find stores
screen.

Please see images - the first two are what we have now. The 3rd image is what
we would like to see as an improvement/enhancement.

This would very much help to gauge where you were as a store in comparison to
others. The current sorts are okay, but adding these will give the stores a real
opportunity to compare themselves with stores of similar size etc.

This is not a massive code change - the query that gest the underlying data for
all existing sorts simply have an "ORDER BY" command associated with them.

Please note we are well aware how frequently that data changes but that really
doesn't matter for the purposes this serves.

Hello Everyone,

In June of last year, we introduced a new Wanted List upgrade. This upgrade came
with a newly-designed buying experience which focused on the necessity to compare
and plan out multiple carts at once, as well as make it easier to manage multiple
lists.

Since BrickLink's Wanted List is a core feature for most users, we currently
provide the classic version for members to use as a backup in case there are
glitches with the new version. This is intended to be a temporary solution.

The classic version of the Wanted List feature will become unavailable on
June 5, 2017.
At this point, we have ensured that the new version of the
Wanted List covers all desired functionality (plus more) from the classic version.
If you have any issues with the new version, please let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you for the continued support, bug reports, and helpful feedback as we
continue to roll out important changes.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

As mentioned in the previous suggestion - we are all waiting on either details
of the sales tools in the next update or the launch of that update, whichever
BL decide to provide. Yesterday I put a suggestion forward for a different type
of view on the price guide which would make our lives much easier. Hopefully
that will garnish enough support to at least get noticed.

Today we want to talk about another very nice addition to the price guide when
trying to use it to determine what you wish to part out.

Currently if you visit Brickset you can find on their full screen inventory view
a summary of the items in each set by category and colour. Unfortunately they
are not the Bricklink categories nor colours, so it takes a little while to convert
that. Please see their summary of set 75030 (image 1).

I have converted that to a Bricklink summary (image 2), which is already in the
system as data and just needs a new view or query set up for us to see it and
use it.

In addition it would be really helpful if when you ask it to part out a set to
determine its value and how many of the items you already have in your inventory
if it not only told you the totals, but to be able to click on that link to see
what individual parts you would be adding or need to complete that set. This
is shown in red in image 3. Make it clickable.

Hope all of this is clear. If not please add your thoughts. Lets get the most
we can out of the catalogue -a fter all we all contribute to it.

We would like to see some changes to the way the price guide can be viewed whilst
waiting for the site update to take place for this area. Currently for those
that use the guide to check prices on items you have to go back and forth between
the 'choose page' and the detail page. So, if you have or want a variety
of say part 2420 in different colours you can spend some time going through the
process to see all the data and then once you have seen it all, unless you write
it down you cannot remember all the info you had to take in.

If an option was available to view 'all colours, for example' you could
have all the information you need in one place. See example. The link at the
end of the table would provide the demographic date for the colour chosen, if
, again for example you wanted to see the prices in the UK for example.

Comments?

(The figures in the example are all fictitious).

Hello,

I just downloaded Stud.io 1.0.0.x, having tried the beta some time ago. Here
are some remarks:

(1) the very first brick I wanted to use in a model built earlier, using LDD,
was not available, although I have bought real copies on the BrickLink: 24309
slope, curved, 3x2, no studs. It's not in LDD, but that is precisely one
of the reasons for using Stud.io: parts that LDD no longer supports.

(2) it takes a very long time for a part description to pop up when one hovers
over its image in the part browser. This tooltip-delay should be settable in
the preferences. I want it to be 0.

(3) interface transition animations should be user-settable to OFF. An example
is the inertia scrolling in the parts browser. They waste my time, lose my attention
and heat up the computer. All animations make me nervous.

(4) 3D rotation of the camera by right-click-and-drag is the other way from what
it is in other 3D programs I use. This direction should be settable in the preferences.

(5) in the macOS version there are several behaviours not according to the usual
Mac interface: option-drag should duplicate, close buttons on windows and palettes
should be at the left not the right, etc.

(6) It is unclear what the camera rotates around. I prefer it to rotate around
the selected items or at the very least to have a choice. This is important
when inspecting a complex technical build close-up. Maybe I missed a setting.

(7) I usually want separate windows for separate models, I positively dislike
applications that put documents in tabs on a single window. Fortunately, for
Stud.io this is not such a nuisance.

One good thing: it no longer hogs my CPU.

Thanks for making it available for free, and keep improving it,

Robert C.

Dear members,
I just tried to get an overview by my current orders checking my want list(s).
If you want to apply your order(s) to the wish list to count items you already
got with your orders you have to select order by order, its not possible to select
all orders and there is no function to prevent to apply 1 order two times.
Items which have not been listed in the want list are not added automaticly.
How is the best way to get a stock list summarising diffrent orders?
Hope to get some answers.
Pete

Mainly it would be handy if we could download them as .bsx files which isn't
much different from the .xml it already downloads as.

Some improvements are required, according to EJFJ Contextual computing :

- wishlists should be sortable, to put up the very important wishlists, and organize
them according to the priority of fullfilling them...
- commands should be doable from many wishlists, and when pieces are commanded
and not paid one icon should appear saying this piece is reserved in one shop
(with the number of such pieces in the same color) and when the command is paid
another icon should illustrate the piece will be delivered (with the mouseover,
the number of command and few informations should be shown) and when the command
is declared as arrived, the pieces should automatically shown as owned in the
wishing list, showing to the user how to split them all in the different wishlists
(as you did with Apply Order link, but automatizing this, allowing the user processing
when and how he wants, without any obligation...). There are problems not recommanding
many times the same pieces, those which are not used in wishlists should be immediately
put as soldable (if the user has a shop and if the pieces are not put in the
special "reserved wish list"). You should use aliases for everything, allowing
users to rename default wishlist and other special items as aliases of official
sets/parts/...
- Colors should illustrate in any shop the importance of buying such pieces according
to the number of items in the wishlist and the percentage reached by this wishlist
and its priority position in the wishlist queue! Informations should be given
according to the number of such items being commanded and to be paid and those
beings delivered and those already received and not attributed to a specific
wishlist (a button should allow to immediately make the transfer of these pieces
in the reserved wishlist, to a specific buying model wishlist, based on priority!)
- Only the best is legal, you command system is very nice, but with Mail Direct
International PSC, any transporter should own the pieces and any step should
be viewable to the final owner of the pieces, and if some are used by someone
else, other pieces are delivered from another shop (automatically!). Please make
things easier for users and more effectiver for all human beings, sparing risks
of any mistake... Put reminders and inform what is being done and how to proceed
to solve any problem (unavailable pieces commanded should be commanded from another
shop having same or lower price)... Delivery should be quite free (because of
Mail Direct International PSC international reference norms!) based on Bill !T
automatic retribution of any convenient act! Thank you...

I miss the ability to right-click to focus on an object like Lego Digital Designer
has. I haven't found a way to "Zoom to Fit SELECTION to Window" anywhere.
Also, the right-shift+right-click to pan does not work. As a lefty who is used
to using the right-shift, it trips me up. For these reasons I still do my building
in LDD and import models to Stud.io when I'm ready to start purchasing. Don't
get me wrong, Stud.io is insanely cooler than LDD in most ways that count, just
not as my primary building tool... yet. Keep up the amazing work!

I have had to cancel quite a few new buyer International orders when they find
out the shipping costs. Is there a way to have them request ahead of tome so
I don't have so many cancelled orders?

Right now, compared to the rest of the site, the Stud.io Gallery page doesn't
seem to be as flexible with its searching considerations. For instance, if you
search for "Headz" it brings up 2 results, but if you search for "BrickHeadz"
it brings up like 16 results.

It just seems like it should operate like the rest of the site would and bring
up all 18 results from searching for "Headz" alone

I think it would be handy to have one of those Scroll to Top buttons that appear
after you scroll way down on a page. Similar to how eBay does it. There's
more than a few pages around the site that could benefit from this. I personally
was just looking at the Stud.io Gallery page and had scrolled all the way to
the bottom and loaded everything it would load when I realized I had to manually
scroll back to the top to search for something.

It's a minor thing but would be handy if anyone could find the time to add
it

Greetings good citizen of Bricklink forums,

I have been wondering for some time, is there a way to change the "order status"
of multiple orders at once? It would be nice to change all orders that are
packed/paid to "shipped" when the time is right. Is there a way to do this
that I don't see? It gets tedious changing the status one by one.

Thank you!

Cheers,
Captain Q

I think with all the nice improvements we've been seeing around the site
it might be nice if the forum received some of that same attention to detail
and got a nice overhaul too. Maybe something more closely resemblant to this

The ability to declare multiple things for one wanted list line item, essentially.

For instance, I want Part A in Colors B, C, or D provided they can meet my desired
quantity, or price if I set one.
This would generate a random best price mix of the 3 colors in the 1 part specified.

It would likely be helpful too in the case where multiple colors were an option
if you could somehow specify whether you wanted to buy them as a mix of the colors
or only the cheapest color from the options. I want Part A in Colors B, C, and
D. I want Part A in Colors B, C, or D. And vs. Or

If this were applied to my Part as well then I could buy Part A, B, C in colors
D, E, F as one line item with a combined quantity and max price restriction if
set.
This would generate a random best price mix of the 3 parts in the 3 colors specified.

The logistics of making wanted lists handle multiple items and colors is likely
not worth it.
But, it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to make them handle multiple colors
per item.

I think with the new Auto Find buying tool this would be quite helpful and could
be very interesting to play with

It would be nifty if we could download the orders we've placed as individual
or bulk PDF's so they could retain their images, layout, and info. all in
one package even after being purged from the site

I like to sometimes create animated gifs with Photoshop with my Rendered images
to show off my Lego creations. I would like to be able to post them here when
uploading a creation. I would like you to include gif functionality to this site.
I think that it would be really cool.

This applies to the Orders Placed. Right now it seems that only some order detail
pages have the currency converted and visible alongside the foreign currency
it was converted from. These detail pages indicate the conversion took place
by way of XE.com at the bottom of the detail page.

I would like to see that added to all qualifying detail pages instead of the
random few it gets applied to now. It would be helpful too if there were an option
to display all prices in our native currency as some can be very confusing to
mentally convert at a glance (CZK-USD), maybe by way of optional columns, or
column options for the "Items in Order" table. Then we could adjust the table
to our preferred Order Detail layout, currencies, and weights

At the very least it would be nice to have those converted Grand Totals for each
order it could be applied too.

If possible

Hi
I know there are many ways to have stored your bricks - mine are by color and
item no. That works for me.
Is it too much to ask, if it could be possible to add " By color , item no" into
the setting options of received orders? Then I would not have to open my boxes
again and again when picking the order.
I would so much appreciate this!

Best regards
Petra

New Layout will allow option for 2 lines

On the New Layout of orders, please allow the option of viewing some important
fields on a second line, if a second line is chosen by the user.

You have already received the important input in the default size of the text,
so I do not need to mention that, other than to say that it is expected and would
absolutely be needed for approving this suggestion, and the point of this is
to reduce the width of the already smaller text that is expected, while adding
a 2nd line to show every important (sometimes optional) field.

Allowing a second line exists already -- and has been a useless option in
the Classic Layout to view only My Order Notes on a second line, below the required
fields like shipping cost.

The following will drastically reduce the necessary width of viewing details
of every order, by placing these important fields, that are related to each other,
directly on top and bottom of the text. Some examples and suggestions:

Please allow ID Invoice # and the date of that field directly below.

Buyer Name and Username will both be shown directly together, top and bottom
of each line at the exact spot when programming this field (not far away from
each other, to the right or left).

The two additional charge fields on the second line, below the required shipping
cost.

Order Payment Status Selection Box on top, and the Date Payment Status Changed
directly below. And Order Status Selection Box and Date Order Status Changed
shown directly below.

And the long tracking# field on the second line.

etc, etc, etc...

But when programmers edit the New Layout after our user response the past week,
please give us these options, they will be very useful for viewing our orders
especially on tablet and mobile devices, in addition to the very most important
factor of viewing our orders on any computer.

Thanks,
Danny

Please allow hitting the escape button to exit an image.

Currently the user must either click the "X" on the window or click somewhere
else on the screen. Some users, such as myself, prefer to minimize the use of
the mouse and use keyboard commands instead.

Thank you,

When clicking on an image, please show the large image by default.

The small image is already visible when user clicks on the image, so clicking
on the image shows nothing different that what was already shown. It seems unnecessary
to click on the image and see the same image and then click again to see the
larger image.

Thank you,

I requested this a while back and the status is "already exists". I think my
request was misinterpreted/misunderstood.
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1007032

Please make it so that the tracking number can be displayed on the Orders Placed
Page. As shown in this picture.

This option already existing on the order received page, however not on the orders
placed. The buyer has to click on each order to determine the tracking number
(or if the buyer put the number on the order).

This currently is not an option for orders placed (as shown in the picture).

Thank you,
Cob

Please, add items quantity in the 'Confirm Store Selection' screen.
The only Lots quantity is not enough.

Hello all!

On orders page, we have the possibility of downloading all orders. Until now
i used this very often to calculate what i have sold, and importing on my own
software.

But since i am VAT registered, on my orders page, i have a checkbox with "VAT",
so i can see where i will have to discount belgian VAT.

But when i download orders, i have not this information, and it would be an awesome
feature if on downloaded xls file, it shows a column with something like a "1"
when VAT is checked and a "0" when it's not.

So with the downloaded file, i could see or calculate immediatly where i have
VAT or not, it very useful to calculate VAT to refund or not, also to import
on any invoicing software.

I think it could be an awesome feature for a lot of pro's, no?

I forgot one of the things I wanted to suggest in the other post until just now:

Currently in my inventory screen I can grab all of the blue pieces or all
of the minifigs or all of the brackets or all of the used pieces and I can see
a total piece and lot count of the group or the total value of the group and
I can put all of the group on sale or delete all of the group. My I and I think
most sellers use the remarks or comments section to organize inventory. I'd
like to be able to search for everything with a certain keyword in remarks or
comments and be able to manipulate that like I can blue pieces or brackets.

I sometimes search for a set reference in my inventory, if I have no results
I switch to all items search, maybe a button can be added to the inventory search
that continues the search but in the all items section:

something like:
"Havent found what you are looking for? press here to rerun the search
in all items"

Example:
When uploading instructions I like to check in my inventory if I already have
the set for sale that do not have the instructions. if the search result does
not return any results I will want to upload it into my store but have to change
the group to All items, then run the search again. its a very small improvement,
but it will save me a step everytime I do this.

thanks for reading!

There was another thread today about customs/VAT on import, and I thought
I had suggested this in the past but I couldn't find it in searching the
suggestion history, so I'm submitting it now.

Quick & Easy:
1. Create a simple pop-up in the checkout process for international orders that
warns the buyer that they are fully responsible for any customs/duties/VAT/collection
fees etc that their country may charge for importing goods. Buyer must check
the "I acknowledge" button before being allowed to complete checkout.

Further Enhancements:
2. Store a table with the known thresholds for each country (e.g. £15 for UK,
€22 for Netherlands, etc). This data can be simply crowdsourced. Only display
the popup when the order value exceeds the threshold for the buyer's country.

3. Show the customs warning message in English AND the national language of the
buyer's country in the message box.

4. Add a database element to the orders table to record the timestamp that the
buyer acknowledged the customs warning. Display the Edit Order UI page for seller's
reference.

5. When a buyer is adding items to cart that exceed the customs threshold, display
a warning icon in the shopping cart indicator. Mouseover text on the warning
icon should show "This order may be subject to import duties for {buyer's
country}"

I am NOT suggesting that BL get in the business of managing customs and import
duties. This is simply a warning message to the buyer to educate them. The
goal of this suggestion is buyer satisfaction and reducing frustration/surprise
for buyers that aren't aware of their own country's rules.

I would like to have the option to have 'major parts' shown at the top
of a part list, as a button next to "| Break Sets | Break Minifigs | New Items
"

Major parts could be loosely defined as things like motors, pneumatics, linear
actuators, or perhaps even user-defined, depending on what you're looking
for. Especially in larger sets it is annoying to have to scroll through the entire
list to find them!

When the "All Items" search is used in the header, you get a page of results.
On that page is a dropdown box with the word "Sort:" next to it (see image below).

Could you please add two new sort methods to this list: Item Number (Asc)
and Item Number (Desc)? And at the same time, could you please change
the wording in front of the dropdown box to say "Sort by:" instead of
just "Sort:" and put it in bold text?

The reason for this suggestion is that I do a *lot* of work in the catalog by
item number and by item name. Sorting by item name is covered in the dropdown
box, but sorting by item number is not. Due to this, I always have to switch
to the "Catalog Items" search to accomplish anything by item number. This adds
a lot of extra steps to my searches that are unnecessary, and I am sure that
I am not the only one who would benefit from these additions.

Thanks for your consideration,
Randy

When removing items from an order, there's no built in feature for putting
those items back into your inventory. I'm thinking there should be something
like there is for canceling an order.

Currently there is no copy of this attached to the order it refers to. In order

I would like the feature for tiered pricing to allow me to state a quantity and
% off of the regular price. As it is, the system allows you to set a tiered
quantity and tiered price, but this makes managing prices across large inventories
of tiered items tedious. Having a % off feature would enable automatic pricing
adjustments to the tiered pricing when you adjust the standard pricing.

For your consideration.....

Hello,

Would it be possible to get a notification (in the inbox) of a buyer's comments
when an order is submitted? Currently, when an order is submitted with a comment,
sellers aren't notified that the buyer left them a comment. The only way
for a seller to know the buyer said anything is to discover the comment by opening
the order page. On the other hand, if a buyer places an order and then sends
the seller a message later on, the seller is notified. So, can we treat the original
comment submitted in an order the same way as a message and notify the seller?

I can also understand that sellers may be opposed to this because often times
the comments submitted with an order do not require a response, such as a simple
"Thank you." However I believe it is more important to have these comments show
up in a seller's inbox to ensure that the message is at least read and responded
to, if necessary.

Best regards,
Netaniel

Please add the part numbers to the checkout page.

Currently the checkout page only has the image, description, condition and the
condition notes. I prefer to verify my purchase at checkout and I am getting
the correct part numbers. I am unable to with the current checkout page layout.

Thank you,

This is likely a controversial suggestion but I'm going to make it anyway.
I think Bricklink should require all sellers to disclose whether they are selling
in a private or business capacity. That's it, a simple choice in the store
settings page and a line of text disclosing the choice somewhere on each store's
Terms page.

Why? Three reasons.

One:-

It allows other Bricklink users - however they be defined (customers, buyers,
consumers, competitors, etc.) - to make informed choices.

Two:-

It helps ensure compliance with Rule 13 of the Terms of Service.

Three:-

Why not?

At present BL actively protects the contact details of all members, disclosing
this information only when a contract exists between two users. This is perfectly
reasonable when you consider that a seller is often acting in a personal capacity,
selling their own goods.

However, an unintended side-effect of this is that it allows business sellers
to (1) masquerade as private sellers and/or (2) evade relevant national laws
(which in turn means they're failing to abide by BL's ToS).

As an example, in the United Kingdom, all businesses who sell 'at distance'
are required to publish their geographical address and contact details. This
is a requirement under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and
Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

If BL required a seller to disclose whether they're selling as a private
individual or a business concern, and then publishes that information, it would
help buyers in the following ways:-

(1) it would be possible to see at a glance whether or not a transaction with
that seller would be covered by applicable consumer laws.
(2) It would allow users to check that a seller is complying with their legal
obligations (such as by publishing their business address), and avoid those who
are not if they choose to.
(3) It would help buyers seek legal redress should something go wrong.
(4) It may also help in the fight against fraudulent sellers.

What do other multi-national selling platforms do?

Others, such as Ebay, Amazon Marketplace, Etsy, etc., require sellers to state
whether or not they are selling in a private or business capacity. Some actually
mandate that all sellers must be a business (I do not propose this for BL).

Law is different in every country

Which is why my suggestion seeks only to have sellers disclose whether or not
they're acting in a personal capacity or as a business. I do not ask BL to
check the disclosure or otherwise ensure that sellers are acting in accordance
with relevant laws. Users would remain responsible for knowing their rights and
obligations.

Why is this necessary?

Some sellers are clearly not complying with their national regulations. In my
opinion this tarnishes Bricklink and all sellers by association. Many will not
see Bricklink as a safe option when compared to other platforms if sellers are
openly attempting to enforce illegal terms.

Hello bricklink,

I have a suggestion for the auto-finder function when you want to buy the parts
on a wanted list.

When I use the auto-finder function with best value... often the result has at
least one shop that has a minimum lot average for buying that is higher than
the selected lot. You only find out during checkout! And there is no other option
than buying extra stuf you do not really need.

In my last search action all parts were found in three shops... one shop more
than 100 euro. Lot average 1.0399 but minimum buy lot averge 4.00 so it was not
possible to proceed to checkout.
A new search gives the same result.

My suggestion:
1. Please take into account the minimum lot average in the search results.
2. Do not give one possible combination of shops for the best value but show
two or three options in shop combinations after the best value the second and
third best values.

Best regards,
Roland

Hi,
in the Wanted list i suggest to auto-deselect all items after any changes.
Often i change quantity for one item, then i delete another and accidentally
delete also the first.
Thank you.

Hi there,

i'm writing for a customer of mine a few tools which are using your API.
What bothers me currently the most is that there are to few parameters for the
Get /orders call. What we do is that we are asking all orders with the status
shipped to send a feedback and the drive_thru over the API. But since there are
not enough parameters i can provide to the API, the result will be a huge list
of orders, because the least customers are marking their orders as received.

There are several things (filters) you can include to safe server power and bandwidth,
but the easiest one is a date-filter. Let the people give the API an "From-Date"
and a "To-Date". The results are than only these in between. If you only transmit
one of them than every order up or from than will be send. If none is given,
than you do as you do now and give just everything back.

This would be pretty helpful not only for me, but also for your servers.
Other users can write other parameters they wish, like and "feedback given" parameter.

Another solution for our problem would be, if there would be more push-notification-options.
If i could receive a push-notification when the status of an order is changed
(and not only by the buyer).

So i would be really pleased if you could implement a few more parameters to
the GET /orders call as soon as possible.

Best regards

As a BUYER, I'd like to be able to show the current average sale price of
an item, when browsing a store.

Its not like the information isn't out there, but having it displayed when
shopping would certainly help. Now I have to spend a bunch of times comparing
price guides, etc.

I know some sellers would say NO, it makes price differences too obvious, etc;
but there could be a filter; maybe only show the price if the difference is x%
or more/less.

Thoughts?

(I WAS going to investigate on how this my be accomplished via a GreaseMonkey/TamperMonkey
script, but haven't got that far yet)
