Is it possible to add those? (Can I submit them?) Or is this an area that
is not added to the catalog typically?

Thanks for your time!

Thank you all for the replies. I will certainly consider listing as 'custom'
items.

If you don't mind me asking, why do they choose not to add these to the catalog?
(Maybe you won't know, but I am curious anyways). They are official Lego
sets with Lego pieces, and the instructions have Lego logo and trademark all
over it. I thought it fit into the requirements for adding to the catalog.
Thanks for your time, I'm just trying to understand the guidelines for the
catalog.

Todd

I've got the sets so I can get an inventory, pictures, etc.

At this time, they will not be accepted if you submit them.

These are not added to the catalog at the present time. I can't say if they
will ever be added or not.

Hi again, what do you advise if nobody uploads the pictures? I spent a few hours
doing this because I thought it would lead to me being able to complete the set!

I'm missing the following four parts so can't take photographs (and needed
to add them to the database to make them easier to find for sale!). The others
have been approved but not sure what to do for these ones?

6636pb214

We don't generally approve catalog entries without photographs. There are
some very limited exceptions, but these stickered counterparts would not qualify.

Don't feel too bad, though - there are thousands of stickered counterparts
not yet in the catalog. If anyone wants to contribute images for your pending
catalog entries, then I've linked them below:

Part No: 6636pb214 Name: Tile 1 x 6 with White 'POLICE' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 60207
*
6636pb214 Tile 1 x 6 with White 'POLICE' Pattern (Sticker) - Set 60207
Parts: Tile, Decorated

Part No: 54200pb096R Name: Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3 with White Headlight Pattern Model Right Side (Sticker) - Set 75877
*
54200pb096R Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3 with White Headlight Pattern Model Right Side (Sticker) - Set 75877

We'll give it a week or so and then the pending entries will be removed.

Here's the problem with the "rust" parts. Were they really meant to be what
we consider the color rust? Or are they red parts that have changed color over
time?

For example, if we see the "brittle blue" parts these days, we know they look
absolutely different to the blue parts we know and love. However, these parts
probably looked just like blue parts when they were originally released in sets.

Also, the two parts that you have here are the same two parts that have been
documented as being found in a color very close to what looks like bright light
orange but were actually supposed to be yellow. I have a feeling that these color
changes may have to do with the type of plastic used for these two parts.

It would be nice for some of the resident color experts to chime in on this one.

Cheers,
Randy

Isn't there a mess with "rust" on Bricklink
WoutR list
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1146513

"27 Rust
= 13 Red Orange (Duplo cows, Fabuland heads)
= The other BrickLink Rust parts are probably an odd version of 21 Bright Red
(?) but that color is so different that the separate listing is justified."
https://www.flickr.com/photos/126975831@N07/14960664342/

and

"68 Dark Orange
= 38 Dark Orange
= 216 Rust (for Skateboard 48394, Ladle x234, Dog 51163cx1)"

Thanks for your consideration...

The decision to add these sets to the catalog is not my decision. I was just
relaying information. And that information was that these "sets" have never been
accepted into the catalog, and they may never be accepted into the catalog. Meaning
that if they were to be submitted to the catalog right now, they would be rejected.
That may change in the future, but I know about as much on that as the next person.
What seller's can do is list them as custom items in their stores.

That's another interesting piece of the puzzle, thanks. Hopefully the OP
will read this thread and get that information.

I am still trying to figure this site out, it's not easy... is there a place
on the site I can go and see an organizational chart? And job descriptions?

Thanks, again,
James

Hi,
I recently bought a holder for trading cards, and it has a list of all the possible
cards (SW Series 2) with their numbers. Does it help if I add all the items to
the catalog? I have a few more where I will also add the images of the cards,
but in many cases, I won't.
Thanks,
Tamas

I opened another of these tonight to get the green 32064c that I sold before I realized I had. I found this along the way.

The part count on the box is 100 pieces, so LEGO considered more than two of
these rubber bands as regular parts. Unfortunately, I can't prove how many.

2 pieces that only came in red or rust in two sets, I bought this feeling pretty
sure that they'd be the same. Not too many were made. So if we're going
to recognize the color rust, I think all of these parts are rust and not red.
They might have looked the same new, but they don't look the same now.

-=-=-

A while back I noticed I had two colors of red in 11214. I hadn't documented
it and when I got some more I didn't document it again because I just thought
it was a variation. But the darker ones are a perfect match for these rust parts.
So that's a piece that came in both colors. To repeat, I have taken rust
11214 from more than one set, but I have no way of saying which sets.

Comments from Submitter:
Torso should be black not variable color.

Torsos are always variable color in torso assemblies. This request will not be
accepted.

Cheers,
Randy

Okay, I was writing to ask why but just found out why it is that way clicking
some torsos

Thanks!

The parts list (via Brickset.com) from LEGO replacement parts website says one 8 tooth gear should be regular.
But why?

Because it is used in an alternate model from the CD-ROM.

Awesome, Jonas! I could not figure out why that part was included!

Besides Jonathan's set, I had found many images of other sealed sets showing
the gears included in the set, so I knew they had to be used for something. Nice
detective work!

Technically speaking the inventory is incorrect because of the different LEGO
logos on the back of the torso.

Part No: 973pb0678c01 Name: Torso Pirate Captain Jacket Open with Yellow Trim over Green Shirt with Neck Ruffle, Brown Strap, Belt with Buckle, LEGO Logo on Back Pattern / Black Arms / Light Gray Hook Left / Yellow Hand Right
*
973pb0678c01 (Inv) Torso Pirate Captain Jacket Open with Yellow Trim over Green Shirt with Neck Ruffle, Brown Strap, Belt with Buckle, LEGO Logo on Back Pattern / Black Arms / Light Gray Hook Left / Yellow Hand Right
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

Part No: 973pb0678 Name: Torso Pirate Captain Jacket Open with Yellow Trim over Green Shirt with Neck Ruffle, Brown Strap, Belt with Buckle, LEGO Logo on Back Pattern
*
973pb0678 Torso Pirate Captain Jacket Open with Yellow Trim over Green Shirt with Neck Ruffle, Brown Strap, Belt with Buckle, LEGO Logo on Back Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Torso

But considering the number of items for sale and recently sold items it's
probably not a big problem...

Thanks,

You don't use Instant Checkout, so why not just put your code on facebook
or wherever, saying add it to the order comments. Then you can manually adjust.

Sounds like a grocery store where you need a keycard for some deals and then
an app for even more. To me, it is unnecessary when you have the power to reduce
prices or run general sales for all customers and advertise as such. I'd
be quite upset if I bought from a store, and then realized that I could have
saved 10% if I saw some advertisement from somewhere else. This is just like
when any of us buy something and then learn it was cheaper if we entered some
code at checkout.

PS: Any Grocery Store Managers or Corporate see this... STOP IT. I'm already
in your store. Just give me the best price you are advertising without having
to go through all the extra steps!

PSS: I understand fully how advertising works. I just think it is getting ridiculous.
Keep it simple for all of us customers, no matter what industry we are talking
about.

The goal isn’t to have every buyer pay the “best” price. This “best” price is
funded by the ones who don’t pay it.
IOW, you say “when you have the power to reduce prices or run general sales for
all customers,” but that’s the thing: they can’t afford to reduce the prices
for everyone, or it would be a tiny, unmemorable reduction. So they do the next
best thing: make you believe they reduce the prices often. Too bad you always
miss it.

And there’s lots of psychological reasons: feeling special, feeling the discount
is earned, remembering the prices are low even if you paid more, etc.

Also, people are different: You get upset when you realize you missed a discount
while others don’t care and just throw away coupons. And it seems to work because
they do it again and again (and they have the numbers to know if it’s efficient).

Adding yet another facility to race to the bottom - are you sure that is a good
thing?

Whilst figures rarely lie - they also mislead people. The latest digital media
usage figures are shown below and that ia a heck of a lot of people using social
media - but conversely the other half + do not use it (we are one of those).
Let your store speak for itself with quality goods, wide variety and first class
customer service - that will drive people to it as well as encouraging them to
return and become regular buyers/customers. Why do it with discounts? There really
isn't that much real margin in selling Lego.

We see enough 40/50/60 + % sales notices in the forum to do us for a lifetime
without adding to it.

Voted no, needless to say.

I think part of the idea is to draw people to the site that don't know about
bricklink

buts its like that flyer for the takeaway down the road, you ignore it! but then
if its saying get 50% off maybe you will look into it a bit more? Takeaway leaflets
are not the best example as I ignore them all anyway but I think you get the
idea....

Nothing wrong with drawing people to the site e.g. encouraging it for the right
reasons. Perhaps with TLG actually getting involved and some marketing effort
put in by the new owners that can be achieved without further discounting. A
lot of people are put off by discounts - not all, of course , There is so much
more to be done to the site and Lego's involvement needs to get stronger
and stronger - and that should pull more people here.

There will be people, some already, who think this is a good idea. In fact there
probably isn't anything wrong with it but we wouldn't use it as we aren't
interested in seeing 'how low can you go' - That isn't part of our
business model - it may be for others.

Its actually a very good idea but I have a feeling it may take a bit of time

This feature could have a usage limit too. For example, I could generate a coupon
code for 20% off and it would work for the first 10 orders.

  Hi,

I think it would be great if you could generate a code for your store so people
could enter it for a discount.

This would be good for marketing on social media rather than having to issue
individual coupons.

Is there any chance this could be developed?

Thanks,

Allen.

It would be effective in driving traffic to the site.

Interested in reading other inputs. What are the downsides (if any) to the idea.

The downsides would be that you have to give a discount!

Comments from Submitter:
Torso should be black not variable color.

No, it should definitely be variable color.

Set No: 9735 Name: Robotics Discovery Set

9735-1 (Inv) Robotics Discovery Set
387 Parts, 1999
Sets: MINDSTORMS: RCX

* Change 2 Part Dark Turquoise {32064 Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Axle Hole to 32064c Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Axle Hole and Inside Side Supports}

Comments from Submitter:
I'm opting for full replacement here because of growing evidence that this was the original variant of the piece. 32064 probably didn't appear until after 32064b did which was several years after this set.
