That could be good news for Bricklink stores other than those that source inventory

It's a very good question.
Always keep parts, including minifig parts, unassembled for the short or longterm,
collection or resell. The only exception is the displaying of a collection.
Be aware of the several "minifigure" clutch design considerations for aging ABS:
the headgear to the head (precarious in design), the head opening to the torso
stem, the unique torso clutch design for the leg assembly, the unique clutch
design for the legs to the hips. To go on, the unique clutch design of the hands
and arms... you get the picture

| One thing I've always found odd is that you can buy a plain pair of legs
on PAB for 36p but on BAP many of those same colours are around 58p so things
like that need leveling up for sure as it doesn't look good on Lego from
a customer perspective to be charged differently based on how they shop so they
are doing the right thing in that regards
In truth much of their pricing structure needs reviewing anyway as far as I can
see as some of it just doesn't make sense. I mean why are plain medium black
legs 3 times the price of standard black legs? (Similar design yet dont even
require as much plastic!)
I do accept that it makes sense that the pricing of a part should be influenced
by the number of sets the production run is catering for. A single part manufactured
for only one set is obviously not as efficient use of resources compared with
a production run of a part that is being used multiple times in lots of different
sets but those black medium legs are used a lot of times over now!
I would of thought pricing should be based on other factors too including cost
of molds, complexity of part, volume of materials/processes required to make
said part and potentially a difference in the cost of producing certain colours
though Lego have pretty much already said that they plan to make the price of
colours consistent?
Either way it sometimes feels like they just pull a price out of a hat as there
are certainly a lot of anomalies between the cost of similar parts where the
factors I've mentioned don't always seem to have any baring on pricing
structure at all

Are you thinking that they will adjust their official prices based on the selling
prices here? I doubt that will happen, as they have said that they will have
consistent prices for the same part in different colours, whereas that doesn't
happen on BL.

|
I don't think they will work like that, trying to undercut the secondary
market. Their primary goal is to sell sets, not parts. They tend to fix their
part prices on PAB/BandP and rarely change them, I cannot see them changing them
every week monitoring sales here. There are some parts in some colours that tend
to be very cheap here because they are not wanted but expensive there because
of the manufacturing price. They have also said they aim for price consistency
across the same part, so they cannot price match the price of all colours.

| | Agreed to a certain extent but not in shipping times (Unless they alter that
as well)- If we have access to the items on PAB walls then they will also have
a hard time competing with BL Price. For example look at 2 x 4 bricks. You can
get 110 in a large cup. Over here that is 10p each roughly. Find a 2 x 4 on TLG
PAB or B&P at that price. So it may well just be swings and roundabouts but BL
delivery will always be better.
|
If you are buying for yourself and you stack them, you can get 165+ 2x4 bricks
in a large cup. But of course it is the online PAB price that matters - LEGO
charges 19p a brick and I doubt that will change, so substantially more than
at the PAB wall and here.
What might happen though is that parts that are common in one colour but rare
in another are affected. If they bring out, for example the masonry brick in
a new colour in just one set (like they did reddish brown in Home Alone) then
that will be priced consistently across colours at LEGO online (currently 13p)
and that will essentially set the maximum price of the 'rare' colour
here. Assuming, that is, that they stock the brick in that colour.

Obviously you mean online as there will not be a limit if bought through a Lego

There are ways of going over the 200 limit on line. We have done that on a number

What has been the most expensive nonproduction part that you have seen sold?
5 years ago I sold a pair of red clone trooper helmets for $400 each. The same
buyer now wants to buy a dark gray snowtrooper helmet and a red rebel helmet.
They're the only copies I have and I got from a friend in Denmark many years
ago, so I don't know what they are worth. If there's any anecdotes on
these high-end nonproduction parts it may help me make a decision on whether
to sell or not.

that I can find out how many sealed bags and/or loose pieces came in the box
and what the numbers of the bags are?
.
As an aside, should all sealed bags in a Lego set have the same year printed
on them? IE: 2015 The Lego Group
Thanks in advance for any help!

Sounds like someone switched a red torso for a black one. The vest part can easily

Oh, yes! I've had about 8-9 shipments over the years where the outer box
was fine and the set box looked like it was drop kicked or stomped. In the
beginning, I used to say oh well, luck of the draw. Not any more. With the high
price of some of these sets, I expect a decent box. As others suggest, call lego,
explain the damage of contents and that you'd like a replacement. They always
handled it well. It doesn't always work out to do this at the holiday though,
especially if it's a gift, with most sets selling out very quickly.

Every time I received something like that from Lego, a telephone call to the

| You probably have newer parts of the 1X1 plate with clip piece. In your picture,
the ones with the green check mark are both older versions of that part, and
since their clips are thinner, they fit into the headlight bricks better.
and
are the ones you want. They're specific variants, so generally sellers who

Not that bad.
I think two things are happening:
1. we want to make things too perfect: little holes here and there are not that
bad!
2. “you’re holding it wrong” / going at it backward. The corner should be built
first. It should be easier to adapt the sides to an abritrary corner than trying
to build a corner on an arbitrary side.

Thanks for the response. I actually tried that, the two issues I had were 1.
The pitch in which the roof is angled and the size of the gap make it where that
piece doesn’t fit. 2. I had a hell of a time trying to even get that piece attached,
I tried using a the ball and clip but again the pitch of the roof made it difficult.
Again, thank you for your response. Much appreciated!!

Are there bots that snag these new parts as soon as they are listed? It's

They use a mixture of out of stock, sold out and missing items. There rarely
seems any logic to it.

| Just curious to know if anyone has figured out how/when Lego introduces new pieces
to its bricks and pieces catalog. Brickset just uploaded the newly released pieces,
but all are sold out on B&P.
If I'm remembering correctly, Lego used to list unavailable pieces as $0.00
and pieces that were actually sold out would have an actual price but be marked
as sold out... All new pieces have a price, and are marked as sold out.
Are there bots that snag these new parts as soon as they are listed? It's
always super frustrating trying to buy new parts off of B&P.

No, but I have definite issues with older blue pieces and even some older green.
I had a Duplo green baseplate that was so brittle it practically fell apart (one
I bought from someone on bricklink). I had some supposedly new blue duplo 2x8
plates crack as they were separated from each other (one of my first bricklink
orders where I didn't want to leave negative feedback).

Reddish Brown and Dark Red were/are notorious for being unbelievably brittle.
I believe LEGO corrected this issue around 2018, so you'll find that some
of their older parts are typically more fragile. Plates from pre-2018 might as
well be a one-time use part.

| Hey David,
Thanks for the response.

| That's a know quality issue.
Many tires from the end of 90s to the early 2000s are oily and sometimes sticky.
No matter if there were used or not.

You found the Achilles heel in building LEGO houses: these kinds of angles are
near impossible to build.
If you go for best looks, you might want to use
and cut up the corner tiles. Since that approach would be a no-go for many:
You could approximate the angle by covered with but you won't
end up at the exact angle due to the slopes of your roof. You would need to cover
the corners by or even some lesser known part as
You might get lucky building SNOT, with e.g.
Or you might switch to a different roof style using

Unfortunately you will juts need to wait until someone parts out and inventories
the set.
Waiting for volunteers to upload inventories on a site actually owned by LEGO
seems a little daft.

I am not sure that they do - I ordered the Castle in the Forest, and I live in
the US, but I have received no email about a shipping delay. 😕

That's quite poor then. I hate it when companies expect you to follow them
on twitter to get generic order updates.

The expected delivery wasn't said to be at the start of 2022 or February
2022?
Maybe even the sets were ready at EU, shipping to end costumers would have been
better to wait until the sea shipping containers were unloaded on the US and
ship all sets at the same time.

| Has anybody received their Designer Programme Kakapo 910017 yet?
Mine arrived yesterday, and it was a really enjoyable build. Instructions are
download-only, but I have no complaints there. There are quite a few spare pieces
in the set (I counted 74), mostly 1x1 plates, so there's plenty of scope
to customise the model's plumage.
One oddity I noticed is that the wings are slightly asymmetrical: there's
a 3x2 plate missing from the underside of the RH wing. It's virtually invisible,
but I just thought it peculiar as the rest of the bird is completely symmetrical.
Other Kakapo owners, I hope you're enjoying the set. Let us know what you
think.

You don’t like repeated redundant pleonasms?

Pleonasms are "redundant" and repetitive by definition, making your accusatory
question ironically pleonastic in nature.
Or was that the point of your emoticon?

Another option is a program called Lego Digital Designer. You can build using
every brick available and depending on the version you can even place an order
for the parts used when your done.
|
LDD has not had a part update for years. And the ordering bit was removed almost
a decade ago.
Why not use BrickLink Studio?
