Hmmmm

That could be good news for Bricklink stores other than those that source inventory
from PAB walls of course!

  Hello,

I'm still around making truck designs. I actually just finished a super
rad Concrete Mixer Truck design. Definitely worth checking out. I've shared
a link to my gallery if anyone is interested.

As always, post your own links to your trucks and I would love to see them and

Keep Hauling!

wow these are great. I'm a big fan of vehicles, sadly I'm not creative

It's a very good question.

Always keep parts, including minifig parts, unassembled for the short or longterm,
collection or resell. The only exception is the displaying of a collection.

Be aware of the several "minifigure" clutch design considerations for aging ABS:
the headgear to the head (precarious in design), the head opening to the torso
stem, the unique torso clutch design for the leg assembly, the unique clutch
design for the legs to the hips. To go on, the unique clutch design of the hands
and arms... you get the picture

One thing I've always found odd is that you can buy a plain pair of legs
on PAB for 36p but on BAP many of those same colours are around 58p so things
like that need leveling up for sure as it doesn't look good on Lego from
a customer perspective to be charged differently based on how they shop so they
are doing the right thing in that regards

In truth much of their pricing structure needs reviewing anyway as far as I can
see as some of it just doesn't make sense. I mean why are plain medium black
legs 3 times the price of standard black legs? (Similar design yet dont even
require as much plastic!)

I do accept that it makes sense that the pricing of a part should be influenced
by the number of sets the production run is catering for. A single part manufactured
for only one set is obviously not as efficient use of resources compared with
a production run of a part that is being used multiple times in lots of different
sets but those black medium legs are used a lot of times over now!

I would of thought pricing should be based on other factors too including cost
of molds, complexity of part, volume of materials/processes required to make
said part and potentially a difference in the cost of producing certain colours
though Lego have pretty much already said that they plan to make the price of
colours consistent?

Either way it sometimes feels like they just pull a price out of a hat as there
are certainly a lot of anomalies between the cost of similar parts where the
factors I've mentioned don't always seem to have any baring on pricing
structure at all

With BL's data, it will be easier to adjust prices and quantities to the
market and, most importantly, they will be unbeatable for us in terms of shipping
costs.

Are you thinking that they will adjust their official prices based on the selling
prices here? I doubt that will happen, as they have said that they will have
consistent prices for the same part in different colours, whereas that doesn't
happen on BL.

Gave you an example of the above 1 x 2 plates most of them go for less that
lego atm... This will 1 they will target I am picking... A week or so will
tell after they do the change to USA and Canada to see what they do with pricing....

I don't think they will work like that, trying to undercut the secondary
market. Their primary goal is to sell sets, not parts. They tend to fix their
part prices on PAB/BandP and rarely change them, I cannot see them changing them
every week monitoring sales here. There are some parts in some colours that tend
to be very cheap here because they are not wanted but expensive there because
of the manufacturing price. They have also said they aim for price consistency
across the same part, so they cannot price match the price of all colours.

Agreed to a certain extent but not in shipping times (Unless they alter that
as well)- If we have access to the items on PAB walls then they will also have
a hard time competing with BL Price. For example look at 2 x 4 bricks. You can
get 110 in a large cup. Over here that is 10p each roughly. Find a 2 x 4 on TLG
PAB or B&P at that price. So it may well just be swings and roundabouts but BL
delivery will always be better.

If you are buying for yourself and you stack them, you can get 165+ 2x4 bricks
in a large cup. But of course it is the online PAB price that matters - LEGO
charges 19p a brick and I doubt that will change, so substantially more than
at the PAB wall and here.

What might happen though is that parts that are common in one colour but rare
in another are affected. If they bring out, for example the masonry brick in
a new colour in just one set (like they did reddish brown in Home Alone) then
that will be priced consistently across colours at LEGO online (currently 13p)
and that will essentially set the maximum price of the 'rare' colour
here. Assuming, that is, that they stock the brick in that colour.

Another issue concerns the current limitation to 200 of each part that you order
from B&P. That limit is not in PAB. So what will be the new limit?

No doubt they will say when the service goes live. And maybe they will fix the
workarounds that allow you to order more than whatever limits they set in a single
order.

Obviously you mean online as there will not be a limit if bought through a Lego
retail store.

There are ways of going over the 200 limit on line. We have done that on a number
of occasions

Hi all,
What has been the most expensive nonproduction part that you have seen sold?
5 years ago I sold a pair of red clone trooper helmets for $400 each. The same
buyer now wants to buy a dark gray snowtrooper helmet and a red rebel helmet.
They're the only copies I have and I got from a friend in Denmark many years
ago, so I don't know what they are worth. If there's any anecdotes on
these high-end nonproduction parts it may help me make a decision on whether
to sell or not.

Lego is a confusioningly expensive product.

Only on high demand and low supply items.

There are 1000s of LEGO parts of similar size that can be had for under 10c.

What site did you buy the Lego Bulk?

Looking for a site to buy truly random mixture of bricks and figures. Instead

The pieces in the bag all go to this set. Later in a second box from this collection

Looks like 14 bags.

https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/product.bi.core.pdf/6164663.pdf

The bags are numbered to 14 but there are actually 42 bags in total as some of
the numbers have multiple!
Sadly, there were only 14 total sealed bags in this collection.

Oh I see, I misunderstood your question.

They need to have stronger limits per account for B&P, especially for new items.

In LEGO, Fragty writes:
I can't answer all your questions, but I believe they upload the set inventories
the moment they become available for purchase to the public.
It is so that customers who have broken/missing pieces in those sets can get
them through the customer service on the site.

When the parts will be in stock to order on B&P, I do not know. That could take
weeks, maybe even months.

And you are probably right about the bots, that makes most sense. Or else some
very dedicated fella did upload almost 1000 new parts to brickset today

I have a "version" with vest chevrons pointing up, a red helmet, a BLACK TORSO

Is this a variation of pln056 or a different figure . . .

Thanks for any and all help!

Sounds like someone switched a red torso for a black one. The vest part can easily
be taken off and put on another torso.

Thanks, but that must have been done at the factory(?) because is from a kit
that I had as a kid in the late `70s . . .

Was it sealed until today? Or do you remember everything you did with it as a
kid 40+ years ago and know for sure nobody else could have done it when you weren't
looking?

No, but I have definite issues with older blue pieces and even some older green.
I had a Duplo green baseplate that was so brittle it practically fell apart (one
I bought from someone on bricklink). I had some supposedly new blue duplo 2x8
plates crack as they were separated from each other (one of my first bricklink
orders where I didn't want to leave negative feedback).

I have collected lego for over 30 years. I definitely find these colors degrade
faster. In fact just snapped another 2 by 8 brown plate yesterday. I do find
the white bricks that 20 plus years are very brittle but that being said they
are old and are not indestructible.

+1. I snapped a brown 2x10 plate last week

Been disassembling a number or sets recently to redo some rooms in my house
and ran into a number of problems with

Set No: 79003 Name: An Unexpected Gathering
*
79003-1 (Inv) An Unexpected Gathering
623 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2012
Sets: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: The Hobbit
. Jumpers and plates were
a disaster during this break down.

Haven't opened mine yet. Broken plates when I finally assemble it.

Oh, yes! I've had about 8-9 shipments over the years where the outer box
was fine and the set box looked like it was drop kicked or stomped. In the
beginning, I used to say oh well, luck of the draw. Not any more. With the high
price of some of these sets, I expect a decent box. As others suggest, call lego,
explain the damage of contents and that you'd like a replacement. They always
handled it well. It doesn't always work out to do this at the holiday though,
especially if it's a gift, with most sets selling out very quickly.

True, thought the same after I've posted my message (at least the inventoried

Yes, I've had it before. Perfect shipping box but completely trashed box.
Complain and tell them you want it replaced or refunded.

Every time I received something like that from Lego, a telephone call to the
help number resulted in a return and a new set sent out. They've always
been very nice in my experience.

Could probably call LEGO, and they would probably make it right

I’ve gotten some pretty damaged boxes from LEGO directly even when the shipping
box is in decent condition.

Anybody else ever received a crushed set from a Lego.com order? This is the
first time from a Lego order something like this has happened to me. The delivery
box was in normal condition, so when the set was packed it was already crushed.
The entire box is crushed and even the end of the box is ripped off. Maybe
someone wasn't feeling so awesome at the Lego factory that day? I was going
to give the set as a gift, but I think I'll order a new one and just keep
this set myself to assemble.

You probably have newer parts of the 1X1 plate with clip piece. In your picture,
the ones with the green check mark are both older versions of that part, and
since their clips are thinner, they fit into the headlight bricks better.

Not that bad.

I think two things are happening:

1. we want to make things too perfect: little holes here and there are not that
bad!

2. “you’re holding it wrong” / going at it backward.  The corner should be built
first.  It should be easier to adapt the sides to an abritrary corner than trying
to build a corner on an arbitrary side.

I tried using a the ball and clip but again the pitch of the roof made it difficult.
Again, thank you for your response. Much appreciated!!

If I'm remembering correctly, Lego used to list unavailable pieces as $0.00
and pieces that were actually sold out would have an actual price but be marked
as sold out... All new pieces have a price, and are marked as sold out.

Are there bots that snag these new parts as soon as they are listed? It's
always super frustrating trying to buy new parts off of B&P.

They use a mixture of out of stock, sold out and missing items. There rarely
seems any logic to it.

Reddish Brown and Dark Red were/are notorious for being unbelievably brittle.
I believe LEGO corrected this issue around 2018, so you'll find that some
of their older parts are typically more fragile. Plates from pre-2018 might as
well be a one-time use part.

That's a know quality issue.

Many tires from the end of 90s to the early 2000s are oily and sometimes sticky.
No matter if there were used or not.

You found the Achilles heel in building LEGO houses: these kinds of angles are
near impossible to build.

If you go for best looks, you might want to use

Set No: col13 Name: Carpenter, Series 13 (Complete Set with Stand and Accessories)
*
col13-9 (Inv) Carpenter, Series 13 (Complete Set with Stand and Accessories)
3 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2015
Sets: Collectible Minifigures: Series 13 Minifigures
and cut up the corner tiles. Since that approach would be a no-go for many:

You could approximate the angle by

Part No: 30504 Name: Wedge, Plate 8 x 8 Cut Corner
*
30504 Wedge, Plate 8 x 8 Cut Corner
Parts: Wedge, Plate
covered with

Part No: 35787 Name: Tile, Modified 2 x 2 Triangular
*
35787 Tile, Modified 2 x 2 Triangular
Parts: Tile, Modified
but you won't
end up at the exact angle due to the slopes of your roof. You would need to cover
the corners by

Part No: 4162 Name: Tile 1 x 8
*
4162 Tile 1 x 8
Parts: Tile
or even some lesser known part as

Part No: 30258 Name: Road Sign 2 x 2 Square with Clip
*
30258 Road Sign 2 x 2 Square with Clip
Parts: Road Sign

You might get lucky building SNOT, with e.g.

Part No: 60481 Name: Slope 65 2 x 1 x 2
*
60481 Slope 65 2 x 1 x 2
Parts: Slope

Or you might switch to a different roof style using

Part No: 3675 Name: Slope 33 3 x 3 Double Convex Corner
*
3675 Slope 33 3 x 3 Double Convex Corner
Parts: Slope

Enjoy building and exploring!

Waiting for volunteers to upload inventories on a site actually owned by LEGO

I am not sure that they do - I ordered the Castle in the Forest, and I live in
the US, but I have received no email about a shipping delay. 😕

That's quite poor then. I hate it when companies expect you to follow them
on twitter to get generic order updates.

The expected delivery wasn't said to be at the start of 2022 or February
2022?

Maybe even the sets were ready at EU, shipping to end costumers would have been
better to wait until the sea shipping containers were unloaded on the US and
ship all sets at the same time.

Has anybody received their Designer Programme Kakapo 910017 yet?

Mine arrived yesterday, and it was a really enjoyable build. Instructions are
download-only, but I have no complaints there. There are quite a few spare pieces
in the set (I counted 74), mostly 1x1 plates, so there's plenty of scope
to customise the model's plumage.

One oddity I noticed is that the wings are slightly asymmetrical: there's
a 3x2 plate missing from the underside of the RH wing. It's virtually invisible,
but I just thought it peculiar as the rest of the bird is completely symmetrical.

Other Kakapo owners, I hope you're enjoying the set. Let us know what you
think.

First - MOC means My Own Creation, just a pet peeve.

You don’t like repeated redundant pleonasms?

Pleonasms are "redundant" and repetitive by definition, making your accusatory
question ironically pleonastic in nature.

Or was that the point of your emoticon?

  […]
Another option is a program called Lego Digital Designer. You can build using
every brick available and depending on the version you can even place an order
for the parts used when your done.

LDD has not had a part update for years.  And the ordering bit was removed almost
a decade ago.

Why not use BrickLink Studio?
