| My grandfather left a large collection of Modulex Bricks and Tiles. Is there
a demand for Modulex bricks? Is it worth the effort to record the stock and sell
it via Bricklink? Some bricks are not listed on Bricklink and many are still
sealed in their original packaging.

Depends on what you have and how much time you are willing to invest....

I'm in the same situation as Calle_P and I wonder what you mean Maxx. I have
a couple of thousand pieces of the first Modulex (Lego, pat. pend) and my wife
has sorted them by size, colour, etc. and number of course. I want to sell all
of it to the best price possible. Does it mean that selling them "piece by piece"
will yield the best price?

I think it is pretty high but I am not too familiar with that system. Certainly
from what I have seen in groups suggests there is demand.

I may just not be able to do it, but what I wanted to do was added Modulex colors

Can you not attach the 1x1 M bricks into a clip? They wouldn't be upright
but at least they'd be attached.
|
They couldn't stand side by side because the clip is going to hold it crooked.

Reason for asking is that I found an official Modulex box marked 1384 and filled
with 12x cupboards, but of size 2 x 4 x 4 and also guled except the top tile
is NOT glued. I don't believe this one is in the catalogue...
Also the current picture of the Mx1384, seems to be a picture of a box and not

Maybe one of the modulex experts here knows how many colours this brick have?
I have 14 colours and I know that I'm missing at list 4: mx medium blue,
mx violet, mx pink-red & mx light bluish grey.
Is there more colours I'm not aware of?

| Need a little help, I've got a 48x48 baseplate that I have just started to
fill with my 2x4 brick collection for a display I'm making. I've got
a load of Modulex 2x4 bricks I want to add to it but I know that Modulex and
standard Lego aren't really compatible. Anyone have any ideas how I could
connect the Modulex bricks to the baseplate so it looks okay, I guess I could
resort to finding a Modulex plate and gluing it on but I really don't want
to permanently stick anything together, prefer the power of clutch.
Thanks,

There are 16 Modulex bricks with LEGO logo. You are missing one.

According to the Priceguide (last 6 months) you have them all, 15. But who knows
what is out there, as test bricks perhaps?

| Very commonly used for showing prices in say a hotdog stand back in the 80's
(in fact my local one still do that!) so I'm positive that the baseplates
where just cut down to whatever size needed
I fondly remember my grandma's workplace, they had a HUGE Modulex board with
loads of colours etc, used for meetings, scheduling etc. When I used to visit
her I always tried to sneak into that room and play with "little LEGOs" .. which
would completely mess up eveything for the company!
TLG did not (still don't?) make baseplates back then, another company in
Billund(?) did that. They probably also handled the Modulex plates
Now, why there's a plethora of 8x8 I have no idea about
Cheers,
Ole

| Many early LEGO Base plates appear to be cut to size. Given the many Modulex
letters avialible they might be used as door tags or name tags with changeble
letters. I've also seen huge planing boards with those letters based on modulex.
However I have never actually seen architectual use of Modulex bricks but I can't
see any use for an 8 x 8 square for this use in particular.

They seem to be so common in different lots that I would be surprised if they
were all custom made from larger baseplates by the users.
Does anyone know:
- If these were actually made by Modulex?
- How these were used?

They could be from the Planning board era, but I am not certain about that.
