|
| I just noticed, that in the last few years part 2429c01 [Hinge Plate 1 x 4 Swivel
(2429 / 2430)] was redesigned. The differences between the old and new versions
are visible from bottom view (pin holding together the two parts), and the thickness
of the half hinges are also modified. In the old version both halves are half-plate
thick, in the newer version the top part is thinner and the bottom is thicker.
These changes usually does not affect functionality, until 'someone'
tries to combine two different halves (for example to make a cool infinity folding
cube, see the picture). If the top part is newer, the hinge will work quite well
(with some slack – notice the gap). But in case of newer bottom part, the complete
hinge will thicker, than a plate. It can not be used that way, that is why I
think it would be important to sign the difference between the two versions with
different catalog entries.

Pending requests remove this undetermined variant from the last 2 inventories.
Please mark her for deletion.
If appropriate, consider removing the inventory and marking it "Cannot be
inventoried". There are a whole bunch of them for sale, but I would like
it to disappear from the list of items containing undetermined parts.

| | We would only split this catalog entry if the connection point you are talking
about is used as a legal building method in at least one official LEGO set. Unfortunately,
the catalog team does not have the time to look through all of the sets that
use this part. Therefore, if you can find an official set that uses this building
technique with part 2339, please let us know, otherwise the catalog entry will
remain as it is.
|
It probably hasn't been used in that way in a set. But it is a common technique
in MOCs for both covering up the gaps and making arches look a bit more realistic,
appearing to be made from stones.

impossible to fix a stud inside the arch because the gap is to large.
So 14395 is a mold variant that need is own entry I think.
I don't know how to do that because it's now impossible to create a new

is indeed an undetermined (umbrella) entry, but so far considered by most as
the variant without extended lip and without glass and used in set inventories
as such. Therefore I replaced the red image with an archived render, to fit the
images in the other colors.
Thanks,

PS I still have the intention to fix all the windows / doors from this serie,
but it's a huge project and will take a lot of time.
