Yes. There are no legitimate cases for sellers to ever mark an order as completed.

Then is this functionality enabled? I have posted this question many times on
the forum and no one has posted an answer. So, here we go again:

If a seller should "never" mark an order as complete, then why does BL
allow it?

Even if the buyer says they got their order and are happy it still is no reason
then up to the seller to mark it as complete. Those orders would then just fall
into the same category as the other ~50% of orders that would be in the exact
same circumstance aside for the message. And on the flip side letting the seller
mark it as complete can make things much more difficult for buyers.

But a seller *is* allowed to mark an order as complete. Why is it allowed if
it's so terrible?

  Just like
a buyer can’t change the order status from paid to shipped the seller should
not be allowed to change it from shipped to completed.

I really don't see the big deal. Every order has a buyer and a seller, and
if the seller feels the order is complete they have the ability to mark it as
complete. The buyer can always change it back.

Ideally there would be two types of Complete in the pulldown, one for "Seller
- Complete" and the other "Buyer - Complete".

I’m having a hard time with this, as I’ve been trying to buy some specific parts
missing from some sets and 2 times now, I’ve ordered specific parts, added on
a few others to meet the minimum buy for the seller and the seller sends me a
message AFTER shipping that they don’t have or can’t find the parts I actually
needed and still shipped the package. They provide a refund for the missing
parts, but those were the only reason I was buying in the first place.

Refuse delivery of the package so it goes back to the seller. After this happens
One or 2 time the seller learns not to engage in this cruddy business practice.

Maybe I missed a policy change, but chargebacks have always been allowed. Even
so, they are very rare. I can only recall getting one chargeback for a low-dollar
non-Lego item on another platform, and the buyer was clearly unhinged.

You account is a little over a year old. You left 25 feedbacks as a buyer so

Are your standards unrealistic or do you have the worst luck of all the Lego

If it were me I would buy the parts on BL and have them sent directly to the

Yes. I bought several of these new. To save space, I took the sealed baggies
out of the boxes and put them into a zip lock bag. Several years ago I started
going through my stored collection and found the zip lock bag. I took photos
of the sealed baggies before I opened them and listed the pieces for sale. The
193b2 helmets I have for sale in my shop came from these sets. I do know that
I did not buy these when the set was first released, so maybe the helmet was
changed in subsequent production runs.

Apologies for the delay. I spent some time over the weekend trying to find the
photos I took back then but came up empty.

I think my post was vague. I've had quotes enable in my shop since the beginning.

My own conversion rate is about 1/3, mostly because international buyers are

If a seller offers the Quote button then they presumably have to respond, but
otherwise (such as contacting them via BL messaging) there is no responsibility

A seller does not have to respond. If they do, the quote is good for 3 days.

All too many sellers offer no clear pricing for shipping, and I'm not about
to get snookered into paying 30%+ for shipping. In addition, most sellers don't
have a Quote option. This seems quite anti-consumer.

This is because most quotes don't result in a sale, which is a waste of the
seller's time.

You violated no rules. The seller doesn't want to deal with your questions
and chose to be rude about it. However, many sellers aren't going to pull
inventory and check for ~ $3 of parts.

You can use the Advanced Search Tool (see attached photo):

Which after they delete will be incorrect. So Lego are contributing to incorrect

They could move the listings to the stock room. Everything is retained, seller
can fix the issue(s) and relisting is easy.

I'm still puzzled by all this. It sounds like the guidelines are more discretionary
than anything else. If a set has no exclusive parts, it sounds like you'd
be less likely to be reported and removed. But if you never mention it was "BrickLinked"
to begin with, nobody would ever know.

Therefore, if a seller doesn't self-snitch and "BrickLinks" a set
together and sells it, nobody would be the wiser?

You catch on fast

I would feel much better saying to potential buyers that something was parted
together and have a chance of it being removed than say nothing. But what about
sellers who don't care? They wouldn't get punished while a seller trying
to be as upfront as possible would.

Focusing on what you're doing in your store and not worrying about what other
sellers *might* be doing is the key to long-term success around here. A seller
could easily sell a "BrickLinked" set on other platforms anyway.

I'm guessing you are mostly buying from sellers with no lot limits who will
pick a $20 order with 60 lots.

These sellers aren't usually going to be professional, because they don't
know how to value their time. Not valuing their time correctly leads to other
problems, like a messy disorganized inventory, a delay in getting orders out,
incorrect variations and colors etc.

60 lots is no big deal if you're organized. ~ 4 lots per minute = 15 minutes
+ packing up the order. Say 20 minutes in total. $20 for 20 minutes or $60/hour
isn't bad for low value parts.

How many mistakes in an order do you all tolerate before contacting a seller?

In this case, I probably will not say anything, because only 2 of 60 lots are
missing, they are not minifigures, and because I can get them from Lego.com for
$4 total. However, the decision is still annoying because one of the lots is
for right wedges to match left wedges that did get included.

I prefer being contacted, even if the buyer isn't looking for a replacement/refund.
It helps keep inventory accurate, especially if a buyer was sent too many of
something. For larger stores, they won't know there's a performance problem
with an employee unless buyers speak up.

  Notes:
-Yes, I have tried ordering fewer lots, but it seems you have to keep it under
20 lots in order to prevent most seller mistakes. Those smaller orders are usually
not cost effective for me after factoring in shipping costs.

I don't order often, but when I do it's a large order with many lots.
I think it depends on the store.

-If you receive an order containing a printout with a hand-written check mark
next to each lot, consider favoriting that seller. Those sellers are rare and
almost never make mistakes.

Yes! I always use a printed checklist.

It stated when I placed the order to give them 7 days to ship. Now when I went
back and looked before they closed there store to do orders they upped it to
14 days. So it has been 9 days with still sitting on paid.

So here where is I want your opinions would you file a NSS or still sit and wait
for 14 days even though they changed it since I have placed my order. It isn't
a big lot order or anything.

I would wait. The goal of filing an NSS is to spur action. Nothing will happen
here - you already know there is going to be a delay of a few more days.

He went to straight to a PayPal dispute without even talking to me first. Aside
from the fact that I wouldn't even know where to find a fake or how to manufacture
one, why would I start selling fakes of medium-value figs (from the new Dune
set--figures about which no other buyers have complained!), after more than
10 years of selling here?

This is the first time anyone has ever accused me of something like this, so
I wasn't even sure how to respond. I was willing to give him the benefit
of the doubt. I first asked him what it would take to prove the figs were authentic:
no response. I then aksed if he'd be willing to present his case here in
the forum: again, no response. The only thing of substance he ever said was
that the limbs were loose and the quality was poor.

Buyer might have become enraged after a half-assed google search resulted in
bad information. Lots of misleading information out there.

He wanted me to pay to ship the figs back, but I was advised by PayPal that he
should pay to ship them back (who even knows what I'd get back from someone
who is willing to make these kinds of claims). He didn't like this and escalated
the case.

He'll have to pay return shipping whether he likes it or not. Seems like
the buyer doesn't know how PayPal works, which is a good sign of this not
being a switcheroo scam.

Fortunately, I hadn't thrown out all of the set boxes after parting them
out, so I sent PayPal several high-res pictures of my LEGO store receipts (containing
set number and name), the boxes (to match the set number, name, and figs), a
note containing my name and the PayPal claim number, and a a screen shot of his
order.

Is there anything else I should consider doing? Is there anything else I can
do to protect myself?

Nice and thorough job on the PayPal response. Nothing else you can do except
waiting to see what the buyer sends back. Sometimes these claims disappear after
the buyer calms down and./or realizes they have to back up their "claim"
by paying for return shipping.

Some people advocate a video of you opening the return in case its a scam, but
PayPal historically hasn't accepted video as proof. Maybe they do now?

He has just over 100 feedback with one negative from an NPB, but his stubbornness
and out-of-the-blue accusation is both galling and suspicious. Perhaps he has
done this with other sellers and no feedback was ever left by either party?

You'll know for sure if and when you get the return.

Tell the buyer that you cannot respond to messages outside of the BL system if
you are emailed directly. I knew a buyer who had auto-replies sent from his Bricklink
email saying the email box was not monitored and to please reach out through
Bricklink. He did in fact monitor the email box and would respond if needed.

My own experiences with problem transactions is that the result would have been
the same whether I communicated inside BL or directly through email.

Not sure if this is related, but I received Wanted List Notification emails 2

Getting emails from Paypal for shipping labels so appears it is possibly a Bricklink

No more 100% positive feedback when landing to my store

You could contact the buyer and see id they'll reverse the feedback.

Failing that, you should reply to the buyer's feedback. I would reply in
English. You can also post your own feedback for the buyer. I see that the buyer
has zero feedback. If you leave a negative, the buyer's total feedback will
be minus 1 and the buyer won't be able to buy from any store with the "Disallow
members with negative feedback score to buy from my store" option enabled.

Many people, including adults, have been conditioned by Amazon to expect things
to be delivered immediately.

I got my first Neutral Feedback without any justification.
The buyer made the order at 17.2, I shipped it at 18.2 and he received it at
21.2
Although it took less then a week and although the Israeli PO is not under my
command (I wish it was!) the buyer gave me the following feedback:

Everything I asked for arrived, even the used one feels like new but the shipping
time takes quite a long time

I submitted Feedback Removal Request.

My questions are:
1. What to expect? The feedback will be cancel?
2. How long does it take normally?

Very much doubt the feedback will be cancelled. If it is not cancelled, you will
be stuck with it forever. This is another textbook case of why neutral feedback
should not be included in a store's feedback percentage.

The requirement states:

"Sticker sheets missing stickers must be listed as used."

To me that's vague enough to include re-applied peeled off stickers.

That’s talking about sticker sheets - so one would think the original sticker
sheet is included and some stickers are missing. It’s not talking about previously
applied stickers at all. It’s not vague, per say, just not addressing this issue.

If the intent is to allow only original sticker sheets with one or more missing
but otherwise unused stickers to be listed (as used) then the requirement should
say so. Otherwise I don't see an issue as long as there is an accurate description.

Also, what about high quality stickers that were applied to the wrong part?

What about high quality parts that are broken… i throw them out personally -
because i wouldn't be happy to receive it.

The part in your example is unusable. The sticker is not.

Currently, if Store A has 90 positives and 10 neutrals and Store B has 90 positives
and 10 negatives, the feedback percentage is the same for both. This is misleading.

What is misleading about it? They both have 10 non positive feedback out of 100,
so there is the warning from the percentage praise that the buyer should check
the feedback.

It is misleading because the neutrals are treated the same as the negatives and
they are not the same.

As mentioned before, it really comes down to what the percentage praise is for.
In my view, it is there to give a potential buyer a quick impression of how much
of the feedback is not positive and not as an ego rating.

Under the "neutrals shouldn't count" view, all these stores would
have 100 feedback at 100%. If a buyer buys from a store with 100% feedback they
would probably assume that there is no need to check the feedback as it is 100%.

Bad assumption. A buyer should always check the feedback page.

  I'd prefer no percentage rating
at all, rather than a dodgy calculation that shows 100% in such circumstances.

The calculation is dodgy now.

At least with no percentage, there is no false impression that the store doesn't
have issues when in some cases there might be.

The current calculation gives a false impression that performance is worse than
it is.

Obviously some sellers are unhappy because they think their store is damaged
by an unwarranted neutral feedback, but I really don't think that is the
case. The percentage praise is essentially a quick reminder to check feedback,
not necessarily to leave the store. And to me, it is better to have an effective
warning system for buyers to use when looking at a store rather than an ego protection
system for sellers. That is, I see neutrals as not good service rather than seeing
them as not terrible service.

All well and good, but you cannot treat a neutral as a stand in for a negative,
which is what is being done now. Go ahead buyer, leave neutral feedback because
the transaction didn't warrant a negative, but we're going to tally it
up as a negative anyway.

OK, I see that sticker sheets can be sold if incomplete as used: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102

I don't think selling stickers peeled off lego parts and sold as incomplete
sticker sheets should be a thing. To me, it seems misleading. They should be
listed on the parts they were found on as stickered parts. If that part isn't
in the catalog, add it. This is a lazy loophole that should be fixed.

Since LEGO stickers are not intended to be removed (they are not marketed as
reusable as far as I know), why can they be listed after removal from a part?
Doesn't make sense to me. I suppose you can list broken lego parts if they
are clearly marked that way, and maybe that's the justification, but why?

A sticker sheet is a physical thing. If the original sticker sheet from lego
is absent, then can a few peeled off stickers from that sticker sheet still be
called a sticker sheet? I don't believe expectations are being met by listing
peeled off stickers as used sticker sheets.

Please tell me why i'm wrong.

The requirement states:

"Sticker sheets missing stickers must be listed as used."

To me that's vague enough to include re-applied peeled off stickers.

edk makes a good point:

"Carefully removed, adhesive stayed with the stickers, placed them on a waxy
backer
sheet, scanned an image and listed as used. I do not see a problem with this
method."

Also, what about high quality stickers that were applied to the wrong part?

Also, neutral feedbacks dinging the feedback percentage also needs to be
done away with. A neutral shouldn't count for or against a store's feedback
percentage.

Again, that would be fine but they also then need to change what the percentage
is called and probably also decide what the current percentage praise is being
shown for.

Right now it's called "Praise", an odd description even under the
current system.

Neutral is not praise, but it is still feedback. The percentage praise acts (or
should act) as a warning to buyers to check feedback if it is not 100%. For example,
if a store has 90 positive and 10 neutrals, I think that it should be flagged
up to buyers that the seller is probably not as good as a second store with 90
positives and no neutrals. Both stores would have an overall score of 90 and
if neutrals are ignored when determining the percentage praise, then they would
both have a 100% rating. However, there is a clear difference between the stores.
Should buyers be warned to check feedback in such circumstances, or should it
be hidden in the way the rating is calculated, pretending that both stores have
the same customer feedback.

Currently, if Store A has 90 positives and 10 neutrals and Store B has 90 positives
and 10 negatives, the feedback percentage is the same for both. This is misleading.

I also think it is important to remember that an imperfect score of less than
100% does not mean that buyers cannot or will not buy from a particular seller,
but the percentage praise is there to suggest to buyers that they check the feedback
if the feedback is not all positive. They can then judge whether it is important
to them.

Adding something like "Click to see feedback" under the feedback percentage
is sorely needed. I discovered the click-through accidentally. You are then shown
all feedback sorted by type and nothing is hidden.

Sliding window where *all* feeeback older than the window falls off. Ebay does
this. Also, neutral feedbacks dinging the feedback percentage also needs to be
done away with. A neutral shouldn't count for or against a store's feedback
percentage.

There should be room for redemption.

Absolutely. Even eBay, a platform openly hostile to sellers, lets feedback fall
off after a year.

Unfortunately, unless you get the buyer to rescind the feedback you will be stuck
with it forever. There are sellers here with neutral feedback from 15 years ago
that is still counted in the store feedback percentage. This has been brought
up countless times and nothing changes.

Your stores feedback percentage is not affected by feedback received as a buyer.
The 100% will stay there even if you get a negative feedback as a buyer.

I do as well, and it is compounded by BL's response time or lack of a response.
