NO tricks Just Bricks!

Did you put al of you shipping methods in the same group?
Only the cheapest option of a group is shown.

Select group ‘none’ and al the options meeting dimension and weight requirements
should show.

We prefer to use paypal but it isn't working for the onsite payment the EU
customer says when they push the button that error comes up. So after several
attempts he just sent payment to our paypal, when we contacted BL to get this
set to paid and find out how the VAT that was deducted is handled they didn't
address the issue that we tried for a week adjusting settings. So currently we
have a EU order that we cant mark paid, we can't mark shipped sitting in
our order list. They said to refund the customer but now they still can't
pay onsite. Paypal says all is okay on their end.

Ah, then that would be the major problem: you aren’t allowed to be paid offsite
when BL has to collect taxes (be it because you asked the buyer or because the
buyer took it upon themselves to pay that way).

You aren’t registered with the EU to collect EU VAT.  BL is the one that’s registered
and that has to collect the VAT, not you.

When you do that, you’re committing tax fraud: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1401495

The only way is to refund and go through Onsite.

That being said, it seems the Help Desk just focused on that first part (offsite
payment) and didn’t look into why there’s an error when the buyer tries to pay.

I’d try contacting them again _but only for that problem_.  Don’t talk about
offsite or finding another way to pay or making an exception focus on the error
message. Otherwise they may again be stuck on it.

Also, maybe there’s still a problem with PayPal: I think some have reported problems
here when a buyer was trying to use some PayPal options, like “PayPal credit”
or something like that (sorry, I’m not a PayPal specialist).

  Hi,

We are in South Africa and decided to open up to EU. We are having an issue with
EU customers paying onsite. They keep getting an error. We accepted Euro as payment,
our Paypal has been linked for two years.

Hi,

From what I can see in your terms, it seems to be properly set (I don’t think
there’s anything else to do than have Onsite and associate it to a shipping method).

We contacted BL customer service which they admonished us for trying to avoid
fees which we are absolutely not doing we appreciate the service BL provides
and have no problem paying our dues. What we needed was help, so our EU customers
could pay onsite, because of VAT being deducted for orders under 150 Euros. We
still have no assistance and no solution.

Maybe there was a misunderstanding… or are you asking your buyers to pay offsite?

Did you give Help Desk the error message & reference number?

Have you tried contacting PayPal?  (I guess they’ll say it’s BL’s problem… but
well, maybe not.)

Anyone familiar with settings as we have Euro enabled in PayPal and in Bricklink
and our current customers are unable to pay so we have had to close international
as an option.

Looks open to me.

  Regards Angelina

I just broke a piece off of a dark green 2x16 plate the other day when cleaning
and rebuilding my Sopwith Camel. Not fun since that's the only set with that
piece... Thankfully it was still usable and I was able to put it in a spot where
you can't see the damage.

Hi,

Unfortunately, you can’t substract, merge, or intersect Wanted Lists on BrickLink.

You’ll need to use third-party tools, like BrickStore (application) or Rebrickable
(website).

That'll be why I can't work it out. Thanks for letting me know.

I've had a ton of Dark Red and Reddish Brown parts break in my early Winter

indoors. I expect my LotR will behave the same way if I ever risk building them
again.

This happens sometimes when a seller has set up a shipping method that doesn't
show the estimated cost to the buyer cart, in this case the seller is probably
using a 10.000 USD value as a default that manually changes when invoicing after
placing the order.

(10,000 + 32.06) x 0,21 (VAT %) = 2106,73

Dark red breaks very very often. I had found a

in a used lot, and
when taken apart, 25% of the dark red pieces ended up either breaking or at least
cracking. Brown is even worse.

I lost numerous dark red parts taking this ship apart too. :'

In fact, I've lost more dark red parts than reddish brown (although there've
been a fair few of those too).

Earlier this year, I purchased a custom LEGO set from Heart Bricker's Ebay
store that used reddish brown pieces to create a custom car based on a 1969 Ford
Mustang. Included in the set was a bag with some extra 1x4 reddish brown tiles,
and it had a note on the bag that basically stated that these particular pieces
were notorious for being brittle, and the parts in the bag were extras just in
case they were needed. Well... they certainly WERE needed, as three of the 1x4
reddish brown tiles in the main set literally snapped in two while I was building
the car! It's a good thing those extra 1x4 tiles were included, or I would
have had to get on BrickLink and order replacements... and THOSE potentially
could have snapped apart too!

Depending on the era, and what type of climate/conditions/storage it was subjected
to, Dark Red can be extremely brittle! I have broken a large amount of Dark
Red and Reddish Brown parts during disassembly using a brick separator. Once
I have a suspect batch, I start grabbing the parts and give them a slight bend-
and they snap like crackers in my hands. Then into the circular file (trash)
they go.

I have had 1x8 tiles, 4x6 plates, 2x8 plates, the curved slope 2 x 1 x 1 1/3
with Recessed Stud, to name a few, break even when being super careful in taking
them apart all in dark red, there was a few years when dark red as well as reddish
brown were very brittle.

That headline is very uncool ... and quite political to boot

Either it's a (BL?) glitch or a seller manipulating

It's _NOT_ the "government" (whatever that might be) robbing you

Hi,

Unfortunately, you can’t substract, merge, or intersect Wanted Lists on BrickLink.

You’ll need to use third-party tools, like BrickStore (application) or Rebrickable
(website).

You may be asking for deeper information than this, but I would say they developed
a set and then decided not to release it, so a number got assigned and they don't
want to complicate their stuff, so they didn't reassign the number.

Hi,

What are you calling “the lot number”?  The quantity?  Which one, in the store
or in your WL?

Could you be a bit more precise on what you do?  (Give an example.  Are you using
auto-fill feature?)

This’s exactly how I do my laundry: I put all my clothes in a hermetic bag before

But I don’t get why people grimace when I’m upwind to them

IOW: if the peroxide is not in contact with the plastic, how can they react together?

My experience on (older) discolored items...

Although peroxide works on discolored white parts, it does not (properly) work
on discolored blue or grey parts.

However putting the items behind glass (e.g. HR+, HR++) in sunlight does work
on discolored white, blue and grey items. Maybe not all, maybe not perfectly
but I have had good results over the past years. Other colors I don't know.

Discoloring however may return after some time.

LOL. By the way, to reply your answer: I just thouth that maybe it's
not about the contact, but about the way the rays hit the plastic after passing
through the hydrogen peroxide!

Er, no that’s not how it works.

Last I looked, it would be the “bleaching”/“whitening” effect of the peroxide:
it transforms some molecules so they don’t absorb/reflect the light the same
way, thus changing (back) the apparent colour.

But that doesn’t repair the degraded plastic: it degrades the molecules that
were created by the degradation of the plastic (and may help degrade the plastic
further too).

yellowing:
    ABS + (light and/or heat + oxygen) → degraded-ABS + yellow-stuff

whitening:
    degraded-ABS + yellow-stuff + UVs + oxygen → degraded-ABS + whitened-yellow-stuff

Whatever you choose to do:
1. Avoid direct sunlight: it has UVc that are very bad for the plastic (and you).
(Put everything behing some glass.)
2. Tell your buyers.

Thanks for your detailed explanation, and for your time. My buyers are fully
briefed, that's my primary mission! and I needed this informations for my
personal development, not for my inventory.

Have a nice evening!

The correct URL is either
https://www.bricklink.com/orderExcel.asp?orderType=placed (you’re the buyer)
or
https://www.bricklink.com/orderExcel.asp?orderType=received (you’re the seller)
otherwise the page returns a server error (which is not the error you’re having,
so something else is wrong here).

(And would you mind not cancelling/reposting your messages before anyone has
time to answer? )

Thansk to all

I’m not sure I 100% understand your question, so forgive me if this reply doesn’t
answer it. Hydrogen Peroxide does not need a “catalyst” to to whiten, but UV
rays seem to help it with the oxidation process. Hydrogen peroxide is the main
active ingredient in most teeth whitening products, and they do not require UV
rays. As far as whitening LEGO, putting white parts in a clear container in direct
sunlight for at least 6 hours definitely helps remove discoloration. This happens
bc it targets electrons and sort of breaks down the atoms that cause staining.
I have no evidence that this harms the parts, but I would not use this process
on bricks I would sell because it seems like anything that causes molecules to
fall apart can’t be good for the integrity of LEGO. Again, I have no evidence,
and humans use it on their these without damaging the enamel, so maybe do a google
search.
As far as using that method on a part with a sticker, I definitely would not
try that, even with plastic wrap over the sticker (not sure how that would even
work). Hydrogen peroxide can and will get under the edges of stickers and loosen
them - you know how you pour it on a little paper cut and it starts to bubble?
That, but under a sticker. If you’re hell bent on it, don’t try to just cover
the sticker with plastic wrap.
