Otherwise, it does not look like Lego to me -- unless it is a new or uncatalogued

Or neatly Dremelled

I don’t know any LEGO part that could be modified to look that way.

Enter the set number (75021-1) in the Part-out page: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/partout.page
it’ll (help you) put the parts in a Wanted List.

Then use the Buy Page to find a store. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page

It depends what other outgoings you have.

20% is a huge amount to be spending on lego if you are spending 95% on essentials.
Whereas 20% is not much if you are only spending 10% on essentials.

Isn’t LEGO part of the essentials?

Why is this?

Because EasyBuy doesn’t care about filters.

Use the Buy page ( https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page ) and Auto-select,
it obeys the filters just above the list of shops ((3) on the first image here:

The solution(s) outlined in this thread don't seem to work anymore for this
latest update bug - at least for me. I've completed wiped every possible
folder related to Stud.io 2.0 and Part Designer but upon reinstalling both programs
it still throws the same error.

1. You could (actually should) have answered in said thread

2. You need to install December’s version of Studio (and refuse to update)
if you want to use PartDesigner before the devs fix the problem with the new
version.
(Explanations / links are in the thread, 3rd page.)

  Hello,

I'm building the 42145 Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter. On step 142, the instructions
show inserting a red pin with axle through two narrow beams, through a wide beam,
and in step 143, placing a pinion on the axle end and another pinion on the axle
beneath it. After installing both pinions, the longer axle is almost impossible
to turn due to the friction from the red pin with the axle end holding the pinion
above it. Before continuing, I want to make sure this is correct as it doesn't
seem right.

Thank you!

Hi, I haven’t built the set or looked further in the instructions but it looks
like a classic brake, to prevent the axle from rotating freely.
Is it part of the landing gear’s up-down mechanism?

Open source culture is foreign to artists and scientists.

I don’t really agree with that, or that depends on whom you label “scientists.”
Open source is the fundament of science: you share what you do, how you do it,
with what you do it.
Grafted on that is the people who pay the scientists and want something in return
or want to know how/to whom to distribute the money.  And those people are therefore
interested in technology and applications, not science, and there you get patents
and secrets.

As for artists, well all the artists train by looking at and reproducing others’
arts (works for paintings or books).  Then they find & do their own things and
add their creativity… or not, when they found the “cash recipe” and rehash the
same work / story over and over.
Those AIs do exactly as the latter: they are trained on what exists, find the
recipe (in a totally obscure way for us) and produce similar things over and
over.

For anyone new on this topic and don't know what Chat GPT is: Chat GPT is
a AI-based program that people use for generating dialogues.

Thank you for wording it this way

Those AIs are indeed not answering questions, they are generating
text (or images) as a continuation of what precedes, mimicking answers, mimicking
a dialogue.

They are like your phone’s keyboard app’s (or Google’s search bar’s) completion
on steroids.  They don’t know anything and they even less understand
anything.

As such, they are reproducing what’s more probable to happen, that is, the average.
(And therefore they need to be “curated” because 80% of everything is crap.)

  […]
I'm flabbergasted by Chat GPT. What seemed unlikely 30 years ago (for example
in science fiction films) is now just everyday reality.

Well, in movies / books, the AIs know things and think.  There’s
no thinking or even knowledge here.
(One could argue there’s knowledge in the sense that the AI “knows” how to make
sentences… but it’s not organized knowledge, it’s fine-tuned reflexes.)

I am personally convinced that it will not be long before we can no longer differentiate
between real people and robots.

Well, Eliza already fooled enough people almost 60 years ago.

It also raises the question to what extent you
can still trust written communication in the future.

And pictures and sounds and movies.

It seems there’s been an update of Unity (the game engine on which Studio is

That’s what triggered the last big change in support for MacOS (add support for
M1 = lose support for MacOS 10.9 to 10.13; the True Apple Way).

Obviously thinking the next time I need one I will have it. To date, that has
yet to happen.

Thoughts?

Yep.  Need 4.  Think of buying 8 because, eh, maybe I’ll build two or another
similar thing.  Hesitate in front of the cart: “so 8 or round up to 10?”  Or
“eh, they have 11, I can’t leave 1 all by itself.”
Then I eventually validate the order.
And 5min after that I look at the MOC and find another idea which either means
I actually don’t need the part at all… or I now need 12 and bougth 10 (or 11)….

That’s why I take a long time between orders

not obvious whether someone (sender or receiver) uses English or Globish / understands

I should remember him that as a seller here, he also has obligations ?

I would let it go: they are obviously not in a mood to receive advices, however
they are expressed.

I agree with you that your seller is way out of line.

I would just mention that, human nature being what it is, you should always expect
a defensive or negative reply when you tell anyone: 'You should...!"

Good luck,
Jen

You shouldn’t say “you should…!”!

As both buyer and seller are French, I suppose they spoke French and so there
should be less of a language barrier.

There’s several nuances in French that can be reduced to “you should…!” in Globish.
For starters, there’s “tu” (singular & colloquial you) or “vous” (politeness
plural) or the impersonal “ça” (it, but then it would translate to “it should”)
or the impersonal “il” (similar to “it should” but translates to “you should”).
Then there’s the tense: present (obligation) or conditional (advice).

So it’s hard to judge just on a translation what could have triggered that answer.
Also, these social codes are not always understood or shared and it seems the
seller is under stress at the moment.
I mean, the answer is still out of line but it may not just be the exclamation
point

the best was would be to watch a youtube video of an unboxing of the set to see
what you need for it as bricklink (or any other site i think) don't have
the option to see what is included in certain bags

The simplest would be to look if someone hasn’t already done the job.
For instance on Rebrickable, where they sometimes do “sub-sets” inventories.

And indeed, the T-Rex is there: https://rebrickable.com/sets/75936-1-s1/jurassic-park-trex-rampage-trex/?inventory=1#parts

Hmm, there can be two reasons they are most wanted:
— they are rare, and therefore you don’t need a lot of storage place,
— they are sold as fast as the the stock is replenished, and therefore you don’t
need a lot of storage place.

On the contrary, parts that are least wanted aren’t sold and therefore accumulate
in your store and need more storage place.

— Open the Wanted List,
— set the number of items per page to the max,
— select the parts (the checkbox in the header selects all the parts on the current
page),
— click the “Quantity” button, it opens a dialog with the option to multiply
all the quantities.

You’ll have to do that for all the pages.

You may also copy the wanted list to another one (same procedure but click “Copy”)
and buy the two together.

To buy multiple WL together, use the Buy page ( https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page
) and select the WLs in the left pane.
