That does not seem to exist in the catalog. How do I go about adding it or telling

...there are two different versions of instructions, showing two different sticker
configurations. It is likely that both minifigures in the catalog are correct.

Should we add a note to set 641-1 to explain that it can come with different
instruction and sticker sheet?

How can I modify inventory for minifig?

You can see the problem there:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3840pb01&in=M

Actually, I mispoke. It's this set here:

Set No: 670 Name: Mobile Crane
*
670-1 (Inv) Mobile Crane
46 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1978
Sets: Town: Classic Town: Construction
There is a note about the change in parts, but without having two sticker entries
confirmed for that set, it would be hard to add the sticker info into the two
"versions".

The problem with this set is there is a lack of evidence. You can look up on
swooshable to see some other things I've written about it there.

Just be aware that the issue with those early stickers is really tricky. For
that one power shovel set you referenced:

My bad, I accidentally left the setting on 'Regular' before submitting
- this should still be an 'Alternate' part.

Mind you, it would help if this field - like all the others - did not have a
default value...

Okay, so we won't be changing item numbers at the moment. I have added that
portion of the project to the Catalog Roadmap (currently item 30):

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2476

We also will not address Type 1/Type 2 items with this project. That has been
added as a separate project.

At first try to weight the whole set and check the BL weight.

Otherwise this link may help you too.https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/lego-star-wars-7662-trade-federation-459893715

91 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1993
Sets: Town: Classic Town: Traffic

* Change 5 Part Light Gray 2412b Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille with Bottom Groove / Lip {Regular to Alternate} {match ID 0 to 2}

Comments from Submitter:
https://forum.brickpirate.net/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=24109 shows 2412a. Set in my personal collection has 2412b so both variants should be in this inventory.

Unfortunately it is not clear if the parts used to build the set for that review
are original. They are definitly not new (at least the technic axle has clearly
visible signs of usage) and the user "TOOL" mentioned somewhere in another review
thread that he sometimes uses two copies of a set for the reviews (a new one
to show the sealed bags and a used one to show the parts and the completed model).
Therefore in this case I would not consider the photos as a reliable source.

Regards,
Jonas

I don't see any parts in that review that look particularly used. The Technic
axle has visible plastic flow lines in it, but I don't see any wear on it.

I have never seen anything like that on a new axle, but you may be right and
then everything is fine.

(Nevertheless I suggest to be careful with pics from that source. Here we can
see the wrong variant

Part No: 3942a Name: Cone 2 x 2 x 2 - Solid Stud

And perhaps, when the next problem comes along, examining all of them again.
It almost makes a person think that there must be a better way . . .

Export the catalog to txt, and open in Excel. This will give you pretty much
unlimited ability to search. Write an Excel formula to find what you are looking
for. You can even write a formula to create the desired replacement title
if you like, then just copy paste the change back to BL.

Regexp is a little harder to do, but Google “Excel Regexp” and you’ll get some
examples how to create your own function Using Excel VB.

Or if you are just not into programming or that technical you could follow the
guidelines set out here for using the advanced filter option in Excel

https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2720580/using-advanced-filters-in-excel-2010

Good luck with that.

Guess what - as an exercise I just tried this in Brickstok - it works a treat.
Use the filters to suggest the description contains a number or the word for
that number.

The only problem is once it found them all I could not easily mass update them.
The search works great though.

My search for parts with integers and words numbers in description (of course
dimension like "1 x 2 x 2" is not included on integer number search)

result = 58 parts
You can start with "only" 58 parts and not 100K+

PS: my search is not perfect, but it not the goal
The goal is to reduce the search results for human brain analysis

I totally support this change
Consistency is key
Maybe search and change all you can find and then put it out there on here for
messages about items missed. That’s if the sql person is on holiday or unavailable

I have noticed this before and definitely agree it needs to be worked on. The
problem is (and I'm starting to understand the rearranging the chairs thing)
there are too many problems.

In the case of this problem, you can't even find the problem because you
can't search for it. So it would involve examining every single catalog
entry. All 100K+ of them.

And perhaps, when the next problem comes along, examining all of them again.
It almost makes a person think that there must be a better way . .

The answer is really quite simple - talk to a SQL person and they will advise
you how to organise your query to find precisely what you want. It isn't
rocket science. .

What do you want to find?

Something like this?
"* three *" = 153 results
"* 3 *" = 6675 results
"* three *" AND "* 3 *" = 16 results

As example, last search find:
"Technic, Panel Car Spoiler 3 x 8 with Three Holes and Black and Yellow Danger
Stripes and Mud Pattern (Stickers) - Set 7968"

"Primo Brick 1 x 1 with Three Flowers and Number 3 on Opposite Side Pattern"

Of course,I made query to find only for "three" and "3" on same description,
but with a regexp it should be simple to spot every "word digit" with "digit"
on same description like "blah with two legs and 1 arm"

Some other incoherence (digit 3 should be between '' when you have pattern
after):
"*number 3 *pattern*" = 22 result
"*number '3' *pattern*" = 3 result

If you know what you want to find, it should be easy to make a search query,
to spot the majority of incoherence.

404 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 1986
Sets: Castle: Black Falcons

* Change 1 Part Blue 4502a Minifigure, Plume Feather Small {Regular to Extra}
* Change 1 Part Red 4502a Minifigure, Plume Feather Small {Regular to Extra}

Comments from Submitter:
I do not see these parts used on any model. If they are not going to be in the inventory as sprue, isn't it better to move them to the extra section?

From the Additional Information About Regular Items section of the Inventory
Sections: Regular, Extra, Counterpart, and Alternate
help page:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562

Parts on Sprues - Complete sprues are included in this section unless
some parts from the sprues are used in minifigures. In that case, the parts from
the sprues that are not used in minifigures are included in this section.

These requests will not be accepted.

Cheers,
Randy

I don't find this a good policy for this case.

Cheers,
Reza

All parts used for main or any other model of the set go to the regular section.
This is a good policy for regular section. Any other part that happened to come
with the set, not used in any model, directly or indirectly, is better to be
in the extra section.
I see we will have anyway some inconsistency with parts coming with sprues, no
matter which policy is chosen.
