| Hi all, I am new here but a friend suggested this to me. I recently used Mecabrick
to create an idea and I am now wondering if I can upload a file somewhere to
identify and possibly order the pieces I need for it. I would love to buy them
here and maybe create an instuction manual for the set. I have a .stl file or
a .dae file. Does anyone have experience with this? Thank you.

Hi and welcome
You need a Studio file (.io), an LDraw file (.ldr or .mpd), an LDD file (.lxf),
a BrickStore file (.bsx), or a BrickLink Wanted List XML file (.xml) to be able
to upload to a Wanted List here.
I don’t know any tool that can convert the generic STL or Collada (.dae) files
to the other formats or to a parts list.
Maybe you can get the parts list from Mecabricks?
Once it’s done, you can upload your file here: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/upload.page
(hover over the white, heart-shaped “Want” icon and click upload).
