So, this is sort of a wider-spread issue that would be adressed across several
sets, so I wanted to make one bigger post to adress this as I'm not sure
whether this should be handled through a note or through inventory changes, and
I want to ensure consistency.

I've noticed that several sets with SQUARE rubber bands, the set typically
includes twice the amount of rubber bands necessary to build the set, and these
are typically also included in the piece count listed on the box. However, on
Bricklink, these parts are handled inconsistently.

I've only looked at BIONICLE sets, for the time being.

The following contain 2 rubber bands in their piece count shown on the box, but
only uses one:
8545 Whenua already handles this through a note.

Set No: 8540  Name: Vakama
*
8540-1 (Inv) Vakama
27 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 8541  Name: Matau
*
8541-1 (Inv) Matau
26 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 8542  Name: Onewa
*
8542-1 (Inv) Onewa
30 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 8543  Name: Nokama
*
8543-1 (Inv) Nokama
28 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 8544  Name: Nuju
*
8544-1 (Inv) Nuju
30 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 8545  Name: Whenua
*
8545-1 (Inv) Whenua
28 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

These are duplicates of the above sets but don't show a piece count:

Set No: 1417  Name: Vakama {Kabaya Version}
*
1417-1 (Inv) Vakama {Kabaya Version}
27 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 1417 Name: Vakama polybag
*
1417-2 (Inv) Vakama polybag
27 Parts, 2003
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 1418  Name: Matau
*
1418-1 (Inv) Matau
26 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 1419  Name: Nokama
*
1419-1 (Inv) Nokama
28 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Set No: 1420  Name: Nuju
*
1420-1 (Inv) Nuju
30 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Turaga

Nui-Rama contains 8 rubber bands, but only 4 are used in the main model, and
2 in the alternate model. Box pcs is 138 - It erroneously excludes all 8 rubber
bands.

Strangely, on Bricks & Pieces, the pcs count is 294. In a LEGO Shop At Home catalogue
I've found, it is 246.

Set No: 8537  Name: Nui-Rama
*
8537-1 (Inv) Nui-Rama
142 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Rahi

Muaka & Kane-ra contains 12 XS and 16 S rubber bands, but only 6 XS, respectively
8 S, are used in the main model, and 1 XS and 4 S in the alternate model. Box
pcs is 647.

Set No: 8538  Name: Muaka & Kane-Ra
*
8538-1 (Inv) Muaka & Kane-Ra
633 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Rahi

Manas contains 8 rubber bands, but only 4 are used in the main model, and 6 in
the alternate model. Box pcs is 442.

The same LEGO Shop At Home catalogue mentioned for the Nui-Rama, however, shows
the count of 428 - not sure what's up there.

Set No: 8539  Name: Manas
*
8539-1 (Inv) Manas
442 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Rahi

Nui-Jaga contains 8 rubber bands, but only 4 are used in the main model, and
4 in the alternate model. Box pcs is 218. Like Whenua, this one is already
noted.

Set No: 8548  Name: Nui-Jaga
*
8548-1 (Inv) Nui-Jaga
218 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Rahi

Tarakava contains 8 rubber bands, but only 4 are used in the main model, and
2 in the alternate model. Box pcs is 401.

Set No: 8549  Name: Tarakava
*
8549-1 (Inv) Tarakava
401 Parts, 2001
Sets: BIONICLE: Rahi

As a tangential addendum of notes to add:
Exo-Toa box pcs is 360, erroneously excluding the rubber bands.

Set No: 8557  Name: Exo-Toa
*
8557-1 (Inv) Exo-Toa
367 Parts, 2002
Sets: BIONICLE: Titans

Lewa Nuva box pcs is 36 - as already noted, all of the 38 pieces in the set are
used in the instructions one way or another, and Bricks & Pieces says 38 as well.

Set No: 8567 Name: Lewa Nuva
*
8567-1 (Inv) Lewa Nuva
38 Parts, 2002
Sets: BIONICLE: Toa Nuva

146; oops.
Here's the catalogue: https://archive.org/details/Lego-Shop-At-Home-summer-2001-Bionicle-Cover/page/n47/mode/2up

Inventories should be adjusted as close to original new set contents as possible.
If the official piece count helps to confirm the changes, even better. As mentioned,
some of these were fixed in the past due to random inventory changes here and
there, but there are many sets in the catalog that do not follow the modern definitions
used to inventory sets. Any inventories that you can help to fix would be welcomed.

Cheers,
Randy

Don't forget Roboriders! I successfully changed one of them a few years back
that also had a large rubber band.
