| I have never put a limit on pieces sold, I have thought on the subject but never,
after all I am here to sell. But lately some orders are so large that it takes
hours to fill.
I tried to edit the store but see that it says lots to limit. Any suggestions
from you big guns out there how you/or if you have limits and how much. I was
thinking 1500 pieces.
Thank you in advance, Kathleen

I think of it in terms of how much I want receive for reaching into the drawer.
So, if i want 20 cents per pull, for a 5 cent part, i require a buyer to purchase
four of them. That way, if I get an order with 100 lots, at least I know it won't
be for $5 or $10.

| I don't have lot limits. If I want to sell the piece I have to pick it, whether
it's part of a 3 lot order or a 300 lot order.
If you are picking pieces that you feel aren't worth your time, consider
removing them from your inventory or sell them only in bulk.

Lot limits were suggested by admins a few years ago, when some false buyers were
buying 100s of lots or in some cases entire stores and not paying, holding up
all inventory.
But of course it depends on the size of the store. If the average order size
is low and never above 50, then 50 as a limit won't impact sales. Whereas
a seller that regularly sells 200 or 500 lot orders will need a higher limit
if they want to retain those orders.

Additionally, they were put in place by some sellers because if a buyer cancelled
or NPB´d the order, the seller couldn´t re-upload that order in the system if
it exceeded ~800 lots.
So in such cases they had to replenish the inventory all manually to be able
uploading it again.
I don´t know if there were changes made on this inbetween.

| Thanks for pointing this out, I'd forgotten about it.
Here's a link to Admin_Russell message, where a lot limit of 1,000 for most
stores was suggested:

Did you mean 1500 lots (not pieces)?
I have my store set at 300 but I also offer a bypass for people that ask. Large
lot orders can take a long time to pack and I was getting a lot of large orders
all at once followed by, will this ship tomorrow, have you started my order yet
etc. So the bypass is just a way to remind people it takes longer to fill larger
orders. I also can give them a better estimate of timing when I provide the bypass
so we are on the same page. Example, slow week will have this out tomorrow
or busy week may be a day or two. Something like this might take some of the
pressure off you while still allowing customers to get everything they need.
