I do a lot of mosaics and have tried to mount a crowbar on the end of what is
effectively a drill-bit holder as trying to use a crowbar piece itself as an
adult is so frustrating. Wondering if anyone has figured out another tool that
works like the crowbar does in prying off 1x1 round tiles and 1x1 round plates
off of large mosaics?

I'm thinking there has to be like a dental tool or something but worried
about scratching pieces

Personally, I use a hammer and chisel

By using the separator for ‘stripping’ multiple tiles from a plate there is a
large chance of making a scratch on your plate.
So be careful or do not use it in that way.

He mentions that in the video. I'm going to practice using an old baseplate
and old tiles, see if I can get the hang of it.

This started coming in tile rich sets but I've been too nervous to use it
because it seems like its ideal for scratching between the studs.

Not sure if they are called the same thing in Canads, but search for Bojo tools.
There are loads of different types and sizes. In plastic they won't scratch
up parts.

Those look really cool. Of course, now that I've searched for them, every
ad I see for weeks will be for Car Panel Tool kits. Fun!

Thanks,

I have one of these but they face the same problem as the crowbar: They are designed
for smaller hands and get tiresome when one works with a mosaic of, say, 6800
spaces.

Thanks but for mosaic work I sometimes need to remove 1 round tile or plate amidst
a full panel without removing any adjacent pieces. So for that a brick separator
is not useful. Hence seeking the suggestions

Remove 2 and put one back! Or for one off errors, use the crow bar that you have.

Thanks but this, and many of these suggestions, aren't what I am looking
for.

LEGO mosaics require sometimes pulling up 1 piece from a plate full of pieces
I don't wish to disturb. That is why the crowbar is the essential tool and
why any brick separator is functionally useful for that fine work.

A little off the beaten path, but you could try a clone brand separator?
