I hate when they make changes like that. Like everyone is supposed to know what
a death trooper looks like? So I gotta consume all media from all themes to have
a chance? It's like when one of the Ron heads used to be: "Head, Ron".

Let's make changes that are more descriptive.

sorry I was referring to the area where it says add to collection not the name
sorry for the confusion since that is where it used to say add to inventory

Oh yeah, that too. I didn't look close at your pic. That was just a "similar
to" part. My bad.

I agree with your original meaning though, too. Can we find a new location
for the new my collection feature? Why did it take the spot of my inventory?

I do not understand the point of this feature.

Just read all the posts in the Suggestions topic about it.

Just read all the posts where we answered “you can’t do that here, try Rebrickable

to be fair many have asked for it and ultimately over time it may lead to more
sales but from the listing POV it will ruin my muscle memory of the thousand
and thousands of times if click add to inventory where my collection now is

Could have easily been added to the end of the row instead of right where we've
been clicking to add inventory. Now, where to find those parts I added to my
"collection"

agreed it would have been so much better over there.

Yeah, mine too. I'm in the middle of updating my Wanted List, and now I just
keep clicking the wrong thing. Why couldn't My Collection have been added
to the far right instead of moving the entire row over?

That being said, I think it's a great concept. But right now, it's very
poorly executed. It needs functions like sorting by value, quantity, etc. It
DESPERATELY needs the ability to "part out" a set in your collection to the Parts
and Minifigures tabs, or even better, a checkbox for any set in the Sets list
to also show all Parts and Minifigures in those tabs. It needs to be integrated
into the rest of the site, like Rebrickable, so you can see what percentage of
a set you have in your collection and which parts you need to acquire. It needs
the ability to remove items on your Wanted List and automatically add them to
your Collection.

I hope all of these functions are in the works, but right now, at launch, the
function is so simplistic that it's virtually useless.

Agreed that would have been 10x better

Hopefully! I can see this feature being really popular if brought to its full
potential

And orders: you need to be able to add items from the orders you made (once you’ve
got them in hand).

And a way to remove items.

And a way to have multiple lists (all parts, available parts, parts used in MOCs…).

And… and… and.

You're not wrong.

To their credit, I now see a Part Out button when adding sets from either the
catalog entry or the My Collection - Sets tab. I'm not sure if I missed
it the first time around or if it was just added, but that makes the feature
much better already. Hopefully they'll keep adding functionality and options
to the My Collection feature, and I like your idea for multiple lists.

I think it's particularly crucial that they add the functionality ASAP to
1) sort by quantity, 2) view what percentage of any given set you have in your
collection and what pieces are missing, and 3) move items between Wanted Lists,
My Inventory, and My Collection at the click of a button.

BTW, I meant remove multiple items at the same time.  Not going through
all of them one by one to trash them or change the quantities.

Like in: I built a MOC, the parts are not available anymore.

Bits are appearing here and there… or maybe we have to set in our habits and
it takes a couple times to see them

Ah, I finally get Axaday’s earlier answer now ( https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1378813
).

(Third time is the charm   I’m a quick study, I just need to be explained long
enough.)

There’s an announcement on the main page now (wasn’t there at the time).

Seems they are adding it bit by bit because there’s no other way to go see your
Collection than through that annoucement or the link in items’ pages.

Ah, there’s a link in My BL now… must have needed a refresh or something because
it wasn’t there before I looked for it in XP….

I'm pretty sure that the position had stayed the same for 20 years.

Seems counterintuitive to put the buttons on the top of the screen. I don't
think it is a bad idea to make the price guide button bigger, but it should stay
in the middle of the page.

And what exactly is the purpose of the buy button? It doesn't do anything
but scroll down the page slightly.

What is the point of the buy button? It just takes you to the list on the page
you are already on. Is this for small phone screens in landscape or something?

What is the point of the buy button? It just takes you to the list on the page
you are already on. Is this for small phone screens in landscape or something?

It changes the tab (change it to Color Info and click to see).

But the Price Guide button works as the old link: it sends you to another page,
not the tab.

2 similar buttons, 2 different actions.

Not on my browser, it just scrolls about two inches down to the list I can already
see.

Er, if you’re already looking at the Items For Sale tab, it sure doesn’t change
it again (or it doesn’t look like it did).

And if you’re looking at another tab and the button doesn’t change the tab, what’s
your browser?

I agree, don't like it, wish they would pursue other things that actually
need improvement, like the help situation, instead of things like this.

Relax. It will only be in place for about 12 months, until some techie decides
that
it would be better to have the collection button in the middle and the inventory
button at the beginning. It is called progress??

Or how about being able to lay them out how you want to? I am not a seller, so
I have never needed the "Add to Inventory" functionality. I would like my order
to be "Add to Wanted List", "Add to My Collection", and then "Add to Inventory".

Haha, you can't even save values for how much you've paid or put remarks
on it?
Thanks, I'll stay with one of the 3 stockrooms for my private collection
then.

I think it would be nice for a part to have certain keywords and a place to look
them up. There are a lot of holes in this thinking, but I think they could be
filled, idk

Another feature that's currently missing: When I go to a part page in the
catalog, it shows in parentheses the amount I have in My Collection, My Inventory,
and My Wanted List. But while clicking on My Inventory or My Wanted List shows
me the current entries I have in various colors for that part, clicking on My
Collection only takes me to the general My Collection page, not to the specific
entry for that part. This makes it very difficult to manually edit quantities
in My Collection or to see how many of that part I have in every color.

Yeah, I think that is bug. I reported it a little while ago.

Ugh. I have already misclicked this half a dozen times. Please do shift the My
Collection to the outside slot and leave us sellers knowing where our buttons
are!

100% Agreed move it to the left to the top anywhere but where add inventory used
to be.

They are going to wait until you have developed a new memory, then change it
back. That is how companies without user experience (UX) pros or evil UX pros
work. I am not sure which camp BL falls into, probably without anyone to do
UX!

Boy the site is snappy right now, too! NOT!
