| Hey All!
We would like to purchase an order from a local seller for pick-up, but they
have instant checkout.
Could the seller remove it for a small window of time allowing us to put in the
order so that automatic shipping isn't added? Or is there an easier way for
the seller to send us an invoice?
Thanks for any help you can give!

| he should be able to add a method for that or alternatively, it might be easier
to just pay in full and if the seller agreed to it beforehand have the seller
refund the shipping cost.

| Okay, but wouldn't the seller get hit with PayPal fees when they receive
the initial payment and then refund?

| to some extent hence why its easier and not cheaper. But arguably if its only
a small shipping cost its up to the seller if the want to spend the time making
a new shipping option or eat the %3 (about) fee and save themselves the work.
Both sides have bad and bad

| It's realistically up to the seller. Personally, if it was a one-time thing
id gladly take the fee hit to avoid going into shipping settings since they can
get complicated fast and despite having gone into them many times I usually cant
remember head or tails about anything for a few min once I open it up again

| That sounds like it would be time to break for pizza!
So, is it possible for the seller to turn off instant checkout and then turn
it back on? Or does this completely mess up the settings?
And if it does make a mess of things, where on BL does a seller go to set up
an invoice for local pick-up?

If the seller has request for invoice available then he or she can just set shipping
to zero before sending the invoice, e.g.

He could add an additional shipping option with manual invoicing and enable it
until the checkout process has been completed and then disable the option again
(created the same way he makes other shipping options but just with the manual
invoice instead of automatic)

| Agree with this that it’s usually not worth the sellers time and personally I
can’t understand why any buyer would want to do local pickup unless the seller
is charging outrageous fees or you literally live next door. Otherwise you’re
looking at gas money of probably $2+ and 30 minutes or more of your time to save
$4. Just seems odd.

| Agreed! This wouldn't make any sense over $4 or $5 shipping. But in this
case, I purchased a couple of new sets, and I'm only 15 minutes from the
seller. I'm also meeting the seller in their city to keep the request reasonable
on their end.

| Thanks for all the helpful advice!
The seller was able to add the "request for invoice" option at checkout, and
it worked!
