Hi BrickLink devs,
I'd like to report a pretty annoying one.

Option under
Inventory - Update My Inventory - Increase/Decrease my cost
does effect the price of the items in the selected category,
instead of the value of "my cost" fields, as opposed to its label.

It is not only a frustrating bug, also a pretty huge risk, because you can unwillingly
update the price (even regarding your whole inventory), by a click of a button
- as it has just happened to me...

Here are the possible outcomes after an incident:
- If you would not have noticed this issue in time, you would've waited for
your "never-coming" orders, if you - let's say - would have wanted to increase
the value of "my cost" by 50%, and ended up adding 50% on the top of the items'
recent price in the given category. Similarly, you would've lost a lot of
money, if you ended up decreasing the items' recent price in the given category
and would've received orders in the meantime.
- If you wouldn't have had a backup, good luck reverting this change, if
you have a bigger store and/or high traffic; and - of course - if you wouldn't
have noticed this quickly.
- If you would've had a fresh backup, probably still lost a lot of time and
therefore money; not to mention the headache of a full re-import.

If this option supposed to change the price, instead of "My Cost", please
change its label, and create a new update option, dedicated to the "My Cost"
fields.

Hope this helps, makes sense, and can be fixed very-very soon.

Thanks

This just got fixed:

Fixed inventory increase/decrease My Cost feature modifying price instead of
cost
Fixed inventory increase/decrease My Cost feature not modifying all categories

I am pretty confused now because I used the bricklink "increase my cost" field
for years now updating my prices. Fixing that is ok - now it does what it says.

BUT - how do I update my prices now in general?

You put them in Sale for +X% or -Y% then use the option "Make sale prices (and
all tier prices) the base prices." It should make the same result as the old
bug for My Cost form.
