Hi all,

Have these pickaxes and not sure if they are genuine, no LEGO logo {I know this
isn't unusual} but ones in catalogue have it just the number you can see,
17, 15 and 5 and there's no alternative also ends are rounded not flat. Colour
is bang on, Jack hammer is genuine and there to compare.
Thoughts?

Most of mine from my childhood are just like this, in both old and new dark gray.
I think they are real

Seconded. I have a bunch of them that look just like those in your picture. They
are real.

Besides the color grab some other pickaxes and check the injection point, Lego
very rarely moves this. Molds changes over time with slight variations and parts
can wear I always investigate the injection point and look for ugly seams not
present on legit parts.

Mark is absolutely amazing. I for one greatly thank him for his superb and timely
reference materials. He may no longer be around here, but he is around here in
spirit.

He is!
I noticed that he posted the pickax comparison on the same day the OP asked about
them.

Wish he would come back here to post.

I have the site bookmarked, it's a tremendous resource. If you read the forums
regularly, the comics are great too:
