| Hey everyone! I was wondering how much do you guys pay sorters? I'm trying
to make a chart of how much the average person pays. Thanks in advance! And if
you have any catalogers how much you pay them. If I collect enough data I will
share if people want.

That is sort of a hard question to answer. You do not seem to be the sort of
person that would not be fair to those sort of people that would sort bricks
for you. What ever happens, I am sure you can sort it out.

What do you want:
cheap inexperienced labour that will leave as soon as a better paid job comes
along, and as they have no long term future in the job won't care too much
and will probably make mistakes that will need correcting and affect your feedback
score or
more experienced labour that you pay a reasonable rate that will encourage the
employees to stay, gain experience and will try not to nake errors.

I give my sorter a set to build now and then and odds and ends pieces that she
likes while sorting.
I also give her room and board and rides to wherever she needs to go.

I mean, this is a serious case for divorce!
What other use could she have???
Another solution is to make kids: but you've to wait a few years before they're
set up for this job, and won't be able to use them a few years later - kids
are another rip off!

| My kids are the worst sorts of all time. When they find those cool or rare minifigures/parts
they want to keep them. They also spend more time building random stuff out
of parts than sorting.

No one sorts my LEGO but me! Why would I give up the best part?? 
Catalogers would be priceless as that is a highly skilled position. 
Now the real question is how much to pay someone else to pull and pack orders??
That would be my least favorite part.

I pay anyone working for me $15/hr, which is around the upper end of what you
could get in an easily obtainable food service job here in central Florida, but
working for me is considerably more relaxed and flexible than most other jobs
with that pay. What's important is that you're operating at enough scale
that you're still putting in full-time hours yourself even with employees
(or at least making full-time wages), and that the value you get from their work
is more than enough to cover what you're paying them. With my current sales,
I can afford to have someone else under me, but only for about 1 day a week.

| We have not gone that route yet but maybe doing it for amount sorted and even
more pay with higher tiers of amounts or something like that
