I'm pretty sure the only way for a part to show up with a "known color" is
if that part in that color is part of a set that is produced by TLG. Otherwise
it will only be in the for sale section if available.

Known colors are parts that appear in set inventories. If you have solid evidence
of that color/variant appearing in that set, then the way to add it is to submit
an Inventory Change request to update the Undetermined Type entry in that set.
