Hello,

some of our customers are reporting problems paying with paypal. I introduced
a second "shipping" method, where a order can be placed without direct payment
(invoicing). The customer expirience is a little weird here, because the customer
has to select "PayPal (Onsite)" and select another shipping method to override
this payment method. We've to invoice the customer after that and tell them
a bank account. In the outgoing invoice message paypal is still the payment method
thats promised and there is no way to adjust the outgoing invoice for this cases
(I can just modify the default template).

However, we've found out, that 20% of our customers failed to process with
paypal. The error message is "Error communicating with paypal", after the payment
via paypal has to be processed (bank account chosen and confirmed). It's
on the last step, just before returning to bricklink. There are 80%, where it
just works fine, and 20% where it fails.

Is there in general an option for instant checkout with payment method bank transfer?
This is a wide used option in germany. A rare amount may have a debit card, but
every one has a girocard here in germany.

However, what can we do to find out what's the problem for this customers?
They all had a verified paypal account with valid bank account and are from germany.

Hi,
I have this issue with every seller, can process the checkout, then forwarding
to Paypal, Paypal login is fine and then I get an error message and the pay process
is cancelled.

Can't say anything about the PayPal issue as I don't use PayPal anymore,
but yes, you can certainly have instant checkout with bank transfer. The majority
of my orders go that way. However, Bricklink doesn't yet have any onsite
methods for doing that (they've been planning to add them for like 2 years
now). So instant checkout with bank transfer means they receive an automatic
invoice and then pay manually.

IOW, it’s not Instant Checkout, it’s only Auto-Invoice

Instant Checkout = Auto-Invoice + Onsite Payment, https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2462

Ah I see, seems Bricklink is just not consistent with their terminology in that
case, because such shipping methods are also called "Instant Checkout" when setting
them up (and I think also when checking out).
