Can anyone help with a part ID?

Isn't it just a black 1 x 4 brick with a black 1 x 1 plate on each side?

I believe so too: on the four visible studs, 3 have a pip (injection point),
so it’s either more than one part or a strange part (even large plates don’t
have so many pips).

It looks like one piece to me--the reflection on the side is smooth.

You can see the dividing lines between the plates and brick if you look close
enough. Also, there is no part that has three plastic injection points on three
out of four studs.

oh yeah, 3 inj pips seems too much even for fake legos
