You already have "Gun" in the description, to add "Rifle" just might confuse
some I know

items its easier to explain in the forum the reasons for the changes otherwise
the catmin might question why I want the word 'short' or 'long'
added and also the fact that certain words are being added so they match with
the description of exisitng similar items

Please use the standard form to submit name change requests. This topic is meant
to be used for things that cannot be handled using the standard form.
When you submit the requests, you can put all of the information you want in
the notes along with the requests.

I've had similar change requests made via the forum and so does it really
matter? I dont think we should be discouraging people from submitting changes/improvements
by making them jump through hoops?
Ask people to separate their recycling rubbish at home and they might just do
that but expect them to take it down to the recycling plant themselves and they
might not bother!
Either way why does the status for the changes say it 'Already Exists'?
I see the word 'clip' used in the description of one but not the other
I also see the word 'Tranquilizer' used in the description of one gun
but not the other?
When I searched 'Tranquilizer' I could not initially understand why I
couldn't find the gun I had in dark bluish grey it was only then that I realized
there were two versions of this style of gun i.e a long one and a shorter version
hence requesting that the words short and long also be added as up until now
I always thought there was only one style of tranquilizer gun?

We do it occasionally for those new to the environment in how things get changed
and work around here. However, for those who have been around the block and know
that there are standard forms to be used, we politely request that you use those
forms. It is much easier for us to go through change requests in a list that
we can look at quickly rather than dive into forum conversations. If we need
more information from you concerning a change request made through the standard
forms, then we know how to contact you.

Ranfy with all due respect your missing the point.... I'm not a volunteer,
I dont work for you and I dont work for Bricklink
I've simply Spotted a catalog inconsistency and suggested an improvement
and so the ONUS is on BRICKLINK/YOU not me to choose whether or not you want
to implement those improvements?
By all means ask people to use the form but dont demand it of them because catalog
suggestions of any kind should be encouraged, not discouraged and regardless
of being around the block it doesn't mean I or others are familiar or regularly
submit catalog requests and know where to locate the form quickly! I'm already
giving up my time to even mention a suggested change in the first place and so
maybe it would be more suitable to make the change and then ask the contributor
to use the form in future rather than dismissing the request until a submissions
has been made?
