I'm having issues identifying the white parts : they look like brackets but
brackets won't be compatible with the rest of the assembly (as seen on my
guessing of what it should be on the second picture)

Any suggestions ?

It definitely looks like two
 
Part No: 2436b Name: Bracket 1 x 2 - 1 x 4 with Rounded Corners
* 		2436b Bracket 1 x 2 - 1 x 4 with Rounded Corners
Parts: Bracket {White}
back to back.

depending on how far the brackets reach.

Yes ! 4 x 2436b fits perfectly ! (I feel silly that i did't think about it)
