See photo.

This looks like it's part of

Set No: 1083 Name: 50 x 50 LEGO Gray Baseplate
*
1083-2 50 x 50 LEGO Gray Baseplate
1976
Sets: Educational & Dacta: Supplemental
But it's not in it's inventory.
Is it on bricklink?

The lot we found it in has some very old 60's bricks as well as some 70s
and 80s.
A 50*50 light gray baseplate is also included, glued on a wooden plate, exactly
matching this clip.

Correct.

But it's not in it's inventory.

Yes, the inventory was wrong. I have removed it. It should include that gray
clip and the baseplate on the wooden plate, not a normal baseplate.

  Is it on bricklink?

No. But it would be great if you could add it.

Nice find.
The baseplate would also need to be added to create the inventory for that set
and also for

That set shows 2x4, 2x6 or 2x8 plates to make the clip fit... Our baseplate cannot
fit an extra plate. But let me get some better pics and add it. What category
can you suggest?

Baseplate: Baseplate

Clip: Accessory, Human Tool

And as Pontus said the plates are just 2x2...

Hi

This baseplate was made for hanging from the wall. It came with one hanger and
two 2 x 2 plates. You slid the hanger into place to the center of the base plate
and secured it with the plates to keep it from slideing sideways.

I searched but couldn't find the hanger on bricklink.

Correction: It seems like there was two hangers included, not one.
