| I am posting this now for the announced reclassification project.
This part is currently classified as Vehicle, Base. While it is a vehicle base,
I would propose it is a better fit in Aircraft category.
* | | 35106 Aircraft Fuselage 4 x 16 x 1 with 2 x 10 Recessed Center and 8 x 4 Wings with Cutaways, 9 Holes Parts: Aircraft |
There are no similar airplane parts in the Vehicle Base category while there
are some similar items in the Aircraft category, such as this:
and
There are also many other fuselage parts in the Aircraft.
NOTE TO CATALOG ADMINS: I am posting this now, because I happen to be parting
it out and it is on my mind, but let me know if I should just hold on to similar
thoughts until the reclassification project is officially launched.
Thanks for your consideration and all the hard work you do.

I agree. This should be a fairly commonsense and noncontroversial move.

Yes, please do hold onto your ideas for changes until then. It won't be
long now.

Sorry that I write it here, but want to ask a question about reclassification
project.
My storage is completely use Category for separating parts.
Will you have an ontime updating list with all changes happened?
Becouse for example we had a large problems with finding all "other" parts at
the catalog after "Other" category disapeared.
Probably a post with:
Date
Item number - Old category - New Category
Will be very helpful
Best regards!

I made this exact suggestion almost two years ago:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1113045
It seemed totally reasonable to me, but no one else really seemed to care or
notice. There was some additional discussion somewhere but I think the posts
were cancelled because some people got their feelings hurt.

I'm sorry to hear that. I did post lists of everything that was moved.
Perhaps you missed this series of posts?
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1113001
But yes, I'll probably do something similar. Or, even better, I may use
one of the fixed catalog Help pages as a temporary place to store information.
This would be better than it getting lost in the forum.

Instead of using the forum, let's do better. Click upon this link and be
impressed:

This way we can keep the information handy instead of buried in the forum. Any
suggestions for improving this newly-created page are welcomed.

I would put something at the top of that page that states that it is not currently
an official page and the below items are merely examples of what may happen.

It's great Idea!
I think we don't need so large item images there, it takes place and time
to scroll.
Probably something like a table will be better than a separate listing for each
changing?
The best for me looks like attached item of table.
No need additional words like "This part was moved from" or "The former part
title was"
I think that this info mostly will be used by sellers for fast storage changing,
I think it should be simple and smart.
Only changes shown (second photo)
How do you think?

Yes, I like what you've done there. Post the HTML coding for your version
and I can get it updated.
