I've been wondering why this is not a feature here since the beginning.

Why not send messages to every single user in bricklink, or create a notification
on their MyBrickLink page, that goes out when read, whenever there is a new message?

Some important messages are only posted in the forum. Who reads that? The usual
forum members that are already aware of it, probably. Maybe we'll get the
pleasure of redirecting members with the same problem to that lost forum thread
that Admin created.

I would say either create send messages to users, with email notifications, which
can be too intrusive, or create notifications on the MyBrickLink page that go
away once "read", or/and make the announcements more visible, with also a scroll
list of past announcements.

Sounds good?

Yes, I think a site-wide message needs to be posted stating that there may be
problems receiving invoices and other messages. Else, it may result in non-positive
feedback due to BL messaging issues.

Do you really want BL to send out emails to 260,458 registered members ?

No, I didn't think so. BL has enough problems with clearing legitimate mail,
without actually moving up to the spam level.

Then notifications within BL would make a deal

Not email. That doesn't work for everyone and is part of the problem. We
have received site-wide messages before.
