  Hello everyone,
I'm trying to check out an order since yesterday evening (MESZ, GMT+1, Germany).
I always get the message "Technical Problem". I've shut off my add-blocker,
i've deleted the whole card and tried again - no effect at all!
Does anybody know this and have a hint for me?
Thx a lot!

In Buying, Leftoverbricks writes:
Over the past four months (July-October) I placed 48 orders from which 10 outside
my own country. From those 10 orders, 2 orders were lost in the mail. That is
20% of orders lost!

Both had tracking, both last scans were somewhere at the customs in Amsterdam,
then nothing after that.
One was from Thailand, the other one from Germany (which shouldn't have make
it to the customs anyway since Germany is EU).
The sellers and I did everything possible so far to connect with the shipping
companies and Postnl, but to no avail. (I like to emphasize that I had no problems
with the sellers involved in the transactions, they were great!)

Packages get lost every time but 20% as in my case is exceptional.
It's getting stranger however.
Both orders were for VERY VERY VERY rare parts. Parts that seldom appear in a
shop because they were only in one set.

To prove this I include two screenshots from the price guide which show the rareness
of the parts I've ordered. The blue dot is me. As you can see the parts are
indeed very rare and pricey. None of the two are available in any shop in the
world.

I'm not paranoid (at least I hope I'm not) but the very coincidence of
ordering two very rare parts on BL that both were lost at Amsterdam customs makes
me think that there's more going on here.

Martin

For efficacious answers/opinions, more frame of reference would be great, i.e.
specific timelines? Unless what you're really asking is to be psychoanalyze

But no, you’re not overly paranoid. That’s how our mind fundamentally processes
thought. How we reason through concepts such as the "coincidence" which is especially
difficult for our minds to accept.

That you posted about it shows that much, imho.

really enjoy your posts, btw.

Thanks in advance

It's because that MF pack is the only one where the MF's span different
movies. The other packs have sets of 3 who appear in the same movie.

David

Thanks, David.

That doesn't quite jive, though. If it's movie assignments for the cataloging,
two of the sets are assigned to the subcategory Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

Okay, I think I understand the logic now. Thanks.

In Technical Issues, sonntagskindlei writes:
  Hello! Connected logical bugs:
- When registering for a new account, the length of the user name isn't limited,
in my case I entered sonntagskindlein
- Later, in my profile I saw it has been truncated to sonntagskindlei, which
is 15 letters (???) and it wouldn't let me add the "n" again, so I wanted
to change it to the next shorter version sonntagskind, but didn't enter my
password, so the system refused the change
- After I typed the shorter name again plus entered my password, it refused the
change again saying I could only change the name once in 30 days.

That is something that needs addressing, imho. The truncated name is not what
you applied for and should be perceived as a failed application or unsuccessful
username change. The terms of service do not specify username change attempts
within the 30 day period.

Years ago, there existed another issue with username applications, in that unused
or formerly registered usernames (including names never really used, if applied
for and then changed before settling on another) All would remain within the
system, seemingly in perpetuity. In a sense as active usernames never to be allowed
reuse by anyone again.

Don’t know if it’s still the case (been "popsicle" for 10 years now) or even
if it was initially by design. I always viewed it as a glitch, though.

Seems reasonable to me. I've shared the same thoughts (minus any concern
of competition, that is) that TLG should invest more towards this effort. Investment
in some manner, either personnel that will facilitate correct set-inventory uploads
in a timely manner, or at least hand over the needed proprietary info to folks
here (paid or volunteers) ahead of the set's global-availability. To be uploaded
and made ready for sales sooner rather than later, on what is a LEGO owned site.

Not to mention, any benefits the simple knowledge of it being "the official"
inventory, would bring to the site more broadly.

-popsicle

In Catalog, infinibrix writes:
I know people are gonna say it comes down to people contributing but at this
stage should'nt Lego themselves be having a more active role in providing
the required catalog entries and less reliant on a handful of contributors. Even
popular Star Wars sets from way back in June are still awaiting minifig entries?:-

Set No: 75314 Name: The Bad Batch Attack Shuttle
*
75314-1 (Inv) The Bad Batch Attack Shuttle
924 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2021
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Bad Batch

Set No: 75311 Name: Imperial Armored Marauder
*
75311-1 (Inv) Imperial Armored Marauder
456 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2021
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Mandalorian

Set No: 75315 Name: Imperial Light Cruiser
*
75315-1 (Inv) Imperial Light Cruiser
1311 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2021
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Mandalorian

Set No: 75316 Name: Mandalorian Starfighter
*
75316-1 (Inv) Mandalorian Starfighter
535 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2021
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars

Meanwhile Brickowl added entries for these minifigures months ago and so if you
can't buy or sell the parts here you have to do so elsewhere thereby falling
into the hands of the main competitor site!
Surely Bricklink (the now official Lego marketplace) should'nt be trailing
behind Brickowl is this regards?

Very cool rendering of the Villain, Pete. Though it leaves me wondering why the
character is a favorite of yours?

What's not to love about Cad Bane? A very well done villain character design.

There are many SW characters to "love" as you put it. What's "well done"
specifically, about this character's design in Pete's view?

Simply curious how others see things.

Yes, it’s strange it’s not automatic, especially as a seller account is an “upgrade”

As there are currently over 3700 types of sticker sheets in the BL catalog, it
might be easiest to simply plug-in the corresponding set number for the given
sticker. Then (at the top of the page) hit under “Item Consists Of" the
"Parts" activelink; the sticker sheet will be among the first items listed
in that inventory.

You can then click on the item that takes you to the "Items For Sale"
page, or you can add the sticker sheet to your "Want List" for more collective
purchasing.

No idea what happened to the barrel.

Have a look at that branch of the catalog tree, Dan. Catalog ID #162

Don't see them, myself.

For the smaller one, take a gander here as well:

Don't see it there, either.

Congrats, I clearly wouldn't have guessed (as my guesses prove!) there was
124 packs of cards!

This type of item was extra difficult to discern the amount of, when in the vase.
They sandwich together in stacks that look like single packs, even when poured
out to view.

I've placed the entire lot back into our store for sale, 124 minus two; one
for the winner and the other as a gift for a friend, 122 total.

While I am good at playing Legos with my kids and building sets but moving parts

Thanks for your consideration!

Interesting project.

Colonoscopies are not merely valuable early detection procedures for colon cancer,
but for other more common autoimmune disorders such as ulcerative colitis and
crohn's disease. Both can be diagnosed as severe and life theatening. Certainly
life altering as well.

Even with “important!”?

Maybe BL cleans the HTML to prevent tricks?

here BL writes this: (image)

but when I copy their code, there is still a blue border. Their picture + link
to BL but with a blue border

At this point, I think we would need to see what styles are being applied to
the image element, the anchor element around that, and the paragraph element
around that. You would need to use the developer tools in the browser to access
this stuff. That is the only way to see what styles are being cascaded down to
those specific elements.

I do not understand it at all. : D blue borders will stay in my store

I went into your store and looked at the code. The style for the border is being
cascaded down from a BrickLink stylesheet. This will work:

Well done, Randy!

And a more generic search:

A few Christmas-like sweaters throughout.

Saludos comunidad.

Unfortunately, the want-list feature does not allow for that. There are parameters/filters
that will narrow the effort some, but not entirely. To be able to buy all, or
most from one seller, would be the optimal goal.

But I'm sure others that are more knowledgable of the buying experience will
chime-in with further, perhaps better help.

the one on the right - Brown or Dark Brown?
Thanks a bunch.

The issue you're experiencing, is that the catalog pics need some attention.
Some are misleading. That said, it' difficult to offer certainty, given the
lighting used to take the pic (daylight or natural light is best) but I'll
try...

When taking a picture (using a smart digital camera) it may try to fidget
the colors to where it thinks they should be. The best way to keep that from
happening, is to make a little color spectrum bar (think a 1x6 plate with six
1x1 plates on it, each in a different basic color) and tuck it to one side of
the photo. That will keep the smarts on the right track.

Nita Rae

Much appreciated tip. Thanks

ship it in a very large box so the post office couldn't leave it at his house.
He could then go to the post office when his wife wasn't home and pick it
up.

I had another order from a buyer who lived less than a mile from me. My wife
knew who it was and offered to drop it off. No way, I mailed it like I would
any other order.

Pick up at post office when wife isn’t home: yep - done that!

Never understood boasting about such here in the forum? As though it's somehow
endearing behavior. If you can't be honest with your wife/husband/partner
who can you be honest with, I wonder?

As to the first row: the second in the row is in fact not Purple as the catalog
pic might indicate, but rather Light Purple. Found in one minifig (had a mountain
of them)

Minifig No: hp060 Name: Albus Dumbledore - Light Nougat
*
hp060 (Inv) Albus Dumbledore - Light Nougat
Minifigures: Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban
The last cape in that row is Violet. Found in a couple of early Harry Potter’s

Minifig No: hp051 Name: Harry Potter - Gryffindor Stripe Torso, Dark Bluish Gray Legs, Lilac Cape
*
hp051 (Inv) Harry Potter - Gryffindor Stripe Torso, Dark Bluish Gray Legs, Lilac Cape
Minifigures: Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban
The second row, you seem to be on target with reddish and dark. Though some of
the earlier Browns were very dark: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1311335

Many of the catalog's cape pics are lacking. In other words, look beyond
the catalog pics for color ID. Again, it's a longstanding issue of misleading
color representation.

Pretend that you yourself is one of these regular customers, and that you receive
for example a coupon maybe 10 % next order. You’ll be happy of course and think
that’s great. But then – if I as a seller don’t manage to follow this up in the
future – that coupon may as well backfire.

Let’s say you buyer placed 5 orders and then receive a coupon. After the next
five orders the buyer will expect another coupon and if they don’t get it, they
will start questioning that fact. “Do I need to order more now to get next coupon?”,
“Have my orders become to small for getting coupon?”, “Are my business not wanted/needed
anymore?” And so on. So as a seller – If I do anything to praise a buyer and
give some extras – than I also need to keep track of that and continuously do
the same or similar actions to keep that customer happy.

So I don’t. Ever. But I stick to my business model which likely are the very
reason my buyers found my store from the beginning and keeps coming back: I maintain
a certain inventory in volume and type of parts, I ship promptly as my buyers
got used to fast handling, I keep up a certain level of quality which means
that a lot (A LOT!) of Lego never hit the store shelves, I pack with the unpacking
buyer in mind and I work very hard to have an accurate inventory listed.

Others may have different business models but the sense of this is that sticking
to your own business model will probably help you keeping your returning buyers
that found your particularly store.

And here is the story:
A couple of years ago I had relatives on visit from a long way over the weekend.
One of my relatives got interested in my Lego Business and as I had a couple
of orders to pull on that Saturday I asked him to join me to my “Legoland” and
help with pulling the orders. When doing so he noticed that one of the orders
was from a buyer he actually know – not as a close friend but as a friend-friend
from way back. This was a frequently returning buyer to my store. And that the
buyer lived in a small village on my relative’s way home the day after (Sunday)
some 350 km from my store location.

He then suggested that he could deliver the package on his way home – and we
thought what a service! Delivered straight home day after ordering on a Sunday!
Said and done – my relative took the package and left the next day. I now looked
forward to a massive positive feedback for this one!

Some months passed and I heard nothing. After about 6 month my relative and I
met again and I asked about the delivery of the Lego order – did all went well
as I haven’t received any feedback or heard anything?

Well this what happened: He drove up to the buyer’s house and rang the doorbell
without any reaction. Then he heard voices from the back garden and walked round
the house. It showed that the buyer had some of a get to gathering in the garden
with colleagues and friends – not a regular party but some barbecue and hanging
out. My relative walks up to the buyer and says with a big smile: “-Here is your
Lego order – directly delivered from Gothenburg!” My relative told me that the
buyer looked clearly uncomfortable with that situation – apparently having to
explain to his guest what has just happened.

That buyer has never sins ordered from my store. And that’s my story of an example
of me trying to do something extra for my buyer that backfired!

/Niclas

Wonderful anecdote! Thanks. I wish more would share like this here. It's
enjoyable reading.

Btw, were it me barbecuing in the backyard with colleagues and friends, your
relative would of had a cold brew in hand toot sweet, and been asked to stay
for some food. Who knows, maybe even a hug depending on how many drinks I had
at that point. It just might've been your relative looking "uncomfortable"
in other words

As to the repeat buyer question: I do nothing to show my appreciation beyond
that of giving the best service that I can provide, top-to-bottom. A good percentage
of orders we receive are returning buyers, anyway.

Added thought: I've found that there are few happier or friendlier, than
Swedes gathered for food and drink outdoors in the sunshine. But I guess there
are exceptions.

my place? Keep in mind feedback reflects your own experience with the transaction.
Anything you want to post is fair by definition, as it is your own experience.

I can see your point, but don't agree 100% with it because sure, maybe the
shipping time wasn't positive, but it isn't fair to blame that negative
aspect on the seller because they had no control over that point. Just like it
wouldn't be fair if the package arrived completely destroyed because the
delivery man backed over it and the buyer leaves negative feedback to the seller.
The seller had nothing to do with it.

That's true but my point was that feedback isn't about the seller, it's
about the community. Sure the seller is not to blame, but if what you get significantly
deviates from what you could expect, it's relevant info for future buyers
to know. I'm thinking as feedback simply as a tool for doing that, not for
blaming.

Sorry, I don't agree that feedback isn't about the seller. Of course
it is about the seller, because the seller wears the negative feedback, and the
seller's feedback score is affected negatively.
It is about the community also, but feedback given based on the actions of third
parties, or natural disasters, etc. rather than about the seller and the service
the seller provided, provide no helpful information to the community at all.
I don't agree that a buyer's or seller's subjective expectations
are relevant at all. They are irrelevant, because again, the seller does not
usually have control of the buyer's expectations. If I order from you, but
have an unrealistic expectations about what you can provide, how can that be
relevant to the community? It isn't and it gives the community of buyers
no guidance about what to expect from the seller.

Well put.

shouldn't the images at least be the right colour? Currently (at the previous

coral coloured image.

Thoughts?

A fix that I always assumed they'd get around to at some point. But you know
what assume means, right? Make an ass out of u and me. Steer
clear of assumptions

Not a high priority fix, as I see it, but needed nonetheless and about time.

A good suggestion.

As to my input: having never purchased a single CMF since the product-line’s
inception in 2010, I’m probably among the least knowledgable of this product.
That said, I had assumed that the typical 60 full-box contents for that series,
was something as such?

Six per box of the Commons: constable, yeti, welder, mountain climber - Four
per box of the gingerbread man, barbarian, lady robot, scientist, holiday elf,
evil mech - And two per box or the Rares (whatever that means): diner waitress,
grandma, pretzel girl, island warrior, saxophone player, scarecrow.

Left out the salient bit -

... wouldn't then the 30 half-box consist of equal product-dispersion, just
half the amount of each?

Though I'm learning as you are here.

Still learning

RATS! I was ballparking the math and had 471, but I noticed something with that
vessel I didn't know how to correct for.

Stay on that path, you'll increase your odds. The "vessel" was disclosed
in previous contests as being five inches in diameter. We use the same vase for
contests here. That should help your math some

Initiate one of the onsite payment methods and you're good to go.

Simplified, it has to do with sales tax compliance on today's BL.

Otherwise, upon first entering your store most of us Yankees are hit with this

And if for some reason a shopper misses that banner, when viewing their loaded

  Hi!

I've a user who is asking for customs fraud (not including an invoice) because
it's a gift.
It's nice that he gifts the set (EUR 75) to someone, but I don't gift

How do I avoid negative feedback?
I don't want to issue a NPB.
And I also don't want to force him to buy the set with normal customs process
(which I will use of course).

Point #16: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=79
I’m fairly certain the admin would remove any such feedback if presented with
the why's. Let's just say, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Customs fraud is as it sounds, and not to be taken lightly. That said, I've
found that most are not fully cognizant of what they're asking, either in
regards to the applicable statutes or where the lines might be drawn, i.e. what
constitutes fraud in this regard.

The copy n’paste form-response I’ve used successfully for a few years, I no longer
have around (stopped shipping abroad a couple of years ago) Though, I don’t think
you’ll have issue, Michael. Be solicitous but resolute: offer to cancel without
issue (the phrase “without issue” is key) or if they'd like, continue
to process the order in a straight-forward manner. Have them make the call.

You’re thinking is correct, it’s much about the comms.

I have a Queen Amidala hair piece but I suspect it is fake as it has no lego
markings on the inside. Does anyone know if this piece has the lego logo etc
or if known fakes exist?

Rather be certain before listing this one.

Thanks

I don’t recall seeing the LEGO brand from our set partouts. I’d confirm that
for you if that inventory of ours wasn't long-gone. I would add that from
my experience, many of those highly painted/printed parts out of China, had other
than the LEGO brand within their molds, yet authentic.

George_Lucy had a mountain of them at one time, maybe they still have some laying
around and would be willing to assuage your concern by checking, if you don't
get a definitive answer here: https://www.bricklink.com/feedback.asp?u=George_Lucy

Should I win; I’d like you to give it to any kid you see at the LEGO store on
your next visit - make your best judgment as to which kid seems worthy 🤓

Very nice! But I haven't been to a LEGO store in a very long time, and don't
plan to visit one anytime soon, either.

I get the sentiment nonetheless, and will give it to another hereabouts. Thanks

I know they are 4x1 white bricks one box is opened.

I'll add that I was speaking more broadly, of the rationale used. But in
the specific example I gave: empirically, it’s a weapon.

Categorically, the droid type (droideka) was never given personality or traits
beyond that of a machine. Though some animism was attributed to the Droidekas
within the Canon, I believe?

I just don’t know. It’s gotta be tough for the catalog folks.

There appear to be, an atypical number of people who are looking for a new way
to prosper/survive in the current economy. They are ready to abandon all that
they have done before, and strike out into uncharted territory. They come here
to ask, like some of us are going to bequeath upon them wisdom from the mount.

I am reminded of a line from a move, but the name of the movie escapes me at
present ...

You want the truth ? You can't handle the truth !

Selling LEGO can be profitable, but there are sacrifices to be made (in both
time and living accommodations). Trying to convey the true picture, to someone
newly arrived, could be like dashing their hopes. I wish them well, but it isn't
always going to work (like they dream it might).

Always enjoy your posts. Thanks.

I always cringe when I see Bricklink users request and dispense tax advice to
other users; much of it is utterly wrong or speculative, seems like the last
thing you should ask for free advice from a non tax professional.

We get asked at least once a month by new local sellers if they can come over
to see how our shop is set up and how we manage such large inventory (most of
them condition making a purchase on such visits) we politely explain that our
shop is not set up for walk in traffic (insurance wise) and we run it from a
residential property (that is licensed for our business purposes) and explain
that just like they might not let a stranger into their residence- neither do
we. Being a store that pays an honest wage, spending time mentoring a seller
is also costly for us though we have given advice when asked by sellers we’re
friendly with and never given tax advice or any advice on a subject we’re not
familiar with.

Long story short; definitely agree with your sentiments but would also add that
one who requests advice from a stranger is at least 50% to blame if it backfired.
That being said, many wise and established individuals have fallen victim to
the lure of a seemingly well put together smart individual that they never vetted.
Ever heard of Elizabeth Holmes ? 😂

Always great input. Thanks.

You sound incredulous, as though you’re greeting this behavior as revelation?

Your post actually exemplifies their marketing efficacy, which they would no
doubt beam with accomplishment, in reading. Don’t misunderstand, these have been
to some degree, their SOP for years. But not nearly as concerted and calculated
as it has been in recent years leading up to today. It works, so double-down,
double-down and…

My advise to you, Dreamer, would be to let their ploys suck air. As elegant and
sophisticated their methods may be, why feed it? Especially considering all of
the other things this wondrous world has to offer, instead?

That the company had admirable values at one time, is undeniable. Especially
considering their size. But as it stands now, they're bankrupt of any such
guidance. In that place is projection. The projection of pseudo-values found
in today’s progressive movement and more broadly in the global politic, wherein
"projecting" takes precedence over actual caring and concern. Watching businesses
and enterprises stumbling over themselves to do the same, I could not care less.
But somehow it evokes a melancholy in me, witnessing TLG go that same route.
Knowing how they once were, I suppose

Just one's opinion.

Btw, I know all of the rationale expressed: supply chain, Covid, miscalculations,
scalpers, market variables, etc, etc. I've heard them all, ad nauseam. So
go ahead if you must and continue with them. Human nature being what it is

Hey everyone! In my opinion and please do let me know what you think there should
be some rewards for people who catalogue and inventory for the site. Since they
are the ones really keeping the site alive. They both help the sellers and the
buyers which result in more sales for the site. As a seller, I am also willing
to contribute to the rewards these people should deservedly get.

It’s an idea that’s fundamentally a good one, if done right. There’s been those
here in the forum over the years, willing to pay members to do the catalog-thing.
With some offering to send a copy of the new set to expedite the process. In
other words, free set plus pay.

Understandable for those that are here solely to turn-a-buck, and that make sizable
investments in volume set purchases, I did much the same in our heyday. Though
I never used the forum to seek the willing, I did however contact members directly.
To then used the same members (if performed well) with subsequent sets thereon.
In other words, a standing offer that paid well. But that was a decade ago, I’m
certain motivations for such have change since.

For those of us that bought up sets where we could (you know, the evil ones)
having that investment sitting idle while waiting for the ability to realize
some return, unsurprisingly rubbed some the wrong way. Personally, I took the
attitude from the very beginning here on BL, that if I’m gonna spend time and
money doing this, it’s gonna been painless and maybe even fun. So I avoided those
types of anxious thoughts by moving any such purchases into storage for the longterm
position.

I also misread it, as though there were a comma after the determiner No,

Interesting that several had that take, though. Seeing what’s not there, that

I misread it too, then stopped and thought "they're smarter than it sounds.
Is this a language or punctuation misunderstanding ?". It was, so then I got
it, and confirmed my original guess.

Nita Rae

I also misread it, as though there were a comma after the determiner No,
making the needed “edit” as I saw it, the omitted adverb *not, as in
"not meant to come apart"

Interesting that several had that take, though. Seeing what’s not there, that
is. Different paths to roughly the same destination, or maybe it just illustrates
how we have an awful lot of preconceptions, seeing what we want or expect to
see

Don't I know it!

I get it, something to post about. But more often than not, such posts lead to

If it’s actual concern or curiosity, contact the member directly. Doing

Hope that "someone" isn't the taxman

Of all the knickknacks I've seen used as promotional items over the years,
pens are at least useful and tend to be at-hand to be passed around for use by
others - further promoting

  Hi all,

I've tried to find previous forums about this but with no luck. I have some
parts I'm interested in being shipped to another country so they can be sent
with other items to my country. I noticed I can change the shipping address but
not the country when in the checkout phase. My account lets me change all my
shipping details but I only want a few orders sent not to me so I'm worried
that if I change my shipping country and change it back, it might raise red flags
and have my account suspended. Is it possible to change my country address?

I don’t believe buy-accounts are handled as stringently as sell-accounts in this
regard. There is indication and even precedence peppered throughout the forum
beyond the quick grabs I've linked below:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1276223

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1264926

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1257474

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1253276

Perhaps wait some, though. Further input from others, maybe even an admin, should
be forthcoming. I it's a good question that you're no doubt not alone
in wanting answers to. The general topic is brought up in various guises and
scenarios, from time to time here.

parts, they are clone brand.

Ahh! Okay, I had no idea. Let me see if can pull my foot from my mouth, now...

Apologies to the OP (finishtheset) Understanding better now, I full agree with
your stance and use of the term "knockoff" Again, I'm sorry.

I personally purchased the parts for the one on rebrickable as well, along with
the minifig stand that attaches to it. You can send the whole inventory to bricklink
as a wanted list. Heartbricker has all the parts in one shop and is an excellent
store.

“I would rather spend 3 times the amount and get the real deal”

Narrow-minded comes to this mind. Maybe broaden that thinking somewhat?

If the purpose or concept of an “original” item is taken and made better, why
then denigrate it with such terms as “knockoff” Especially as applied to what
are often product design-afterthoughts such as stands for models.

Some of the acrylic aftermarkets for that particular model are gorgeous, displaying
the model’s attributes in a far superior manner than the original, irrespective
price.

One might think of themselves in terms as "purist" in any field, without wisdom
or virtue In other words, there are grays in all areas of thinking. At least
contemplate them... https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1299474

Just food for thought

You're welcome.

I'm in a bad part of the world regarding shipping so it seems

There are quite a few veteran BL store owners in Belgium. In having gotten to
know a few over the years, some I'm sure would be receptive to helping you
to structure your shipping terms, if asked. At least with some pointers.

I'll offer one bit of unambiguous advise: keep that great attitude while
selling here, and you'll do great.

So you 'bought' a 69gr piece, and bricklink chose to put it in a box
with S&H for almost 50 bucks?
Thats strange as this probably might fit in an envelope that is only a fraction
of the shipping cost...
I have both box and envelope shipping methods enabled.. i need to check this.

I assume this is what you are referring to?

Not necessarily. In fact, not referring to anything other than simply responding
to this portion of your request "I would like to know if there is something fundamental
that i am missing that prevents or discourages people from visiting" and
"or my shipping method is not quite what it should be?"

This item in question

Set No: 41304 Name: Puppy Treats & Tricks

45 Parts, 2017
Sets: Friends

You make the call how to best structure S&H for your store, too many unknowns
for me to do so. I'm simply pointing out what would "discourage" me as a
buyer.

But like I said, others will no doubt offer advise/help including towards this
question. The BL forum is heavy with very smart members that are also altruistic
with their hard-earned knowledge.

Just getting the ball rolling for you here in the forum.

Could you please have a look in my shop and give me some pointers how to improve
my sales?

I know the basics;
- competitive pricing
- keep adding inventory
- lower prices to boost sales

I would like to know if there is something fundamental that i am missing that
prevents or discourages people from visiting.
I am very new in this, but eager to learn and improve.
Maybe my prices are too high or my shipping method is not quite what it should
be? Please keep in mind that my shop is located in Belgium

Any comments or suggestions are welcome, as myy main goal is to learn and to
be successfull in this business.

Thank you for all your support in this, much appreciated!

Best regards,

Great attitude, btw. Welcome to what is wonderful platform to sell.

That said, I just popped into your shop and loaded the first thing that grab
my attention (69g single small item) which gave the Estimated S&H Cost shown
