Now that Lego owns bricklink can I request this set be inventoried and it will
get done? I’m wanting to part out 5-10 of them and have been checking for months
but it hasn’t been inventoried. I don’t know if I need to offer someone $20 to
inventory it or what to do so that’s why I’m here posting

All finished! The admins approved in less than 12 hours by the way.

Good luck with the part out! There are lots of great parts in this set.

Jen

Set No: 75936 Name: Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage
*
75936-1 (Inv) Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage
3096 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2019
Sets: Jurassic World: Jurassic Park

Awesome! Message me and I will send the bounty

Also by the way I really wanted it as well for the minifigures and someone told
me it was already in the catalog. I never realized the figs could be available
for sale but the parts weren’t. I’m excited to see the set. Thanks again!

No bounty needed! It gave me an excuse for a lovely set to build to take my mind
off our social distancing.

Jen

Yea it’s awesome! I wish I could find time to build it! But everytime I start
I just get busy with other things. I started the UCS imperial shuttle about 8
or 9 years ago and still haven’t completed it. Last set I actually finished was
the 50 years on track because it was a bunch of micro builds so was easier for
me to find time to start and finish one.
Thanks again very much!!!!

even if you do it and I pay you there is no guarantee the admin staff will even
approve it. That’s just the risk I have to take.

?? There is no risk whatsoever. Admin approve all set inventories that are correct.
And they help submitters to make an inventory correct. I am not sure where you
are coming from in all this. Give me a couple days to complete the inventory
and you will see that the system works just fine.

Jen

Okay I was under the impression that the admins have a bunch of inventories and
they just approve them whenever they want.

I’m excited to see the system work! Thank you I know several people will be happy
to be able to buy the figures. Although I think coronavirus has probably slowed
down a lot of people’s discretionary spending.

Thanks Jen

how much profit you make with 80 employees ? i have to pay 50€ per houre they
working for me . if all your workers make 30 minits over time I think you have
made your inventory .

You pay your employees 50€ an hour for bricklink work?

I don`t have employees for my bricklink shop , I do all this in my free time
. I have payd 50€ for an elektricien and when he stop his job I need 2day`s with
2 person to remove all the wrong placed cable`s . min salary in Belgium is 16€/h
, for every houre a employee work you have to pay 100% to the goverment and you
have to pay 10% insurance . so every houre your employee work for you it kost
you 36€ .

if you are honest and calculated the time that you are here on the forum and
you had used that time to inventory that set then you still had time for drinking
a beer

No. I couldn’t have. I’m on the forum rarely. This is I believe the only thing
I posted in 2020. I wouldn’t enjoy my time doing inventory for a set. That’s
why i offered a bounty. It’s probably pointless anyways as I paid my seller fees
right after I saw my account suspended. Contacted support 3 times and no response.
Maybe they are super busy. I really don’t know. All I do know is I have no interest
in doing inventory for a set. I will always offer to pay someone to do it if
there is a willing person to help. In the last 5 years I think I’ve asked 3-4
times on the forum for help to inventory a set.

Tonight I had time to have a beer and play some cards in the market so tonight
was a fun relaxing night

Jen

I figured by now it would be pretty instant for inventories to get listed with
lego now owning this site. I’m hoping this site isn’t still using volunteers
to do inventory

I wondering what your thought process is on this subject. What does the recent
acquisition have to do with the speed at which inventories are completed on BrickLink?

My thought process is that the Lego Group owns bricklink and could potentially
instantly upload all inventories of sets that are released. You from what I understand
are now employed by Lego so I assume you would know more about what the capabilities
are.

But maybe it’s just going to take some cash to fix the situation. Maybe I need
to offer 40$ or 100$ for someone to inventory the set. You can call it a side
job or a bounty or something along those lines. I had thought that the Lego group
would have helped in this area but I guess inventories still rely on volunteers.
I really have no clue but I’m willing to pay someone to do it if someone wants
to make some cash.

Well I would obviously see what’s the lowest price I can get it done for. Hopefully
20$ or 40$. Even still I realize that I would have to wait for an admin to approve
it. I’m just trying to help myself and the community. I’m
Not looking for a debate or argument

Sorry you feel so negative about all this. Our system works with volunteers and
the LEGO group could not provide all the necessary info for a good inventory.
Just look at the differences between our inventories and Brickset's if you
need some examples. No pattern names, no minifigs, no part variations, no sticker
sheets, no extras. Anyway, you posted that you needed an inventory and someone
offered to do it. How bad can things be?

Take care,
Jen

It’s excellent. I don’t know why it’s the same people for years always chimning
in with the same response. I don’t know why it needs to be a debate. I don’t
know how my seller status is relevant or if I have the set I should do it myself.
That always seems to be response, “do it yourself”, which isn’t helpful when
I’m clearly offering to pay for someone else to take on the job if they want.

Besides that though I’ve been seeing a lot of sets uploaded almost daily and
I had assumed Lego had hired someone to do inventories all the time. I assumed
that with the great benefits Lego is now providing their bricklink employees
that one of the requirements would be to make sure inventories are always done.

But anyways all I’m asking for is if someone had time and wanted $20 to do it
then great. If no one wants to do it then I would offer 30$ etc. That being said

Why not pay yourself $20 to inventory this set?

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvAdd.asp

Because I have to worry about paying my 80 full time employees....

And how exactly are you going to sell the parts from this set with a suspended
store?

I don’t really sell and all of my payments are up to date. I already contacted
support yesterday. I guess they will get to my request when they have time.

I sell millions of sorted new and used parts to sellers here on bricklink and
the Jurassic park set is one I really want to part out for the figures for myself
and others I know and sell the rest

Well, if you really meant what you said in your other post ("I’m just trying
to help myself and the community.") and you have the set on hand, what is stopping
you from helping yourself and the community by submitting the inventory to BrickLink
yourself? I just don't understand why people will complain about an inventory
not being on BrickLink when the inventory is sitting right in front of them wrapped
up in a box. Actually, I do understand.

I thought I explained it well enough. I own a business with 80 full time employees.
My time is better spent making deals and growing my business. I’m sorry you don’t
understand that.

I’m simply offering money to solve a problem that I have no time to fix myself.
If I had the free time to inventory the set myself I would spend that time doing
something else.

Fantastic! Does that mean that everyone is now in place and the inventory submission
backlog is next on the to-do list?

We are not all in place just yet, but we will be *very* shortly. And, yes, the
inventory submission backlog will be the first thing I tackle when I return in
a day or two.

Cheers,
Randy

Thank you!!

Could a new store not be " limited " to use PayPal as the only accepted medium
for payment?.

I was thinking about that, but how could that be enforced?

Shaun

Fairly simply -- only allow that option to be added (Paypal On Site payments)
for new sellers.

True...but couldn't a scammer just put something in his store terms saying,
"I also accept cash, money orders, Western Union..."? And oh gee, PayPal doesn't
seem to be working, how about this payment method...?

I do like the idea if it could be enforced.

Except that Paypal *will* be working. When a store has On-Site Paypal as the
payment type, there is automatically a "Pay" link in several places. They buyer
just needs to click that, and they are paying by Paypal.

I have an idea I want to pitch. Ok a single vigilante is frowned upon, as Thor
pointed out that is too much power for one person to have. But how about as
a group?

What do people think about voting on scammer stores to have their inventory bought
out. Say someone spots a suspicious store like 72chipjava and proposes that we
vote on buying his inventory out. If we get mostly yes votes totaling over 10
or so then we act on it and buy his inventory so no one gets screwed out of their
money.

I think this is a horrible idea. Instead of one vigilante you want a gang of
vigilantes? If it is wrong for one vigilante to do this why is it OK for ten
vigilantes to do this?

I don't like this sort of mob mentality. I have seen innocent people wrongly
accused by mobs here in the forum and elsewhere.

IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO BE SELF-APPOINTED POLICEMEN SHUTTING DOWN STORES MERELY
BECAUSE WE THINK THEY ARE SUSPICIOUS. THAT IS BRICKLINK'S JOB. Our job is
to report suspected wrongdoing. It is then up to BrickLink to take action IF
THEY FEEL ACTION IS WARRANTED. BrickLink has more information than we do. We
should also keep encouraging BrickLink to take more proactive members.

I know it is frustrating that BL often appears slow to act. But did you ever
think that rather than being slow to act BL already reviewed the store in question
and found nothing to warrant closure? BL does not announce the results of these
reviews. So how do we know BL did not already check out the store in question?
Don't automatically assume BL is not acting and that you can therefore act
on your own.

Thor fosterbengoshi u little homo surfer boy you are having all your buddy's on bricklink buy my items to damage our account so your the SCAMMER HERE punk.. Everyone listen here I have 10 orders who every buyer has just showed me that this clown and all his buddy's are the SCAMMERS!!! See there so worried about new buyers than why in the hell you opening up so many different accounts and buying items from me and leaving bad feedback???? Everyone email me I have the list of names of all these clowns !! See if you want to stop the scammers you have to stop yourself before it will stop that's the way it works . See being a scammer and a follower it's a chain reaction. I have 100% PROOF you people are the SCAMMERS I will be plastering it all over the web !! If you people would use your damn heads and worry about yourself and not others you might do much better???? See if you no how scammers work you must be one yourself proven fact.

Marc.

Bricklink doesn't even pay for full time admins to add sets to the catalog
which then sellers can list pieces then bl collects their fees. So the odds of
them paying someone to monitor every new store set up us never going to happen.
Im sure they could finding some volunteers willing to do it for free though!!
