I use another website to track my overall (loose and in sets) parts inventory;
BL is just not designed to do so efficiently.
That said, I also have maintained separate wanted lists here on BL for parts
that I've received, for a specific MOC or custom set: when the parts arrive,
I simply copy-and-paste from the want list to the "received" want list, and then
remove them from the want list. When all parts have arrived I now have a list
of them all for that custom build.

Based on picture of the polybag, both decorated 4744 parts should be the "tiger face" brick with whiskers on the decoration (the "lion face" brick decoration has no whiskers).

If group A feels strongly that it should be changed, and group B feels strongly

Seeing as the vast majority of parts in the light flesh color are used for heads
from licensed themes portraying a character, actress, or actor with light flesh
skin tone, I fail to see the problem.
Obviously in real life, skin tones are a set of continuous data instead of discrete,
but one of the trade-offs of creating the licensed characters out of plastic
at a feasible cost is to standardize skin tones into a few discrete values and
apply a 'best fit' method to the continuous data.
Also, thanks for adding the extra key stroke by making a 5 letter color into
a 6 letter color. Can't wait to type 'NOUGAT' a bunch of times. PEACH
would have been better...

As "Nougat" is the official TLG color name for those colors, it makes sense to
me...why keep confusing the LEGO fans by always using different color names than
what the manufacturer uses? Just sayin'...

The box pictures show 4081b ("thick ring"). The instructions show 4081a ("thin ring"). Based on the release date for this set, I believe that the 4081b version is correct, as the thin ring version had been retired by then.

Perhaps you could investigate the situation of how this part came in sets? Look
for sealed contents (photo or video) of some of the nine sets in which the assembly
appeared. I checked the instructions for one of the sets just now and it did
not show the part being assembled (meaning it probably came assembled for that
set).
Let us know what you find out. If you can verify that it came assembled in two
or three of the nine sets, then I think we could be confident it came assembled
in all of them and correct them all.

I know that when I bought and new, these rack winders were
assembled in the box. I've never seen them disassembled in the wild.

Bricks with the split tubes like this are older, usually from the 60's/70's.
I'm not sure if this part number has an "old" variant, but for the 3001's
and 3002's, these split tubes are classified along with the other 3001old
and 3002old parts. You have a very vintage piece there!

Maybe it's time to put in a system similar to eBay's, where only the
last 12 months of feedback figure into the % and your rating. It may mask some
unpleasantness from your initial subpar years of dealings on the site, but if
a seller has nothing but positive ratings for the past 12 months, it's a
good indication that they turned a corner from their misspent BL youth. It also
forces a "what have you done for me lately" attitude on the site; those mega-sellers
with 100K feedback whose customer service efforts are starting to slip will see
their recent feedback % start to similarly go downhill (or alternately, this
will wipe out a portion of negative feedback from years past from those buyers
who will never be satisfied no matter how good the service...).
Pros and cons, just like any change, but might be something to consider.
