Hi, i got a huge problem. Every time when I open the studio app, home screen
doesn't show at all. instead of showing up, it immediately redirects me or
opens a new file. This does not happen when an update is available for the app,
then the home page is displayed and then everything is fine, but when I close
the app and reopen it everything is different again, the home page does not appear
and opens a new file instead. The palette that appears after this is very strange,
only some parts appear in each selection (eg there are only 10 pieces in the
brick section, also in the minifigure head section where only about 8 heads appear,
even the basic pieces are do not occur in some places). This seems abnormal to
me! Everything works properly on my mom’s computer, but I shouldn’t use it anymore
because it has too little space. i know you will say i I have to delete the app
and reload it, i did that too but it doesn't work. Maybe you know what could
be the problem? cause I can't work then. And i know that maybe this is not
the right place to ask, where should i send my message then?

Thanks! The reply would be amazing!

  Hello dear community

I have the following problem :
It was ordered from me and not paid - I have written to the buyer several times
and each time he says something different.

Now it is so that I cancel this order but I'm afraid that the buyer gives
me then a negative rating?

Is this avoidable?

Thanks for your help

Start the NPB-process: https://www.bricklink.com/retractOrder.asp

Thank You but i m asking for a negativ rating after i do this ?

can he then rate me negatively ?

Yes, but only after completing the NPB process.
See https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=14

I think the ability of the buyer to give feedback (any kind) is removed the day
after the NPB is completed.

If you start the NPB and the buyer pays (NPB is not completed), buyer can give
any feedback.

kind regards

No, the print is different. Part 2431pb159 ends with yellow triangles in the
lower corners, while 2431pb477 ends with black triangles in the lower corners.
Also the detail in the tow rings is different.

In Selling, kurigan writes:
The question "what's my inventory system like?" Well, super basic. Boxes
with numbers on shelves, full of sandwich bags, also numbered, with little bags
of parts and a ticket with the part number and piece count on it. In remarks
go the location numbers such as B001B01 for bin one bag one. Like colors and
parts group together, so, B001 through B004 are all black, but you'll find
most plates in B002. It's cheap and efficient until orders turn in to 100
items out of 99 lots. Lots over 100 are grouped in 100 packs, sometimes 50. Special
consideration is given to parts and lots to big for the sandwich bag system.
Primarily Well Played is a used brick store, but new stuff, still in packaging,
has come our way and been entered into inventory accordingly.

Current break down is:
Total 221,394 items in 13,872 lots in 254 categories.
My inventory total value (Original Price): US $20,057.94
My inventory total value after sale (Category Average): US $20,057.94

Here pictures of the system in place, sorry for the mess. It's been a heck
of year and spiffing up the office for photos was pretty low on the priorities
list.

Dave

Hi Dave,

on the assumption that the numbering on the boxes is some coding for the storage
location in the "remarks" of the items, you could probably inprove some by rearranging
the boxes.

In the ideal situation, you only want to walk each aisle once and the whole storage
area in a continues route. As I notice in your photo's, your system forces
you to walk up and down the aisle.

For example the B001 - B042 aisle. If an order has items in every box, you will
walk the aisle 3 times up and 2 (or 3) times down:
1. Pulling parts from B001 to B016
2. Walk back
3. Pulling parts from B017 to B032
4. Walk back
5. Pulling items from B033 to B044
6. Walk back or forward to the next aisle with storage location B045 (or any
location after B044)

If you rearrange the boxes like this, you only walk the aisle once.
B001 - B007 - B013 - B019 - B025 - B031 - B037 - B041
B002 - B008 - B014 - B020 - B026 - B032 - B038 - B042
B003 - B009 - B015 - B021 - B027 - B033 - B039 - B043
B004 - B010 - B016 - B022 - B028 - B034 - B040 - B044
B005 - B011 - B017 - B023 - B029 - B035 - HERE THE LARGE
B006 - B012 - B018 - B024 - B030 - B036 - BROWN CARDBOARD BOX

Ideally, the storage rack with the S001-S027 should contain a sequential code
to the B044 box. And so on.

If you have storage on both sides of the aisle, you can even consider to have
to codes sequential on the left and right, so your routine is: Walk a step -
pick left - pick right - walk a step - pick left - pick right, until the end
of the aisle.

Many thanks that makes sense- I would have to change the original ends of the
frog card stand over as they are blank ends at the moment. Thanks again .
I did't know there were other mini figures available - cheers

I think you can remove the original ends, they also have an axle connection to
the center piece. You can insert the extra pieces between the center piece and
the original ends.

The publicly naming and shaming, based on your experience with 1 transaction
and a neutral feedback. Normally buyers/ sellers are only called out by name/
username in the forum if there is a pattern or a lot of people with negative
experiences (like scam sellers / fake buyers).

I see it is a new buyer, who probably isn't aware of the importance some
sellers give to their (perfect) feedback score and how the bricklink feedback
system behaves different than feedback on other online marketplaces.

The retaliatory negative feedback you left to this new buyer is in my opinion
also a little overreacting and you might reconsider it.

My reasoning is that no matter the reason, this buyer caused them enough trouble as it is and it probably isn't worth it to risk a similar outcome in a subsequent
order from them.

Don't forget that the issue was initiated by the seller shipping an incomplete
order. From the first post of the seller I see no indication that buyer is looking
for trouble, only that he want the missing items and used the most formal way
to communicate.
I think it is unfair to stoplist a buyer for using the formal route to request
correct fulfilment of his order.
Since the NSS was trickered by buyer because of missing items, I think it is
unlikely to have a similar issue with a subsequent order. Unless seller is again
shipping an incomplete order.

In Technical Issues, kaat writes:
As long as EU buyers see the price including their VAT % all the time. As you
mentioned, it's not common nor allowed to list prices excluding VAT and then
add VAT in the end on the grand total. This will lead to compliance issues and
angry buyers, because they are not used to it in the EU. So, in the new situation
when I list an item for 1.00 euro (excluding VAT), a German buyer should see
1.19 euro and a Dutch buyer should see 1.21 euro, etc.

I think it is a little more complicated: A VAT-registered seller who stays below
the yearly €10k threshold (for the company, so all sales on all platforms together)
for non-domestic EU sales is supposed to charge his domestic VAT% for all EU
sales. He can choose to use the new regulations (dutch: Unieregeling) and charge
the local VAT% of the buyer, but needs to arrange it with the local tax agency
and he needs to do a lot more administration.

So in your example: for a small Dutch store (below €10k EU sales) the German
buyer should also see 1.21 euro (base price + 21% Dutch VAT). For a large Dutch
store (above €10k EU sales) the German buyer should see 1.19 euro (base price
+ 19% German VAT).

Does someone know what the problem is?

Hello all, Im the Canadian buyer in this situation. I've since added 2 more
items to the cart, instr. manuals, and now it wont register any shipping options.
first time it gave me a message 'incomplete item information' or it could
have been 'missing item information'?

It might be that with the extra items, your cart wont fit in any of the shipping
methods to Canada. Specifically with instruction manuals, the default shipping
dimensions might be incorrect (BL defaults to box size, for larger sets it thus
thinks the manual is very big). This dimensions can be corrected in the database,
and sellers can also overrule them with their own dimensions.

Don't know if that is here the case (which instructions are it), or that
the seller has some strict dimensional limitations on shipping to Canada.

Is IBAN an onsite payment method?

Jen

It is possible in theory to incorporate IBAN into an onsite solution, but apparently
it is very difficult and potentially unstable. So we consider IBAN to be offsite
only.

Difficult and potentially unstable? How so? BrickOwl doesn't seem to have
that problem, and neither do I in my own website. It works perfectly, just use
Stripe. I managed to get it to work in my webshop in no time at all.

Same here, I haven't had problems on BrickOwl with any of the Stripe integrations
for local or regional instant bank payments.

At one point on BL people would regularly build their order over time adding
parts here and there. This is fine as long as I know so I do not send and resend
invoices (which at times created buyer confusion and paying of an old incorrect
invoice amount) each and every time not knowing what the intentions of the buyer
were. I created a method called "Hold for additions" to accommodate this and
it helped those types of orders. At a point BL resorted how my shipping methods
get displayed putting the "Hold for additions" at the top of the list (Default)
which about 75% of buyers do actually change to what they desire. Many do not
change it and wonder why I have not invoiced them, claim I am slow to invoice.
I only know what I am told. I did change the length of time I automatically invoice
if I do not hear from them from 7 to 3 days.

This is exactly why I had to remove the Hold Open option; so many people started
selecting as soon as I had it enabled. After a few in a row I started messaging
and asking them if they were already complete after the first pass, and they
all were. I had to disable it.

Same thing for the "free" local pickup. Previously, I had that as an option and
so many selected it (likely the first pre-selected option) as soon as I turned
it on. But for almost every one of them I had to invoice with shipping as they
were not local. Right now, I was able to re-enable it but it's safely at
the bottom of the list. If we had control over the order of the shipping methods,
it would be much appreciated. Maybe it already exists and I'm unaware, but
I couldn't figure out how to enforce it.

The order of the shipping methods (at least for stores that have 1 or more IC
shipping methods) is: Starting with all "automatic invoice" methods, in order
from cheapest to most expensive for that order (based on your IC settings). The
bottom of the list contains the "manual invoice" methods.
If the "free" shipping options (for my store: "keep the order open" and "local
delivery") were also set to automatic, they would always be selected by default,
because cheaper than regular shipping.

  Hi there,

Do you think a feature will be added in which when you part out a set you can
add in how much the set cost and then the system would calculate how much was
paid per piece? It's a pain adding it in individually especially when you
have over 300 items! It would be nice if a feature like this also worked out
how much each part cost based on how much they sell for (depending on if you
picked current average/6 month average etc). For example if you bought a set
for $20 and it had 4 parts equally the cost would be $5, however if two of the
parts average was $10 each and the other two were $1 each having a cost of $5
for each part wouldn't make sense. Having to work that out for each part
by hand is just way too time consuming, but if the system did it on part out
entry it would be awesome.

This will only work if parts always have the same cost price in each set, else
you would have to make separate lots for the same part (there is only one mycost
field per inventory item).

Then it could offer 3 options, a bit similar to remarks:

Old mycost
New mycost
Average mycost

Those options are already provided during part-out, except it is not average
but quantity_average: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1109&q=my+cost

The option is only shown if you have the "mycost" input fields enabled in your
store settings.

Use Brickstock to do that.

BrickStock doesn't have an option to calculate / add the MyCost per item.

At the moment I have to search very time-consuming for the remarks when distributing
new parts, which are already in my invetory. Currently I always have to jump
into the inventory and take over the remark.
My suggestion would be to transfer the existing remarks already into the corresponding
fields. This function can also be optional (only if I want to transfer the old
remarks).

I would be very happy about this function.
Thanks and greetings

I think this is already available in the "consolidation" paragraph of the part-out
page.

While I want to have them seperate. Is there a way to avoid this?
Rommelse

I think a new order is automatically added to an existing order if the first
order is not marked “paid” by the buyer or marked as “packed” or “ shipped” by
the seller.

If a seller has Instant Checkout enabled and you use an on-site payment method,
you can sort of avoid the merging of the orders.

Russell,

will there be (or maybe there is already) some warning for sellers before an
undetermined variant is deleted? If I remember correctly, previously I received
a notification about items marked for deletion, but for the flags I didn't
receive such kind of notification.

Or has Bricklink now taken the point of view that a seller should frequently,
proactively check his inventory for these kind of random, unexpected changes
in the catalog?

What a chore it would be to try to sort and separate them given they look so
similar at first glance. Won't have the time or inventory drawer space to
bother trying to separate these. Guess they will be going in the "do not sell"
pile.

I fully agree. However I chose to do the work and spent almost 2 hours going
through all my flags, separate them and relist as A or B. And again the much
too slow update on Brickstock made it impossible to use that handy programme.
And all this for just such an irrelevant mould difference! Please don't come
up with more of these!

And which clown decide to delet the origin entry?

We're not going to have a catalog stuffed with undetermined entries. When
a decision is made to split an entry, the original one has to go. We plan to
move this process along much faster, btw, than in the past. Six months is plenty
of time for sellers to move their stock, not the years and years that is has
taken in the past.

A bricklink user may be an A + buyer but a mediocre seller. I’m dealing with
a seller who’s had bad reviews, ranging from water and crush damage to an order
that was cancelled without explanation. But this user has stellar buyer reviews
that reflect his overall rating.

If there’s not already, there should be a way to filter between these two types
of reviews so that users aren’t stuck with a bad seller who’s being advertised
so positively from their reviews as a buyer.

On the shops feedback-page, only his (recent, last 6 months) seller feedback
is shown.

I can understand the need to have a bypass password for some orders BUT I can
see it only being useful if the store(s) in question are using instant checkout.

Why not turn off the need for a bypass password for any stores that are not using
instant checkout since they are going to need to manually send an invoice/calculate
shipping anyways. It would help reduce the restriction errors buy quite a bit
and help sellers by not making them wonder why their sales have dropped off suddenly.

In my opinion the feature of the bypass password is to allow a seller some buyers
(selected and approved by the seller) to place an order although they don't
meet store terms. Since every store has its own reasons for having certain terms,
I don't think it is a good idea to just disable all the configurable store
terms. Sellers use these to set up a store that is manageable in their environment
(private life, other job, easy access to shipping, etc).

However, I DO think a lot of sellers are not fully aware of the consequences
of their store settings, resulting in the lower sales and/or frustrated buyers.

As a buyer I think it is always possible (if seller allows contact) to ask for
a bypass password if an order doesn't comply with store terms.

Perhaps the preview site can be enabled to allow testing.

The preview site is good to get familiar with new features before they are implemented
in the ‘real’ world, but is always a snapshot of the past. I need to be able
to verify my instant check-out settings at the moment I adjust them. So it would
be nice to be able to shop from yourself, or at least go through the order process
(except the final push on the order button).

Parted out 5 of these set recently. 3 of them had the 4085b in LBG and 2 of them had 4085d.
Strangely, the difference was all in the LBG, all 5 sets had the orange 4085d.
