| Given the disappointment expressed by a number of BrickLink users with regard
to missing out on the chance to buy one of the round 1 Designer Program sets,
perhaps BrickLink would consider the following for subsequent rounds.
a) For the first week following the start of a round, the maximum number of sets
that can be purchased is one.
b) After the first week, the maximum is increased to five.
This approach would increase the number of users who could buy a set while still
allowing LEGO the certainty of obtaining the necessary volume of sales to make
the program viable.

and ask for a refund on the shipping.

Thanks Admin_Russell,
however I fell for LEGO's bait and switch. Because the LEGO site said I would
be charged for shipping, I then spent more to buy other items which I wouldn't
have otherwise bought to take me to the standard amount to qualify for free shipping.
So will LEGO Consumer & Shopper Engagement turn around and giving me a credit
for the amount that I was told I would have been charged for shipping? As we
say in NZ, "Yeah, right".
My suggestion is that this really shouldn't have occurred in the first place.
So please liaise with headquarters for the next round to avoid a repeat. This
has left a sour taste in my mouth.

| Perhaps BrickLink could amend the incorrect statement on the Designer Program
pages. It clearly states "Free Shipping" for the sets. When you click through
to lego.com to place an order, shipping is then charged for.
The "Free Shipping" claim is mis-leading. Perhaps it is free shipping in some
regions of the world but no qualifier was placed on the "Free Shipping" on the
page.
Please make an improvement for the next round of the Designer Program and don't
repeat this mis-leading advertising.

|
| I'm hoping someone with Dacta catalogs from the mid(?) 1990's (perhaps
1993 - 1997) can help.
I recently acquired a somewhat obscure Control Lab set:
which I am in the process of creating the catalog inventory for. There don't
appear to be any references to this set of most of the other standard sites (e,g,
brickset, peeron) and the only image I could find of this set was at http://www.miniland.nl/Dacta/sets/2001187.htm.
The set in question is the set in the yellow case at the rear of the photo.
Via the wayback machine, I've had a trawl through LEGO's various sites
and have had no joy in finding any image for this set. Based on what I have found,
my presumption is that this set would have been listed in a Dacta catalog from
sometime in the mid-1990s - it may be that this set only was for sale in the
UK/Europe, although that is speculation on my behalf.
I was wondering whether anybody with Dacta catalogs from the mid-1990's would
be willing to take a look through their catalogs to see if they can find an image
for the set. My photo skills are "lacking" and if an image for the set is available
in a catalog, it will likely be better than any photo I add. If you do find an
image for the set, would you please submit it as the image for this set. I'd
also appreciate it if you would send me a copy of the image too please, as I
would like to be able to add this set to rebrickable.com.
Thank you and regards,
David

remember correctly, I reported it as a bug and was told it had been fixed.

The bug preventing it from being inventoried is fixed, but reserving the item
still has the bug. The reserve function I believe was part of another bug report
that isn't finished yet.
But yes, it can be inventoried now, when selecting "Gear" as item type.
|
Via the https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvAddSel.asp page or elsewhere? When
I try that page and click "verify items" button, it shows me the error message
"This Gear has been reserved by and is being worked on by another member".

| I'm trying to add the inventory for I'm trying to do this via
the page https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvAdd.asp?viewType=G.
When I attempt to reserve it, I get an error message "This item has already been
reserved by member".
However, when I look at the "Items Reserved to be Inventoried" page (https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?invRes=Y),
it is not list as being reserved.
Given it does not appear to be reserved, can anyone suggest what might be the
issue?

The container for this set comes in two forms; the storage bin + lid or the storage tray + the original box. The weight listed for the set is for the storage tray + original box option.

There appear to be two versions of this set. One which uses the red storage bin and one with the blue compartment tray in the box. The set weight represents the one with the blue compartment tray.
[To be deleted: I recently purchased this set online. All the part bags are still sealed hence why I am able to identify the extra parts.]

Thank you. Whatever is was that was done has corrected it without the need for
any refresh.
For my future reference, if I see something like this for another item, was this
a catalog quirk that to be resolved needs some form of manual intervention?

No, you were correct, it needed manual intervention. I copied the image from
the Not Applicable color to the Black color this morning, enabling you to see
it, but didn't have time to deal with the xref moves, inventory considerations
or post about it this morning.

| I'm slightly intrigued by the following, which may be a bug.
I've been looking at the inventory of the set
The "Gear" section of the set includes a Technic pen.
However, even though the catalog entry for the pen has an image, instead of the
pen's image being included in the inventory, it displays "No Image" instead.
I think that this (i.e. displays "No Image" instead of the available image) only
occurs when the given item has a colour specified of "Not Applicable" for the
item. It appears that the pen originally had a colour of black specified but
this was altered to "Not Applicable".
So, the bottom line question I have is, is it a bug that an item with a colour
specified as "Not Applicable" will not have its image displayed as part of a
set inventory?

David

| Subject pretty much says it. When buying parts, as you were adding them to your
cart from a store, there was a little thing that would tell you if their price
was above or below market average, and by how much of a percent. I just went
to buy some parts, and noticed that is now gone. It would be great if that was
brought back. It is much easier than trying to go piece by piece and check multiple
stores before buying one, especially when buying lots of parts.

Perhaps refer to discussion thread https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=217888&nID=1031088.
The feature was removed and the suggestion to reenable it was discarded.

The "New" wanted list incorrectly lists the price of parts. As an example, compare
the price as listed in the "new" wanted list (first screenshot) against the actual
price listed in the store (second screenshot). Disclaimer; if the screenshots
are not that legible, it is because the new wanted list uses a lot more screen
real estate (i.e. width and height) than the classic format, so the images might
get scaled by BrickLink in uploading to the forum.

Did your copy of the set come with both versions of this book?
Russell
|
I've got both the US and UK copies of the book. I bought the set second hand
from e-Bay but
(a) it was a couple of years ago and
(b) I think I separately bought a set and 3/4 of a set
so I can't recall 100% if they came in the one set or I was over enthusiastic
with my original inventory submission (e.g. woo hoo - my first catalog submission
and more then 100 photos/entries).
The evidence I have (refer to the "Gear up for Learning" catalogue embedded within
http://el.media.mit.edu/logo-foundation/resources/nlx/v8/Vol8No8.pdf, pages 26
& 27) suggests that the set did not come bundled with both versions of the book.
