Please add the option to send an orderconfirmation massage to the seller WITH
the ordered items in detail.
The same information as in the sellers-orderpage. With picture and with "My
Remarks"

Best (and simpliest) solution would be (in my opinion): the orderdatail page
as an PDF-attachment. (text searchable, not as an image)

Explanation": This is very helpfull when Bricklink is in Maintenance mode or
when picking orders in offline-mode (or when our intenet is down). It is also
helpfull for history

For a buyer it would be helpfull as it is the same as the orderplaced datail.

Comments or other/better ideas are welcome

It is to avoid all store change their names so they get on top of the list

THEY HAVE COMPLETED 10 successful transactions as buyers- the scams by 0 feedback

The beauty of this is that they can't start multiple new seller accounts
to prop up their buying feedbacks too.

I think this will work...

I dont think this will work, it is very easy to make some fake accounts and
buy 10 times and give 10 x feedback.

Maybe it is possible to add a sort of "verified account" status.
Only if an account is verified they can sell.
Or only If they are verified a red flag turns in a green flag. As long as a seller
has a red flag every buyer in that shop gets a popup at checkout with warnings
to be carefull before purchasing.

A group of "certified" volunteers can verify all the adress and account-info
before turning it into a green flag. With every adress or account change a seller
must go through the process of verifying again. (to prefend hackers or accounts
taken over by other persons)

regards,

Nico

The whole point of starting from 10 successful buying transaction is that they
cannot start multiple seller accounts to gain feedback.
Also isn't it better to make a scammer jump through some obstacles before
being able to scam? this suggestion makes the seller do some work to gain access
to selling where NOW he can just scam, if it doesn't work he opens a new
account and starts again- so easy. having to make 10 purchases will make the
person get a paypal account (most scammers don't have PP they ask for wire
transfers)
This idea is good because it is simple to implement- it won't solve the problem
100%- but will over 90%

I agree with you, your idea is great.
But why not going for 99,8% instead of 90%

I've seen scammers do more for less effort.
Also here on Bricklin; making several accounts, buying from each other for several
weeks and then at a sudden they sell the "If it seems too good to be true, it
probably is" things

Very interesting, never heard about this. (searched for a link but where????)
Is there a link from within Bricklink to this???

Hi Nico, I've tried but I've failed too.

I look for all links from the "My BL" screen as that is the start point for everything
I do on BL.

I see in the menu:
- Help Centre
- Help and get this
http://www.bricklink.com/helpDesk.asp

Maybe the menu links need sorting out and that maybe part of the problem - some
messages ae being tracked by help desk and some not??

Robert

thanks for your search for the link.

As you stated the links from the BL screen should link to the right place.
What are they thinking about service?? Making a new ticket system and not
letting the users know about it. Strange!!!!

It has been posted on the forum (and probably by users, not admins), but I do
not think that counts.

When I receive a reply on one of my bug reports, that e-mail has a link "View
this Ticket online" that links to this page.

thanks for your search for this link within BL.

Sadly the conclusion must be: There is not such a link!!!!

Coupon still open!!! Who find the link??

You would be surprised how many people don't know how to write their own
address correct.
BL can't know, and show, the correct format for each country.

There are ways to have the address checked against postal databases for validity.
Various websites use them.

If BL where to verify only the USA, EU, Germany, France and the Netherlands (the
5 regions with most members), 92% of the addresses would be verified. While
I agree that BL cannot check every country, verifying 92% of addresses is much
better than 0%.

Buyers are responsible for the correctness of their own address.
If BL would use their database to check addresses there might be privacy laws
involved.

This is exactly the problem: Buyers are responsible for the correctness of
their own address.

But BL can and must give the tools to fill it in correctly. (BL cannot check
it)

Do you see the comma between dutch post(zip)code and city??? (also in other
country's like Belgium there is a comma) such commas can cause problems
while the post company's are reading your shipping's with character
recognition.

A Dutch address doesn't contain a comma between the zipcode and city:
https://www.postnl.nl/versturen/brief-of-kaart-versturen/hoe-verstuur-ik-een-brief-of-kaart/brief-adresseren/

So why is BL placing that comma in your address: (see:https://www.bricklink.com/pref_general.asp?rD=Y)

It doesn't. Perhaps you've entered the comma yourself.

you are Lucky
When you change your address the comma will be placed automaticaly

Didnt you not noticed the comma between the zipcode and the city in some of
your buyers addresses??

That's exactly what I mean.

if the buyer does not know and Bricklink does nothing to show the right address
How the seller should know????

The seller wants to avoid problems. If Bricklink there now helps with the correct
information it should go better.

BTW Not every order comes with paypal payment and logging into paypal to find
the correct address is unnecessary when the address is good in Bricklink

Please use an international timestamp, so people know when the site is down

  I see on this page:

http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3001&idColor=7#T=S&C=7&O={"color":7,"cond":"N","ii":1}

that buyers can exclude from searches any and all stores that have any Minimum
Purchase amount.

I would like to suggest that this be tweaked so that buyers can input a dollar
value to exclude only stores that have a Minimum Purchase requirement greater
than the amount they input. As it stands now, ALL stores with ANY Minimum Purchase
amount (even if only $1) are excluded if the box is checked on this page.

Next, I would like to ask how many buyers actually check this box to exclude
any and all Minimum Purchase stores from their searches.

If many buyers exclude stores with any minimum purchase amount, sellers should
know this so they can possibly change. But I also think buyers should know that
if this is what they want, sellers are just going to require other things to
make orders worthwhile for them. These other things could be increased fees or
higher minimum shipping amounts. If sellers cannot price these costs into a minimum
amount of goods, they will charge them elsewhere.

Thor

I use this a lot and imo it is a very good tool when i only use a few items.

appreciated. This could help solve inventory problems, ensuring greater accuracy.

I would like the file to be downloadable to Excel or something similar. It should
contain the date and time of the entry, as well as the part number, quantity,
colour, remarks and any pricing information. It could also allow options to choose
any of the other elements used in setting up new items.

Anybody else agree?

Very well thinking:
Because you have to follow the law in any circumstances, i think it is enough

It may just be me, but I find it very difficult to view the messages in the Message
view, particularly if there have been many responses. It is just too difficult
to find any message, one must sort through hundreds of messages.

Having the Topic view is helpful, but once you click on the particular topic,
it is just downhill from there as far as looking through messages.

I have seen many Forum websites with a more user friendly design. They start
out with a General topic and then are broken down into subtopics. Once in the
subtopic, each thread would be listed - and the messages relating to that thread
could be found by clicking on the thread topic, which is the subject of the first
person to post the message. Replies to that message would then be found under
the first message in a logical to read order.

An example of this more user friendly layout can be found at big-boards.com or
many other websites.

Don't change anything !!! This Forum is just good the way it is. It is much better
then all the "normal" forums.
Here you can decide exactly the way you want to see it. Just do your best and
see first how this forum works.
