| Please make changes to the following inventory:
* | | 7019-1 (Inv) Viking Fortress against the Fafnir Dragon 979 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2005 Sets: Vikings |
* Change {49 to 50} Part Reddish Brown 30137 Brick, Modified 1 x 4 Log
Comments from Submitter:
On Nov 7/2005 the quantity for this part was changed from 50 to 49. About a year or two ago, I requested to change the quantity back to 50, however, my request was rejected or discarded.
However, I rebuilt the set and my set requires 50 pieces as follows:
Page 17 - 8 required
Page 19 - 6
Page 31 - 6
Page 32 - 4
Page 38 - 2
Page 70 - 4
Page 71 - 8
Page 70, 71 repeated x 2.
For a total of 50. I checked the two different versions of the instruction booklets on brickinstructions.com and both required 50. So at the very least, there are some instruction booklets that need 50 pieces, not 49. The quantity of 50 could be an alternate version, or at least make a note for the set.

| Hi.
Is there any real reason WHY the date is shown when an item is listed within
a stores' inventory?
I've kept the option on when I've sold out of an item, it's retained
within my store's inventory, so that when I add more stuff, I know that of
the 2 listings that I have for that particular item (used and new), the USED
listing is always above the new, ensuring that I don't add used stock to
the NEW listing.
I can't understand why this option is there, but it does seem strange, because
when I'd first listed an item within my inventory 4 years ago, and have since
added more of that kind in the years between then and now, but to a Newbie buyer,
it will give the impression that my NEW stock is 4-6 years old, whereas it could
actually be 2 days old!
Can this feature be given the option of being updateable when new stock is actually
added to the retained listing?
Regards,
Paul
|
I would agree with this suggestion as this has caused me problems as well in
so far as the "Newest Items" button in the store does not show that I've
just recently added new items because the listing date is so old. I like the
"Newest Items" button, but it doesn't show the newest items published in
the store if the listing date is old (well it shows them, but way way way down!).
For example: I'm selling sets, and I listed them in my inventory about a
year ago, so they have the original listing date. However, it might be 6 months
or a year before I actually make the set available in my store (as I'm double-checking
it, etc.). When I finally get around to putting it in my store, if a customer
were to click "Newest Items" to see what I've recently put in my store, they
don't see the item because it has an old listing date. So I have to delete
the item from my inventory, and re-enter it.
|
That is not the same issue as Paul mentioned. Showing the date in WL is a new
function however BL has always AFAIK used the 1st listed date to sort inventory
displayed to a buyer in new store listings. Also if you retain lots then add
to them after selling out this will not prompt a notify message as a new listing
does.

|
Maybe I completely misunderstood. I do get that his issue is different than
my scenario, but I thought his solution to his issue is to allow the seller to
modify the listing date, in which case, it would solve my issue? Or have
I misunderstood? I would like to modify the listing date because I'd prefer
it to be the date when I actually send out the notifications, which is the date
that I've made it available in my store.

I've always wished we had this feature - I could get rid of so many odds
and ends on my wanted lists that way. Stores could allow the button to be toggled,
or not if they didn't want to deal with the complication of charging the
minimum.
Sometimes contacting the store owner can take a few days turnaround to get a
response, and in some cases, they don't respond. Padding an order up with
pieces you don't need to meet the minimum runs the risk of increasing shipping
costs and seems wasteful.

Comments from Submitter:
In JackStone set 4605, the windscreen is decorated as manufactured (not with a sticker). The inventory lists an undecorated windscreen, but the decorated windscreen as a counterpart. The decorated windscreen should not be a counterpart - it should be a regular part of the set. Note in similar JackStone set 4603, the decorated windscreen is listed as part of the set, not as a counterpart.

In set 6776, I believe that the rubber band is part x88 (small) instead of x151 (extra small). Peeron lists it as x88, and I will provide a picture of the instructions to show why I think it is the larger rubber band.
|
For the instructions 6776, on page 50, the rubber band is shown to be about 1.5
cm which I think is the Small version, not the Extra Small version. Note that
in a different set, set 8010 page 44, they show an Extra Small version of the
rubber band, and it is shown to be about 1 cm in diameter.
The first picture is from set 6776. The second picture shows the Extra Small
rubber band in set 8010.

I should re-word my previous response to say that you should let BL admin know

she'd give me permission on a temporary basis as long as I met certain

and letting her know when I was finished with the account).

I don't think so but maybe you should let the BL admin know - I asked the
BL Cust Support(Jaclyn) if I could set up a test account so that I could test
the ordering process from my store before opening. She let me do so, but stipulated
that I was not to give/receive feedback. So I placed about 4 orders, tested
ordering, paying, sending, cancelling, etc. processes before actually opening.
Jaclyn even reversed the BL charges to my account from my test orders even though
I was completely willing to pay them.
So the new seller and buyer (same person) a few days ago who gave feedback to
himself - its possible that he was testing the process, not realizing the severity
of his actions. After all, he only left 1 positive feedback for himself - he
could have left a lot more.

| Thanks, viejos, I figured this would be a problem since my istruction
book has about 4 differences from the inventory listed. However, I did look
at the two instruction booklets on the Lego website side by side and they
both show a quantity of 50. Those are the only booklets I could find so
I definitely know that one version of the set has a quantity of 50. I just
don't know how to figure out if there is another version with a quantity
of 49. I will try google to see if I can find any other versions of the booklet.
Thanks again.

* | | 7019-1 (Inv) Viking Fortress against the Fafnir Dragon 979 Parts, 6 Minifigures, 2005 Sets: Vikings |
* Change {49 to 50} Part Reddish Brown 30137 Brick, Modified 1 x 4 Log
Comments from Submitter:
On Nov 7, 2005, the quantity for this part (Reddish Brown Log 1X4) was changed from 50 to 49. But my set has 50 of these pieces.
I can't figure out if there are some sets that only have 49 of these pieces, but if one looks at the building instructions on the Lego website, the quantity of these bricks is shown as follows:
Page 32-33: 14 (on wall) plus 10 on the top header (note: 4 on the underside of it)
Page 38: 2 along the top
Page 71: 12 along the top
Page 78: another 12 along the top (as this wall is built twice)
This totals to 14+10+2+12+12=50
So some of the sets have 50 of these parts. I don't know if I should make this an Alternate Item, or just change the number.

This is one of those sets with multiple versions of instructions, so it's
really impossible to say until you get both versions side by side and figure
out what is going on. And then to do the right job on the inventory, you would
need to set up a single match number for the version change and use that match
number on all the parts involved.
Inventories like this are a real hornets nest to deal with. 984 parts. Good luck.

* Add 5 Part 4032b Tan Plate, Round 2 x 2 with Axle Hole - New Style with X Opening (Alternate) (match ID 1)
Comments from Submitter:
I bought Cloud City on November 17, 2004 (I have receipts if required). My version uses part 4032b, not 4032. I know this because I own exactly 5 Tan coloured round plates, and the only set I own with Tan coloured round plates is Cloud City which has 5 of such plates. I have never bought any Tan coloured round plates privately.

* Change 4 Part {Dark Bluish Gray to Pearl Dark Gray} 32140 Technic, Liftarm 2 x 4 L-Shape Thick
Comments from Submitter:
Hello, my set 8877 clearly has 4 dark pearl-like Technic lift-arms which I think are Dark Pearl Gray, definitely not Dark Bluish-Gray. Also, on page 27 of my instruction book, the pictures shows that they are not Dark Bluish-Gray. I don't know how to figure out if this is an alternate version of the same set or a mistake in the existing inventory (a newbie).

My set has dark bluish gray, TLG's part replacement also indicates dark bluish
(dark stone) gray...
Pictures in buildinginstructions are not always represenative...
What is the number on the instruction?
Did you buy the set sealed or second hand?

Thank you for your help. All of my sets have been bought from the store (I believe
Toys R Us in Canada, but sometimes Walmart). I'd have to look for my receipts.
I've never bought anything that wasn't sealed, and I've never bought
privately (other than replacement parts on Bricklink).
However, I have attached a picture from my instruction book. Can you see how
the liftarms seem to be in a slightly different colour than the two bricks
with pins directly beside them (to the right), which are in dark bluish
stone) gray? The majority of the rest of the picture shows black bricks.
My instruction book is set 8877, and the only other number I could find is
on the bottom left which is 4281693. Is this the number you are referring
to?
Thanks again for your help.
