| Voted YES! It is understandable that a site like Brickset has this information,
as Brickset is a reference site. But for BrickLink? It doesn't make any
sense, nor does it serve any positive purpose. Unless BL is planning to become
a LEGO and Amazon affiliate.
BL's new owners appear to be confused about the identity of the site. What
gives BL's its uniqueness is that it is the largest LEGO marketplace. Period.
It doesn't have to become a reference site, news-site, blog, MOCshop or any
of that other stuff other sites are already doing just fine. BL rules its very
own, very unique, and very needed niche.
"10,000 songs in your pocket". That's it. The most brilliant advertising
ever. That' why Apple is awesome. It focuses on one thing instead of being
all over the place. The message is clear, the niche is defined, people love it.
BL's slogan should remain focused like that. It should remain The Largest
Unofficial LEGO Marketplace...

Please remove the reference and link to the MSRP price. This is a new feature
that many have questioned. Although I don't think anyone has made a formal
suggestion to remove it.
I do not think this helps sales on BrickLink. On the contrary, as Tracy and others
noted, listing an MSRP that is lower than what the item sells for on BrickLink
could very well be sending buyers elsewhere, turning them off to BrickLink or
discouraging them from ordering such items here on BrickLink.
When I shop for LEGO online or in the real world at Target, TRU, WalMart and
other places, I have never seen any of these retailers list a lower MSRP alongside
their own higher price. Why in the world would they? It might make sense when
their prices are far below the MSRP, but never when prices are higher than the
MSRP.
My apologies, but I just don't see the purpose of listing the MSRP as far
as sales are concerned. It might have some minor passing appeal as a mere historical
reference for long discontinued sets, but how exactly does it help sales when
currently available sets are often priced higher here on BrickLink? Unless the
purpose is to bring down those prices? IMO, any usefulness in listing the MSRP
as a mere reference is greatly outweighed by the potential negative affect on
sales, turning off of buyers, and creating disputes between buyers and sellers
as to why a seller is charging more than the MSRP.
Profit is not a sin. It makes commerce possible. And it makes buyers able to
easily get what they want.

Yes please, for all the reasons Thor said.
And please please do away with the text that says "This set appears to be on
sale at On-line LEGO shops following." Why send buyers away?

Do I wait till I see the tracking that it was scanned and then Mark it shipped.
Why does everything have to be so complicated. Print the label mail the package
as you should mark it shipped and move on.
|
Amen!. Everything seems so complicated lately. I print the labels around 1
or 2 am., put on the packages, record tracking # on orders, put packages into
mailbin, mark as shipped and go to bed. Sometime in the early morning the postman
rings the doorbell, husband hands him the bin and that is that. When I wake
up all is shipped. Since the tracking # is on all orders and mentioned in the
ship notice then anyone can check to see that their package is indeed gone.

Wrong.
Some of us do not print out postage labels online.. so shipping cannot be defined
as above.
simply put...
An order is only shipped when it is no longer in the hands of the seller, but
in the custody of the delivery service, whatever it happens to be
( On a side note...waiting 6 weeks to ship an order, even with the holidays,
is a downright disgrace.)

The 3 strikes you are out sounds good, but not if it's calculated over years.
At some point old NPB's and NSS's etc should stay on your record as feedback.
But not count towards you getting booted.
It's not about how much money you spend or how many feedback you have.
The % sounds like a good rule, because it's the same for everyone.
A 100 feedbacker can have maximum 3 strikes, but the 1000 may get 5? before they
are out.
I think Dan did not think people would get 1000, 2000, 3000 or 10,000 feedback.
So the system works for 10 feedback, 100 and even 500 feedback.
But at some point it fails...
Maybe a good idea to have this rule updated for 2.0

Did she read the BL messages sent through the "contact buyer"link?

Is this a normal "contact member" message or a "regarding order #" message.
It seems to make a difference.
|
What I am asking for, since this has happened several times if that buyers not
be allowed to turn off BL messages so that at the very least, if email fails,
the message is in their inbox.

The system seems to be already setup this way when messaging regarding orders.
| Some may not want random contact via BL mail, so perhaps only when there is an
open order.

It means that a message can be attached to the bottom of the order detail page.
Assuming the buy opens the order, the message would at least be there. Melanie

At one time is was pretty much standard operating procedure. The fig with a
cape, the fig without a cape, and sellers chose which way to market their figs.
The change happened in 2004, when after much heated discussion, it was officially
decided that the "basic" fig (headgear, head, torso, legs) was not an "official"
Lego release, and the catalog would contain only "official" Lego figs.
While I see the logic, it does not satisfy market demand, in that there is a
market for capes (d-baskets, plumes, armor) sold separately as well as a market
for figs without these items.
