I was just looking to see how much boxes go for and I'm confused. I know
I have the box for Lord of the Rings Battle of Helm's Deep. I'm not selling
that set but I do have the box. Could the cheapest current listing actually be
$75 for the box only?! If someone wants to buy an old box for that much I'll
find a way to ship it but is that possibly correct?!

I had a similar scenario from my own collection. I listed a bunch of flattened
boxes and have been surprised that they do sell. I mean, not super quickly,
but they have been selling slowly.

The way I ship them - I use a regular shipping box, but unbuilt. I kind of slide
the LEGO box into the unbuilt shipping box, it becomes a big flat package. Then
I tape around the edges of the box. I also put paper around the edges of the
LEGO box so that it doesn't stick to the tape. I've been able to reuse
a bunch of amazon boxes this way. It's kind of a lot of effort, and I think
it's really only worth it if you're getting $10 or more for the box.
Otherwise, between the cost of the shipping box and fees (BL and PP), you're
not really going to break even or find the profit is worth the effort.

I have all these boxes from my kids' lego sets. We would always break them
down and save them but I really have no use for them. Should I try to sell them?
Is there much market? Also how would you ship them?

If there is a market for them I will sell them but seems like the shipping would
be terrible and maybe not worth the effort. What does everyone else do with the
old boxes?

Since PayPal integrated with ShipStation I don't see a way to notify buyers
of their tracking numbers without copy/pasting/emailing them the tracking numbers.
Is there something I'm missing in settings that notifies the buyer of their
shipping/tracking information? When I mark things as shipped it just tells them
it shipped. Paypal just holds the information and I have to look it up in order
to send to a customer. I used to be able to send a notification while I was printing
the label but I can't find that option now.

Anyone find an efficient way to do this??

It isn't - it's being deducted as a "Partner Fee"

And I juuuuust figured that out. I thought I was losing my mind for a minute.
Thank you! I'm going to leave this up in case someone else is an idiot and
misses that major detail.

I'm doing my business accounting for both of my businesses. I have an Etsy
store and this BrickLink store. On Etsy, they collect and remit sales tax for
every state except Missouri where I am located. The Missouri taxes I collect
and remit along with my regular sales tax payments.

I'm just realizing that in the 2 months I've been making sales on Bricklink
that all the sales tax collected is actually coming to me in Paypal. I've
had zero in-state sales so I didn't think I needed to remit sales tax but
I have sales tax in my account for all these other states. I have no idea even
where to begin remitting those taxes. Am I missing something? Is there a setting
I don't have correct? What do I do with all this sales tax money???

Is there a way to automatically send tracking information to buyers when you
purchase your shipping with PayPal? I just had a buyer request the tracking number.
I had to open PayPal, find the order and copy/paste the tracking information
and then email the buyer. Seems like there is a simpler way to send tracking
information or automatically send it when the label is purchased. I poked around
my settings but I didn't see a way to automatically do that. Am I missing
something?

Perfect. Thank you so much for sharing these resources.

Instabrick works pretty well. It's a bit pricy but can save lots of time
searching. Otherwise, it just takes time, practice, and eating pizza to remember
all the different keywords/searching methods. Generally, it's worth more
to sell Themed minifigures complete but usually, better to part out non-themed
Minifigures.

For the colored minifig parts that are Yellow or Light Nougat, I usually use
the color guide as a starter.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp

You can select the color, then the category for the part (Minifigure, Head) and
then there is a much smaller list to scan through. If you use the "thumbnail
Gallery" as well, it's even quicker.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catID=238&catXrefLevel=0&colorPart=69&catType=P

For other parts, I usually start with this tool:
https://figureitout.app/blfigure

And then it's just a matter of learning the key words.

I'm setting up my new shop and my inventory is logged and I'm waiting
on approval to be a verified seller. In the meantime I want to make sure I'm
setting up my shipping appropriately.

I copied some forms for pricing and updated them for the current price increases
at USPS etc. I set the first class mail in 4 oz increments and added flat rate
boxes.

My question is how does it work? Does BrickLink have the weight of the individual
bricks imbedded into the inventory and when someone orders it all adds up and
gives you total weight? Then you have to add in the packaging?

I'm used to selling on Etsy where you manually enter weight for each item
and then the buyer chooses shipping based on the weight you entered (weight of
item plus shipping materials).

How do they know if it fits in a small flat rate box vs a large flat rate box?

I'm just confused about how all of this works. Do you get a pending invoice
and then update the shipping prices accordingly before submitting the final invoice
for them to pay?

Is there any way to efficiently identify minifigure parts? I'm setting up
my new store and I stopped when I got to cataloging minifigures. I have bins
of heads, torsos, legs, and hair. I have no idea where to start piecing them
together into full figures. Or is it better to sell them as individual parts?

Please tell me there's an easy way and it won't be hours and hours of
searching to figure out what goes with what??
