Quite a milestone.

Congratulations!

The chance that a seller will reach this milestone and also be an active member

I placed order 20,000,000 and it was placed with a well-known US store. We're
not exactly active members of *this* forum, but we both know each other. It was
a fun day.

Not to pile on but this is happening to me too. Chrome/Windows user. Very frustrating
as I use the BL interface for search/entry and not 3rd party tools.

Please change this back. Thanks!

  Hi,

Just noticed today that when searching the shop's inventory multiple times,
the search dropdown keeps reverting to search within all items on bricklink instead
of in store inventory. This was not the case when inputting items yesterday so
I was wondering if this is a glitch/change/setting that anyone has a fix for?
The muscle memory of just searching repetedly is slowing down us down and causing
some frustration.

Thanks

Nothing to add other than I agree. I'm glad everyone else can now add pieces
to their collections but I can't add items to my inventory which is costing
BL money. As a marketplace, the SELLERS are the customer, and it needs to be
seen that way.

In Problem, dewertz writes:
  Dear BrickLink Team,

why are you making such serious changes in the middle of the Christmas season?
It is simply not possible to work properly on the site today.
If such things were announced, you could at least be prepared for it in terms
of daily workflow.
There are many commercial sellers here and we expect the platform operator to
act professionally.

Please make such big updates in the future in calmer times, at best also with
more beta testing in advance, so that something like today does not happen.

Best regards

Thanks for the clarification. I think the overall point of this post was to suggest
that Bricklink do more than just put stores in a "Highlighted" or "Featured"
list and actually provide some top-tier customer service to larger stores to
get quicker resolution to issues, since downtime for a large store has significant
financial impacts.

There's not much we can do other than discuss it and suggest it, but hopefully
someone at BL or TLG HQ sees this and takes it into consideration.

It's always been Highlighted and Featured stores. As to your
"they have this data" statement: The site uses the simple data of fees paid monthly.
Which translates into gross sales: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2443

We occasionally would appear on these lists in the earlier years. Which didn't
do much beyond offering more exposure, if that.

The goal for them should be to provide better service to their top 1, 3, 5% of customers.
Whatever that number works out to be and is manageable. If you are familiar with
some top tier loyalty airline/hotel programs they have dedicated call lines and/or
agents for their top spenders. I am fully on board with this (my store may
or may not make then cut, between 200-300 orders per month).

There would have to be clear criteria for gaining the status and for losing the
status. I.e. one bad month shouldn’t drop you back down but a 3-6 month average
maybe.

The reason I ask is there comes a point where you are basing your livelihood
on the platform. I would think there is room for some type of "power seller"
status. Something that allows you to call Ebay and have a direct conversation
about support issues or problems you are having with the platform. I'm sure
there are other things that could be afforded to this group. I'm not saying
these people need an advantage or anything. Just that some sellers are better
representative for the platform and there could be opportunities to create a
forum or communications channel for these sellers.

It would also act as a motivator for no sellers to reach a measurable, rewardable
goal. Somewhat like Ebay does with shipping speed, tracking, communications,
etc.

that there’s a minifig they can’t buy because there’s no shipping method available.
I’ve been getting orders from other people so it’s not like my shipping methods
are completely broken but I can’t pinpoint the real problem here. Is there some
wider problem here? Something on the buyer’s end? I’m at a loss.

Thanks,
Steve

I can see you are using Instant Checkout, and it looks like you ship orders by
weight, so that may point to the issue; when using Instant Checkout, you need
to make sure all the items in your store inventory have the volume/weight required
to allow for it to use your shipping methods... unfortunately, some of the items
in the catalog are missing volume/weight, and prevent folks from using your shipping
methods to purchase those items using Instant Checkout(and I believe the error
was "no shipping methods available..." when some Buyers brought it to my attention
a few years ago)...

The simplest way to check if any items in your store inventory are missing information
that prevents them from being purchased via Instant Checkout is by going to "My
Store--Inventory", then making sure the "Instant Checkout Unavailable" box
is checked, and hitting the "Go!" button... if any items pop up, those items
are missing information that would allow for Instant Checkout; you can then add
whatever info (volume or weight) is missing manually (as you can see in the screenshots,
I added weight to the items in my inventory)... once you add weight, run the
same search as before, and no items should pop up...

It took me a while to figure this out about two years ago because a few Buyers
had asked about specific items that they were unable to checkout with; and since
I only use Instant Checkout, I was able to determine the issue... and when I
checked, it turned out I had a bunch of items that couldn't be sold via Instant
Checkout; as the missing volume/weight info prevented any Buyer from checking
out if any one of those items was in their cart...

I regularly check for missing weight/volume from time to time now, as I add more
items to my inventory, so I don't have that issue again... Hope that helps.

Life is Good.

Are these variants of the same item? I have the key chain that is pictured in

Yes I saw KC063. I was wondering if the key chain I have (which has a torso with
five buttons and a badge, just like the torso from col329 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb3094c01&idColor=11#T=I&C=11
) is the same item since the stock photo for KC063 shows the torso with a diagonal
zipper and badge.

Thanks for any insight.

It should be Pearl Light Gray. 1x1 round plates in what BrickLink calls Flat
Silver weren't introduced until 2011, 6 years after the light-up figures
(Flat Silver in general replaced Pearl Light Gray starting around 2010)

Thank you (and previous commenter) for the help! I appreciate it.

My store is mostly known for minifigures and minifigure parts/accessories, but
I have uploaded what I believe is a large and comprehensive inventory of LEGO
trees, leaves, flowers, etc. The common colors (greens) have large quantities
available, with a good amount of the rarer color leaves/plants available as well.

All are used but have been sorted and quality checked for any broken or damaged
areas. Bulk pricing is available as well.

I have another ~10 lbs of plants to still sort through so if there is anything
specific you are looking for - or more quantities of existing parts - feel free
to shoot me a message and I can look for you.

Thank you!

The flowers on the left are dark pink. Which color are the middle and right flowers?
Which is pink and which is bright pink? Is bright pink lighter than pink (one
on the right?) Or does bright pink mean it has more saturation and is the one
in the middle?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I'm still only 11 months into this and come across
something new every day, especially dealing with old/used/vintage LEGO.

The arms are very easy to tell because LEGO prints their logo and part number
on the inside. The torsos and legs I haven't found any markings, but you
can tell that the pearl dark gray color is slightly off. It's slightly lighter
and looks less homogeneous/more streaky.

I don't really fault sellers and don't want to get them in trouble for
selling counterfeit pieces because I honestly don't think it's intentional,
but at the same time I don't want to be eating the cost for all these fake
parts that I can't use to list minifigures in my own store.

Any community thoughts on this? Just a cost of doing business or should I be
weeding these out of the system and getting refunds?

As others have said, but to be even more direct: Those are not fakes. Period.
Yes, they came in different shades and some had those streaks, and yes, they
came with and without the Lego logo. In this situation, you would be the jerk
if you pursued refunds, given that those are genuine Lego parts.

Thanks. I did buy them all used, but I think the rest of the forum has soundly
shot down my argument that they are not real, so I'm going to just lick my
wounds and leave it alone.

I just feel bad if somebody orders multiple from me because I think the ones
I believed were fake kinda look like junk. But sounds like nobody cares.

It all goes back to provenance. If these are established sellers, ask them how
the minifigs came to their inventory. If they took them directly from sets, then
they have to be genuine. If they are buying bulk from some upstream supplier,
then it may be worth chasing the chain.

Thanks for the pictures. I guess I really should have started with "are these
fakes". I understand lots of LEGO helmets and hair and other pieces don't
have the LEGO logo on them. These other parts just look and even feel so different
I convinced myself they were off. The legs in particular just feel like they
have less sharp edges but it must be in my head. As I was assembling a bunch
to list for sale it just looked so obvious the difference.

Anyway, sorry to ruffle everyone's feathers, I'll go dig some battle
droid arms out of my junk bucket now...

and looks less homogeneous/more streaky.
