| I've always wondered this too - I suspect that somehow it calculates the
average price that you paid per piece, including an equal distribution of taxes
+ shipping.

|
You say most of the time you refund your customers, why only most of the time,
if that is what you are expecting here?
So if I place a $95 order in your store, the tracking shows it was delivered
to the my address and I say I didn't get it you will refund me or will it
be one of those times were you don't?
|
I'm not entirely sure why you're being defensive when I'm inquiring
about what the general census is. We refund most of the time, because we ask
customers to wait for a few days to see if the packages arrive. Those few times
we haven't refunded, they have arrived.
Technically, per Paypal's TOS, it is the responsibility of the seller to
ensure that a package is safely delivered to a customer. I've made my peace
and moved on from my order with you, and haven't named you in any of these
discussions so please stop with the hostility.

USPS marked it as delivered. I reached out to the seller and asked if we could
work something out and they basically told me that I'm SOL.
So I'm asking out of general curiosity, since I'm seeing a split in opinion
on this:
If a customer doesn't get their order, whether it was lost in transit or
porch pirates got to it, what recourse do you take, as the seller? Refund the
customer, offer them store credit, or tell them to suck it up if they didn't
purchase insurance?
|
If it says delivered your issue is with thieves, neighbors or your postal carrier,
not the seller IMO.
I personally don't make sure issues the sellers problem. I've been forced
to eat this before on my end when a buyer makes it my problem though.
|
The buyer lives on a street where his steps are on the sidewalk. All someone
has to do is reach out and grab the package off the steps it's also in the
6th largest cities in the US.
|
I was more or less curious what the concensus was and wasn't calling you
out per se. Would appreciate if you didn't show my street on a public forum.

| I always wonder why resellers complain about taxes, in the sense that it's
a bit more than a hobby to maintain a decent storefront here.
Sure, this may be a side-hustle for some but Bricklink is capable of generating
a significant amount of revenue if you care for your store properly. Part of
caring for your store is tracking your expenses, income and classifying both
of them.
Sure, you paid $15 for a set one year but sold it for $20 the next. That doesn't
mean that you didn't get to write that $15 as an expense in Y1. Everytime
I see these articles I always suggest that people take the time to understand
their states' taxes and their own tax requirements. Pay an accountant if
need be, it'll save you a headache in the end if you don't fully understand
what needs to be done.
