  Hello,

I currently have two orders with problems and I'd like to know how much time
on average a seller should be given to 1) answer and acknowledge a complaint
and 2) solve the problem.

Problem 1) fake Lego received (a good copy so seller didn't notice). I immediately
notified the seller and he quickly offered a full refund which I quickly accepted.
2 days later and still no refund.

Problem 2) new minifig delivered with clear blemish on torso (more than a simple
scratch).
I immdeiately sent a message through Bricklink and photos by email. 2 says later
and no reply.

I know this is subjective, but given how serious the problems are (fake Lego
& flawed "new" item) I think it is only reasonable that a seller should act quickly.

However, I am not a seller so I don't know how much work running a store
can be.
How long should I wait before taking the next step (NSS? or Paypal complaint?).
How long should I wait before sending a reminder?

thanks in advance

NT

Most sellers run their stores part time and have other 'proper' jobs
- obviously some of the larger stores do this full time so really depends on
the seller.

Personally I try and reply as quickly as possible - generally the same/next day.
But it really would depend on the sellers situation.

I think you need to allow a maximum of 7 days for them to reply, maybe a reminder
after 3 or 4 days if no replies.

Additionally keep in mind that it was the weekend and some people don't manage
and opperate on the weekend either. I would say 5-7 days before I send another
reminder/message.

  Howdy,

Maybe there is a place right here on BL, but maybe not...

What I'm looking for is a way to do a checklist of a set's inventory
without printing our i.e. wasting paper.

I'd like to be able to count the parts I have & then make a mark/check of
some sort & then move on to the next piece to see if I have all the pieces.

Thanks!

The easiest way that I've found is to create a wanted list from the set.
If you go to the set page, under "my wanted list" click "part out". Here you
can create a new wanted list specific to the set and you can use the check boxes
and other features to track your set progress. In the end, you'll also have
the wanted list ready for all the parts that you need to purchase.

No prob! I searched for "Ghost Ninja" and I found it under another subtheme

Additionally, you can use the "color guide" to search as well. Here it is broken
down by color and then you can use the category "Minifigure, Torso Assembly,
Decor.".

Addressing this and similar posts: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1349983

From your end, how would you always know that the vendor “takes 2-3 days before
they turn it over to shipper”?

Just one of what I'm certain are several possible scenarios:

I take a deal of pride (those that know me would say to obsession) in quick
order processing, which includes getting the package into USPS possession. I
do this by packaging every order and having it ready to go before invoicing.
Upon receiving payment, the label is immediately created and applied. It's
here the obsession kicks in, as I then feel the urge to drive it the one km to
our PO without delay, thus finishing my part of the deal I made.

Here's where the question I posed to you plays out: I only ever use the package
drop box in the lobby when open, or exterior when closed. Arriving home, I immediately
change the status to "shipped" followed by a Drive Thru message being sent with
tracking link. We all know how tracking lags, and the link may not show 'shipper
possession' for sometime, on weekends and holidays it can be days.

Does the buyer then feel like you, that I was premature, perhaps even dishonest,
in changing the status to shipped? It’s actually an honest question that I’ve
always wondered: How do my buyers really feel about it?

-popsicle

As a seller, I follow a similar process although I don't have the instant
urge to drive to the post office to drop them off. When I have an order come
in, I feel like I have to pull it right away. I don't get a lot of orders
either, so it tends to give me a few minute break from my full time job so maybe
that's the real motivation. Either way, I almost always ship the next day
via my mail box to my mail carrier. They scan packages on pickup and I know
they are in the system within the next hour or two. However, I still mark them
as shipped as soon as I see the mail go. I then flip the order to shipped, post
my feedback and send a drive through as well.

As a buyer, when I see a "shipped" for me it just means that it's left the
sellers hands. That could mean a drop box, at the desk or mail carrier like
I do. I don't think that it is dishonest or premature in any way, but this
also could be the way of the US postal system as well.

As far as I know, they are not the same. Paypal has it's on address information
that you fill in when you create an account there, similar to BL. You'll
need to "confirm" that they BL address is the Paypal address in order to get
the assurance.

For ex, the real selling to Eu customers is ~ 2000+ euro.

I've opened a support ticket but this is strange, they have 1 year to implement
it correctly.

How does this work? You are a brand new user as of today, already have a feedback,
a store and 10k in sales? Looks like some accounts need to be merged.

I'm sure some people just bought every set to sell off the ones they don't
want, but you can't offer them for sale yet as they don't exist. Just
wait around and they'll get added to the catalog and market price will be
established.

Try adding a size limit in the shipping settings

You will have to make this adjustment on each shipping method that you offer,
that you want/need to adjust. If you go to your store settings - Shipping -
select a shipping method to update, then go all the way to the bottom to "Restrictions
and Adjustments". Under the "Package adjustment" select the drop down and then
add a "padding adjustment". Basically you are adding a buffer to be use when
an order is placed. Hope that helps.

Do I cover the cost or ask for the additional 6 dollars?

You cover the cost and fix your settings so that it doesn't happen again.

+1

There is a learning curve to getting started and adjusting the rates for shipping
especially if you are using instant checkout. One option is to only use the
invoicing method. Then you can pull the order, get everything packed and weighted
and send an invoice with a proper shipping method. Down side to this is that
you do all the work upfront and if the shipping is to high for the buyer, they
have the right to cancel and you have to break everything back down and put it
away again.

You didn’t actually paid anything yet.  It was only an authorization check.

When the set will be sent (and only then), you’ll be actually charged.

Ah now this brings up an interesting point. If I need to update my card later
on to have it go on a different card will I be allowed to do this?

Yes 100%. I had to do this for the first round. All you need to do is call
Lego support number and provide the order details. They'll make the update
on their end and it'll go through without issue when it ships.

Hi Randy

I thought it was agreed not to do this as this wasn't really a Lego promo.

If I'm correct, it was WDR itself that did the printing to hand it out to
the employees.

I could be wrong

I've not had any issue with Amazon either.

Additionally there are not a lot of tray dividers that come with the case. These

That's really sharp. Especially like the balcony booth. Great job.

Yes. If you hover over the "heart" for Want list and select "Buy". Then on
the next page, select the check box for all the wanted list that you would like
to search for and click "Apply". Then you can manually filter through the provided
list or use the "auto-select" feature.

Was one a limit?

Same story here. I placed an order for myself, paid with creditcard, all fine.
After that I placed a second order for family using their shipping address and
their credit card, but via the same Bricklink and Lego.com account. Thinking
this was alright and within 'fair use'. They are not 'online people'.

I noticed after refreshing like 20-30 minutes later that my first order was cancelled
(I received the e-mail about that like 8 hours later).

In my panic that my own order was now gone and sets were all selling out I placed
a THIRD order and paid using Paypal. That order nog hangs in limbo, unprocessed,
no e-mail confirmation. Will now start the process of trying to get that resolved
and/or money back.

What a fiasco...

My guess is that all your orders will be cancelled as you ordered more that 1
from the same account. Shipping address doesn't matter as the same user
made the purchase and it was limited to 1. As for getting your money back, you
were never charged. If you used a credit card, there is an authorization that
is on your account that will drop in time and for Paypal, it's kind of the
same thing. With the PP system, they move the money, but Lego won't actually
process the order since they aren't shipping anything and it will automatically
come back to you. I did this for my order in the first round and I want to say
it came back in like 2 weeks or so.

I'm hoping they get caught up soon. I'm building a Black Falcon army
to go with the castle MOC I'm building from eight (or more) 3 in 1 sets,
and right now I can't get any weapons except bows or crossbows, no shields
at all, and only the full-face helmets from the blacksmith set. I ended up placing
three separate orders because on my first order I didn't find the heads or
the helms, and on the second order I forgot to add heads for the figures from
the first order. So I'll have three sets of 20 figures each, with only 20
helmets because I want the open-face helmets for the others, and no weapons or
shields. I'm hoping that things are back to normal soon. This is my first
experience with Pick-a-Brick, and it looks like I chose a bad time. LOL

It's unfortunate that there isn't another site that sells individual
parts, with quicker shipping turnaround, better pricing and relatively fast customer
support.

not complaining and I realize that it was my responsibility to keep my account
active. I was just wondering if it were still possible to recover my account.
If it helps, I still have the original email that I received when I created my

this question but it didn't return any relevant results. Thank you in advance
to the community for your help.

There is a thread somewhere in this forum about this. There was a change to
agreement in the backend that you had to agree to. If this did not happen in
a period of time, they locked your account. They sent an email to everyone with
the recovery process, but this was a long time ago. I believe you need that
to recover. I'll keep digging to see if I can find the specifics.

wow, they canceled 5x of my orders, (ordered two of everything)

So what happens now that all my duplicate orders are gone for a project that
says SOLD OUT?

Are they going to make less then 10k sets or reopen the inventory?

I'm pretty sure this was stated somewhere before, but if you don't follow
the order specifics, your entire order is cancelled. This would mean that you've
lost out on the items that are currently sold out. Sorry.

Congratulation to all of the designers.

Very curious -- will they honor the $250 price for the Observatory on the
Lego Shop rather than the $320 price posted on Bricklink? That's the amount
being authorized by people's cards and PayPal accounts, so it seems likely.
If so, that's a great deal for almost 3,900 parts and a gorgeous build.

Looks like they corrected the price. I got one at $250, woot!

Considering you don't actually get charged now and won't until they are
shipped, I would bet that everyone will be charged the stated price of $320 (or
whatever your price conversion is).

You order right here and then when you checkout it will take you to Lego.com

And by right here, the BL Designer page.
https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/introducing.page

It will be updated when the sets go live for you place your pre-order. It will
redirect you to the Lego.com site to place the actual order for payment collection
information and such. One thing to note that if you select the Paypal option
during the pre-order, you will be "charged" and then refunded after 30 days when
the hold drops so keep this in mind. Final charges won't actually post until
the set(s) ship.

Why is this the "final" round? Will there be another set of rounds for 2022???

They had previously announced that they would be three rounds for this designer
program. My guess is that there won't be another one for some time based
on how this went and the fact that the previous one was in 2019

I don't know that I agree with this at all. I'm not a big store and
have had a few 100+ lot orders in my time without issue. I don't want a
lot limit or average so that I can take on smaller orders too. As long as the
store owner is respectful and communicates issue that more important to me.

Have you looked a the piece count for these sets vs the 1st round?

1st round:
Smallest set - 540 pieces
Largest set - 1948 pieces

3rd round:
Smallest set - 1377 pieces
Largest set - 4062 pieces

That's a pretty big difference right there alone to justify a price gap.

money would be shipped back?

Is this how it works? Or do I have to do something special?

greets!

Here is the "Help" info for it: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/support/main.page?utm_content=subnav

Essentially, you are putting in a request for a set. If it is one of the first
5 to hit 3K orders, it will be slotted to be produced. You will provide payment
details during your pre-order, but will not actually be charged at all. If the
set is produced, when it is shipped, you will be charged that set's price.

Thanks Pete. Why are they so rare and limited? Set has been out for 3 or 4
months now

Also I think it's pretty much been sold out since the release day. Which
means a couple things:

1) If anyone on BrickLink was planning on inventorying it, if they did not get
it day 1 they still don't have access to it. As of right now the inventory
for that set has not been reserved, so presumably nobody is even working on it.

2) People don't often part out sets if they only have 1 or 2 of them,
especially bigger sets like this. Since it's been sold out since day one
it highly unlikely that many people (if any) have more than 1 or 2 of the set
and thus even if the inventory was ready not many would be parted out.

-Pete

I have the set, won't get around to working on it till at least the end of
the month. I'm redoing the flooring throughout my house and all my Lego
is just moving from one room to the next. Forget all the new sets that have
come in. I didn't want to reserve the set incase someone could get to in
sooner. If it's still out there, I'll be sure to work on it when I open
mine up. None the less, the stickered parts won't be added for who knows
how long. I have stickered parts from the new Ideas Sonic set and the Designer
Sheriff's Safe that have been waiting for months so even if I get to it,
who knows how long it will be for the stickered ones.

Once the buyer set the status to Received, you cannot make any changes. Truthfully
all I do is file them so that they don't show up on your front page. If
you need to see them again in the future, you can change the filter in the top
right of your "my store" page to show "filed" or "all" and they will still be
there.

If you go to your store settings (https://www.bricklink.com/orderSettingsCols.asp?v=r&viewFrom=O)
select the "File/Unfile Order Checkbox". When you go to your "my store" page,
on the far right side you will see a checkbox that will allow you to "file" your
orders. Essentially it just puts them on another page so you don't have
them mixed in with your active orders.

I move mine once I see that they have been delivered by my other tools and then
can always review them again later if I need to bring them back up or if there
are buyer questions.

or should I log on to bricklink on a daily basis 😬😬😬?
Kind regards J Prickaerts

The only way to pre-order is to be online when the time frame is live. That
being said, Round 1 & 2 are already completed. Round 3 timeline has not been
made available yet. If you keep an eye on the forum, you can be sure that they
will be chatter when it is announced and then you can set an alert for yourself
when it actually is.

No matter how you ship it, you are the responsible party to make sure the order
gets to the buyer. If you agree to ship without tracking, you are taking on
the risk of not knowing if it ever arrives. Some sellers won't do this,
others will. If the order is paid with Paypal, you have no shipping confirmation
and would have little to no chance of winning a claim.

On the other hand, if it is a small order of low value that you wouldn't
be hurt if it gets lost, have at it.

Of the 9 options, the cheapest set is $130, second cheapest is $200. 5 of the

no low priced options this wave may hurt the program.

I am not sure what the exact criteria is for sets brought into this program,

5 sets aren't fully funded this round. Anyone else thinking along the same

I was just looking around the Designer site and saw this as I missed the messages

to swap it out for a longer 1x6x1 brick, I would love to be able to just click
the "resize" button, which would make arrows appear in 6 different directions)
and elongate or shorten an existing brick in any of the three axes to obtain
the longer brick instead of having to delete the old brick, hunt down the new
brick in the menu, and place the new brick. Same goes to plates, tiles, liftarms,
etc. that are each just essentially the same "families" of elements that come
in many different sizes. Resizing the "height" might be a little tricker but
being able to resize in-place in the lateral axes would be great.

I think it would be great to have an "any color" (or "unspecified" or "undecided")
option. For many elements that eventually become hidden inside your model (e.g.,
skeletal structures), it doesn't matter what color they are. However, depending
on what color you choose, the cost of ordering bricks from Bricklink later on
can fluctuate drastically. I don't want to worry about "what is the cheapest
color for this particular brick" in the middle of designing my model every time
I'm picking out a brick that will not be visible. One thing I do right now
is just pick out a random color (some obscure color you're not going to use
anywhere else) and designate that color to all your hidden colors, so I can worry
about picking colors later, but this doesn't give me a realistic cost estimate
while I'm building a model. I want an "any color" option (essentially meaning
"I don't care what color this is as long as it's the cheapest color)
for your bricks and the cost estimate to reflect the cheapest price regardless
of color. The "any color" brick can show up as hashed or checkered in your screen
to indicate its unspecified status. This will also help when I share my .io file
with someone, and they will be able to make a better and more up-to-date purchasing
decision by knowing which bricks will end up being hidden from view and can be
thus purchased in any color. Ideally, this feature would be implemented both
on Studio and Bricklink.

As a follow-up to my previous suggestion for the "Any Color" option in Studio/Bricklink,
I would love to see a "visibility inspection" (or "visibility analysis") button
you can press to identify all the bricks that are completely closed off from
the exterior and thus hidden from view. These "hidden" interior bricks do not
require any special colors to be picked out because no one can seem them, and
people would normally want to buy whatever color is the cheapest on Bricklink.

Currently it is possible to manually distinguish these interior elements by setting
them to one specific color (for example, bright pink so it stands out), but it
is tedious to manually designate them during build. Also, as you continue to
iterate your models, what you have previously designated as "hidden" bricks may
later become visible and vice versa, which introduces human error. With the proposed
"visibility inspection" button, you can just hit the button after the design
is finalized, select all the "hidden" bricks, and change them all to your own
"hidden bricks color" of choice, or in case my other suggestion for the "any
color" option is implemented, they can be designated as "any color," so it's
easy to find the cheapest bricks on Bricklink regardless of color.

Additionally, a user option may be provided so that the user can specify what
qualifies as a "hidden" element. Oftentimes, even when two Lego plates are butting
against each other (especially at an angle), there is a very small microscopic
gap between the two, through which another interior brick can be seen through.
These microscopic gaps are always present (even in official Lego sets) because
of the innate margin of error or give (usually like 0.1-0.2 millimeters) that
is built into all Lego elements. The "visibility inspection" button can be designed
to take these factors into account and also let the user decide how granular
you want to be when deciding what is visible and what is not.

I think for these others, you'll have to search for parts to put them together.
Here are some that might help:

I should know if I plan to start buying from Europe? Are there hidden costs,
higher risks, things too good to be true? Clearly parts are selling for lower
prices in large quantities from some of the EU sellers… are these likely to be
scams, or fake Legos, or is there something I am missing that allows their inventory
to be so high and prices so low? Are there certain countries that have better
reputations for reliable shipping or more honest sellers, or anything else that
would help me feel more comfortable with purchasing outside of the United States?

Thanks!

I've purchased from overseas many times and have not had any problems. Two
things to keep in mind though is that you will have a slightly higher shipping
cost so I try to make sure my value is worth it. Secondly shipping times will
definitely take longer. I try not to order anything from over seas if I have
a deadline, but will use it for bulk orders or misc. part to complete minifigures
and such for my store. I've had some order take 7 days and had a few take
a couple months. Just know that even if a stores say "10 days shipping international,
they can't guarantee that with all the different transportation issues.

Good luck.

The easiest way to see if they part exists (IMO) is to go to the part catalog
entry, click "color info" tab and view the "known colors" list. Once a part
is added to the catalog in that color, it will automatically update in that list.
If it is up for sale on wanted lists, it will display in the other columns,
but that doesn't guarantee that it exists.

Ready to order some things but how do I buy ,

If you have multiple items that you want to purchase, the easiest thing to do
first is to build a "wanted list" (heart icon in the header bar). Everyone starts
with the "default wanted list", but you can make more if you want. Search for
a part via the main search and then once you find the piece that you need you
can click the "add to my wanted list" link. Do this for all the part you want.

After you have all of your wanted list(s) built, hover over the heart again and
click "buy". Then you can click all the lists you want and the filter will try
to locate buyers that have as many parts a possible.

Welcome to BL and don't hesitate to ask more question as you start your journey.

In Sales, coupleoldbricks writes:
10% off ALL orders over $50 from 04/15/2022 to 04/30/2022

Unfortunately your terms aren't quite true.

Coupleoldbricks is not responsible for any shipping damages, lost or stolen. It is Buyer's responsibilty to purchase insurance for protection. For orders over $60.00 USD, Buyer is required to purchase insurance.

You are solely responsible for the delivery of your product in the proper condition.
Insurance is for the Seller and while it is possible for this to be paid or
purchased by the buyer, is not for their protection, but yours. If the shipment
is lost or stolen, it is 100% your responsibility to refund or reship the order.

Coupleoldbricks DOES NOT request to cancel order due to "freight cost too high".

This is not correct. According to BL rules, the buy has the right to cancel.
Please read up here: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=65

Coupleoldbricks reserves the right to cancel orders

This seems a little wrong. If you have the right to cancel, but the buyer doesn't?

Keep in mind that if you are going to ship internationally, there are different
rules for different countries that allow for cancellation and such. You are
using Paypal as well, so all of their rules and regulations trump you right out
of the gate. Just something to think about. Good luck with your store.

From there, if you have the names or numbers that you want, you can search for

When you are first getting started, it's a little chonky, but as you start

sound like you're in the same position that I was in when I started so there
are a number of pieces across different sets and such. As you continue your
journey months later, you won't have a big dump all at once which makes it
easier.

On the flip side as I didn't review the list of parts you added, if there
is a large amount from a single set, you can also do the wanted list of an entire
set in one shot. Just like a single part, if you search for the set number,
you can add the entire set to a wanted list (of which you can have many) and
when you are adding the set, you can remove and modify only to include the individual
parts that you need.

There are all kinds of tips and tricks here that you will find and if you have
questions, don't hesitate to ask or search the forum.

If it gets a variant, unfortunately I would have no idea which set(s) it comes

IMO it wouldn't get an entry for this exact reason. It's not a expect
result from production, but a "misprint". This happens from time to time that
either the printing is out of alignment or a color is missed or not properly
laid down. If you're looking to sell it, you can list it as a custom item,
or as the CAS137 entry and add a proper description for the piece. Either way,
good find.

Does the data you get also lack the sticker sheet information? Do you use the
same data as publicly available through the missing bricks / replacement parts
service?

Correct, it does lack the sticker sheets as well. Essentially the user has to
verify all the variants, create entries all the new parts, create sticker sheet
entries, and add all extra parts. Additionally they can create all the counterparts
for all the stickered entries, but they aren't added right away for the initial
entry.

  Hi people at Bricklink,

Are there delays in processing catalog submissions?

Yes. Pretty much anything that isn't related to a new set inventory is on
hold. The good news is that April will see the release of the least number of
new sets in a month so far this year, so we may be able to start looking at getting
some other stuff into the catalog.

For those keeping track, 251 new sets have been added to the catalog in only
the first three months of this year. And the sizes of the sets keep getting bigger
with more and more unique one-off parts all the time. I'm looking at you
Super Mario.

A huge thanks really needs to go out to all of the people doing inventories for
things, though. Contributors have added almost 800 inventories this year. That
is absolutely amazing. Trying to keep up with all of them is what keeps us the
busiest.

Much thanks to you and your team for all the work you've been putting in.
It's a thankless job most of the time, but we greatly appreciate it all.

Yes it would be a good way to bring new people to the marketplace but I don't

This question in particular is very... leading. Apparently everyone who knows

100% agree. I know enough about them to know that I would never want them and
to see this question in the survey that they are even thinking about something

That's not the point, you can assemble them, yes, but for sorting (or inventorying
them in your shop).

NOT for displaying them in a nice plexiglas box while they're sold.

"have been handled only for sorting."

So for those that have a brick and mortar store that get all their figs from
new sealed sets, assemble them and put them in a display case for retail (and
also have their BL store tied in) you would sell these as Used?

All I'm saying is that by rule I don't think they are doing anything
wrong and that if I were going to buy from them, that would be my question.
As for myself, I mainly resell bulk purchases or personnel sets that have otherwise
been displayed for my own personal benefit and would definitely not fit the "new"
criteria for myself.

Nice!

But excuse me, but IMO, the Minifigs you sell New "Only displayed" aren't
technically New.

I would also sell them Used because their color/aspect may have changed.

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102&q=condition

Minifigures are brand new, taken directly from new sets or were purchased "as
new" in another form such as accessory packs or Pick A Brick and have been handled
only for sorting.

Used but described "Condition just like brand new!" would sell well I guess.

You did leave out a key part to the block that you copied:

New Minifigures - Minifigures are brand new, taken directly from new sets or
were purchased "as new" in another form such as accessory packs or Pick A Brick
and have been handled only for sorting. Minifigures may be listed as new either

Use the "color images" button. This will show you the Lego PCC number.

This is why I read the forums, I never knew those were on that page. Thanks!

It was that long ago that I found this out myself either. I only had to learn
it because I wanted to learn the process for adding new set inventories and there
was a PCC that needed to be update. There is always something behind the button
clicks.

So, tell me if I'm wrong, but one of these Technic panels should have 2 stickers

There shouldn't be 3 parts as counterparts but only 2 !

Unfortunately, no. See since the other sticker is for an alternate build, there
is now way to determine which second sticker would be on the inside. The two
stickers face a different direction to the orientation to the sticker on the
opposite side and since it is not officially stated in the instruction, there
is no way to know. The reason for the "third" counter part is to not what that
stickered part looks like with it's properly documented orientation.

You do realize when you discount and the price has the decimal places, the price
gets rounded to the nearest cent right? This being said, some of you quantity
discount...aren't at all. Image attached shows that all bulk lots in the

I'm missing something.... I just don't know what.

Can somebody make me feel dumb and explain.

From what I can see in the build instructions, there should only be 2 x 24116

Part No: 24116 Name: Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3
*
24116 Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3
Parts: Technic, Panel {Light Bluish Gray}
as in the inventory.

Part No: 24116pb021 Name: Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3 with BMW Logo and Black Stripes Pattern (Sticker) - Set 42063
*
24116pb021 Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3 with BMW Logo and Black Stripes Pattern (Sticker) - Set 42063
Parts: Technic, Panel, Decorated
is for an alternate build and
has the sticker on the opposite side of the part from

Part No: 24116pb012L Name: Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3 with Stylized 'GS' on Inside Pattern Model Left Side (Sticker) - Set 42063
*
24116pb012L Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3 with Stylized 'GS' on Inside Pattern Model Left Side (Sticker) - Set 42063
Parts: Technic, Panel, Decorated
or

Part No: 24116pb012R Name: Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3 with Stylized 'GS' on Inside Pattern Model Right Side (Sticker) - Set 42063
*
24116pb012R Technic, Panel Curved 3 x 5 x 3 with Stylized 'GS' on Inside Pattern Model Right Side (Sticker) - Set 42063
Parts: Technic, Panel, Decorated
In this case, either one of these parts could have the opposite sticker, but
because it is not listed as to which one, there is no way to inventory it in
the system without having 3 different stickers.

This is just my interpretation of the instructions as I don't have the set.

This is a strange question - they would 100% be responsible and would either
refund you or make you another.

This is what insurance is for. In theory, you could go to the USPS and get your
money back for the lost product, but you are the contracted member to the buyer
and not USPS. You made the purchase for the shipping of the goods, therefore
your are responsible for this end of the transaction as well. For both buyer
and seller to be even, buy receives their refund from you because they have no
ability to go to USPS (or any shipping company) because they were not the purchaser
of the shipping label.

Would it be better to sell individually?
I have a full list of everything, with photos, if anyone is interested.

You have to create a store in order to sell on BL and to do that you have to
make a purchase and receive feedback. This usually take a large amount of time
and then for what you are trying to sell, would take a specific buyer as custom
lot are hard to trace.

I would suggest if you want to offload it quick and all together that you look
at some of the other bulk seller sites like Facebook, Craiglist or Ebay.

Bricklink won't have anything to do with this. The responsibility is on
you as the seller to properly resolve the matter. You can file the claim for
the coverage that you have, but IMO you will have to eat the rest of the difference.
Insurance is for the seller, so if you aren't comfortable with the potential
loss, you should purchase the insurance. Tough lesson to learn, but it happens
sometimes.

You'll also need to work with the buyer for their refund and cancel/close
the order.

I've found the easiest way to start working this out is to create your own
color grid. I found this very important as I started to build my store originally.
The color guide give a good starting spot: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp
and will allow you to start to identify what you have and know against those
you think you might have. If you know the set in your collection, that also
help by look at that inventory list. From there, you can decide how you want
to make and label your personal color chart. Personally I decided to go with
2x4 bricks as much as possible. If they were not available or to expensive,
do what works for you. It will take some time to purchase needed parts to fill
the gaps, but once you've got it, it does make things much easier. I tried
to stay with all the "modern" colors that are more available now, but still come
across some pieces that I don't have on my grid. Then using the BL color
guide I linked above makes it easier to narrow down the other options or determine
that it's not a Lego color.

I just looked at two of my sets, 6878 and 6832, both from 1991. 2412a and 2412b
were both in production that year. I have good eyesight, and I absolutely could
not tell from looking at the pictures on the box or the instructions whether
they used 2412a or 2412b. It actually looked like 2412a, even though the BL inventory
lists both of those sets as having 2412b. I know BL is owned by Lego, so have
all the set inventories been verified by Lego Group? Is it unlikely that in some
of those sets (6832 and 6878 in this case), a 2412b was replaced by a 2412a at
the factory? It would be helpful if an admin could comment on this. If the BL
inventory is the verified official Lego inventory, does every production run
of every set have that same exact inventory?

Lego doesn't have an official inventory of sets produced in 1991. BrickLink
inventories were done by volunteers, either here on BL or an older site like
Peeron.

I agree with you that at least on 6878 that it looks like

Part No: 2412a Name: Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille without Bottom Groove
*
2412a Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille without Bottom Groove
Parts: Tile, Modified {White}
on the
picture of the set on the box. However, pictures can be wrong - it could have
been taken before

Part No: 2412b Name: Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille with Bottom Groove
*
2412b Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille with Bottom Groove
Parts: Tile, Modified {White}
was in wide production. On the other hand, the
BL inventory could be wrong - it was inventoried a long time ago and hasn't
been verified. Or it could be that the set was actually produced with either
depending on what was available. In this case I'd suggest marshalling the
evidence that 2412a was used (it was used in other Blacktron sets of the era),
pictures of the set seem to show it, etc., and submit an inventory change request
to list 2412a as an alternate for 2412b.

Thank you for that. When selling used complete sets, does BL expect the seller
to follow the BL inventory exactly or are substitutions like this permissible
and do buyers care about this in your experience?

As was previously mentioned, the only acceptable alternates are ones that are
listed in the sets inventory page. At the bottom of the page, if members have
identified alternates that were actually package from the factory, then you are
able to substitute freely between either version. If it was not a manufacture
option, then you will no be able to substitute it without marking the set as
"incomplete" and listing then pieces in the description notes.

  Hi,

I just tried to upload a spreadsheet and I see it doesn't work. In this spread
sheet there are about 20 sheets. Each of the sheets is a set I'm missing
pieces for. In the sheet it list the part number, the page in the manual, and
quantity needed. Does anyone have a good idea on the best way to get this on
here. I'd like to get some quotes on getting these replacement parts.

Thank you,

Rick

While it is possible to upload xml files here, you have to have the proper formatting
and tags or it still won't work. Seeing that you probably made the excel
sheet yourself it would probably be much more work to go that route.

Alternatively, you can create a wanted list from the specific sets here on the
site. If you search for one of the sets that you want parts for, you will see
a link under "My Wanted List" click "Part Out". This will direct you to the
next screen where you can create a new wanted list for this set and then click
"Submit for Edit". The next screen will then have all of the parts for the set,
here you can trigger all the needed parts and delete everything else. This will
create a list that you can match to the excel sheet that you have.

From there, you can "buy" your wanted list(s) and continue on.

Good luck and welcome to BL.

Sets: BrickLink Designer Program
In doing so, I print out an inventory so that I can count the pieces as I'm
building from the bags. I can check off the parts when sorting out the bags
and then confirm extras when I'm done with the instructions for that bag
number. In doing so I've found that there are two pieces that are included
in bag 4 for this set that are never used at all:

Part No: x346 Name: Bionicle 1 x 3 Tooth with Axle Hole (Bohrok Eye)
*
x346 Bionicle 1 x 3 Tooth with Axle Hole (Bohrok Eye)
Parts: BIONICLE {Red}
and

Parts: Technic, Axle {Red}
I though maybe I missed something in the build at first, but when I went back
and looked at all the instruction, I never see them in use at all. I thought
maybe I had an incorrectly packed set but then I then went and looked at the
Rebrickable site and they appear directly as "Extras". These are not typical
"Extra" parts by any means. Can anyone else confirm that they have these parts
as well?

Both parts are shown on the official parts list at
https://brickset.com/inventories/910016-1
so they are most likely included in each set and should be in the regular items
section. When I approve the inventory I will add a note that they are not needed
to build the model.

Also you may check the pdf instructions:

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/designer-sets-for-adult-fans-of-lego/215755/Sheriff's-Safe

There is a parts list at the end now and it should be definitive for the Regular
parts section, minus the sticker sheet of course.

Ah thanks. I had checked the instructions which I had downloaded in December
and there was no parts list in them yet.

And yes the two parts in question are also included in the list in the instructions.

I was in the same boat here. I had already download all the instructions for
the set months ago when they first came out. Guess I'll take a look through
these and see if they parts are actually used. Thanks

There are delays once and a while in my region, but I've not seen anything
to this extent. My guess might be that is has to do with drivers and availability
in your specific distribution center. Like you said they keep getting update
so you know there are still there. I hope they are still in good condition when
they show up.

ps. randyf wished too hard that there be a break from stickered counterparts...you
win!

I agree, they really do need to find a better way to ship stickers. It works
great in the bigger sets when they have thick instructions as they are properly
packaged, but with my new Sheriff Safe set, the stickers were mixed in the middle
of all the bags. I had to press it for a few days just to make sure the were
properly flat. I would have been pissed if they were ruined like yours as I
don't know if they would have extras to ship out for the designer sets.

You are correct, this is a Lego only site. I would first reach out to the seller

Why do you feel the parts you received weren't authentic? If you are looking

Can I now split the bill to 50 and 22 (the order includes different sets, one

Or can I simply take one set out of the order without cancelling it and write
a new invoice for the one set, without extra shippingcosts of course

thanks for any suggestions,

I would think that you could do an Item removal request, but if the buyer knows
that they have this restriction, I would ask them to submit two orders to stay
under the threshold. If you have auto invoicing, you could always refund the
shipping cost, or if you have manual invoicing, they this would be really easy.

Hello friends I’m new to the community.

I can post some of my favorite builds in the future. But sufficient to say I
am on the hunt for either:
10188 Death Star
Or
75159 Death Star

I would prefer a brand new in sealed box although I don’t mind buying used. But
when I bought used in the past from other sources like eBay so many times I found
missing parts. : (
So I feel a bit burned there. If someone had a mint hundred percent complete
set with manuals I would also be open to that for the right price.

Keep in mind that the packing logic assume exact specs which would me that all

And that is why I go strictly by weight; it's a lot easier.

I'm the same. I go by weight for 95% of what I have in my store with an
exception for large awkward pieces like airplane cockpits and such. They are
by volume and then are set to request invoice for shipping method.

If they selected a box that is too small, then you have your shipping methods
setup incorrectly and this is your error. The right thing to do would be to eat
the extra shipping costs for this order and fix your shipping methods so it doesn't
happen again.

I see. A few 8x8 plates will fit, but not 40 of them. How do you tell the shipping
how many will fit? Usually it goes by size, volume, weight, or some combo thereof,
and since the plates exceed the volume capacity of the small flat rate box, how
do I fix this?

I had this happen a few times when I was getting started. The proper thing is
to eat the cost and learn from it. Definitely take a look at your shipping options
and don't hesitate to ask for some else to review if you think you've
got it fixed.

I know what the system uses it for but I am curious as to what sellers use it
for. It is unique per item (Item, colour, and condition). It has been around
since Dan put the software together (from an auction house system)

Just curious - if it wasn't there would that be a problem ?

I cam think of a couple of uses but they aren't all that important. Would
you want to track by lot (Cost analysis??)

This is standard database Unique Key identifier. Whether you see it or not, it
is most definitely needed for core functionality and data processing. Visually
it matter to make reporting and integration to external systems easier. If you
find a invalid item for sale, you report with this id. Can you imagine if instead
you had to say "go to buyer xyz, and look at part 123...." and they happen to
be one who doesn't consolidate lots.
