Every item for sale on BrickLink has a Condition which is assigned by the seller. The following guidelines apply to item condition, but you should always read the item description before ordering. If you have questions, contact the seller to make sure what you order is what you want.

Do not use phrases such as "Like New" or "As New" in the description of any item, regardless of whether it is being listed as New or Used.
| | Sets: |
In addition to condition, sets also have a sub-condition to indicate whether the set is complete or incomplete.
- New Sets
- (without sub-condition) Assumed to be factory-sealed unless otherwise stated in the description.
- Sealed - Set is brand new, with unopened factory seals intact, all inner bags and contents presumably sealed, intact, complete and untampered with
as shipped by the manufacturer. The seller cannot guarantee that a sealed set is complete.
- Complete - Contents are brand new and may have been removed from their plastic bags and handled for inventorying purposes only. Includes all contents that originally came with set including extra parts, stickers, instructions (if any) and original box/packaging.
- Incomplete - Contents are brand new, but may have been removed from plastic bags for inventory purposes or to remove other contents from the set. The set is missing some of the contents, instructions or original box/packaging. The description should clearly state what exactly is missing.
- Used Sets - The set has been opened, inner bags are no longer intact and or was previously built. If parts show excessive wear, discoloration, excessive scratches, other marks, etc. this must be noted, as well.
- (without sub-condition) should indicate in the description if any contents are missing.
- Complete - Set contains all parts necessary to build all of the models (including alternate models) in the instructions but does not have to contain the original box/packaging and/or extra parts. If the set is missing instructions, the description must list this. If the set did not come with instructions then the set should include all parts listed in the picture inventory which is located on the box or bucket. The set must include all original stickers used on the model either still on the sticker sheet or applied.
- Incomplete - Set is missing items. Description should state what exactly is missing.

- New Parts - Parts are brand new, taken directly from new sets or were purchased "as new" in another form such as accessory packs or Pick A Brick and have been handled only for sorting. These parts have never been used in any manner. If a minifigure or part assembly was originally sold assembled by LEGO, its component parts after disassembly can also be listed as new.
- Used Parts - Parts which have been previously used and are still in good, usable condition. If the parts show excessive wear, discoloration, excessive scratches, other marks, etc., this should be noted in the item description. Sticker sheets missing stickers must be listed as used. Individual stickers not attached to the original sticker sheet must be listed as Custom Items.
- Incomplete Part Assemblies - All Part Assemblies, both New and Used, may only be listed if they are Complete. Part assemblies that are missing subparts should be broken down and listed as separate parts, or listed in the Custom Items section with a custom photo and clear description. Broken or deformed parts are considered incomplete and must also be listed as Custom Items.

- New Minifigures - Minifigures are brand new, taken directly from new sets or purchased as new in another form such as accessory packs or Pick A Brick and have been handled only for sorting. Minifigures may be listed as new either assembled or unassembled.
- Used Minifigures - Minifigures which have been previously used and are still in good, usable condition. If the minifigures show excessive wear, discoloration, excessive scratches, other marks, etc., this should be noted in the item description.
- Incomplete Minifigures - All minifigures, both new and used, may only be listed if they are Complete. Incomplete minifigures should be broken down and listed as parts or listed in the Custom Items section with a custom photo and clear description.
| | Scanned QR Codes on Instructions: | |
Instructions can be listed as New or Used regardless of whether the QR code has been scanned for points. However, instructions listed as New should never have been read or otherwise used for building.
