| Over past few weeks the number of instant checkouts has gone to zero and everything
has become Manual Checkout/Invoice Request.
Upon investigation, it appears most of my inventory has lost it's weight
data. The boxes below condition where you can edit weight, box length etc, that
is all gone across all of my inventory. I've deleted a few items and relisted,
same issue.
I've used the mass upload and put in the weight of my items, used another
account to "checkout" and I get "TBD" or grossly inflated weights
(polybags weighing 9 ounces!!).
I'm lost at this point and unsure what to do next.
Any help most appreciated.

Did you perhaps uncheck the 'Enable my weight and my packing dimensions...'
on your settings here:

During the last meeting we were told that the plan for seller tools was scraped
because what was being developed did not fit in with the plan for the new site.
(Yes there is a plan to write a new site). Yes, I am MORE than disappointed that
we, once again, are not getting anything new to help us.
So I am wanting your seller input that can get us a few things now, to work with
this site, to hold us over until the new site is done. My recollection is the
next two years.
I have a few pet peeves that I will be sharing, but I want to hear your annoyances.
I know they are many, hit me. I'll do what I can.
Post here or PM me, either way is fine.

Thanks for reaching out. While I understand why a new site is necessary, just
the thought of how much we may lose in the process makes me depressed.
Anyway, here are my suggestions:
Fix wording on Onsite payment required 'Seller does not support shipping...'
so people can actually figure out what is going wrong.
Move Request a Quote to the beginning of the transaction, and clean up the misleading
wording on every step of the checkout process.
Clean out the 'Shared Shipping Methods' and stop giving new sellers the
impression that they can just pick one of those outdated methods and have their
shop magically charge the right price for postage.
Fix the permanent 'Completed' Order Status if a seller mistakenly sets
it.
Fix the phantom order/payment issue that's been reported. (I just had one
this week: payment but no order.)
Find a way for us to submit sales tax payments when a buyer can't or won't
use the Onsite payments.
Requested Quotes should trigger the same yellow number notification icon that
messages do so we don't miss them.
Only make site changes during BrickLink office work hours to reduce overnight
and weekend downtime that adversely affects European sellers.
Respond more to issues in the Forum or create a place where members can track
known issues.
Yep! There's more but you only have so much time I would guess.
Thanks,
Jen

I may have to take some of your advice. I’d love to fix some of my older photographs
of rare parts someday.

Is this acceptable? Can I ask sellers to do that?
She is not an AFOL.
Thank you.

Do not change your address!
If you do change your address, your store will get closed and you have to go
through the process of becoming seller again. That may take few weeks.
You can open another account, just for purpose of buying. Then you can change
that address.
|
I am fairly sure this is against TOS.
|
I don't recommend buying from Germany this way. Shipping charges from Germany
are, for most German stores, very affordable. Some only charges 9 Euro to ship
worldwide, while they charge maybe 4 euro to ship within Germany. On top of that,
they charge VAT for orders that remain in Germany.
I would just directly order from Germany to your address in the USA.

My advice on patterned parts is to show them at less of an angle than this. It's
good to show a bit of the side so we can see what part this is, but the pattern
side should take up the majority of the image. This makes it much easier to identify
when scanning through the thumbnail images.

| Please could anyone help me regarding extortionate shipping when someone purchases
one of my instruction manuals.
I have had a few orders now where bricklink only gives the option for a medium
parcel when it's clearly only a manual so therefore will fit in a large envelope.
It's defaulting to £5 for shipping when it should be more like £1-£2.
Is it something I have set up wrong on my store settings ? Or is this a well
known issue.
Many thanks.

|
Take a look at the dimensions of the manuals.
Most have the dimensions of the original set box and those are way larger then
the instructions
|
Yes, it's unfortunate that they were all originally entered with the wrong
measurements. In hindsight, it would have been better to leave the missing measurements
blank so sellers would have more incentive to submit the correct data.
Sellers, if you see instruction packing dimensions with a height of 1 cm, it's
a clue that these were the default data. Please submit the corrections by using
the Add or Change tab, Change Item: Set which is where the instructions
dimensions are hiding.

used for other purposes outside of a train, and without a hinge around. It is
just bar connections all around. This part should be listed either under Bar
or otherwise under Train in the catalog (since its original purpose may have
been for electric trains).
Meanwhile, the old part 2881/2922 did have a hinge component and can be left
alone under hinge. If part 37494 moves to train in the inventory, however, I'd
argue 2881/2922 should join it there despite having a hinge component.
