I disagree since LEGO calls this part plant, so if people are looking for this
part based on what LEGO has and has sold I'd be looking for plant, this is
called part continuation between sites, there is also the fact LEGO owns this
place and if they are gonna call it plant there, they can call it plant here.

That is ridiculous. Do you have any idea how many things we classify here according
to our names or names that are in common usage? The point is that people will
be able to search for and find this part when they need to. LEGO parts can all
be used in a vast variety of ways, but now we need to restrict classification
for just this one part because LEGO said so?? It should be called Plant and Seaweed
and Coral and whatever else is practical for sellers and buyers to find it when
needed.

as it relates to packaging limits.

BrickLink keeps a separate database for packaging dimensions not related to the
format of our catalog data. The new database was derived from a mishmash of sources
but is now updated by members posting in a certain thread here in the Forum.
You can only view the dimensions entered for the parts in your shop on the My
Inventory pages.

Wrong armor shoulder pads are listed for this figure, this can be confirmed from the instruction download from lego on page 5 of set 70010. I have this figure and can provide picture of correct setup if needed.

This has been wrong in the catalog for a long time and many sellers probably
have this listed as pictured. So it would be better to add a new minifigure and
have this one marked for deletion.
It looks like the armor shoulder pads for this minifigure were switched with
another minifigure this is pcitured with 11097 when it should have 11098. Can
you also add a new minifigure for this one?

TLG either got the instructions wrong or got the official box and set images
wrong. The box and set images show the minifigures as they are in the catalog,
but the downloaded instructions show them reversed. My kids have this set. I
will find the hard copy instructions that I have to see if they match the downloaded
instructions. Maybe the online instructions are wrong.

This morning I had two different people ask via PM that we delay implementing
these new definitions for item types and categories so that we could discuss
them further.
I see three paths we could take from here:
1. Make these official in one week from today, but not move anything yet.
Instead, only move things as part of projects on the roadmap.
2. Make these official and immediately begin allowing limited movements
of item types and categories as necessary.
3. Delay making these definitions official.
My thought is that these definitions will not be perfect. They must be field-tested
and will change over time as flaws are discovered. They have been delayed for
20 years and I'm not overly thrilled about further delays.
But I also understand that the last few months have been an exceptionally busy
time for sellers, so many sellers simply haven't had time to consider or
comment on the definitions.
So my preference is for the first option from the list above. What's yours?

Thanks for being so responsive about this issue! I am comfortable with Option
1 as it keeps things moving forward and respects the work that has already been
done. And, I would be very relieved to know that parts won't be moving around
yet without further time (and maybe discussion.)

Sorting by item number is a difficult issue with this site. They are a combination
of letters and numbers and won't give you consistent results.

No, there is no way to check your inventory history. But you can look in your
stockrooms. Aso, the most common errors occur I believe when updating items on
the My Inventory pages, hitting Submit Changes and then having the site time
out on your request. (Or on the final page of the Add Items dialog.) Check and
double check your work.

The no precedent excuse does not hold water. There is a whole gamut of 3937 assemblies
listed in the catalog. Like Stormchaser stated and is trying to overcome: things
happen here on the whim of a single Admin. This particular case is an example
of an illogical decision.

for us here, we can't even go by Provinces nor Postal Codes, so there are
no ways for us to create zones within Canada.

shipping. My understanding is that there are no zip code based anything in IC.

Ok good to know. I'm not sure how granular it is for you guys with USPS but
for us in Canada, we go from basic Lettermail (2cm thickness maximum, low weight
max) which is standard country-wide, and then jump to basically only a single
kind of parcel service (if you exclude Xpresspost) which varies SO widely in
prices across the country. A parcel that ships within my city for $11.27CAD (and
also ships to Toronto and Montreal for the same price) costs $14.80 in a town
15 minutes away from my house. It's actually cheaper for me to send that
same tracked parcel to the US.
It's so difficult for us to create generic shipping parcel prices because
the gap between the prices in different parts of Canada is so great. The urban
cities in ON/QC ship for $11.27CAD for me (or even cheaper in QC due to taxes),
but can reach just over $20 for the same parcel in the more remote areas on the
opposite side of the country. If we could at least create manual zones, even
based on province of the buyer, we would at least be able to create a better
"average" price for all buyers.

The differences in our zones is much smaller. For me in Chicago, the smallest
package ranges from $2.74 to $3.18. A 16oz package is $5.04 to $5.70. Over that
weight, we have to use Priority where the differences get much more noticeable.
But 90% of my orders are below 16oz so it is not too much hassle.

IC did not use the USPS API last time I checked. I think most sellers just decided
on one rate that covered the costs in most zones and left it at that.

Also by the way I really wanted it as well for the minifigures and someone told
me it was already in the catalog. I never realized the figs could be available

?? There is no risk whatsoever. Admin approve all set inventories that are correct.
And they help submitters to make an inventory correct. I am not sure where you
are coming from in all this. Give me a couple days to complete the inventory
and you will see that the system works just fine.

I figured by now it would be pretty instant for inventories to get listed with
lego now owning this site. I’m hoping this site isn’t still using volunteers
to do inventory

I wondering what your thought process is on this subject. What does the recent
acquisition have to do with the speed at which inventories are completed on BrickLink?

My thought process is that the Lego Group owns bricklink and could potentially
instantly upload all inventories of sets that are released. You from what I understand
are now employed by Lego so I assume you would know more about what the capabilities
are.
But maybe it’s just going to take some cash to fix the situation. Maybe I need
to offer 40$ or 100$ for someone to inventory the set. You can call it a side
job or a bounty or something along those lines. I had thought that the Lego group
would have helped in this area but I guess inventories still rely on volunteers.
I really have no clue but I’m willing to pay someone to do it if someone wants
to make some cash.

Sorry you feel so negative about all this. Our system works with volunteers and
the LEGO group could not provide all the necessary info for a good inventory.
Just look at the differences between our inventories and Brickset's if you
need some examples. No pattern names, no minifigs, no part variations, no sticker
sheets, no extras. Anyway, you posted that you needed an inventory and someone
offered to do it. How bad can things be?

| Sure! I'll play along...
I am not convinced that 90460 is really a new version of 6131.
They look the same and LEGO uses the same thumbnail image for both. The small
image in Dark Green that I submitted for 90460 was back in the days before I
knew what I was doing. I cannot confirm the part number or what set it was from.
(I guess we all start somewhere!)
Anyway, I would like to see convincing side by side proof that they are significantly
different even if they have different mold numbers. I have not found any molded
with 90460. My Witch from Series 2 has been played with so I cannot confirm it
there either.
I am open to hearing any ideas or missing information about this!

I know I should be patient... but I find it kind of weird he responded very quickly
to my last call for buying, and afterwards not responding anymore.
So if you recognize yourself in such a situation, maybe vote 'YES' and
perhaps selling on BL will be more pleasant and more serious. I'm sure there
is a lot of members thinking this way, isn't it?

Yes, we used to have the ability to see when a buyer had last logged on. This
feature was just removed last month due to 'privacy' issues. It's
unfortunate as it was a valuable tool for sellers. Hopefully, they find a way
to restore it soon.

Wow, this is a pretty bold incorrect assertion. I was an inventory admin for
three years. The building instructions are the ultimate source for accurate inventories.
Not every set follows every rule, but that is where everything starts.

I am totally with you here Randy. Our system isn't perfect, but it is stable,
and LEGO makes constant changes so not everything fits exactly. Of course there
is always room for improvement, but system-wide changes are not necessarily needed
to correct small historical inconsistencies. It is very disruptive for sellers
to have listings, categories, and inventories updated.
Just my two cents as a seller and contributor. Thanks to all who help maintain
and improve the unique resource we have here!

That's too bad. The catalog Add or Change pages are very specific out of
necessity. If you are trying to reserve an item, you are already to the inventory
section. All you need to do to add a new minifig is go to the Catalog Add or
Change tab and then click Add Item: -Minifig. Then, it gets much more complicated!
People here will answer questions so don't struggle with any one step too
long.

Sorry, but I must say that I take offense at this statement. You are passing
judgement on the previous admins and their reasons for leaving the site. You
